Haha awesome posts so far! I wish I could create a character. I had an idea for a support character that would serve as an off-tank (good with damage absorbing, but not good at dealing damage) as well. I'd be super interested to get feedback, though, if anyone would be interested.
That'll be cool lol you should make some sort of character to take part in.
Combat Role: Support Sub-class: Defensive Tank Health: 350 (250 Shields) (100 Health) Having been a member of the military, Buster has access to similar particle technology with that of Zarya. Said technology was created as a means of maintaining durability for oneself and for allies. Buster has maximized this technology to serve as the most durable healer we’ve seen thus far. Ability 1: Syphon - Buster’s particle shielding absorbs incoming damage and redistribute said damage into a burst heal for nearby allies, and himself. Ability 2: Health Pylon- Buster plants a small pylon into the ground. Said pylon does 14 points of AoE healing per second to nearby allies. The Pylon has 125 health points (100 health and 25 armor). Ability 3: Alternate Shot- Unlike other characters, Buster must actually switch to his alternate means of fire. This takes 1 second to do. (You would use the primary and alternate trigger buttons to switch back and forth). Primary Fire: Blitz Canon: A particle arm-canon that shoots medium-sized particle spheres out at enemies. The projectile speed is a bit slower than D.Va’s pistol, but Buster can shoot multiple rounds per second allowing for multiple incoming projectiles to deter encroachment. Type: Linear projectile Damage: 20 per projectile 1 projectile shot Projectile speed: 30 meters per second Rate of Fire: 5.3 rounds per second Ammo: 30 rounds Reload Speed: 1.5 seconds Secondary Fire: Blitz Spread: The obtuse barrel of the canon switches to the side, allowing Buster to shoot four (albeit slower and weaker) particle rounds in a fan-like spread. The weaker concentration of energy allows for this spread to pass through constructs such as Reinhardt’s shield. It is still absorbed by an enemy Zarya’s particle shields. Type: Linear projectile Damage: 13 per projectile 4 projectiles Projectile Speed: 12 meters per second Ammo Usage: 4 rounds per shot
Passive: Particle Restoration- Much of Buster's health pool consists of shields, and thus can replenish over time.
Strengths: An incredibly durable healer. While healers like Ana, Mercy, and Zenyatta rely on maintaining distance, Buster serves best as a healer on the front lines. High health pool, and a spike healing capability. With that being said, an Ana could benefit from a well-placed Health Pylon- as she could remain relatively close to the combat and have a means of sustaining herself.
Buster would work well with a tank hero. Buster is an off-tank support hero that relies on being in the thick of combat. We excels with proper barrier placement from Zarya, some protection from Reinhardt ‘s or D.Va’s shields, or added fire power from Roadhog. Unlike other healers, he isn’t as easily bullied around by Winston. His ‘Syphon’ ability can help his allies make quick work of enemy flankers, but he is susceptible to a flanker when alone.
Weaknesses: Like most Tank characters, Buster is countered big time by Reaper (or characters like him). While his ‘Syphon’ ability can certainly help against a flanking Reaper, the character’s damage output is just too powerful to overcome without help from allies. Buster would be an obvious target for snipers in that he has a larger hit-box and is a support. However, Buster's health pylons are an even more obvious target for enemy snipers and flankers.
Unlike Zarya's particle beam, Buster has a particle projectile and thus it can be deflected by an enemy Genji. He also requires another tank to support the team on most occasions.
I wanted to create a character that can work as a healer who doesn't need to have another healer, but can definitely benefit from it. As well, I wanted this hero to be a sort of hybrid of tank and support, but was still obviously served as a support as their primary function. I tried to create a balance between the durability of a tank and the fragility of a healer.
With that being said I am having a lot of trouble coming up with an ult that matches this balance and represents the character's abilities. If anyone could provide some feedback or some help regarding the ult, it'd be greatly appreciated :)

Oh, right.
Code name: Quarantine 17
Real name: Sang-ho Lee/Adrian Lee(fake identity which he is currently using)
Age: 37
Nationality: Korea, Republic of
Personality: Quarantine 17 does not take battles seriously unless he finds his opponent even to, or better than him. If the opponent is weaker than him, he enjoys terrifying them by striking when their guard is low, or from an unexpected direction. During battle, his actions are swift and accurate. He seems to be interested in chemical weapons, and tries to gather any information about whoever is researching them. While out of combat, he acts like a normal person, talking with people and acting casually, especially aftet he's done scaring his enemies.
Physical appearance: Quarantine 17 stands at 5.8 feet and weighs 190 lbs. He is muscular and is bald with dark brown eyes.
Brief History: It was a normal life for Sang ho, with his mother and father both working as a teacher. He was hoping for a normal life and a normal death, until the Omnics struck his country. Though he was not a part of the MEKA force, hs helped defend and restore the damage as a part of the military. However, when a group of civilians were held hostage, he rescued them bravely with his friendlies, also some help from the MEKA, and was recruited to Overwatch after few more heroic performances, along with some of his friends he met in the military. During his Overwatch duty, him and a small squad was searching a warehouse, which turned out to be an illegal laboratory researching a chemical weapon. The weapon was released, and the area was put under quarantine. Him and a few others survived, though they were injured badly. Sangho stayed resting until Overwatch was disbanded. When it happened, him, and a few Overwatch agents gathered up, faked their deaths with each others' help, and started a mercenary team called 'Hog Squad' with their fake identities. They secretly tried to find more details about the downfall of Overwatch, but half the members were assassinated by Talon during a hostage rescue. During his days in Hog Squad, Sangho utilized special kind of gas in combat, giving him the nickname 'Quarantine 17'. When he heard the news of Overwatch rebuilding from a friend, he set off to see who gathered for it, and wether he should join it.
Combat role: Offense
Sub-class: Assault
Abilities: (All skill range is radius.) Weapon-Close Quarter Combat Rifle Magazine size:6 Damage per shot:100(halved every 10 meters, minimum of 25. Accuracy decreases along with damage) Passive: Hazard protection Debuffs gained in form of gas and syringe does not effect him. (Ex: Ana's grenade and sleeping dart, Widow's mine) Skill 1: disruption bomb Range: 5 meters Duration: 5 seconds Cooldown: 8 seconds(timer starts after effect is gone) Movement speed:-10% Quarantine 17 throws a bomb that lets out a special gas. Enemies that are in the gas will be highlighted for him. Those who are in range when it detonates will be stunned for 0.5 seconds. Skill 2: decontamination pad Health: 300 Duration: 2 uses Heal: 20 Cooldown:20 seconds(starts after deploying) Quarantine 17 deploys a healing pad that heals allies 2 times maximum. It can be destroyed when dealt 300 damage. Deploying another will disable one that has been already deployed if it is still usable. Ultimate: Pandemic Zone Range:20 meters Additional damage: 50% Movement decrease: 20% Duration: 10 seconds Quarantine 17 deploys an energy barrier and releases a gas that effects his enemies.
Strengths: Q17(Quarantine 17 for short) is a dangerous opponent when meeting in close quarters due to his weapon. He can fight effectively against multiple enemies.
Weaknesses: Farther his enemy is, the more useless his weapon becomes. This forces him to stay close to enemies, increasing the risk of sustaining damage.
@Zelosse Oh, of course. I can make him mouthy. Though he's not really a plague surgeon. I've got a character themed like that planned, but that guy'll have to wait.
@AlternateMan: I like the character concept, though maybe we could make some tweaks. I feel that the 'Decontamination Pad' is a bit too similar to Soldier's. Since he's meant to be an assault offensive, he still would need some sustain. I propose that you use something that fits with his character theme. Perhaps he has a nerve gas that can debuff or slow enemies, and can give Quarantine a small spike heal.
This could allow for escapes (for both you and the team) and can serve to heal you so you can stay in the fight (even if you might need to step back). With that being said, he does feel a bit more like a defensive character. You could even use his Disruption Bomb as a powerful variant of Hanzo's 'Sonic Arrow'. Plus with the proposed move, he'd have area denial and since he has a larger health pool- he could more reliably defend an objective. He'd be one of those pesky characters that the rest of the team struggles to take down in an objective (See: Mei, Lucio, and Tracer) from how you describe his weapon and his abilities.
Though these are just some suggestions, feel free to let me know what you think. Either through here or in a PM. Thank you for your interest, and I really enjoy your character concept.
Edit: Also please don't think that these are the exact tweaks you have to make. These are just some ideas I had based on your concept, and how it reads for me in-game. If you have more ideas or anything like that, like I said, let me know. :)
@Famotill @Lmpkio edited CS. Changes: Added random quotes for activating skills. Decontamination pad removed, 2-way filter added. Allies can see enemies in range of disruption bomb. Nothing than that. Blueberry pie. Also thinking of adding other Hog Squad members.

Thought I'd come up with something for this. Let me know what you think!
Lexicon
Real Name: Alexander Clifford
Age: 25
Race: Human
Nationality: American
Personality: Alexander is confident and aware of his own abilities, but doesn't pay that much attention to the emotions of the people around him. It's not that he is outright cruel, he just doesn't care what people think of him. He is constantly curious due to the fact that he still does not fully understand his own abilities, and is eager to learn more, not only about himself, but anything he doesn't fully understand. He believes that most people have some sort of good in them, and once he commits to something, it can be hard to get him to stop.
(Alexander wears this, sans lightning:)
Affiliations: Overwatch
Brief History: Alexander was 12 years old and beginning puberty when he destroyed his room. Not in the way most guardians would expect, with dirty laundry and toys strewn everywhere. The boy's room exploded one night, leaving him in the hospital for weeks, his uncle watching over him worried and distraught. A police investigation concluded that it must have been a freak accident with the pipes or wires, because they couldn't find any trace of a planted bomb.
Alexander knew what it was, though.
He was reading a book, tracing his finger, and as he traced over the word blast, it followed his finger, launching out of the book. Every night for the next couple of years was spent in an open and empty field with a dictionary, seeing what words he was able to summon. By the time he was 17, he was able to utilize the words "blast", "hide", "ball", "launch", "slam", "jump", "wheelbarrow", and "destruction". "Destruction" cannot be used extensively; the first time that Alexander used it, he blacked out for a full 30 minutes. He might have been out for longer if it wasn't for Vincent. Vincent was the boy who found him lying in the grass, the boy who took him to his house to see if he was okay, the boy who looked terrified of what Alexander could do. Later, he would become the boy that Alexander loved.
The couple graduated from school and took up work around their town, but Alexander has heard of the resurgence of Overwatch, and has answered the call, now chosen as an agent. He believes that abilities such as his have to be used to help others. He leaves his home with a heavy heart, but hope for the future.
Combat Role: Offense
Sub-class: Flanker
Abilities:
All of Alexander's abilities use words that he has in a book. He has a book with hundreds of copies of the words that he is able to use.
Summon Word: Blast
Lexicon uses his book to send the word "BLAST" flying. It behaves similar to a rocket. It has an area knockback effect, but only if it hits the floor. If it hits an enemy, they and only they are knocked back.
Summon Word: Hide
Lexicon summons the word "HIDE". Anything that touches/holds it (limited to one living thing) becomes invisible, along with the word. It only lasts for a maximum of 20 seconds, and if the user is shot the word/effect disappears.
Summon Word: Jump
Lexicon summons the word "JUMP" and throws it onto the ground. If someone jumps onto it, it acts as an insanely strong spring, launching them into the air. "JU" and "MP" attach to the user's feet so that they take no damage on the landing.
Primary Fire: Lexicon throws the word "LAUNCH" from his book. It behaves similar to a thrown dagger.
Secondary Fire: Lexicon throws out the word "SLAM" from his book. It is a short range attack, that is useful for putting distance between close enemies, similar to Lucio's alternate fire.
Ultimate: Summon Word: Destruction - Using much of his available power, Lexicon summons an orb of many swirling copies of the word "DESTRUCTION", a large and, for lack of a better word, destructive sphere of energy that explodes out. He is able to attach an adjective that will give those hit by it an effect:
"TOXIC DESTRUCTION": Destruction gives all those hit with it a toxic poison effect, doing damage over time and reducing healing by 25%. "ALPHA DESTRUCTION": Destruction deals extra damage on hit. "TERMINAL DESTRUCTION": Destruction does less damage to healthy enemies, but all enemies that are already decently injured are dealt extreme damage. "DRAINING DESTRUCTION": Destruction is launched as normal, and Lexicon heals at a value equal to half the damage dealt by it.
Strengths: Lexicon is very good at dealing damage, and his Hide ability lets him sneak up and flank enemies very well. His jump ability would make a good vantage point for Mercy to fly to, and the versatility of his ultimate allows for many uses in different situations.
Weaknesses: Lexicon doesn't wear much armor and can't take too much of a beating. His abilities can be very draining, and he has to wait a decently long time before using them again. Destruction is extremely powerful, but he hasn't mastered it as much as he'd like. It takes almost 6 seconds to summon the orb and launch it, and once he uses it he falls prone for a couple seconds.
