Now I'm interested to know when we are starting up? You said Monday for the CS but since that's already done, would it still be Monday? @auspiciousPetal

I'd also like to ask, do stats actually come into play here in a literal manner? Will they grow over time if they do?

I might have made my character a bit too understated compared to everyone else, should I adjust his values so that he might match them? I was going for a 'everyday man' kind of descriptor for him initially, but I might have overdone it, now I'm worried that the moment he actually steps into Eurasha - someone would just sneeze on him and he would collapse.

Stats will come into play. There will be frequent random battles. Remember that list I posted about the landscape? Expec one of monsters soon. ;)

Every time you unlock a new ability, you gain three points to disperse how ever you'd like across your stats.

Also, I was thinking we'll still start Monday. I need to write up a few more things for this before we begin. I might also be making a map.

Good point. I think it might come in handy if we had some kind of reference value or fixed number of points to spend so we start without too large differences as long as we can make adjustments. I've roughly used the average out of the averages for my character.

@Fetzen Indeed, could we all have a fixed amount of points to spend on our character's stats? @auspiciousPetal Then progress as we go along?

It may take a bit of allocation on everyone's part, but that would not take very much time at all! I suggest maybe 45 points (4.5 x 10), so that we will have both strengths and weaknesses each. If you are open to the idea.

Though I don't see points and stats as very important at all in my style of writing, I do think that a sense of equality on starting characters- especially when stats apparently will have quite an impact on the roleplay - amongst characters, will really foster a good foundation for the interpersonal relationships amongst the characters. Likely in times when they have to rely on one another (someone that may be adept in melee combat, may be dying of starvation because he/she cannot hunt and has to rely on someone who has good survival skills - therefore they form a reluctant friendship).

What does everyone think? 45 points to distribute among the starting attributes? @Smystar99@Sterling

I like this idea. You're pretty brilliant.

The stats DO come into play, mostly in the form of battling. All monsters will have a fixed amount of health points, attack points, etc, that correlate to our own points. The higher yours get, the more likely you are to survive.

There is one question coming up my mind: Are the effects of magical abilities, so far as they are of concern for stats, to be included in them or not ? I'm mainly asking this because Greg's first ability is a passive.

@auspiciousPetal Why ty! :). I changed Gwyn's stats to +1 Intelligence and +1 to endurance, because now it's exactly 45 points total. (He was suprisingly at 43 even though I gave him such bad stats.)

I'd also like to know what @Fetzen said, I initially thought stats didn't matter and were more like a reference to what a character is good/bad at, than how good or bad they are at it. But I guess that was just me oversighting things.

I changed Sky's skills to match the 45 limit, although I do need an understanding on the difference between speed and agility? I feel stupid for not knowing but it makes it hard to get her stats right when I don't know the differece between the two.

@Smystar99 I would assume (I'm not the GM) that speed is just that - speed: How fast can you run, how quickly can you accelerate, turn around etc. ? Possibly this could also include non-combat situations: Walking, horse riding etc..

Agility could be what types of moves you can perform: Can you keep your balance in even the wildest of movements ? Can you bend forward until your head touches your toes and wrap your arms around your thighs at the same time while hopping backward or do you have so gross motor skills that you can only switch between 'not shaking another person's hand at all' and 'crush all bones in it until the blood comes seeping out between your fingers'.

@FetzenWas absolutely right. Speed is your natural movement, and agility is more like your ability to pull off acrobatics, use balance, etc.

And, no. Magical abilities should not be counted toward your overall stats, but only to your stats when you are USING said ability!

I feel like I should collect all of this now and tag it into my character sheet.

-leaves to do so-

@auspiciousPetal Okay. I've adapted Greg's stats to fit the 45 number and exclude his first ability (which is always active)

Why do you think rich ladies wear really fugly rings that are sharp enough to poke an eye out? To protect against these guys in "Meet and Greet" sessions, of course. (True story!)

@Smystar99 I had the same issue, going to switch the places of agility and speed now.

@potatochipgolem Well her speed and agility have the same number but it was still something I needed to know. It`s weird because speed and agility have always meant the same thing to me.

@Smystar99 Her speed and agility is freaking high! I imagine much of Gwyn's time is spent trying to help her with his Touch spells while she zips around like a madwoman. XD.

"Nuuuhhh~ staahhp!! *mumbles* The one time I want to help ...oh life is so pointless. *goes to a corner and moans* :(."

@Fetzen Indeed, getting stabby stabbied may make me loose my health. BUT AT LEAST I STAND MY GROUND AND EARN MANLINESS POINTS! XD.

@potatochipgolem Well I did say that she was super fast in combat XD It`s not like she runs around every two seconds, she`s just super fast when she needs to be, she`s much like air. When it came to her character I wanted to make her as much like her element as I could without it seeming overwhelming, therefore I created bubbly bartender over here.

Hey guys! Just wanted to pet you know that we WILL be starting tomorrow afternoon/evening after I finish class. I can't wait to start. I have most of the monsters and such written up, and the introduction is ready to go. It's LONG. I APOLOGIZE. BUT IT WAS THE ONLY WAY TO GET EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IN FOR YOU GUYS BEFORE WE START THE DAY.

It's mostly inapplicable to your starting situations. XD We'll be playing out the day before we enter the realm, But it will only require a post or two before everyone is actually together at the bar and back at Ilia's.
