Name: Juri, The Pale Star
Age: 7, appears 19
Race: Moon Spirit
Appearance: (I got the sketch done!~ That being said, I'm too much of a lazy bum to color it. haha...) ((On another note, on the site I was using before, I was able to warp text around an image, is there any way to do that here on RPG? I'm only asking since the image is kinda big. I don't want it to be annoying for anyone reading the sheet. If not, I'll just toss it in a hider.))
Personality: Naive and curious, she is still very much a child at heart, though her matured body may betray otherwise. Despite her delicate appearance, like that of a stream of moonlight in the dead of a winter night, she seems to not be afraid of taking action and finds sitting in the back watching others to be boring. Almost opposite of what is expected of a Moon Spirit, she is loud and doesn't understand when to stop playing around, often saying and doing immature acts. Often asked to take care of those in the village by her elders, Juri, more often than not, ends up causing more trouble for others than soothing their ailing souls.
History:Not to be mistaken with 'Ghosts', forlorn souls unanle to pass to the Afterlife, 'Spirits' are entities of the living essence of the world made manifest and given thought. It is said all things carry a life. Most notably the elements, from which emotions are derived, also known as 'Chi'. Born from these very elements, all Spirits are gifted with the power of their origin and assigned a life-long task. They say that Spirits are the servants of the Gods, so they look high above for a purpose, for their destinies written in the stars. Spirits mature at a rate much quicker than a normal human and live for much longer. But their long lives are no less busy. Instilled with purpose, they toil away to preserve the order and balance of this world. It is by their steady and constant care that even the rain falls and the sun shines every day. Or so they firmly believe. Their innate power and fabled mysticism earned this kin the respect from the other races of the land. Though many may mistake them as 'godlike', they are not, and are as mortal as any other living race. Together with the other gifted races, they forged a golden and beautiful kingdom that stretched for countless miles.
But this age of peace was long, long ago.
Since the reign of the Tyrant God Anjou, many spirits have been enslaved and their powers abused by him and his evil lords. He offered them strength if they bowed to his command. Some accepted this newfound power and became living weapons for his army but others refuse this path. A few managed to hide, disappearing into nature, where they plot to overthrow the warlord.
But their hope has waned. Centuries have passed and the current world has long gone cold and dark, wrapped within an age of night ruled by hands of an evil God. But there is always a light if one seeks hard enough the black skies, high above.
As though sent by the heavens, she is one of the last remaining Moon Spirits. Born from the celestial light, Juri emerged and carried a unique destiny; to free the land of evil.
Sent on this journey alone, but armed with the blessings and sacred teachings of her people, the young girl departed the hidden village with eager eyes. Left to wander the the world searching for a way to accomplish this destined task. A mere child asked to free an entire land, such a thing is unheard of elsewhere. But she will not give up. There is something Anjou must repay for. Will she find strength to succeed this long, arduous journey, aided by a band of close friends perhaps? Or will she fall to despair, to dim and fade like every star.
Skills: Visage of the Moon;Gifted with the powers of the great celestial entity, Juri is able to see in complete darkness, but she may be obscured through supernatural means. She is also able to emit a pale glow for others to see, if necessary. When she focuses her eyes and enters a meditative state, this allows her to detect faint traces of energy or essence from her surroundings.
Being a Spirit, her body does not react to the physical world normally like a mortal. She does not require sleep, nor does she really need to eat. This doesn't stop her from doing it for fun though. Juri enjoys a good, heart-warming meal, just like anyone. But one major example of this trait being a disadvantage is that she does not heal like a mortal. As a creation of elemental chi, she can only heal in the direct presence of her element, which goes without reminder, the moon. While very inconvenient for her and other companions, if basked in moonlight, it allows her to rapidly heal even severe injuries. In desperate times, she is able to feed off the essence of a living vessel in order to sustain herself longer. Being too long away from the moon also appears to weaken her, very prolong periods may even kill her, while being around it grants her heightened powers and abilities.
Even without the aid of moonlight, her pale body is lithe and incredibly nimble, though adversely extremely frail to direct violence.
Powers:Touch of Moonlight; All her powers lie within her ability to manipulate magical moonlight and chi. While seemingly harmless, if concentrated, the pale light can cause a victim to feel weakened, both body and Soul, as it disrupts the flow of chi in their body. If used with benevolent intention, she is able to sooth the emotions of a creature in its path.
Otherwise, much of her magical abilities have yet to be fully developed. Still very young, in terms of Spirits and Mortals, her journey is very much one of growth. Destined by the elders to grow stronger than any Spirit in her time, she is regardless qualified to take care of herself. Juri is in ripe physical form, being fully matured, as is the presence of a Spirit a token of good fortune. Being a clean slate is also an advantage in itself, making her rather adaptable for this long journey.
Equipment: She has nothing in terms of armor or martial weapons, not that she has to skill to use any such thing. A simple white and blue traveling gown and a special hair ornament areall she wears. She doesnt even own a pair of sandals, not that she needs them. Her feet never bear even a smudge of dirt. Her only remarkable belonging is the large portable shrine she carries strapped upon her back. Every night she settles it down and prays with longing.
