@rocketrobie2@Mr Rage

R2 - Dude's accepted. However since Spiderman isn't a Golden Age character just refrain from mentioning him in posts.

Rage - that goes for Thunderclap too, since the X-Men aren't actually golden agers. Just mention the Xavier School if you want to address your boy's time there, rather than 'trained to be an X-Man...'

OOC is up by the way guys!

Just gotta take inspiration from one if possible, and the bigger ones are off limits [Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Capt. America].

Hey, I had this little idea in my head... So... I'll just leave this here. ^^;

Legacy: -
WW II Predecessor: -
Name: Voivode Vlad III Dracula of Wallachia
Alias: The Count, Count Dracula, Vlad the Impaler, Reich's Bane
Relationship to Predecessor: -
Age: Pushing nearly 600 by his estimate

Powers/Skills/Equipment: Superhuman strength - equal of at least 20 strong men. Superhuman agility - able to dodge most attacks from ordinary people and even some from relatively fast superhumans. Superhuman durability - a shotgun blast will down him, but it will be only a minor inconvenience damage wise.

Superhuman reflexes and senses. The ability to vanish in to mist, turn in to a wolf or a bat, to command animals and for short times hypnotize people to do his bidding.

Though he does favor hypnotism, his vampiric strength and durability over anything else he does carry a Walther PPK pistol on him at all times - in his own words 'sometimes you have to demean yourself to fighting your enemies with their own ways'.

Weaknesses: holy objects, cannot enter a building without being invited (public buildings are however fully enterable and in a pinch he can just throw himself through a window). Garlic doesn't impede him for long, but it does make him nauseous. A stake through the heart will paralyze him, but to really kill him you have to both decapitate him and then fill his mouth with garlic - though even then there is a slight chance someone might use black magic to resurrect him.

Appearance: Vlad seems most of the time a man of middle age with graying hair and equally graying, long mustache. He has a hooked nose, gaunt features, strangely pointed ears and in some way unfittingly red lips. He is thin, almost like someone suffering from severe malnourishment.

His trip to England in the 1800's has left him with a scar on his forehead from a shovel - a scar which he is either unable, or unwilling to remove as it serves as a reminder of some sort.

If he so chooses the Count can take on a more youthful appearance - his gray hair becomes black, some of the gauntness in his face disappears and he seems like a man who at least has eaten something in the past three days. The seeming frailty is gone and instead of a slight hunch he walks with his back fully straightened.

These days Dracula has taken to blending in with his surroundings at least a tad bit more than what he did back during the second World War. Though he still dresses in all black he now wears a very fine - Italian made - suit of finest fabrics and a pair of loafers fitting well a man of his seeming age.

Predecessor's History: -
BRIEF Bio:

Works of fiction would often depict the Count as a villain - after all there are very few things more horrible than vampires. After his botched trip to England in the late 1800's - and quite exquisitely making it seem like he was truly dead - he returned back to his castle, more interested in his own little affairs than those of weak humans. However Vlad has shown time and time again that he is fully willing to put his plans in to a complete halt when something truly horrendous comes along - something more horrendous than a vampire? Surely. During the second World War something came along that gave even the Impaler a pause. The nazis. It is rumored that even these days if you happen to get lost in the woods of Wallachia, or Transylvania you occasionally stumble upon frighteningly well preserved corpses - still wearing the uniform of the SS - impaled on iron poles. It is also rumored that many of the more occult inclined scientists of the 3rd Reich sought out Dracula - never to be seen again.

Several decades passed, no-one had forgotten the nazis however - especially not Vlad himself. He had a hunch things would at some point turn bad again and had the little feeling that indeed the nazis would return. Unfortunately the Count was right. Then again talking of unfortunate events... The Reich tried to come to Wallachia. What might be just another rumor was that Vlad actually faced the Master Man in combat - if it is true that must have been a sight to behold. Then again Master Man was far above the nazi threat of the last war and though it is not actually confirmed some reports have indicated that if there was a fight Vlad actually lost it and was either forced or allowed to leave Wallacia.

Roughly a month before the Reich attacked them Vlad arrived to the New World, to America - a place he hadn't visited since the 1970's. He hastily contacted heroes, villains and political figures alike. Though he was not going to take a leadership position against the Reich he was damn well going to make sure that these feeble fools knew exactly on who's side the Impaler stood and exactly what the Reich was going to be going up against. He would help these so called heroes drive back Master Man and his followers in exchange of help at taking back his homeland.

Additional Notes: Amazingly enough Vlad has a sense of humor - it is very dry and sarcastic, but it's there.

@Vulkan Black Adam could work, but yeah you would have to power him down a bit.

@Marcus XVI I would consider accepting this but alpha vampires in superhero themed RPs usually don't work out. Somethink a little closer to Morbius would be cool without the shapeshifting and hypnotizing.

This is still very much open to new recruits! We've had a couple dropouts early on but the remaining 6 person group is still moving forward. The current cast includes Torch, Fission, Mighty Atom, Mysterio, Overload, and Thunderclap.

Hmm... well I personally like the concept, so... How about we make a bit of a compromise?

Since Vlad obviously took quite magnificent a beating his powers have waned - in a 'survival over style manner'. He doesn't have the hypnotic powers any more - nor the shape shifting, apart from maybe a limited use of the mist trick. By limited I mean able to still pull it off, but not quickly and precisely enough to say... let a single bullet pass through a part of his body and then reforming in an instant, but still usable enough for say, stealth operations and such - getting past people without notice and all that.

Now I actually doubt Vlad would be quite aware of how much his powers have waned so... Trying to hypnotize someone and noticing it doesn't work might be a bit of a situation.

Draig

Real Name: Robert Cadogan
Legacy: N/A
WW II Predecessor: N/A
Age: 29
Nationality: Welsh
Powers - [Within Self/Granted By Items]

The Foresight
Years within the Veil of Annwn have honed the supernatual powers within Draig. The magical energies of the realm have imbued into his very soul granting him split second foresight. The Foresight allows him to dodge all but the fastest of attacks, the energies granting him the speed to do so.

Force of Goch
As with the Foresight, the Veil has giving Draig supernatural strength. He is able to throw a main battle tank with a reasonable amount of effort and can punch his way through a bank vault door in one shot.

Light of Essylt
With a quick thought Draig is able to enshroud his entire body in an aura of light. To those of an evil disposition, the light is a thousand times brighter than the sun, blinding them instantly. To those pure of heart, the light is a healing glow, instantly curing all injuries and ailments. Anyone who is caught in the lights beams are affected. Shutting eyes is not enough to protect someone, only a physical barrier will do.

This magical ability requires a lot of energy and results in Roberts powers weakening for several hours afterwards.

Enhanced Durability
As a result of the Bindings of Annwn, Leolin has an increased durability to all damage. His body can withstand a direct hit from an armour piercing tank round and he is able to fall from great heights with no risk of injury.

Teleportation
The Daggers of Annwn provide a direct link to Draigs soul. Draig is able to pinpoint their exact location at all times. He can teleport himself directly to wherever they may be, although the greater the distance, the harder it is on his body. Distances over a mile induce nausea, while distances over 100 miles will result in him immediately blacking out upon arrival. Draig is unable to teleport the daggers to his location. When teleporting, a small cloud of white smoke and bright sparks of residual magical energy are left behind, disipating moments later.

In addition, with several minutes of focussing, Draig can teleport into the Veil with no ill effects.
Items

Daggers of Annwn
The daggers are made of a mystical ore called Gwyn, which is found only in the realms of Annwn. The most comparable material to Gwyn is Uru, which is an ore used by the Asgardians.

The daggers are bound to the soul of the person who owns them, amplifying their magical talents while in their possession. They grant the owner abilities beyond that which they are capable of themselves.

Bindings of Annwn
A cloth and leather like armour in appearance that is imbued with millennia old magic. The energies spread through the wearers body granting increased durability. Much like the daggers, the Bindings are tied to Draigs soul. If they receive any damage they regenerate almost instantly.
Weaknesses - [Within Self/Granted By Items]

Human
While wearing the Bindings of Annwn, Draig is able to withstand the most severe of attacks. Without them he is no more resistent to damage than any other human. While he still has The Foresight, anything capable of landing a blow would essentially be hitting a normal man.

Light of Essylt
While the ability is useful for getting out of tight situations or healing, it's impact on Draigs powers is substantial. He is left much weaker for several hours afterwards.

Annwn Above All
While the Mabinogi are taught by their ancestors to defend humanity, the veil must take priority. Should the Veil fall into the wrong hands then humanity would most certainly be devastated. As such, the Mabinogi are oathbound to defend the Veil above all else if called to its defence.

Bindings of Annwn
The bindings make Draig a veritable juggernaut, however as with most things it does have a weakness. The element silver is able to pierce through the Bindings and their magic as if they were no more than leather armour.
Brief Bio:

On the outside Iolo and Gwyneth Cadogan are a loving couple blessed with a son called Robert, but there is much more to the family than that. Iolo and Gwyneth are part of the Mabinogi, direct descendents of the ancient Druids of Britannia. The Mabinogi are a tribe that managed to pierce through the very fabric of reality through to the Veil of Annwn untold millennia ago. The Veil of Annwn exists in an ethereal realm and is home to very powerful magic. The souls of the dead Mabinogi inhabit the Veil as teachers to the young, passing on the history of the tribe. They teach the importance of humanities preservation and the need to defend it, but are instructed to always put the Veil first. Should it even fall to the Coriniaid, then humanity would be doomed for eternity.

The Coriniaid are another Druid tribe that has existed as long as the Mabinogi. Where the Mabinogi strive to protect humanity, the Coriniaid want to enslave it into total servitude. The two tribes have shared the Veil in equal measure since it's discovery, neither side able to gain ground in the ancient conflict. Should the Mabinogi fall then humanity would be subjected to an eternity of hellish slavery.

Robert has been raised for much of his life within the Veil, learning the history of his people and training to become as powerful a warrior as he can possibly be. Upon reaching the age of 18 he took the Oath of the Mabinogi, the result of which caused the Veil and its magic to fuse into his very being, granting him great strength and power. The Oath is a promise to protect the Veil against the Corianiad at all costs. If the Oath were ever to be broken, the power granted to him would disappear in an instant.

In the years following his taking of the Oath, Robert fought in several long battles against the Coriniaid. There was no victor from these fights, simply a neutral outcome leading to several years of uninterrupted quiet. Neither tribe pushed against the other, deciding to take time to consolodate their power until the next time. It was during this "peace" that the Fourth Reich appeared.

Roberts father Iolo is the Arch Lector of the Mabinogi, the person responsible for defending both the Mabinogi and wider humanity. With the Fourth Reich's invasion of the US, Iolo instructed Draig to leave the Veil and to set about defeating the Axis threat. There was a brief goodbye before Robert was teleported directly into Washington DC.

@AtaxiaIV The only power I'd remove would be Light of Essylt, if you don't mind dropping that one Draig is accepted! I like that he's a more modern hero and has ties to Europe.

@Marcus XVI I'm still not too keen on the whole vampire in a superhero RP idea. The fact he's so old also kinda kills it for me as the central theme of the game is legacies. There's room for more original characters like the one posted above, but the idea of a vampire in a game like this just doesn't fit with what I'm going to do in the context of the story moving forward. And with the track record I've had in past RP's with accepting vampires... I just don't wanna get anybody's hopes up or waste anybody's time. If the character was more like the lab created modern vampire Morbius from Spiderman comics he'd be more of what I'm looking for.
