@poog the pig It's ok xD No one's perfect in their writing really. It's one reason why I don't ask for critiques xD I accept them when they come, but I don't go looking for them. Because people would realise I suck at writing xD

Alrighty man, glad we resolved this.

I just got back from a long road trip, so I was a little tired when I hopped into that.

EDIT:
Hail Satan.

@poog the pig@Vec@Cyclone
I'd first like to thank everyone for thier input, your feedback will go far towards helping me become a better writer.

Now I'd like to start off by saying that I never meant to come off as edgy. I applied Termite's words and chose to walk that thin line, but not cross it.

@poog the pig The thing is that you're wrong. From what I got, child sacrifice was ESSENTIAL to the plot in this case. It was BECAUSE they sacrificed children that they were able to create and enchant their weapons and armor, and in their belief, protect their tribe and people.

Even with that, and not any other justification, I'd say that there's no problem with it being in the post and ofc it belongs in the story. There would not be any story if no sacrifices were made.

I feel that @Vec hit the nail on the head for this post. My intention was to create a tribe whose whole lives revolved around the Harvest and the Occult. While maybe a child may have been taking it to far, I feel that it appropriately dispalyed the levels as to which mortals were willing to go in this would due to belief systems.

While I disagree with you on the fact that it had no place in the story, I can't help but see it from your point of view. To argue your view would be me basically spitting on your face when all along you set out to help me.

I will look to make less use of this style of writing, as I took, hate Young Adult Novels.

(I did enjoy the debate though, very interesting to read thru.)

Thanks for the understanding, man, I guess the child sacrifice issue was my own personal grievances. I would appreciate seeing less of that, if that's okay with you.

If you want to improve your writing technically, you could start by looking for synonyms to words you were thinking about using, and analyzing how a writer, well, writes when you read a book/story. You learn a lot that way.

I think one thing that has been bothering me since the BB's post on magic is that most of the magic is currently without god.

The Adversary's occult for example, how does it work now that the horny underland dude is no longer there?

Furthermore, there are other magiks being constantly created, and it will not stop as we move forward...

Idk, I'm just a bit confused about it.

@Double Capybara I look at it as if the gods are responsible for creating the system by which the universe's essence is converted to a particular type of power that can do specific things. That's magic for me. So by this logic, after it's creation, it doesn't really need a god to exist in order for it to work. It's a system that's just there.

@Vec I understand that, but as I said, some systems like The Occult had direct influence of the god.

To give an example using my character:

If Ilunabar died I imagine stuff like the Raka and her kind of Shamanism would go on. Stuff like the Grand Parade however would be different.

And I think there is some aspect of Magic that is like the latter. Though it can be explained, like minor demons taking over The Occult's sacrifice deals or an automated system being created.

@Double Capybara well, yeah. If it was specifically said that a god was needed for the magic to work then ofc, the magic would break. Unless another god took over or the system itself compensated by creating an entity that took over the god's position?

I think Occult can work totally fine without the Adversary since he added it to the Codex in the beginning of the RP. It's everywhere; Occult magic is a part pf the universe itself.

Other forms of magic made now would probably be weaker in some way or at least less encompassing, and they might fail if the creator or source of power vanished.

That's just my take on it.

DEMONS!! Why haven't I invested time in them! Oh my god, there just there, with no leader! No deity! That my niche! I could spread sin so much easier!

Research I shall!

@LokiLeo789 Actually demons are now under Vestec I think... Which is a bit of a problem no? Recent events considered and all that.

@Double Capybara@LokiLeo789 Actually, demons were always under Vestec, considering they were created inside his Realm of Madness when he dropped Mammon in it :/

@Vec That was my impression but I could swear there was a mention of them in that Rtron way before he took him to the plane of madness.

The properties of The Occult were programmed into the Universe and are an intrinsic property of objects and words and rituals, thanks to the Codex. Mammon was the biggest practitioner and the author, and if he were around he could be the focus of many Occult rituals, but he was not its power source. Mammon defined the set of all possible outcomes for Occult rituals when he wrote it into the Codex (probably not explicitly, but by defining a comprehensive set of rules he, by extension, defined all possible outcomes), and unless these rituals specifically required his present existence (which was not implied in the wording of the creation post, so that would be a niche case) then they would continue to work.

P.S.
@Vec That was my impression but I could swear there was a mention of them in that Rtron way before he took him to the plane of madness.

That same post in which Mammon creates the Occult he also makes a little demon.

One thing I notice in these new forms of Magic is that they are usually derivative from other primal energies.

Amartia's Alchemy seems to be just Logos's power in a stone. And the Shamanism I have been building up is basically just humans dreams mixing with animal dreams.

Though once I get into song magic (by turn 56 at this rate) I will need to go for the ritualistic and occultic forces, as there is no base in Dreams alone that justify the creation of such thing.

Elementalist magic (not to be confused with elementals) and Destruction magic is Astartian in nature right?

But isn't it just easier to give all players Editor access so they can edit their own stuff?

No, that's not on a wikipedia website. That's code. I've got my Python interpreter open. As of current, it makes this:
