@TheWindel

1. A major reason why the Demons were in the lead initially was because other factions would have two people go to a sector and say they were capturing/securing it excetera, but because they didn't specifically state they touched the altar, they wasted actions and didn't capture the point. This felt like Simon Says.

2. Capturing artifacts whatnot is an ok device. Abstracting that to sectors that provide resources over time after you touch an altar makes no sense to me. How are we harvesting the artifacts? Where are we taking them?

3. Did we run out of stuff to take? It seemed pretty clear to me that, given the state of the battlefield, the Machina would have shortly taken control of the area.

4. The system you devised awarded avoiding your enemies and grabbing points without engaging. This was because it was much easier to defend a point than take one from one with any defense, because one person can dance around to oppose your control on the edge of a sector, even if they're not contesting the altar. This was unsatisfying.

If I may.

1. An amount of implication can be taken. This usually helps to either make things flow better or speed things along. Ex: Henry and Sliske both arrived at Sector Gamma, the altar bending to support their faction as the demonic influence reached it.

2. In my opinion at least, they work sort of like Brutal Legend's Fan Geysers. The altar commands resources to head for XYZ coordinates, and they get sent along their way automatically.

3. The Angels basically pushed everyone out. All the demon commanders got killed and the Contender suffered too much damage to keep fighting, therefore Angelic forces gained total control.

4. PTFO

OTOH there was stuff like the Machina army basically owning Sector Theta, but because the Machina players didn't specifically go and cap that point, it was like they were neutral. Further proving that in this game NPC's are literally useless :V

2. Yes, but ambushing said supply trains, or cutting sectors off was not a possible strategy. Shelling a sector from afar would totally disrupt resource convoys and gathering efforts, but, because said gatherers/convoys don't exist, that's not a thing.

3. Did I miss Stark dying? I thought Dorafraki and Tartys were pretty banged up and Stark was completely fresh.

4. PTFO is not a defense against "I think the objective was designed poorly".

In my opinion, plenty of cool things happened this battle, but they happened in spite of the set up, not because of it.

Stark didn't die mainly because things were happening all at once. Thus, I decided to let the battle play out by itself instead of interfering further; though Stark should have been damaged at the end. As for the "poor" objective, we wanted more variety in this battle considering people complained about the straight-up just fight everyone method in the last battle.

The objective wasn't designed poorly. The objective was just different as we were trying out new methods than just the "everyone jump in and fight" one.

First, what @TheWindel said about he objectives is right, we just wanted more than simply a kill'em all battle. Second, if you took the care to read the intro of the battle, you would see that what @Mega Birb said is accurate as well, since I specifically stated that the resources where being teleported out of the sectors and to the faction capitals automatically, thus there was noway to disrupt the process. Furthermore, the resources were named Eldritch Resources for a reason, they were anything physical like gold or wood, but rather some unexplained power that could be used to further the factions goals.

Also, again most of your complaints as well as @Flamelord rely on the fact that you just didn't seem to have paid enough attention to the rules that were provided in enough detail to avoid as much confusion as possible. Which also comes to the fact that, yes nameless NPC are useless when it comes to control of main objectives, after all that's just like they are supposed to be. Would you like to have your spotlight stolen by a random creep? But you could have used them to set up defenses/ambushes and other stuff, etc.

I can't say this enough, just read the rules, they exist to make sure that everything goes smoothly. Is it really that hard to do that? We spend time thinking on the best way to entertain everyone while making the game fair, ignoring this work and complaining about the results feels kinda bad for the GMs as well, y'know?

My initial complaint was that you can't blame me for the ending being disappointing when every sign I got in conversation indicated that you were tired of the battle and wanted it over ASAP. You can't blame me for not bothering to go write some multi page battle royale with Lucius when it doesn't seem like people cared beyond 'end the battle already and you suck for not ending it in a single post like I would have'. So now the battle is over, and you can go entertain yourselves again.

I just realized, with the Leviathan dead, Miyu and Gafdakka don't have any giant monsters to play with.

LET'S FIX THAT SHALL WE?
