Just like that, collision. Blasting into the building on his left, Dom created a stir. The crater left in the wall stirred up dust and rubble. A few guards kicked off over to his position to see which of the projects crash landed. Before they could get in place, like an utter savage, Dom emerged. Eye's blood red, veins across his body pulsating, his adrenaline had taken hold and he was about to unleash his fury. In this state, Dom was not immortal by any stretch of the imagination, but his pain sensor's lowered and energy was his ally. With almost inhuman speed he launched onto the first guard, utilizing the momentum to hurl the body at the guard at his left. The guard on the right stumbled backwards by the shear momentum of the movement. Dom's head whipped to the next guard to enter his site, which happened to be the guard on the ground. Like a wolverine to blood he pounced upon the briefly shocked guard and pounded his skull into the dirt.

It was like clockwork, he wasn't dodging the projectiles but more so kept gravitating from one assailant to the next. It was starting to look like a massacre. His energy may be his ally but time would be his true enemy if he couldn't hold out long enough from Ronan to complete his mission. However, this wasn't a thought going through Dom's mind. No thoughts entered his mind at this state. All this frenzied beast knew was blood right now, and blood was what he was going to get.

"...if you don't, I will"

"You still down to help?"
"Let's go get our brother."

She hesitated. The second Em started running again and then took flight Kal was with her, but then as Karu went back she froze, Fear suddenly reaching her through the rush of Adrenaline that'd pushed her to get this far. She heard Ro and Dom talking, saw them rush to the rescue, but only as she lost sight of them was she able to will her body to move again. "shit.. I'M GOING WITH THEM!" She shouted to whoever might still be close enough to hear her before rushing off.

She could tell where they had gone at least, Dom had crashed into a building and was wreaking anyone who came near him. She hovered above the scene, to be safe, and reach out to him with her mind. "Hey, I'm here to help." She wasn't sure if he could still understand her, but she hoped that by using telepathy instead of speech he could latch onto the meaning of the words better. Next, she reached out to the guards that she could see were trying to stay away from Dom's path, landing near them and speaking out loud as well as planting the message in their minds to make her order more irresistible. Hopefully none of them had worked around her before.

Nevertheless, she spoke with a smile. "Drop your weapons, and go give my friend over there a hug~" If any of them were able to resist... Well, she could handle herself in a fight. This would just be so much more fun if they would all obey.

Emerson

Emerson watched as they flew off and another one followed, a girl by the name of Kallan. With the abilities the three had, they would be able to make it in and out again without too much trouble, hopefully. That was Em's wish at least. Her, herself had begun to fade into the darker backgrounds of the cliff top. The sun was going to set relatively soon, maybe a couple hours. By then, they would all be free. It would be almost impossible to search for them in the dark.

"We need to find somewhere to hold up. I agree that they will look everywhere, but its harder to find certain people, in crowds of other people. It could be our temporary camoflauge until we meet back up with the others." she answered back. Em knew he was right. Those guys would look in every nook and cranny for their lost property. After she thought about her time there, she couldn't help but feel like property. They were caged and not given human rights that part of their DNA granted them. 'I am not property. I'm not going to ever be property again.' she thought to herself, anger filling her thoughts. But then she pushed those thoughts away. Anger wouldn't help her right now. Emerson had to be smart and safe, not reckless. If she was, she would endanger everyone and possibly get herself and/or others recaptured.

She looked at the others, not paying attention, and clipped her wing on the edge of a tree causing her to loose control and tumble onto the ground. "Shit." she muttered. Standing up she stretched and popped her back before glancing at her now raw tipped wing. "Well, looks like I have to keep my eyes on the road from now on." Em joked to herself, hoping no one saw her. If they did, oh well. Happens to the best of them, right?

Though Izuru's eyesight was far from perfect, not even a blind man could've missed that.

"How bothersome," he lamented, spreading his wings out and rapidly decelerating. A fair number of hybrids had already turned to save their brethren-- it only seems fair that Izuru do the same. Whirling around, he raced back to the one who'd fallen. He eyed the clipped wing with scrutiny."...you can't fly like this. Do you have any abilities that can aid you?"

Faintly he remembers one of the hybrids among them to have a
healing ability, but exactly which one was lost on him.

The Director was becoming somewhat irritated, but pleased with the reappearance of other subjects. This was their chance to reclaim a few and when the rest came to save their brethren, they would reclaim them all. He watched the monitors, each showing a different subject. This was good. Their beacon would work perfectly for those that didn't come back. But as his confidence grew, static and a voice came over the speaker.

"Sir, we have radio chatter that more are still hiding. There are a few coming this way. Shall we capture or do the same as the bulky one?"

"Let them have their friend. He will lead us to all of them. A mass collection will be best." The speaker went sioent for a minute, but then another voice popped up, even more annoying than the last making the Director scoff and lose interest in what they had to say.

"Our men are getting hammered out here! Do we retreat?" The Director stood up in his chair and scanned each screen. Each subject help a unique ability and only their handlers would be able to know how to slow them down. "Sir!"

"You're pleas are pathetic. Fall back inside, and leave the dead to rot." He finally spoke.

"But those men have families. They deserve to have the bodies." the voice over the radio disputed his order.

"Would you like to rot with them? Leave the bodies." His tone was cold and full of meaning as he let his words sink in.

There were no more replies, leaving the Director to his plotting as he tapped every screen with a hybrid on it. Counting how many had come he smirked a bit.
"You all are exceeding expectations. Good."

Emerson

'Damnit, he saw. Oh well.' she thought to herself as the other hybrid helped her. "I can fly fine. Or I can run." Emerson didn't want to take the help, even though she did need it. Her wing wasn't in the best condition to fly anymore. It would sting and the pain would cause her to lose focus or slow down the group. She tucked her wing as close to her as she could without it hurting and peered over at the city. If they could find a place quickly, maybe they could find a way to signal the others. But they had to make it a thing only hybrids would notice.
"Shit, if those science freaks come this way, my blood is on that tree. Hell it's on the ground. They'll know we traveled that way." Em's voice was soft as she was deep in thought again.

'Thin, Em, think. Unless I can wrap my wing now or have it healed, I'll be leaving a trail. Damnit, think...' her thoughts kept running around the matter she was trying to think about and kept going back to the group that was going back to save their fallen. Then she hand a quick idea. "If I can remember which one is the healer, I can make a diversion." a smile grew on her face. Em wasn't a fan of bleeding for long periods of time, but if it meant they would have a way around getting caught, then she would go with it.

"Penelope! I need your help real quick!" Em shouted at the group. She was hoping she would hear her. "Hope this works." Emerson said quietly to herself.

Ronan slunk down the halls, following his mental map. If he was remembering correctly, the test chambers should be right around this bend...

He poked his head around the corner, and finding no one began moving down. He poked his head through the first window that came into sight. Nothing. A sterile room. He moved onto the next one, also empty. He stood up straight and ran to each cell. They were all empty. This was going to be more difficult than expected.

Ronan huffed and turned to leave, just in time to see a sleep deprived scientist turn the corner.

(Anyone who wants to be the scientist, knock yourself out, otherwise I'll just do it.)

"Oh god, oh god, oh god..."

Tori crashed through the undergrowth, gasping in pain. One of her wings hung limp by her side, thick streaks of blooding marring the feathers. Each rapid beat of her heart was accelerating the loss. She breathed hysterically, hyperventilating madly. She didn't know if anybody else had made it out of the facility, but she didn't want to take any chances. She'd always been kept isolated; on the rare occasion she'd seen anybody else like her, it had been a quick, elusive glance of somebody, nothing to react to with anything more than a vain longing for socialization. She stumbled on a rock, dizzied by losing blood through her wing's gaping bullet wound.

When the containment breach had occured, she hadn't been able to contain herself. She'd darted out of her cell, running as fast as she could into the open. The sky had been so bright...

She knew damn well that it had been ill-advised, but she'd been unable to stop herself. She was like a thing possessed, flicking her wings out and taking to the sky that she'd never been able to dwell within. The desire, the need, to take off was overpowering. She'd always been meant to fly, she knew. But not once in her eighteen years had she ever had the opportunity outside of a wind tunnel or tiny indoor room more akin to a cage more than anything. For the brief time that she'd been airborne, it had been like being divine.

Then...Bang! She'd felt an intense, immediate pain in her wing and had plummeted uncontrollably to the forest beneath. She'd not been high enough for any kind of real injury, but she had half a dozen minor scrapes and contusions. She'd pulled her wing in as much as she could, but it still caught painfully on the underbrush around her.

So that was her current situation. From up ahead, she heard a commotion. The sound of a scuffle. Then...silence. She peeked out through some shrubbery, teeth chattering, at the hateful scientists retreating into their hell of a compound. From off to the side, she barely caught the flicker of wings and feathers too big to be a bird. She stood tongue-tied, torn between calling out to the other escapees and remaining silent so as to escape notice. In that instance, her eyes hardened and, grimacing, she pulled in the wing fully, taking back into the forest. Her face was set in an angry snarl. She didn't need them.

---

Some time into the trees, she heard something from up ahead. Again. Voices, it sounded like. A long way off. Still bleeding a little despite the pressure she'd applied to the wound, she stumbled into a small clearing and looked around.

Then up.

She swore mightily. EXCESSIVELY. Before her was a massive wall of stone. If she could've flown, she'd be up in a heartbeat. But now...

She swore again, then spat on her hands and rubbed them together. "This," she hissed, "is going to suck."

Em looked around then looked at her wing. It wasn't really reasonable for her to fly at this point, but they had gotten a far enough head start that they could possibly even rest if they wanted. It would take the scientists hours to climb the cliff face. Within that time they could easily vanish.

"Anyone has any suggestions? We're going to have to signal the others eventually. Any brilliant ideas on how to do that without giving up our location?" Emerson took a strip on fabric from her shirt, however small, and bound her wing together making it so she wouldn't use it and accidentally hurt it more. It stung and she gritted her teeth, but it stopped pretty quickly.'That won't last, but it's something.' She thought as she looked at it slightly. It looked very awkward and felt just about as awkward as it looked. Hey, it worked. Can't fight something that works.

For a moment, she sat against a tree and waited for everyone. A short break would help everyone catch up and catch their breath. It was needed, even if it was short. They needed some sot of rest. "We can stay here until we come up with something. I know I need a break." Em smiled and looked up at the sky. Clouds were coming in and they were turning colors of orange and pink. It was pretty, something she was glad she saw. When life was chaotic, people forgot to enjoy the small details of life around them. 'I want to see the sunset every night.' Em thought as she daydreamed looking at the clouds above her. Almost forgetting where she was and what was happening around her.

Tori groaned loudly as she pulled herself, with great effort, up another set of hand-and footholds. The sound of voices was definitely coming from the top of the crag, she was sure of it. Her face was set in a deep snarl, and she paused, breathing so hard it was nearly hyperventilating.

Then, hands aching and quivering with stress, she continued her climb. If she had to guess, she'd say she'd come about sixty feet off of the ground, climbing hard. Her stomach ached, trying to digest itself, and her shoulders and biceps felt like they'd been dipped in hydrochloric acid. The pain was immense. Yet she pressed on, eyes glued to the edge of the plateau, maybe twenty, fifteen feet above and closing more every minute. With another groan that sounded more like a growl, she continued her ascent.

Ten feet.

Seven.

Five.

Each foot was an eternity, and when she finally tossed her arm over the edge and heaved herself up, she sprawled out, heedless of the rock that collided with her forehead. Her breaths were rapid and shallow, and if anything, the increased blood flow from the intense activity only made her wing hurt more. Her limbs felt like Jell-O, and she could barely keep her eyes open enough to notice that she'd been right; she wasn't alone.

She wasn't in a position to do anything about it, though. It would be minutes before she'd be able to do anything more than breathe, realizing that in the time it had taken for her to surmount the enormous stone, the sun had begun setting, painting the sky in a glorious array of fiery colors. She choked out a weak laugh at how appropriate that was.

Eventually, her breaths began to slow, and more oxygen began to flow through her, enabling her to turn her head. She did so, and locked eyes with a girl maybe her age, maybe a bit younger, with a long, unruly mane of red hair. Striving for something that suggested she wasn't basically about to die, Tori opened her mouth, letting lose with what was probably the least-fitting of all words, her wingsβ€”including the injured oneβ€”sprawling on the stone just like she was. The word was laced with deeply-buried pain that she tried desperately not to show:

"'Sup?"

Well, most of the guards fell for it. Their guns fell to the ground, and they all began walking over to where Dom was still wreaking havoc. The rest, two of them, just stood there and looked at her. One even began to raise his gun and take aim at her. "I said, Drop your weapons." The other dropped his gun, and the one about to shoot her hesitated, so she made her move. Running at the guard, she body checked him and grabbed the gun as she did, pulling it from his hands. The other still seemed dazed, trying to fight the urge to do as she said before, and walk into his death.

The one she took the gun from grabbed her as he snapped out of his daze. He wasn't going to fall for her power. She stomped on his feet and writhed as she tried to get away, but all that did was make the guy dig his fingers into her even more. Her mind raced, weighing her options. He was only holding her, but as she struggled she felt him moving to put cuffs on her. She had his gun, and the other one wouldn't stay confused forever...

She didn't aim at anything, she only pulled the trigger. The guard that was holding her screamed out in pain as he collapsed, his left leg badly wounded from the shot she'd taken. As soon as she could, she moved away from him and pointed the gun at the other guard now, closing her eyes as she pulled the trigger again. She heard him scream too, and then a heavy thud as his body fell to the ground. She turned away before opening her eyes again. She didn't want to see the corpse.

"Well well well." A familiar voice spoke to her left, and Kal spun to face the man as he smirked at her. It was Dr. Charon, her Handler. A tall, skinny man with tanned skin and intelligent green eyes that were hidden behind his dark hair and sunglasses. He always wore sunglasses, and that dirty old lab coat. Kal was pretty sure they were stuck to his skin. "Good evening, Kallan."

"Hey doc." Kal raised the gun again, aiming as best she could for the scientist's heart. Charon just laughed and stood there, his arms spread as he dared her to shoot. So she did, or tried to anyway. This time when she pulled the trigger, nothing happened. The gun didn't even make that clicking noise that guns do when they're out of ammo.

"Having troubles Miss Alistair?"

"Don't call me that." She tried to shoot him again, and again he laughed.

"The guns have sensors on them. The trigger locks when someone carrying a Crypto-ID is in the crosshairs." As he spoke, Charon took his ID card from his front pocket and waved it around a little. "It's futile, Kallan." He smiled as she threw the gun away.

"Go die." It was worth a try, using her powers on him.

"Hmmm... no. I don't really feel like it right now." Charon smirked at her again, and she began working out how to get away from him. He knew most of her tricks, and was pretty good at ignoring her orders. This was going to be difficult.
