@OtomostheCrazy Sorry, but I need to be the bearer of bad news. As much as I enjoy the idea of a lanky baker adventurer, I have to say no to the following things; magic and demons. Everyone plays a human and no one has magic here; it isn't really a thing.
Actually, what if I keep most of it, but take out the magic and change them to a human? I'd need to add in a bag of baking equipment, but I think it'd work.
What are your thoughts on a character who's basically an occulist/armchair philosopher sort of character? Always believed in magic, knows it doesn't exist in this world, but believes there must be a way to find it?
Just trying to think of a concept before making a CS.
Name: Gabriel "GG" Gorman Age:22 Gender: Male Appearance:
Coming in at an around average 5'9" Gabriel is not the biggest guy and looks about how you would expect someone of his disposition to look. Glasses, messy hair, and always has some kind of writing implement behind his ear.
Personality: Fresh out of finishing an apprenticeship under the town sage, Gabriel wants to continue his studies. He's a generally happy, if somewhat quiet guy. He doesn't often participate in conversation, but when he's excited about something it's hard to shut him up. One thing about Gabriel that sometimes annoys people is his tendency to make notes on everything. That along with his naturally good memory makes it so he can recall anything at any time. His writing is quite small and leads to him needing fewer books than one might think.
Goal: Knowledge, above all else Gabriel is curious about all things. It would take quite a bit to keep him from trying to find this mystical land
Skills:
Memory 1
Learning 1
Inconspicuous 1
Ability: To be assigned. Inventory:
Two very thick notebooks and writing implements
Magnifying Glass (belonged to his Great Grandfather)
Hope this is good, the last skill basically means if Gabriel isn't talking and you're not paying attention to him you just kind of forget he's there. Thought it might be funny
Appearance: 6 feet tall, and somewhat thin, Wick is a disgrace to her kind. He's often looked at strangely for wearing some sort of costume, one with a mask that has horns, eye slits that are shaped as crosses, and a carved smile. He wears a cloak to expertly hide his torso and long hair, as well as a few hand-held items.
Personality: Pacifistic, dim-witted, kind to all, and somewhat clumsy every now and then. Wick tends to take insults and the like in stride, but is very shy when it comes to his appearance, which is why he wears a long cape and a mask. The most sensitive subject to bring up in a conversation with him is what his gender is, as he tends to respond to being called a man or a woman. He wouldn't be able to make up his mind on a preference.
There are two things that should be known about Wick. The first is that he loves to bake, finding time to do so when carrying the proper ingredients and situation. The second is that he is he can sometimes be naive. The other reason he wears his mask is because the craftsman told him that it would scare off wild animals while collecting wildberries and other ingredients for his baking. He ended up learning how to move fast when that proved to be false.
Goal: To search for and bake with the greatest and rarest ingredients in the lands.
@TemplarKnight07 Cant' really get a grasp on what you're trying to go for, but from what I understood, I think it'll be okay.
@duskshine749 Hmmm. The setting I'm going for is sort of fantasy medieval, so maybe change the university part. As for his skills, maybe you could change Social Invisibility to something more straight forward like Insubstantiality or something that would connote a lack of presence, since that's what you're kinda going for.
I don't mind his infinite supply of notebooks and writing implements, but do note that this could work against Gabriel at one point or another.
@OtomostheCrazy Just a suggestion, I think Confectionery Crafting rolls off the tongue a bit smoother. Anyway, Wick's definitely accepted!
@Bing I'm with you on the university thing, I was just trying to show he's a man of education. I just wasn't sure what I could put to show that. As for the name of social invisibility, I was thinking maybe unassumedness? And I'm totally cool with the possibility of someone stealing notebooks and getting a whole lot of information they probably shouldn't have, maybe if that happens he may stop writing everything

You could make use of libraries or maybe being an apprentice of something like a sage? I don't think that's a word. Maybe Inconspicuous, Subtlety, Indistinct? Yeah, but I was leaning towards the repercussions of carrying that much. How much it would way, the hassle of carry that many items given his physique, and the like.
@Bing I like inconspicuous, I changed university to apprenticeship under a local sage, and added he eventually tosses books, but he's a hoarder so it takes him longer than it should
@duskshine749 We're all good then. And it wouldn't matter if he threw books away since he technically has an infinite amount, right? So he'd still have the disadvantages of carrying a seemingly "infinite" amount of books. I mean, not really sure why you want him to have an infinite amount though. Honestly, he could carry around one or two thick ones and that would last for a while. I mean, how much do ypu plan on actually making him write?
@Bing I mean, you have a point, I was just thinking it'd be funny to have him just pull books out of nowhere and confuse people. But given his physique he'd probably go the practical route and just have a few books for his writings. Changed to having two rather large books and he has tiny writing so he's unlikely to need more
@duskshine749 He could still pull out books from his bag or what he uses to keep them. If he's gonna be consistent with that, I'm pretty sure that sort of quirkiness will be funny on its own.
Anywho, I'll just wait for at least two for characters, then we can proceed to an actual OOC thread and get this thing started.
@Bing Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it :-)! I'm not a drawer, therefore I can't draw the character I have in mind. Is there some sort of website where I can find examples? Or just Google and find something that matches?
Name: Lara Wyatt Age: 23 Gender: Female Appearance: Not too long (165cm/5'4), skinny, brown shoulder length hair worn as a braid. She comes off as a plain Jane with dark brown three quarter pants, a black tank-top and a loosely worn blouse. Lara wears some sort of cloth around her wrist, as if she's trying to hide something underneath it, and brown leather gloves cover her hands. Personality: She's not very talkative and seems to have her own motives for wanting to enter the realm beyond the gate. When she opens up, she's sweet and helpful, but can also be stubborn. Goal: Lara's heard stories about people who've been beyond the gate. Rumor has it they're trapped in there and they've gone crazy while chasing their goals. She wants to find out what happened to them and whether they're still alive.
