Hello Rune! It has been a very long while and I've been sort of dead so that explains it! :P
Also no eating! >.> I'm rotten inside, Rune, so I'd be like those chips with the weird black bits on them and when you bite into them, they taste all uncooked and shit!
@NarcissisticPotato Personally, I'm a fan of Log Horizon too. SAO was definitely a phase and I simply rode the hype when it was released.
As for the time skips, its more of a way to avoid grinding and not really just a jump from one boss to another. As much as I enjoy a good combat post, I appreciate it when players genuinely just interact with each other. Basically, something similar to slice of life; the only difference is that your life is a VRMMORPG.
So yeah, no need to worry. If it would just be influence, Log Horizon for the plot and story then SAO for mechanics.
@Rune_Alchemist I updated the OP a bit, you should check it out.
Also, if you have any job classes/professions that you wanna suggest or discuss, just message me. I enjoy a good discussion.
I'll give you a chance, Jabbers! You got a lot of people hyped for this so don't let them down! Trust me, you don't want to see an angry RuneAlchemist!

I have no idea what you mean by that~
I am an innocent little flower of friendliness pellets and best friend things~
@Jabber I've noticed that, since last I checked this Interest Check, you took out classes and everyone gets a proffession once level 10. Cool! I also noticed you specified 2 ways of attacking: melee and ranged. Now, my question is, can there be something like ranged magical? Like just basic attack magical bolts shot from a staff or orb or wand? Or do you really need to do archery or melee? I'm just asking cause I still want to make a pure mage character (or what's closest to it).

[Advance] — A skill principally used by more assertive combatants to generate threat by using their uncanny speed to advance in the battlefield and within the targeted enemy’s immediate field of vision.
[Endurance] — How physically tough someone is. Increases the damage one is able to take from physical attacks. Higher levels would mean being able to take more hits, be staggered less, and generally how resistant one is to physical forms of damage.
[Evasion] — Activates a sequence chain of evasion; not only increasing chance for avoiding critical hits but decreasing threat of the user’s allies within the duration of the skill essentially increasing threat due to the tenacity of the user.

You mean there’s no logging out?
Hanako Moriyama, or as she was better known in Aether Online, Rael, grinned widely as she crossed her arms in response to the declaration addressed to the entirety of the server’s population of users.
As other players of the game likely scoffed, panicked, or went into a dumbfounded fit of confusion by the in-character portrayal of “The Dark Lord”, it was evident that she had wholly different feelings about it. The prospect of being confined to a virtual world was not entirely unappealing to the purple-haired young adult. In fact, if she had to describe how she immediately felt without filter or pre-thought she would’ve likely said the concept was exciting and freeing rather than being afraid or anxious about it. For her entire life she had been tasked with maintaining expectations from not only her family but the community as well; forced to deal with the drudgery of social popularity and comprehending the demands of being a model student. In fact, she was pretty much sure she was the only one who saw the virtual captivity as a blessing in disguise to the level she did— all of the trappings of society’s expectations, judgment, and incessant demands were now irrelevant and the true escapism she desired was finally obtainable.
A laugh escaped her lips as she continued to process it all; especially the irony of her confinement cumulating in her absolute freedom.
But even through her “liberty” she was not so naïve to think of the consequences and risk of her new reality. As exciting as all of the news was for her, there was a lot to take in and consider and the questions began to enter her mind almost as soon as her initial bewilderment faded from thought. Did they require to eat to maintain themselves? Did the mechanics change due to the full immersion that was likely to take place? What happened if someone was to die?
Was this one of those situations where her and everyone else’s lives in AO were now absolute, where they had to be wary of even the slightest mistake? Would they die outright if their health reached zero? or would this be a case of countless revivals at resurrection sites? If she “died” would she have to wait for a cleric to arrive to rescue her? The entity had not explained how perilous death was in the game, a fact that was likely the cause of much anxiety by the server’s populace. Why did this being that called himself a dark lord only tell them that they couldn’t log out? An important question that many would have to either die to find out or await another appearance of the mysterious entity.
The smartest decision is to find a group right now. Deal with less significant issues later; if I know VMMORPG players as well as I think I do, things are about to get... violent.
Rael’s amber eyes narrowed as she looked at the nearest crowd— looking for anyone who might be eager to have a comrade in arms. Once she saw someone of interest she walked forward before speaking confidently.
Wow this picked up a lot faster than I thought it would. I have an idea for a Cleric- an Off-tank support style Cleric with a big hammer focusing more on protecting rather than magical stuff.

Well that's a name I haven't seen in like two years. Ayyyy.
Annd...done I think. Pretty sure I am. Might pretty up the CS later but for now It's got all the basics and needed items covered.
@vietmyke My character is planned to be purely offensive, just thought I'd add. We have almost zero clerics/healers I think.
"...sorry, did you want something?"
Standing at a fairly tall five foot seven, Tis is a fair bit taller than your average girl. She has bright, reddish hair that falls to just below her shoulders along with a pale complexion and light brown eyes. In game, her somewhat messy reddish hair is much more nicely kept, and is tied up.
-IRL Information-
IRL Name: Isabel Scott
Age: 18 Sex: Female Theme: To be added later.
Background:
Isabel is a fairly, shall we say, spoiled, person. At least, she's about as 1% of the population as they come. Born into money though she's had far from what some might say an 'easy' life. She grew up in a particularly strict household. Her father was a stickler for academics and while he was perfectly friendly, he always had a habit of demanding the absolute best from anyone. No one got any breaks or got cut any slack. Eventually, this lead to the divorce of him and his wife when Isabel was thirteen.
Isabel, was no exception either. If she didn't have the best grades in school, she got in trouble. If she did something even remotely wrong, she got in trouble. It was...rather difficult, but for the most part she played the good little angel. Her only stress relieving activities, were her martial studies which her father consented too somewhat reluctantly. So her life continued in such a fashion until she turned 17 and had enough of that. A rebellious phase. Most all teenagers have it.
And well, she got a pretty violent one. She finally got fed up with being the good guy. The one everyone relied on for advice, being the smarts of the small group of friends she had at school, and after countless arguments with her father and deciding that University wasn't worth it, she upped and left, and withdrawing money from her bank account before her father could say no she moved out.
She has never played a video game in her life, let alone VRMMOS, but hey...she needs an escape from reality.
Personality: At first, Tis would probably come off as cold, somewhat uncaring and aloof. Seemingly taciturn and serious, she doesn't particularly speak much to others unless spoken too first. Even then, she typically keeps her sentences short and to the point. This, has a tendency to make people somewhat wary of her seriousness. She would like nothing more than to get along with other people, but unfortunately her serious and no nonsense attitude tends to make that a bit difficult to accomplish for her. Doesn't help she tends to freeze if people start actually praising or complimenting her, or getting overly friendly either which can make some people think she doesn't appreciate it. She does, but she's too busy trying to reboot her brain to say anything.
That said, she is incredibly competitive, and any sort of competition be it fighting or any other test of skill, is just one way to get her to loosen up quite a bit. Levelheaded most of the time, it's also rare for her to lose her cool and panic in a lot of situations...except for those with heavy social interaction. It should be noted, she does have a rather...explosive temper at times, but it's rare that she is ever angry.

So they weren't able to log out now, and it wasn't a bug? Well, that was fun. Were all MMO's like this? She doubted it. Not that she particularly cared about being able to log out or not - if that's what happened, then that's what happened. No since in throwing a fit over it...besides, she wasn't really intending to log out anytime soon when she signed up. She was certain other people would probably be more than a little put off by it, but it wasn't a huge bother to her. Isabel...or was her name Tisiphone now? She might as well go by Tis - wasn't like she was going back to the real world anytime soon and it was probably what everyone else was going to be calling her.
She stretched, yawning and hopping off the rock she was sitting on just outside of Sanctuary. When the little announcement had been made, she had just finished some small beginner quest, and she had to say it had been the most fun she had in ages. Sword fighting was surprisingly fun. She could have gone with punching things to death, but learning another skill such as swordplay had been pretty fun.
She supposed she should think about what she should do now, shouldn't she? Maybe she should find some other people that were stuck here. She wasn't much of a people person - or rather she was socially awkward around most people and wasn't entirely certain how to speak most of the time.
And she didn't know anyone here.
...Tis stopped in her tracks, a small frown forming. She had never particularly been fond of making small talk with people - it was difficult. She scratched her head...perhaps it'd be better not to?...Grinding skills sounded better, yep. If she was stuck here she definitely didn't want to die, so getting better at fighting would make sense...but then so would getting to know other people. She sighed. She'd have to do it sooner or later, so she might as well get it over with, right? She took a few steps towards Sanctuary...before turning on her heel and walking right right back out.
Fuck that, she wasn't doing it, nope. Human interaction was not her forte. Nope nope, wasn't happening.
Maybe a thief.... I have a lot of ideas bubbling around... My character, going for a Summoner-Mage. While the mage herself won't be very tanky, the summon will... :D She won't have the summon to start- I guess that'll be her first skill she picks up as a mage.
Username: Allune IRL Name: Sara White Age: 16 Sex: Female Theme: Optional.
Background: Born the second child to a rather modest family, Sara is the youngest daughter of a baker and police officer. Despite her modest circumstances, she lived a rather pleasant childhood, with a caring older brother, and a loving family. She proved to be quite bright as a child, Sara and her brother were well educated at a young age and were taught manners as well as many homely skills such as cooking and cleaning. Throughout their childhood, Sara's older brother would often take her into the city to play with other children. Sara had difficulty making friends, she was shy and was known for her gentle and sensitive demeanor, while her brother was well respected and outgoing.
With her parents often busy with work for long hours, Sara latched onto her brother Logan, as a source of comfort and guidance, and formed a strong bond with him. Her brother raised and taught her almost as much as their parents did, and Sara obediently followed in his every step. This included her brother's love of video games. When she was younger, she would often sit in her brother's room and watch him play video games with his friends or by himself. Occasionally, her brother would invite her to play as well. The connection between her brother and video games would later lead her to become a bit of a gamer herself. a
When her brother announced that he had gotten a scholarship to a prestigious technology school on the other side of the country, Sara was heartbroken. Before he left though, Logan bought Sara a LexNav headset and a copy of the new VRMMO, Aether Online. The two siblings promised that they would play with each other, and Sara eagerly immersed into the game, eager to be able to play games with her brother.
Personality: Shy and timid, Sara is a quiet young girl with quiet and passive demeanor. This level headed young girl tries her best to stay brave and rational in the face of hardship and adversity, despite her youth and inexperience. Honest and trustworthy, Sara is compassionate and kind, if a little soft-spoken and a bit of a wallflower. Loyal to a fault, Sara cares deeply about her loved ones, and is willing to go to great lengths to defend those she cares about. Very down to earth, Sara doesn't react well to surprises and prefers familiar and comfortable to extraordinary and otherworldly. Sara can be rather self conscious, and has a habit of second guessing herself, despite any talents she may possess.

Turns out, being limited to 3 spells/abilities is really, well, limiting. Passive Abilities are so much more broad in what you can do with them, while spells are stuck being the specific spell that they are- unless we're allowed to break them down into general 'earth magic' or 'fire magic'
I love this concept. Consider me in, but I see ideas are still changing. So Im going to hide in the shadows before coming up with a CS and wait for further inspiration. I always go mage/ death mage. A idea I would like to throw out is upgrading gear. Or is it already established you can upgrade the gear you have to the next level? To you keep any special effect the weapon/armor may hold(Like upgrade my common fire sword to a rare).
