Name: Eriko, Hirata. She's not one for formality though, so Eriko will do just fine.
Age: 17
Appearance: Eriko is about as physically unimpressive as they get. Standing at just five foot four with a small, slender frame, she can come off as rather unassuming sometimes. Typically, she wears plain, comfortable shirts and pants with sneakers. She doesn't particularly care much about fashion or her appearance, and often has a somewhat unkempt look to her. A small smile seems to always be on her face.
Otherwise, whilst on the job she is dressed in mostly green, blues, and whites. A rather elaborate corset that covers most of her chest, and that falls to just below her waist. A cape covers her shoulders and upper back, while a small skirt covers the back of her legs.
Personality: Confident, but a bit of a troll and likes messing with people and often does her best to annoy and get on everyones nerves. Clever, crafty, and surprisingly intelligent she doesn't lose her calm that often and has a level head most of the time. That said, she's fairly friendly and likes people, being around them, and generally hanging out around others. She has a penchant for being fashionably late and making flashy entrances, and a flair for the dramatic.
Likes to spend her time reading, eating tacos and delicious cheesy nachos. Doesn't like small rodents, but ferrets are adorable. So are spiders. She thinks they're absolutely adorable and wants a giant spider as a pet.
Hero Name: 'The Fabulous Magical Girl, Glimmer Light!'
...I'm terrible with names, mmkay?
Abilities: The Shining Arsenal Eriko has an assortment of weapons at her disposal - which she may materialize whenever she has need of them. Her skill with each varies drastically, but for the most part she does have some skill with them. Each weapon is made of condensed 'light'. She can realistically make almost any weapon that she wants, but at the moment her skill with anything other than her main three is quite limited, so she mostly keeps to them. Aside from this, she has several light based attacks used to confuse, and also attack enemies.
Glimmer Needle - A magic spear that is her main armament. She is quite adept at using it in close range combat, though against someone who is purely a close range fighter, she'd probably struggle somewhat against. It is the weapon she is the most adept at using. It's swings are slower and more calculated, but offer greater force behind the blows.
Shimmer Blade - A light, easy to use sword that is designed to perform quick, light strikes with.
Heavenward Halberd - Easily her largest weapon. So large in fact, it's rather comical to the point of her being actually unable to physically use it that well. One swing, and she'll likely be tossed to the ground from the momentum. Often used to make her 'flashy' entrances. And by that, I mean throwing it and saying she meant to destroy whatever it landed on.
Gleam Volley: Probably her most used offensive ability next to Needle Shot. A a number of arrow-shaped beams designed to pierce the target are launched. The beams are small, and don't individually do much damage, but dodging all of them could get annoying.
Needle Shot: Several short beams of magic shaped like small needles form around Kaori, and are fired at the target. Can be fired semi-rapidly. Second weakest attack, but still packs a bit of a punch. Can also be held onto be fired later, but can only save up to a max of ten at a time. All can be fired at once, after this.
Needle Burst: Several orbs of bright magic are launched at the target. Upon impact, they detonate and unleash several Needles in a radius from around the orb. Can be detonated at will, so they don't have to be entirely accurate. Could lay down a mine field as well, though the number of mines she could keep up would depend on her. Too many and she could quickly run out of magic.
Shimmer Blast: Probably her strongest normal ranged attack. She uses magic to cause an explosion in an area some distance away from her. A yellow glimmer is seen on the target area, before it violently explodes in a flash of brilliant yellow sparks a few seconds later. Easy enough to dodge, but be careful you don't run into one while dodging something else. It roughly has a radius of several yards away from her.
Glimmer Bang: After a period of charging any weapon in the Shining Arsenal with magic, she can use it to cause the area in front of the weapon to explode with magic energy. Takes a minute or two to charge a shot.
Flicker: A spell that she uses to dodge attacks - gives her a brief, but incredibly powerful speed boost that almost looks like teleportation to the untrained eye. She can use these quite quickly and in rapid succession, though using more than four or five in rapid succession without resting will tire her out quite quickly. Also allows her to levitate a few feet above the ground.
Fade: Creates one temporary decoy of herself that lasts for a few moments on the field. It is virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. It can not harm or interact with the world.
Spark Flash: A harmless, but blinding flash of light is unleashed, temporarily blinding any who look at the impossibly bright flash. Even allies or herself, so make sure to close your eyes before she uses it.
Solar Flare: Possibly her most powerful offensive move, and the most exhaustive and draining. She gathers magic inside of any weapon, unable to move for the duration of the charging - which can take anywhere from a minute to five should she have to also defend herself during the charging. After it is done, she aims the weapon upwards, and strikes downwards towards the enemy. An Enormous pillar of searing light blasts the enemy, completely obliterating anything in its path, often times most likely leaving a large crater in the epicenter.
This is a one time use thing. After its been used, she's likely exhausted all of her magic power, and won't be able to use it again, or be much more effective in battle after that. With further training and experience, though, she could probably use more than one in the future should she need too.
More to be possibly added later.
Skills: -Combat training with most of her weapons. -Makes the best damn tacos and nachos you've ever eaten. Why are they so good? No one knows, but don't try and take any she has or you'll be getting a halberd to the face. -Can't cook anything else to save her life, though.
Brief Backstory: The youngest of three siblings that come from a family with a strong magical heritage, her brother was a bit of a delinquent that never particularly was interested in such things, while her sister took a more serious, if somewhat lackadaisical approach. From a young age, Eriko admired her sister, wanting to be a magical girl and a hero just like Kaori. That said, most of her life until the age of fifteen, was rather normal. There's not much to say here until we get to the day where her sister was fighting some bad guy, and eventually determined to become a magical girl in order to support her sister some day.
Since then, she has become a member of the Omamori Foundation, and is working towards that goal.
Appearance:"Th-this isn't what I had in mind a-at all!" Yuki has light pink hair, pink eyes, and light skin. She's on the short end of average for a Japanese girl, perhaps even slightly below. Her magical girl outfit is black and pink with white frills. Yuki's casual wear is currently her old male clothes, as she is too nervous to buy girl's clothing and she hasn't gotten a female school uniform yet. (Someone should help with the clothes thing, really. <.< >.>)
Personality: Yuki has always wanted to be a hero. To be someone who can protect the innocent and help others. And, even now, she still holds that desire firmly in her heart. Beyond this, she is something of a straightman. She becomes exasperated easily, questions things, and is quite easily flustered. In fact, she is very easily flustered or embarrassed, given certain... things about her situation. Still, even with what has happened, Yuki strives to be a good heroine, and possesses a wealth of determination and fire in her heart(hence her title). She is a bit temperamental, however, especially given her situation. Regardless, Yuki won't stand for the harm of innocents or attacks on allies, quite simply because that is not what a true hero does. A true hero, in Yuki's mind, will always fight even when things look grim, will always step up and keep going, will always intervene to save the life of an innocent. To a true hero, in Yuki's mind, if the option is between kill one to save a thousand or let a thousand die to save one, they thrust both options aside and find a third option that saves everyone instead.
Hero Name: Magical Girl Inferno Heart Yuki
Abilities: Using the gem on her necklace, Yuki can clad herself in the form of a magical girl. In this form, her speed and strength are enormously enhanced, allowing her to even scale a building by running if she builds up enough momentum, and damage thick armor with her punches and kicks. She is also vastly more durable, able to resist things that could seriously injure a human and recover from intense damage. With the assistance of her fairy, Lulilu... li... Luli... Lu... Ruru, she can heal her own injuries as well as others, provided they're not very serious(really it's just her fairy doing it). Yuki also possesses special attacks as a magical girl.
Lovely Heart Punch!: Yuki's fist becomes engulfed in pink flames, and she hits her target very hard, resulting in a small, pink, fiery explosion.
Lovely Heart Kick!: Basically the same as above, but a kick. Shocking.
Heart Bomber!!: Yuki punches the air numerous times, firing a stream of heart-shaped exploding projectiles at the target, bombarding them with exploding hearts.
Heart Missile!!: Yuki winds up and punches as hard as she can, even though there's literally no way this could possibly hit. Except it fires a missile of heart-shaped magical energy that explodes on impact. That's a lot more likely to hit then the punch is, though combining a successful punch with Heart Missile!! would hurt.
Giga HeartBreaker!!!: Yuki's most powerful attack(so far) and her finisher, Yuki's entire right arm is engulfed in pink fire. A heart-shaped force-field forms on her fist, and she rockets towards her target. Any regular monster is likely going to be exploded from the impact, and stronger ones will at least be injured. This attack can also power up from sheer determination.
She also has a very powerful ahoge.
Skills: Yuki is actually an okay cook, especially when it comes to ramen.
Brief Backstory: Nishimura Yukihiro was a pretty ordinary teenaged boy. Sure, he had dreams of being a hero, but nothing ever seemed to come his way. No superpowered suits, no magical transforming belts, no scientists revealing he's the descendant of some kind of ancient hero... nope, nothing. At least, until one night... a mysterious female voice offered him the power to protect people! She told him he had potential! What kind of self-respecting dreamer wouldn't say yes?! Only, well... there were some details that were left out of the agreement. For starters, Yukihiro didn't expect to be transformed into a girl. And it's not like it only lasted for while she was fighting, either. No, this transformation was permanent. Ruru helpfully explained that it says, in her rulebook, "MAGICAL GIRLS CAN ONLY BE GIRLS!", a rule she was instructed to take very seriously as a fairy companion. Since then, Yuki has struggled with trying to wear her old male uniform at school(the new one can't be too much longer, but it's so embarrassing to think about wearing!) and the fact that her mother is much less distressed about the situation then she thought she'd be... and that some of her friends are a little less then bothered too. Especially the magical girl fangirl. Still, even in this situation, a hero is a hero, and Yuki won't let herself forget that! Which is probably why she joined the Omamori Foundation, really.
Appearance: He's about average heightwise, standing at 5'7". As Celestial, he wears a black undersuit with a constantly shifting star pattern, as well as a breastplate with white gems arranged to resemble the form's constellation, pauldrons, vambraces (the Compass being incorporated into the right one) and greaves. The colour of these armour pieces changes based on his current form (yellow for Leo, red for Sagittarius and blue for Aquila). In addition, the suit's helmet changes, they each have large green eyes, with Leo's baring a stylised mane design, Aquila's having a feather-like design and Sagittarius's resembling a stylised Corinthian helmet.
Personality: Akira is a generally pleasant and cheerful individual with a penchant for terrible puns. He tries to do the right thing, regardless of any risk to himself and has a strong sense of justice. He's generally good at controlling his temper, but threatening or attacking those who can't defend themselves is a good way to get him mad. While he's not completely inflexible, he can be somewhat stubborn once he's set his mind on something. Unfortunately, this means he's unlikely to retreat when fighting a superior opponent and can take a bit to be convinced to follow someone else's plans. He has a massive sweet tooth and is rarely seen without some form of confectionery.
Hero Name: Shining Hero Celestial
Abilities: Akira carries the Celestial Compass, a golden brace with a large white gem embedded in it. By attaching the Compass to his right wrist and shouting an activation phrase, he can transform into the armoured hero, Celestial. As Celestial, his strength, endurance and speed are enhanced to above-human levels, though the exact levels vary between the forms. Each form has a "Nova" attack which, true to the name, displays far more power than normal. However, these abilities tend to be draining enough that they're generally only used to finish a fight.
Leo: Akira's "all-rounder" form and the strongest melee fighter of the lot. In this form, he relies heavily on hand-to-hand combat and can create energy claws to power up his attacks. Leo Nova gives Hinata a sudden burst of energy, allowing him to unleash a barrage of empowered claw slashes on a target.
Aquila: Aquila is more fragile and not as strong as either of his other forms, but makes up for it with vastly superior mobility. It's faster than his other forms and Hinata can create wing-like structures to allow for limited flight. Aquila Nova increases Hinata's speed for a short time, allowing for a devastating diving kick.
Sagittarius: The least mobile and weakest melee fighter, this form makes up for it with rapid fire ranged attacks. Sagittarius carries a bow which creates a fiery projectile when its string is drawn back. Sagittarius Nova requires a short charging period, after which Hinata fires a larger than normal arrow at high speed. This projectile creates a large explosion on impact.
Skills: Akira is a competent fighter and a member of his school's archery club.
Brief Backstory: Akira is the only child of an office worker and an archaeologist. His father spent a lot of time travelling, and often returned with stories about ancient civilisations and the artifacts they had left behind. His life was mostly uneventful until roughly a year ago. His father was returning from Greece and Akira was to meet him at the airport. A number of individuals in dark robes set upon them in the terminal, attempting to steal his father's briefcase. During the attack, the briefcase was knocked aside and a strange voice called to Akira, seemingly from within it. Time seemed to slow as he opened it to find the golden brace and put it on. Thanks to the Compass's power, he was able to chase off the strange assailants and protect his father. A few weeks later, he was approached by a representative of the Omamori Foundation and has worked with them since.
Name: Badurong Broadcasting Network Executive Spandez, Ordained Master of the Late-Night Timeslots, The Almighty Lord of Bloodsport Age: Yes Appearance:"IT'S TIME FOR THE LIGHTNING ROUND, FOLKS!"
Personality: On stage, Spandez is cheery, jovial, and constantly smiling. As a gameshow host should be. However, he is also a bloodthirsty tyrant who draws sustenance from sentient creatures' desire for violence. He relishes the sights and sounds of combat, and is eager to throw contestants at a planet until it's ready for conquering. He speaks Japanese, but it's obvious that he's a foreigner. He gets furious when someone mentions the word "Hiatus." He can't resist showing off. He also has a very low pain threshold until transforming, meaning he tends to chicken out fairly quickly. As the Almighty Lord of Bloodsport, he is easily angered and becomes incredibly bloodthirsty, lashing out at friend and foe alike. Thus, he will not return to his giant form unless absolutely necessary. Perhaps most damningly, he's bound by the most powerful force in the universe: ratings. While he COULD just have his ship blow a chunk out of Earth and render it uninhabitable for human life, that doesn't make for good TV.
Abilities: Spandez is, surprisingly, quite quick and quite heavy. His chitinous shell is fluted like a bird's bones, but due to his compressed body, his nerve endings are tightly packed. Thus, while his shell can stop tank shells, it will still hurt like the dickens. Being the Lord of Bloodsport, he's immortal. As long as something somewhere in the universe gets a kick out of violence, he'll be back eventually. Additionally, he can call for a "Lightning Round"- reviving a destroyed monster as a giant. When the situation gets dire and there's no other way out, he can return to his true form- an insect the size of a city block called The Almighty Lord of Bloodsport.
Skills: A talented presenter, a flawless spokesman, and a ruthless dictator. Also knows how to hype up fights like nobody's business.
Brief Backstory: Spandez is, in fact, older than many benchmarks for "old." He might actually be among the oldest living beings in the cosmos, as he was born when the first sentient creature thought how awesome it would be to see two animals fighting. Spandez is the literal embodiment of bloodsport, from gladiatorial combat to violent sporting events. He spent a long time as a spacefaring conqueror, setting up gladiatorial arenas to amuse and feed himself. But he began to notice that a lot of other creatures would pay to get in… which led to profits, which led to faster expansion, which led to more spectacular arenas, which led to more power for himself.
One day, thousands of years later, an agent for the Badurong Corporation came to Spandez's Skull-Palace of Pain and explained the wonders of television to the Dark Lord of Bloodsport. The Network could not only broadcast his gladiatorial matches to the universe, but harvest the energy created by those enjoying the battles. They even offered to provide more unique equipment and gladiators (be they insubordinate employees, a bored Action Commander, or a prisoner from another world), provided they got a cut of the advertising revenue. Spandez even got a free cable package, which led to him discovering a gameshow.
His gladiatorial matches had many contestants, but very few were volunteers. It had many fans, and many viewers, but also many decrying the barbaric spectacle. But gameshows… people were willing to do insane things for those prizes. They would humiliate themselves in public. They would take candy from children. They would leave people stranded on alien worlds with no food and water if the prize was great enough. And that's when Spandez hit upon the idea that all his gladiatorial matches needed was a fresh spin. And thus he hit upon an idea. Badurong would offer prizes to his contestants. The contestants would sow chaos and discord on planets. If the contestants won and managed to conquer the planet, they'd get legal ownership of it and a choice between becoming a planetary governor or handing it over to the Network's Mining and Exploitation Branch for a hefty prize. If they lost, they'd often do enough damage to the planet's infrastructure through the gameshow's challenges to make conquering the planet much easier for the mercenary forces of Badurong. This brilliant stroke elevated Spandez from a powerful warlord to chief executive of the Badurong Broadcasting Network and a trusted enforcer of the CEO.
Now, for the Spandez Conquest Hour's 5,104th season, the show has come to an unassuming little planet in the sol system to continue the Badurong Corporation's systematic subjugation, exploitation, and commercialization of all sentient life.
Appearance: Standing at a rough five-foot-four with a small, slender build, Aiko's most distinctive features are her soft, pale skin and her red hair and eyes which she emphasizes with carefully chosen frilly dresses and other clothing with an elegant-yet-cute look to them. Her "work uniform" by comparison is much the same, albeit a bit flashier, with a primary black color accompanied by pale red frills and accents. Her magic tome is always kept close, typically hidden in a bag or purse when in her casual attire, or strapped to her side while transformed.
Personality: Aiko is gentle and soft-spoken, typically keeping a "proper" and polite demeanor in front of most people, though her speech tends to become far more excitable and playful in front of people she's more comfortable with. Overall she is a kind and trusting person, unwilling to betray innocents or those that she cares about, but she can show a surprisingly harsh side as she is fully capable of taking part in trickery or manipulation if it provides her an advantage or if she thinks the target is deserving of it.
Hero Name: Moonlit Pink Rose Abilities: Aiko's transformation into her magical alter ego comes with an increased agility and strength, as well as access to several magical techniques granted by the tome she carries. The tome is durable and resistant to all but severe forms of damage thanks to its magic, but as it is the source of Aiko's powers, her magic and transformation fade if she is too far from it (it has a range of roughly 50 feet).
Claws of Night - Conjuring claws of darkness over her hands, Aiko is able to turn her own bare-handed attacks into a formidable weapon.
Wings of Shade - Shadows form into bat-like wings on Aiko's back, allowing her to fly short distances.
Shadow Cloak - Aiko is able to coat herself in a veil of darkness when in the shadows, rendering herself invisible while she remains out of direct light.
Night's Embrace - Grasping vines of darkness reach up from the nearest surface, wrapping around Aiko's chosen target and constricting them, holding them in place. The vines are durable, though breakable by an enemy of exceptional strength, and can only be conjured while Aiko is within a few yards' distance. Only one set of vines can be maintained at a time, making them difficult to use against multiple targets.
Moonlit Rose Thorn - Aiko can briefly conjure a large spear of shadows and toss it at a foe, dealing severe damage if it hits. Typically used as the final blow, especially on a target held by Night's Embrace, as the spear only lasts for a few moments and summoning it leaves Aiko exhausted and vulnerable to counterattacks.
Skills: She's not terrible at knitting or painting. Not as good as she'd prefer, but she can do it.
Brief Backstory: Aiko was raised from a young age amongst a rather diverse family with equally diverse skills, yet few of these skills really stuck with Aiko at all, leaving her mediocre at best in most subjects or absolutely atrocious at worst (as in the cases of housework and cooking) in a few others. As she grew, she yearned for her own talent and skills that she could take pride in, but none came as easily as they seemed to for her family. That was, at least, until the evening she discovered an old trunk that belonged to her late grandfather, gathering dust in a corner of her home's basement as no one had bothered to look through it in years. Amongst the contents - mostly artifacts and antiques of various cultures that Aiko's uncle had researched over his life - was a strange book with a dark cover and some indecipherable language written on its pages. The moment Aiko opened the book out of curiosity, a shadowy black magic flooded forth from it, attaching itself to Aiko. Though panicked at first, Aiko found herself quickly learning how to use the magic of the tome and became quite fond of it, realizing this could be her own, unique talent. Aiko adopted the identity of Moonlit Pink Rose, an identity which she now wishes to make famous as the ultimate proof of her skill, even now as she works under the Omamori Foundation. Albeit, the "fame" part is a bit difficult with powers of shadow rather than something showy and flashy, but she's working on it.
