I'm interested in joining, though I have a question about the attributes. Do we have 20 skill points to add to each of our stats, or can we lower certain stats to get more points to use? I've noticed a few character sheets do both where they either only add 20 points to their ten, or lower the default ten and assign the rest of the points to other skills.

Thank you, I do have a few more question though.

I know you don't want armor from Dark Souls 3, but what about spells? Because my character is actually based off the assassin class but with different starter armor, but I was hoping to have Spook, Farron Dart, and Chameleon. Her fighting style involves hiding from the enemy until she can get the drop on them.

@RyonaraChameleon is a spell based upon Oolacile magic, so no to that at the moment but you can acquire it later in the roleplay - as far as magic goes I'm allowing every spell in the series - spook is allowed, as is farron dart.

The main reason I don't want Dark souls 3 armour is down to the fact that it's the same land as dark souls one but further in the future- by a great deal from the looks of it; the watchdogs are an exception on that front, and no doubt a lot of other things are but It would take far too ong to list everything and I'm basically going off a "I'll tell you if it's okay or not basis".
The Vinheim assassin armour is fine too.

Hmm. That's a shame, I love using Chameleon to sneak up on my enemies. How about items like the Silver Talisman, Bright Bugs, or Rogue Waters? Also while I know we shouldn't be using game mechanics to limit everything we can do in this RP, I am curious how we're going to manage spells. Will we have a focus bar, or will we only be allowed to use a certain amount of spells before needing to rest at a bonfire? And speaking of mechanics, while in-game it's not possible, could I use my estoc to parry? In Dark Souls 2 I used a rapier over an estoc for my caster character since she can still parry even with it as a right-handed weapon.

@RyonaraThe only item barring the estus flask that can restore your health in this is the Divine blessing, so no to the Rouge waters; also the more complex the item and expensive, the fewer you can have of them on your person at the beginning as well as how rare they will be found during the roleplay.
I had planned on giving my OOC a bit of a clean up, but I'm a bit pooped at the moment, I've typed a good 20 pages this evening on other projects and my CS for this.

So barring health restoration items, with the exception of Divine blessing most other items are in this roleplay - spell uses are restored at bonfires.
If your character is a pure mage, then typically I will allow them to use spells far more often than those whom are more combat focused but utilise spells to enhance themselves, so from what you're saying with you character I can see they are very reliant on spells; as such they will be able to cast them a lot prior to resting.
I'm not putting numbers on things because that pushes D&D territory, I'm leaving it to the discretion of the roleplayer and putting faith in them that they will use them responsibly.

In terms of parrying, it's a dangerous venture to do that if you're not a very dexterous character - unlike the games where dexterity has nothing to do with it.
Dexterity is how swift one can be, the more dexterous one is the easier and more reliably they can parry - as a squishy assassin type character, parrying wouldn't be a recommended avenue of defense, unless of course you plan to have your character dexterous enough to be able to parry effectively.

Trust me when I say I loathe having numbers in this roleplay; I believe good roleplaying and utilising what you have based on the scenario given should define outcomes, not statistics - but in this element its more common sense, someone who is light and quick will be far more capable of parrying than those who rely on brute strength or magic to deal with their problems.

Technically any blade is capable of parrying, but the smaller and thinner ones are far more likely to be successful in doing so; so in answer to your question, yes you can.

Cool, thank you. My character will hopefully be rather dexterous, as she relies on these critical hits or her spells to do damage. She lacks the sheer brawn to slug it out with other warriors or knights, what with being an assassin and all. The best armor is to not get hit.

One final question, how will our characters be obtaining misc items and equipment? I imagine that we'll have merchants to buy things from, though I was hoping that my character could be a sort of herbalism who could grow/make her own consumables, such as Green Blossom, Bug Pellets, and Resins? Not that she'll have an infinite amount mind you, but just something she could trade with others or use for herself.

Herbalism, hmmm that's an interesting little twist- I like it, the main base of operations is Farron keep, so you could plant stuff there and then harvest them after a mission is complete and you head back there- this won't be the same for the entire role-play however but still useful in the time it is.
So yeah I'm happy with that; don't worry about green blossoms though, the Legion commonly used it and hands it out frequently to its followers.

In terms of items and equipment, I'll be doing collabs with people throughout the role play, as well as my co-gm- it's during these intervals that items will be acquired via drops and loot.
Also, people will get new stuff available after every mission back at the keep.
These will free and distributed equally amongst the team.
