Angelia sits on the roof, silently watching the blinking lights of Velorio down below. Her fingers reach for her communications unit and she types in a number that she had noted down a piece of scrap paper.
"Hello, this is Angelia Coreman, Could you pass on a message to Vanessa please? Tell her that I would like to meet up at her tomorrow morning, 8am sharp at my house, I need to talk to her about the Parliament's plan on taking care of the rebels and need to meet her as soon as possible. Thank you." Angelia turns the device off and reaches over the edge of the roof, letting it drop to the ground below. She was scared that anyone could've heard her conversation with Samuel and she had to take extra precautions. When she saw the shattered pieces of black shiny plastic and the wires strewn across the concrete ground she sighed and resumed her usual spot, spreading her cloak down below her as a blanket and laying down to look at the stars. She manages to droop off into a nap not soon after, the wind stirring her blonde hair.

Samuel looked down at Angelia. "I didn't come here to nap. Get up." His face was covered by the mask, and the cloak revealed little about him. "It's Samuel, if you didn't guess." He looked at the city. "One day, this place will be peaceful again." His voice resumed its brooding quality. "But until then, blood will have to be shed. Now, I would like to ask you something. Tell me about you. Your home life, your secrets. I'll do the same."

Angelia sighs. All the fight left in her was gone now. "Sit." She patted at the space next to her on the blanket and sat up, hugging herself. "I'm the Chancellor's daughter of course I have pressure, Sam. I've been living by myself for such a long time, going by my own rules, caring for myself..." She stops then. "Promise you won't hate me for whatever I say okay?" She holds out a pinky. "Pinky promises are key." She says, the sides of her lips twitching into a smile despite the circumstances.

Samuel raised his eyebrow, but did the pinky promise anyways. He then sat down. "I have no right to judge, for what I have to do every time I encounter a Rebel. This is a war, so no one can judge, I guess." He looked at her. "Continue your dramatic monologue, please." He jested, smiling. "After all, you probably need to say it to someone. After all, you've been practicing for years, haven't you?" Despite his jokes, he was deeply interested in what she had to say. He needed someone to talk to as well.

"Samuel, just. Please don't kill me. I just..." She broke off and looked away for a moment before she regained herself. "I sometimes feel like I want what the rebels want. I mean my dad's the chancellor and I will do anything to keep his position and my place in Velorio secure but sometimes...I feel it is important for the people as well to decide what they want to do and all that. Please don't kill me Samuel, you asked for the truth and here it is." Angelia turns her back on him. This guy, who she trusted probably hated her now. She broke whatever bond she had with him. She was such an idiot.

Samuel looked into the sky thoughtfully, taking off his mask. He eventually looked down at Angelia, and nodded. "I understand. We all have our dirty secrets. Besides, it's not earth-shattering. And it would be unsensible, childish, and tactically wrong to kill you. Plus...I don't want to." He said it, and it came off his shoulders. "Sometimes I dress up like this and release the Rebel kids from prison. It's bad, since they'll become soldiers, but it's inhumane." He looked down at his mask, then back up. "Now we both have some secrets out."

Suddenly Angelia launched herself at Samuel in a tight hug. Tears were streaming down her face.
"I'm sorry...It's just-"She could feel the warmth radiating off of him and hugged him tighter, it was so long since she's ever been hugged and this felt, dare she say it: normal.

Samuel looked down in surprise. "No, it's fine." He didn't say anything else, for he feared of making her go away. He thought for a moment, then hugged her back. "Alright, my mother's going to get worried soon. I gotta go." He didn't want to say it, but it was true. "Meet me inside at noon tomorrow, alright?" Without waiting for a response, he started jumping in between the roofs again.

When Samuel went away Angelia wiped the rest of the tears off with her the fabric of the cloak, fastened it around herself and headed home.

She entered her room, closing the door softly and changing into something more suited to sleeping before crawling into her bed and drifting off. She could still feel Samuel's arms around her and that was enough.

As the young aristocrats went on their mini date, Vanessa was enjoying a warm bath back in her home. She was lying in the bath tub half asleep, listening to some relaxing music on her gramophone as she was jolted by a loud ring coming from outside - it was her communication unit. "Damn it, who could it be at this time of night?", she said to herself as she quickly threw on her robe and went out to answer the call. "Hello? - Alright, tell her I'll be there. Thanks." Angelia wanting a meeting to talk about the Parliament's plan? It was strange for her to call the meeting as the Chancellor usually handles these kind of business but Vanessa complied nonetheless, perhaps he wanted to pass down his knowledge to her, who knows. Vanessa then went back into the bathroom to drain the water and headed to bed, it was gonna be yet another early and long day for her tomorrow.

Samuel woke up bleary-eyed, but excited. He ate a breakfast of ham and an apple, and pulled on his coat. It was only 9:00, judging by the clock on the wall. He waved to his servants, and pulled on his coat. He wore a casual outfit, since it was his day off. After all, he had that right every week. He usually checked on the Parliament inventors and helped out, but today he planned to go shop at the Centre until Angelia came. He called a carriage, and finished what was left of his apple while he waited. As soon as the carriage stopped, Samuel strode out the door, and walked inside. He went to the Clothing shop first, purchasing a new hat and trenchcoat. These were a matching pair, black and comfortable, yet durable at the same time. Well, not the hat, but that was understandable. He then stopped at the Weapons shop to purchase more flintlock ammo. After that, he purchased a new book. When he was done, it was around 11:00, so he purchased a small snack at the cluster of food stalls. He sat at a table and ate, waiting for the time to go by. Angelia would be coming soon, but the entrance was right next to the food section.

The next morning was business as usual for Vanessa, except for the added activity of waking up early to clean and shine her armor. Last night's mission left her armor stained with blood and dirt, not to mention scratched by the scythe. Plus she would be entering the Chancellor's home, best to look as presentable as possible. Once she was done, she put on her armor and headed to the barracks for a quick run before hopping on a carriage to the meeting with Angelia.

Vanessa arrived at Angelia's house soon after, though house would be a severe understatement. It was one of the grandest and oldest mansions in Velorio, one would be humbled to even lay eyes on it. Vanessa had been here before a few times, but every time was as intimidating as before. She approached the front gate and rang the communication unit, "Captain Schulz reporting, here for the meeting with Miss Angelia."

Juno woke up from to the ache in her back, considering the inns mattress weren't as comfy than what she can actually afford. The journey back to Valerio was more tolerable as it was an adventure to her, homme is were she is most comfy. I should go buy new things for the home before I finally return. The centre from what she remembered was not too far from her house. Juno had many things shipped from her travels already, but her attire from the foreign seemed to be more behind compared to Valerio. She packed her stuff and made a move on.

The lady would buy multiple of dresses and jewelry, having what she would not wear sent to her home. People would spare a wide eye when she had paid for the amount as her appearance was a bit crude. Changing from what was dirtied and torn up, she switched to a more elegant yet light clothing and a clean red cloak. Satisfied with how she looked, Juno looked around to see what had changed.

Angelia descended the grand staircase, dressed in a navy pleated skirt and white blouse. She sees Vanessa and gives a wave. She slips out of the gate and pulls Vanessa into a more secluded place in the street.
"I was wondering if you had any plans to take down the larger leaders of the rebels. I have a few names and would more than love it if you could take them down. Angelia slips out a piece of paper, riddled with codes and passed it to Vanessa. She would be able to crack it. "Get rid of these people and then we can aim for the weaker spots of the rebels. Do not show this list to anyone, it is an individual mission with some help on my side. I will choose all your partners in this mission and tell you via the communications unit later today, at night. Good luck." And with that she waves again and heads off down the road to meet with Samuel @DriveEMOut

Garrett woke up to birds chirping, sunlight creeping through the windows, and the sound of kids playing outside.

He hated it.

The birds were too loud, the sun was too bright and the kids were mocking him. Maybe it was just his old age catching up to him, but he really hated waking up in the morning. Nonetheless, he got up, threw on his clothing and coat (double-checking that his blade and pistol were there), and walked into the kitchen. Garrett then tore off a piece of stale bread from the loaf, cut a piece of cheese off a wedge and ate his measly breakfast, downing it with a bit of wine that he sto- er, borrowed.

He then remembered: there was a mission today. Thankfully, he had woken up rather early, but still, he needed to get there, and fast. Gobbling down the last of his breakfast and drinking the rest of his wine, which dripped down the corners of Garrett's mouth and onto his shirt in his haste, Garrett broke into a sprint to make it to the headquarters (assuming the rebels have a headquarters. If not, disregard this).

Several hours later...

Well. That was bad.

The rebels had lost. And hard. They lost quite a few people due to the mistakes of one rebel, who was leading them. Garrett was holed up with them, wherever they were. Most were wounded, including the young girl he sat next to. She looked to be around her mid teens, far too young to be on a battlefield. For a moment Garrett thought about Winston, but quickly snapped out of it. "That could've gone better," Garrett said to the girl, his voice snarky and measured.

Étoiles had been researching books and scrolls about water magic, seeing as one of the soldiers of the Parliament had learned fire spells; she had to show them who was boss, after all. That's all Ettie had been doing, besides talking to friends and rebels as she studied. She hadn't gotten far in her course, and was trying to learn as much as she could. Until an unknown man started talking to her.

She was going to ignore him, until he made a comment about her damn failure. That's all she ever heard: "Wow, nice going, Étoiles." "You feeling good about what you did?" "Do you know how many soldiers died because of you?"

She slammed her book down on the table, sending an icy glare towards him. "Make one more comment about that fight," she whispered, her voice cold, "and I'll drown you." She opened the book back up with a bite of her lip. Of course she felt guilty about that fight, but would they have done any better without a captain? She was freaking tortured, and no one cared that she bit her lip through the pain and didn't say a word?

She made a small noise similar to a snort at the thought. Of course they didn't care; they didn't know.

"Your darkness beckons."

Garron sneered at the downed rebel soldier, before crumpling the man's rib cage with a powerful stomp of his heel and then kneeling briefly to drive his knife into his throat, killing him almost instantly. He took a moment to clean the blade of his knife on the grass and sheathed it, and then stood to observe the ongoing skirmish within the clearing on the edge of the forest. It was a planned ambush on the rebels camp; a small one but rewarding nonetheless as the camp contained crates full of steel weapons and various useful implements. A supply run, perhaps. This was one of Garron's first skirmishes where he was in charge of a battalion of his own, along with one of the first counterattacks launched against the rebels, and it ignited a sort of thrill within him that few other activities could match; going on the offence for a change.

As he walked up towards the main tent in the centre of the camp, pointing to the side and commanding a small platoon of his soldiers to take the nearby tied up rebel soldiers hostage and lead them back to the barracks, he sheathed his massive hand-and-a-half blade and ducked to enter the tent. There was business to settle and he knew the leader of this expedition had information he wanted; he had also caused Garron more grief than he was comfortable with during their little skirmish. The leader of this small procession of rebels sat there, alone, in a tattered leather outfit and a fur cloak around his shoulders, seemingly defeated. Garron approached, and his hand shot out to grab the man by the throat and lift him out of the seat with little effort. "Tell me where I can find the Node of Yaqaris." He growled. The man remained silent, much to Garron's annoyance. "I don't have time for this." To which Garron drove his knife into the man's gut, and twisted it. "Where can I find it?" He repeated as the man gasped. Garron twisted again. "Where!?" He repeated angrily. Viscous blood dribbled from the man's open mouth.

"The Oxonian plains across the mountain range. There is *cough* a map in this sack." The man wheezed. Garron let go of his throat with a snort and he sunk back into the seat, coughing up blood with a hand over his gut wound, applying pressure. Garron grabbed the sack and turned to leave, pausing for a moment at the tent's exit. "Next time we cross paths, Magnus, I will not be so merciful." He left, leaving the man there gasping for breath and tending his wound. Garron knew that the man would survive without complications if he got aid quick enough. He called off the attack on the encampment, ordered his soldiers to scrounge up any remaining valuables, scour the immediate area for any survivors, and otherwise round up the captured soldiers from the expedition and start to head back to the barracks with him leading the way.

Garrett, not knowing the girl had been the one who botched the mission, raises his hands defensively. "Relax, I was just saying; I don't even know who it was... Man, you must be a bloodthirsty little bastard, aren'tcha? Goin' off on a man like that for talking to you." He says, laughing a bit.

"Speaking of, I'm probably just pissing you off more. But hey, at least you haven't tried to drown me yet, amirite?" Garrett knew he was pushing his luck by talking to the girl like this, but he didn't give a damn. It amused him.

Étoiles listened to his words as she stared at her book. True, he was pissing her off. Greatly pissing her off. Okay, she was really done with this damn idiot. But she remained calm and looked back at him. "Well, in case you didn't know, I was the one who screwed up the mission. And let me just tell you I didn't get away unscathed."

Placing the book on the table in front of her, she showed him her left arm. She pulled up the sleeve of the cotton shirt to reveal a small arm, covered from the palm to her shoulder in white bandages. She bit her lip at the memory. "A damn Pyromancer got my arm, along with a bullet or two and a sharp sword." She faintly patted her stomach and gestured to her foot. "Shot twice in one foot and kicked."

She winced at the pain she could still feel from that battle. "That's kind of why I've put down the scythe and picked up the books," she explained quietly, pulling the sleeve back over her arm. "You know, besides my scythe also being taken away."

Angelia walks to the city center and enters. She spots Samuel sitting alone near the food area and strides over to him, a smile forming on her face and a blush on her cheeks.
"Hi" she greets shyly and slides into the seat next to him.
