Kino listened quite closely to Jhino, looking into his words for any sign or message that may be important to the exercise that Jhino was about to set in place, but the reality of the situation seemed simple: Jhino was going to test him in combat. Kino also knew of this specific training ground. Number Seventeen. There was nothing truly special about it in terms of equipment, but it was a historical site that many called the Birthplace of the Conqueror. Some twenty years ago, this was the place that Sai ripped out the heart of his lover and took over what would only ever be known as his regime. This was place was the final stand of the Hon. In this place, genjutsu masters and psychic mediums alike could swore by the intensity of this area, and few ever visited it due to that. Most of these training ground were left unattended to, meaning it was one of the few places in all of Konoha left scarred from its previous battles. Dummies that still had kunai of all sorts protruding, the ground was disturbed almost everywhere and the tree line was devastated - all things that senju caretakers would have repaired at the end of any day for any other training ground. But not this place. No one cared for the Birthplace of a Conqueror.

As Jhino inched forward, Kino took no time in summoning his bow. He jumped back, then unleashed a flurry of three arrow shots aimed directly at Jhino. Unlike kunai, senbon or shuriken, these arrows were shot at blinding speeds that were nearly impossible to track with the untrained and even shinobi eye. They were a blur to shuriken thrown by a weapon-nin. After even seeing speed of one arrow, it would be easy to take note that benefits of a bow were its speed when compared to other ninja tools. In the same motion jumping backward, Kino dropped two smokescreens from his hand after releasing his arrows and created two shadow clones within the smoke. All of these actions taking place mere moments after Jhino tried to walk closer to him, like an indomitable wall.

Kino and his clone darted off in opposite, but parallel directions. Running on either side and trying to regain vision through the smokescreen, Kino wanted to get an advantage in terms of placement on Jhino. After that, it would all depend on who Jhino went after: his clone or him. If it was his clone, Kino intended on forsaking his bow and turning to hand-to-hand while firing arrowshots at the two, knowing his clone would absorb chakra and return it to him when dispelled. If it was Kino himself, Kino intended on using the same tactic he did there with arrows, smokes screens and clones, hoping that Jhino would pick the clone this time and would swarm him with the other. Kino could create up to four shadow clones, so statistically he had an 80% chance total that Jhino would be swarmed by clones that would all absorb bits of his chakra, giving Kino a net gain of chakra instead of consuming it for the shadow clone jutsu, all the while attempting to riddle Jhino with arrows.

Kirugetsu waited patiently for his students to arrive at the field. The morning was cool, calm, and sunny... perfect weather, really. Birds chirped, bugs were buzzing around, frogs were hopping... on his foot. A sickening squeal erupted from the frog as it was impaled and killed by a kunai. "Eh. Good snack, I guess. Didn't have much breakfast anyways." and so he dug into the squishy little creature, a smile on his face. But his snack-time would be interrupted by the arrival of his two remaining students. Kirugetsu tossed the remaining portion of the frog to the side as the kids approached, not wanting to gross them out. Shisen was the first to step up to the plate.

The girl gave Kirugetsu something unexpected... a new scabbard for his favored blade. An interesting thing, this sudden gifting. "While I appreciate this gift, I have to ask what it's for. Are you trying to br..." his question was interrupted by the Hyuga boy, Maruki. He was being overly respectful, as he seemed to do often. One question warranted an answer, though. "Kirin has been recalled from our squad. Likely on family affairs. She will not be joining us today." ... and then the boy offered a gift as well. A scroll of some kind, in fact. Kirugetsu's expression made clear his feelings of exasperation.

"So let me get this straight. You both go home after getting a good meal and a fight... each failing one of the two tests I gave you... and magically come here today with things I want? I know bribery when I see it." He thought for a moment on what to do next, and just as one of the kids went to speak... he would shout: "CAN IT, GENIN!" ... not the most polite, but Kirugetsu wasn't exactly a conventional teacher. Regaining his composure, he would speak again. "In light of this blatant violation of procedure and ettiquette, I am forced to fail the both of you on the final test. As such, you fail my tests as a whole." He gave that a bit of time to sink in, watching the student's reactions. Before either of them lost their cool, he would stop them by raising a hand.

"However. We're rebuilding things here and we're in need of capable shinobi. So I offer you both a way out of being sent back to the Academy." The Hozuki smiled, exposing his shark-like teeth. "You can both fight each other. Right here and now. Winner stays, loser goes. Having fought you both, I'd say it's a fairly even match. So who's ready?" He knew they both wanted to prove themselves. He knew that Shisen, despite her shyness and anti-social tendencies, would not have come this far without something to prove. Similarly, Maruki was of the proud Hyuga, and wouldn't abide by failure. The plan was perfect, really. He could watch the kids, evaluate them more fully, and get a grasp on where they needed to improve. Question was... would they accept his proposal? Or would they accept failure?

As Kirugetsu yelled at his genin, his voice was muted. His lecture was left completely unheard by everyone aside from himself, and of course the culprit of his inaudibility. "Aaah, mister Hozuki, just the man I'm looking for, mon ami," was heard from behind Kirugetsu, almost immediately answering the question as to who muted the Jounin. It was Hayato, a man that irked Kirugetsu every other time they had interacted, and took great pleasure in it. A sly grin sat on his face as he continued to talk, not like anyone else could, "It seems the Hokage t'inks we ought'a be in te same division, Kiru. Goro went AWOL, t'ought I was gonna get tah kill'm. Turns out, I just gotta babysit. Hosuka t'ought it'd be best if you broke the news to his genin and introduced me. Said somethin' 'bout you bein' a hero to dese kids. But..."

Always. Always a but with Hayato. He couldn't ever just do something, there had to be a catch or some unneeded addition that almost ended everything. Most shinobi would swear Hayato had a deathwish, if they weren't fawning over him. This time, Hayato and his but was in regards to Kirigetsu and his plan. Even if the genin didn't hear it, Hayato did. He wanted the two to fight, but what's the fun in sparring if you don't see someone first? Hayato always saw Kirigetsu as a little dull, somewhat cynical and if anything far too serious. Hayato was far from anything like that, even if it was only his opinion.

"...what you say ta you an' me givin' these kids a show, Kiru? Makin' dem fight is no fun if they don't know what the big kids can do, eh? Or, mon ami, is the master a' acid and his letter opener not up for some fun, huh?" Hayato finally asked. Hayato was always looking for a fight, and Kirugetsu was a perfect challenge. A good bit of a sport, at least in the eyes of the Allure. Hayato didn't put much thought into disrupting Kirugetsu and his lessons, nor would he ever; he was well aware that alone might be enough to make Kiru swing his sword at him, and if it was, then that was just that much less work needed to convince Kirugetsu to have a little fun.

"If you invoke the name of a Warbringer, few should challenge you should you attempt to enter the Institute of War, Kami-sensei - even that of a Warbringer as lowly as myself." Shira noted in response to Kami asking whether or not she could read the Hataga's sacred manuscripts. It was a fairly reasonable request, given that Kami was one who pursued knowledge, and far be it from Shira to actively deny someone in authority what they wanted. What exactly Kami could learn was the subject of great mystery - plenty could be acquired in Toshoukan's writings, but the knowledge was not always straightforward, much like the nature of war upon which it was based. There were cryptic passages and texts, pieces of information that seemed out of place, and even ciphers and carefully folded pages to keep information from prying eyes that were not worthy of the original Warbringers' knowledge. The various arts of war were constant, unlike so much of humanity's achievements, and though the level of warfare had changed since the dawn of the clan, the tactics that worked had not: they simply required different applications now. Kami seemed intelligent enough, but whether or not she would be perceptive enough to crack the codes employed by the Warbringers of old was another matter entirely.

"I know the locations of the major organs, though I know little of their functions outside of the very basics. I know the skeleton well enough to name major bones, but my knowledge is less academic and more practical, Kami-sensei." Shira answered, not attempting to hide the fact that her knowledge with regards to the academics of anatomy were not on par with those of her sensei - even if they had been, she would have downplayed her knowledge out of respect. Such was the way of one who served. Over the course of the conversation's many back and forths, Shira had noticed another, younger girl enter the shop with an air of purpose that seemed to be somehow beyond the simple purchasing of chestnut-related products - there was no basis for the assumption, but Shira simply had a feeling in the pit of her stomach that told her that such was the case. Until she spoke out there was little else to do but wait to see if Shira was right.

"Discipline is the primary attribute of the Hataga, Kami-sensei, especially so of those with a long lineage like mine. If you give the command, I will obey. I am yours from now until such a time where you are no longer my Sensei." Shira started, and looked as if she was going to say more, before Namine launched herself at Kami's feet in a fashion that was similar (at least in spirit) to her own entrance - both had prostrated themselves before Kami, albeit in different fashions, but it was likely not coincidence that Kami had gotten two obedient students who were eager to learn - perhaps it was a test for Shira and Namine, to see if they could broaden their horizons, or perhaps a test for Kami to see how she would deal with students. Perhaps both.

"Pleased to meet you, Namine-san! I am Warbringer Shira of the Hataga clan, and it is my honour to be your partner under Kami-sensei's tutelage!" Shira would speak after Kami replied to Namine's introduction - it was not her place to speak first.

And then, just as suddenly as it began, it was over. Clearly frustrated, Kirugetsu simply repeated what he had said when Hayato so rudely interrupted. "In light of this blatant violation of procedure and etiquette, I am forced to fail the both of you on the final test. As such, you fail my tests as a whole." He gave that a bit of time to sink in, watching the student's reactions. Before either of them lost their cool, he would stop them by raising a hand.

Kami flinched as some shrill bell rung in her ear. She followed the sound but whatever it had been seemed to have vanished. Kami was pretty sure she had heard something along the lines of sensei, but the words could have easily been anything. As Namine immersed herself back into the crowd, Kami returned her attention to Shira. They had been talking about... Kami shuffled from foot-to-foot to remind herself exactly where they had been on this conversation. "The human body..." She mumbled to herself. The human body, which if Shira studied thoroughly could definitely help Shira with her swordsmanship or, to be exact, her aim. Although Kami was sure Shira at least had a general idea of where everything was, Kami felt a more detailed view could easily allow Shira to have more control over her sword. Besides... it'd be pretty awesome if Kami could eventually convince Shira to try it out at the hospital. It wasn't really for Shira's training but because Kami was curious about what would happen.

A practical use. That was definitely useful, but not as useful as knowing the exact workings of each. "I want to teach you more detail than that. I think, that if you're interested, I could help you learn more about the human body. You don't need to be a medical ninja to find this useful." Kami paused, looking up at Shira as she tried to determine if the young woman appeared interested or not. This was serious. Kami would love to debate forever with everyone about everything, but Shira's training is something she was going to take seriously. "I could see you using this information to help with your aim. If you know more about the inner workings of the body, you can know beforehand just how much damage and to what each swing would do. That is if you're interested. It takes awhile to learn this all." And it wasn't something someone could learn one time and remember for life. Anatomy was something someone had to constantly study or a tiny detail could easily be forgotten.

Then, just as Kami was about to listen to Shira's answer, a blur of color rushed towards them. Kami wasn't startled or in the least bit worry. Crime doesn't happen in a candy shop. Even the mere idea of that is ridiculous. What kind of villain would want to risk destroying such deliciousness? Stealing candy from a baby was one thing but destroying a candy store was a whole different ball park. For this reason alone was the only reason Namine didn't get kicked in the face. "Oh yeah," Kami said in afterthought. "There was another one." She looked up at Shira, before pointing down at Namine. "You have a teammate. I forgot." She shrugged. This was Kami's first time teaching and, well, forgetting people and making mistakes probably came with the territory. Now as long as she didn't leave them in a freezer or something, she'd be golden.

Slowly, a smirk started to spread over Kami's face. Here, at her feet, was the cute little genin she had order. Namine might as well have been gift wrapped for all Kami cared. She was shiny cute genin; a trinket of the new generation. Something for Kami to mold and, most importantly, get free stuff with. "See?" Kami called over her shoulder to the candy shop owner. She gave her bag of roasted chestnuts a shake. "I do need these for important training the new generation stuff." This was going to be awesome. A young woman with a massive sword and a cute genin trying to learn medical ninjustu. This would definitely work in Kami's favor.

Kirugetsu watched the two kids tangle and duke it out. They were spirited, that was for sure. Hell, it seemed like they might have even been trying to kill one another. Granted, this display of fervor was after a huge show of hesitation on the part of Maruki Hyuga. However, they did as they were told, fought hard, and even showed they could think on the fly... to some extent. By the time the fight was over, the Inuzuka girl lay passed out with her ever-present mongrel hovering over her, and the Hyuga boy followed suit shortly after. "Man... I have my work cut out for me on this one. Why can't I go back to my gifted team from Ame? Shit. Whatever... past is past. Now to get these two up." The Hozuki then reached to his side and unclipped a medium-sized water bottle from his hip.

Unscrewing to lid/straw, Kirugetsu then used a tiny amount of chakra to activate the water seal inside the bottle. With his drink container now filled to the brim, he waltzed over to Maruki. "Wake up, you little inbred bastard." The entire contents of the bottle were then hurled into the boy's face, going up his nose, in his hair, and maybe even a bit in his ears. Not waiting for the Hyuga kid to get to his feet, Kirugetsu re-charged the seal and refilled the bottle on his way over to Shisen. With his free hand, he drew his sword... an unspoken warning to the dog that if it attacked, so would he. "Rise and shine and lollipops and all that garbage." ... again, the bottle's contents were splashed onto the face of an unconscious Genin. Knowing the effects of the Hyuga's Gentle Fist, the girl would be in a fair amount of pain upon waking, as nearly three dozen of her chakra points were temporarily blocked.

"Well... that wasn't bad. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. You both fought hard, used your abilities well enough, and even tried to adapt to injuries as you took them." said Kirugetsu as he paced back and forth in thought. "I guess you pass. I'd hate to send you back to the academy anyways. So how about we go get these injuries tended to. Then I'll get us lunch again, to celebrate. Sound good?" Sure, he might have been callous or vulgar or even a bit aggravating... but Kirugetsu really was a good all-around guy. He just had odd ways of showing it. ... and with all said and done, he began walking away from the field and toward the nearest medical station, motioning for the pair to follow.

Division B - Kyo

The woman was short, but she was one that stood out marvelously.
She had red hair that was tied loosely up and held by a pair of sharp needles and the remaining hair fell down just below her shoulders. She had a lot of that bright red hair tied upwards and, when it was freed from those twin hair needles, it fell just below her waists. She had deep earth brown eyes and a pair of brown beauty marks under her right eye, one directly under the other. She wore typical ninja clothing aside the flack jacket, which was missing. At her top she wore a long sleeve black shirt that had the symbol of the Uzumaki clan spiraling at her back.

This woman pulled Kyo from his current designation under special circumstances that she hadn't completely revealed yet. What? Who? Where? She wasn't divulging any details and, instead, was simply asking Kyo general questions. She asked him how his day was, how he thought about being a ninja, his family life, what sort of training he did in the academy, where he liked to eat and what he did in his down time...Things like that. She kept the conversation casual and she kept it consistent matching Kyo's answers with longer, more detailed responses to the same question from her own life. She was friendly and kind. Her words were always curved with her melodic tone of voice that was rosy and soft, almost as if she were telling a delicate story to an innocent child. She didn't say anything condescending or patronizing to Kyo, however her tone was unmistakably warm and motherly.

She as leading Kyo to the outskirts of town. She took him from the training field, through the town, out the front gates, and then out into a small clearing where a small river ran through. There was a glowing metal pole in the center of the area. There was a warmth exuding from it. Whatever it was it wasn't a normal object. Anyone with delicate chakra sensory abilities would be able to tell that it was full of chakra. As a Yoru, Kyo may be able to see tell-tale signs that it wasn't just an ordinary pole. It was a similarly specialized metal as the ones that his kin created. It was a chakra sensitive metal pole and looked like it had certain inscriptions that ran up and down the pole.

Upon closer inspection, Kyo would be able to see that it had small, intricately designed runes inscribed up and down the weapon and it was polished. If Yoru were really talented with his weapons crafting he'd also be able to see that it was layered. By examining the runes he'd be able to see that there was a metal alloy on top of another alloy, thus making it a weapon that was smithed with some skill and with more expensive materials than what it appeared as. It was more than just some simple pole.

Of course, the woman would stop Kyo from getting too close.
The last person that did get too close was still unconscious, after all.

"That's it," She'd say, motioning her hand towards the random metal pole in the middle of the area. "I will explain exactly what is going on, but I want to get your full permission before hand. You are just a Genin, a little kid, so I don't want you getting in over your head. You were pulled from the team assignments for this specific mission because, unfortunately, there are only about 12 people that could do this and you are one of the only two that can be reached right now. This mission is S-Class. You could die. Are you still willing to take it on, knowing that you could possibly die doing so?" She asked, watching Kyo with her large brown eyes. Likely, for a Genin fresh out of the academy, this was a pretty big deal.

Division B - Myth

He had electric yellow eyes, short navy blue hair, and was fairly tall. In fact, he was at least 6 feet tall and towered over the small, white haired Genin. This ninja wore typical ninja gear but had his right arm sleeveless and wrapped in white bandages up to his right shoulder and had black cloth over that and black chains binding the black cloth over that. It looked as if he were keeping something locked up tight or something around that arm of his.

Right in the middle of Myth's introduction with his team the man picked the little boy up, snatching him from the back of his shirt, and lifted him off the ground as he walked back into the village. Ordinarily, a ninja as sly and reclusive as Myth may have been keen enough to catch someone sneaking up on him, but not this ninja. This ninja was quieter than dust in the air. He held no presence and, even as he was holding Myth, seemed as if he really wasn't there at all. It almost seemed, strangely, as if Myth were to reach out he would have his hand phase completely through the non-existent man...As if he were some ghost or phantom.

This ninja's name was Yureki Shimazu and he was an elite. He was formally a part of the resistance and mostly served as an Academy teacher at this point of his life. He'd be well known by any of the recent graduates as one of the instructors in the history and geography classes. He was a little awkward at times, often stuttering and stumbling over his words, but he was tall and that wrapped arm of his typically kept students from ever saying or doing anything disrespectful in his class. Despite being awkward and slightly nerdy, he is rumored to be a fairly gifted ninja and the reason he chose to be an academy instructor was due to regret from the shear number of men and woman he killed.

This man would take Myth, being sure to keep him far away from the ground and keeping himself out of reach, to a shop. The boy would be taken just outside of a shop where he'd finally be plopped on the ground. The shop was way on the outskirts of the town, far from the main market district. From the look of the shop it was closed for a few years and on top of being boarded up it was littered with dust, dirt and some tagging.

"We have a mission for you, a simple one." It would be the first thing Yureki would have said this entire time. "Can you get inside there?" He'd ask, looking down at Myth. He'd wait a moment, allowing Myth a yes or no, before he decided to demonstrate why it was necessary. Yureki would kick a loose pebble towards the shop. The pebble would be bounced off with enough speed that it crashed into a cement wall a few yards away. It was fired with enough force that it dug clean into the hard cement. Likely, Myth would clearly be able to see that there was a barrier placed around the building. It originated from the inside, but there wasn't any sign that the barrier was active. It was quiet. It was a very complicated barrier technique. Despite being maintained via chakra, even the most adept chakra sensor wouldn't sense this barrier.

"F-From what we got from Kishira-san, t-this kekkai will only let s-specific individual through. She named your and your sister, s-sp-specifically," He'd state, looking at Myth a moment before returning his attention to the Kekkai. Whomever Kishira was, which was a name that Myth would no be familiar with, she managed to figure out that this barrier was somehow tied to Myth and Myth's sister? How she knew that, why that mattered and what that had to do with Myth now was up in the air. It was because she deduced that Myth was here right now. He was someone that could uncover this growing mystery surrounding the boy by name.

Typically, Myth's techniques were very specific. However, if Myth tried using his instantaneous movement techniques, he'd find that he could sense the chakra inside the building. There was almost a harmonizing connection with Myth and the building...Almost like a warmth. It would feel almost...Simple to use his Safe Place technique inside there...In fact, if Myth tried to gather chakra to attempt the technique or something similar, he'd feel that he'd be almost comfortable performing the technique inside that building...Despite that he most certainly never went inside it and would have never placed any sort of seal or anchor inside that building. Yet...He could? With a bit of chakra control and concentration...Myth would be able to use his Safe Place to teleport directly inside there.

However...What would that mean for him? What was inside this building that had a powerful barrier around it? What if, perchance, the one who created the barrier was inside waiting for him? What if it was a trap? He was fortunate that he had someone as capable as Yureki there, despite knowing nothing about the Sensei's technique or capability, but Kishira had already thought that far. Though, naturally, Myth wouldn't know that. Myth wouldn't know a lot about the current situation he'd been dragged into. The boy was probably fairly confused. He was dragged all the way out here on a day that he was supposed to be on his way towards becoming a full on ninja with a team and a teacher. Most likely, this was a big deal and he was a central piece in it all.

Shiō

"It is also pretty disrespectful to make such commentary to your superior," Shiō responded coolly, "I could very well have accepted to the gift then created more potential turmoil when it was never seen again. Just because a gift is not accepted, does also not mean that the gesture was not appreciated. And as for the hawk, yes, if you want to kill it you very well could, but I would advise against it unless you aren't terribly attached to the appendages on your body."

Shiō was unsure of what her charge's issue was - he had no social aptitude. This would limit, potentially, the types of missions they could go on. Diplomatic missions would likely be out of the question with Taiho's social skills. Shiō feared that should they take such a mission that he would end up offending some dignitary and create a rift in a time that needed unity. Even though the times were as they were, there were still some that lived by the old ways before the war.

"Let us get a few things straight though before we proceed," Shiō added, "My highest priority is to keep you alive. After that it is to try to impart some kind of knowledge onto you. Please take note of the order and ensure that you aren't making either of my jobs more difficult."

Shiō's very narrow skillset made her an incredibly awkward candidate for teaching. She knew the principles of a number of arts, and could likely correct him on them, but creating regiments for training for these arts wasn't something she was especially comfortable with. This meant, as much as Taiho may not like it, he'd be getting a modified form of a medical shinobi's training. Given the size of their squad, Shiō felt that it was the best course of action. It would be of the utmost importance that both Taiho and herself avoided injury as much as possible. If either were to be taken out, it would be even more dangerous than it was for the larger squads. Plus, it would prevent Shiō from addressing medical problems on any of the other squads she may be supporting if she was busy attending to herself or Taiho. She needed to train at least one of the genin to avoid hits reliably.

"For now, we will get you started on my dummy behind my clinic," Shiō added, gesturing for him to follow her.

Myth was awkwardly left with his new teammates, both of which he was probably inferior to. Myth sighed at himself. He still didn't know how he ended up here in Division A, or who most of these people were. As he was about to speak to his team, a small squeak of a greeting, he was grabbed from behind and quickly dragged out of the training grounds. Myth drew in a huge, panicked breath, his arms flailing to find his mouth, which they eventually did. Just as Myth was about to use his Safe Place jutsu, he stopped himself. This ninja who grabbed him could have killed him- or at the very least hurt him- by now if said ninja really wanted to. He turned his head to get a look at who had picked him up by the collar of his shirt.

The man was a ninja, that much was obvious. The man was tall, and had short navy-blue hair. Myth thought that he had looked familiar... Perhaps a teacher at the academy? Yes, Myth knew him! Yureki Shimazu. He was a history and geography teacher. And his arm... It was wrapped in chains, with black cloth underneath those chains. What could he be hiding underneath such strong bindings? Aside from looks, Yureki had a ghostly vibe coming off of him, as if he didn't exist. Something suddenly hit Myth: He hadn't sensed this intruders presence. Even now that Myth knew that the man was there, it was difficult to sense his chakra. Myth was half tempted to touch the man to see if he was really there.

Yureki set Myth down in front of a building after carrying him a fair distance. The building, a shop to be exact, was no longer in business. It was heavily boarded up, and there was graffiti all over the building. Such a pitiful sight made Myth frown. This poor shop. Yureki started speaking, and Myth listened. "I have a mission for you," he said, "a simple one. Can you get inside there?" Myth mentally smirked. This was one of the rare occurrences that Yureki formed a sentence without fumbling over words. "I'm sure I can," was Myth's response.

Yureki kicked a rock at the building. The rock hit the building, then bounced off of the wall at a high speed. The rock lodged itself in a concrete wall behind him. The building had a barrier around it, that much was obvious. It was generated from chakra, but for the second time today, Myth couldn't sense the barrier. He strained and strained, but still, nothing. It threw Myth off. Yureki started speaking again, this time stuttering more. "F-From what we got from Kishira-san, t-this kekkai will only let s-specific individual through. She named you and your sister, s-sp-specifically," Yureki instructed. Wait, his sister? Myth hadn't heard about her in years. It was rather refreshing to hear about her again. Even if she wasn't the best of sisters, she was still family. And Kishira-san... Who was this? This one he had never heard of before. And this barrier... Myth was able to pass through it a certain way? This day was getting weirder and weirder...

Alright, Myth thought, let's get this started. How could Myth get past this barrier? He decided to get a better look at the building, look at the whole thing. He took a step back and used his Body Flicker Technique to get a good ten paces away, the whole building coming in to view- wait wait wait! What was that?! Myth used his Body Flicker Technique a few more times, moving from left to right. There was a... warmth exuding from the building. The chakra! Myth could sense the barrier while using Body Flicker! But no, there was more to it than that. It felt like... His bed at home? That's what Myth could relate it to. A safe, alluring feeling... And he felt like his Safe Place technique would be the perfect way to get to whatever was inside of that building. But how could it be? He had never seen this building until now, and there was no way that he could have placed the seal necessary to perform the technique inside of the building. Yet, it still felt as if he could do it... And what of the barrier and its creator? Was he or she waiting inside for him? This could be an obvious trap. But Yureki was here, and he taught at the academy. There was no way he could have brought a former student in to a trap. Myth's head was swirling with all of the possible outcomes of what could happen if he used his Safe Place technique to pass the barrier, and what could happen if he didn't.

Myth ended up nodding. "Alright, here I go," he said aloud to himself. He used his Body Flicker technique to put himself a few steps away from the heavily boarded front door to the abandon shop. He placed his hands over his mouth and closed his eyes promptly. Usually, Myth would allow his chakra to carry him to his bed automatically, but this time he had to focus. Focus on the warmth of the building, let it pull him in and protect him from the outside world, until...

"Take me to my Safe Place..."

Myth disappeared, passing through the barrier and the building itself. He had passed the mission, it would seem. As soon as he felt his technique had been finished, he flew his eyes open in a panic, the anxiety from the possibility of a trap getting to him. However, sleep had already taken over. If anything happened to be in front of Myth, he would only catch a glimpse of it before collapsing on his back, knocked out from a lack of energy.

Division B - Myth

There would be a whirling sensation. Unlike the usual instantaneous movement technique that Myth was gifted with, there was a sensation of spiraling through some sort of narrow passage. Myth would feel as if the sensation lasted seconds, though it actually hit him instantly and vanished instantly. The teleportation was in a blink, however it would feel as if Myth had been tossed down some shaft and was spinning and spinning in in a constant, circular rotation. Even when he was inside, stationary, and the technique completed the boy would feel this alien vertigo upon the completion of the technique. He would feel the usual substantial amount of chakra lost as well from using the skillful technique. As sleep took the boy he'd hear voices.

There were various voices...
One of them, a female type, would sound fairly familiar.

Whenever Myth would regain consciousness...
The boy would realize that he'd be alone. He'd warped into a bedroom, by the look of things. The bedroom was barren, having been ransacked ages passed. There was a bedframe, however it was but a skeleton without the plushy mattress and the matching sheets. To the left of the bed there was a dresser and to the right there was a tall, standing wardrobe. Both were locked, but the lock could be broken off should one desire to investigate the contents. There were a pair of windows in the room that were both boarded up. To the opposite ends of the room there were doors, each in line with the other on the opposing wall, and both would be locked. Myth could try either door, the one to the far right of the room or the one to the far left. Breaking them open would not be impossible.

If Myth looked up he'd see an incredibly intricate runic tattoo on the ceiling. From the outermost markings it looked like a contract seal, the same that were usually related to summoning techniques, however it was so detailed and so elaborate that it wasn't something you'd find in any technique out of an academy book. No, it would be far older and far more complicated than that, but it would strangely seem familiar to Myth. Like something that looked like something familiar or something that'd remind the boy of something...? Most certainly, Myth had never seen such a mark before, but it would bring about that itch of knowledge. Myth would have the twinge at the back of his head or the tip of his tongue out of familiarity but, unfortunately, he'd be unable to explain or relate just where he saw such or what it reminded him of.

Even after having rested quite a while Myth would still feel dazed and a little dizzy. Aside from being a little dizzy, the next thing that would practically smack the boy in the face was this...Dust. The air tasted dusty and it would quickly run into his nose and poke at his eyes, slightly irritating them. It wasn't anything he couldn't adjust too, but it would be a pretty big inconvenience. It tasted like old wood, dirt and was slightly salty, actually. On top of being dusty it was also very arid in this building. There was absolutely zero humidity, thus making Myth have dry skin and feel as if each and every dirt particle were laying on him. There were especially a lot behind his collar. In fact, it felt as if something was stuffed behind his collar. There was a sort of lump in his shirt at his shoulders. The dryness in this building really allowed one to make out just how dirty and dusty it was, the wooden smell almost overpowering everything else.

Myth had plenty of options. Whatever he would decide to do was up to him. He could try teleporting out, using Safe Place again to go to his real bed, or try exploring or just outright waiting for someone to come in after. Whether he recalled the voices from before or not may help him in deciding just what he was going to try doing next. Likely, if there were others in here it would most certainly breed some sort of trouble for the Genin.

Taiho

Attached to the appendages on your body
The statement stood out the most as Shio first started talking. Taiho didn't pay too much mind to her defense about the gift. Her reasoning made sense, thus there wasn't anything more to say. However, the latter portion of what she said outright did cause Taiho to question. Did she state such because the bird was more powerful than it appeared or because she would interfere? Taiho didn't understand why. Clearly, if it were some sort of pet or beloved weapon she'd have just said so bluntly. Her roundabout vague statement made Taiho think back to the moment when he thought she'd murdered someone before coming here. Would she murder Taiho on a whim? Carelessly tearing off his arms and legs before strutting off to go do some menial taskwork? Again, Taiho found himself unable to relate to her personality type.

Taiho was snatched form his thoughts as Shio continued, bringing up what she'd have them do. His eyes looked her over a moment before they fell upon her avian friend for a few seconds before, yet again, they were returned to the senor Sensei.

As Shio was about to explain, Kyo was taken off by another instructor, thus removing himself from the squad.
That just left himself and Shio and, not really caring that Kyo was long gone, Taiho followed.

"You are still very rude," Taiho would, out of nowhere, bluntly state, "Trying to logically reason around being rude just means you are used to being rude to people. You can't logically try to explain something that needs..." Taiho started, looking a way a moment. The word escaped him. The boy clearly looked like he was searching for a word, which was just barely in his teenage vocabulary. It looked like, despite everything Shio had explained, he had an opinion that he felt should be stated. "Empathetic resonance?" He'd say, though it sounded like a question. Clearly, he was referring to Shio's down-to-the-point character. She was so logistical. As if everything she did had to be backed by some need or reason. Taiho gathered, from just watching her talk and listening to her words, that she was a highly serious person and honestly didn't care for the emotional needs of others. It was a terrible fault in a Sensei, though it was coincidentally a trait that resonated with Taiho's own lack of a personality. Speaking logically and without remorse was easy for the both of them, which would most assuredly make them contrast more than it would make them conjoin in terms of ideals.

"It doesn't really matter to me, as I didn't think his gift made sense either. But isn't it customary for you to at least pretend you would have liked it?" Despite the nature of the question and it's depth, there wasn't any real sound of interest in Taiho's words. It almost sounded, just by his tone, that he was just bringing this up to talk poorly of Shio rather than to offer any constructive criticism. It sounded as if Taiho were saying it as a jab, due to the lack of any sort of "emotional resonance" attempt with his Sensei. It wasn't to get to know her or to level with her or to try to offer her good advice. He was stating it as flatly as a fact and didn't honestly mind one way or the other her response or defense. He'd take it in reasonably and offer a retort in this exact same manner.

"Also," He'd say, switching topics casually, "I am not very suited to close hand-to-hand. A training dummy exercise would mostly benefit me for throwing practice," As if he'd just decided what they would be doing in the training session, Taiho kept on following after Shio while looking off in the distance.

Shisen heard someone talking but her arms, her body hurt too much to move and then water was dumped on her. It took about five seconds for her to regain consciousness after that, with a groan she pushed Arashi away so she could sit up. Looking around she noticed that Maruki was still out cold and soaked as well, it would appear to her that Kirugetsu's method of waking them, was water. Her Niken was not happy, she was all wet and was glaring daggers at her sensei, Shisen didn't care to calm the Niken.

Upon listening to her sensei, she ignored everything except for the fact that they both passed. Rather or not it was good or bad, was opinion. She didn't particularly care for their sensei, in fact, she kind of hoped that he dropped dead. Getting up and wincing as the stiffness in her joints, she walked over to Maruki. Gently rousing him, unlike the spiteful sensei, she looked at his arms and flinched. She did that to him, impaling his one arm and hurting him.

"M-Maruki... Wake up..." Shisen said as she shook him again. Arashi had a slightly better idea, sniffing at him before nipping him on the ear. Shisen couldn't help the laugh as the Niken attempted to be gentle with the Hyuga kid, of course her version of gentle was to bite you on the ears. "Is it working, sweet girl?" Shisen asked the Niken, who barked loudly before pawing at Maruki.

So, their spiteful Sensei was trying to make up for being a jerk by taking to lunch? "You shouldn't bribe us....." Shisen said a bit irritably as she waited for the Hyuga kid to wake up. Her angry act, would have possibly be convincing, if her stomach hadn't growled just then and with a frown, she sighed. "Maruki... Wake up..." she said as she nudged him again. Her body was still stiff, the pain still present but for the moment, she was choosing to ignore it.

Once she saw that Maruki was coming to, she began to follow their Sensei to the nearest medical station and with Arashi right behind her. At the Medical Station, she looked over her Arashi's injuries and began tending to the Nikens injuries. She didn't really know how to tend to the chakra points being blocked, so she just sat down. Arashi, who got tired of being gentle with Maruki, remembered that he attacked her. Getting up, the Niken walked over to him and glared at him. Before biting him, roughly on the arm that wasn't impaled in both sides, shaking it roughly before letting him go. Barking at him sharply before snarling for good measure.

Water and Fire, at the same time? Was that even possible? His face felt wet but his armed burned as well. He heard some faint sounds in the distance? Was someone calling his name. Maruki tried to clench his fist but because of the pain he clenched his teeth instead. He felt a little sting at his ear. Then a bark, Arashi. Slow but steady Maruki became conscious of his surroundings. He coughed up water that ran up his nose. Water dripped out of his ears. He tried to sit up but could not use his arms to help him with that. Using solely his abdominals he sits up. Arashi shook his arms biting it. "Hey! Let go! I didn't hurt you as bad as I could have!" Glaring darters at Arashi she backed off at least a little bit, with a snarl that was.

Finally up and come to his senses Maruki looks at his arms that burned as hell, one arm had a huge but superficial cut in it, as well as some recent bite marks, his other arms was more severely injured, being soaked in blood and impaled at both sides, he could not even move them. Kiru, seeing the both of them were awake spoke up: "Well... that wasn't bad. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good. You both fought hard, used your abilities well enough, and even tried to adapt to injuries as you took them. I guess you pass. I'd hate to send you back to the academy anyways. So how about we go get these injuries tended to. Then I'll get us lunch again, to celebrate. Sound good?" Listening to his sensei he could not help but laugh a little grim. "well, at least we passed, and lunch sounds good to be honest... Konoha hospital first also seems like a good idea too"

Maruki was helped to his feet by the new kid, who was about three years younger as he was, judging by his looks he was also younger as Shisen. The kid got cocky questioning Kiru if he was right in his decision. If he was not beaten up he would show this little kid, he took an instant dislike to the young genin who didn't even bother to introduce himself, the arrogance. As soon as he stood and walked a few steps Maruki pushed the kid away as gently as he could muster "it are my arms that are injured, not my legs. I can walk on my own" said Maruki. Slowly walking and falling back to Shisen and Arashi, Maruki overheard the conversation between Kirugetsu and Kino about chakra nature "Kirugetsu-sensei" started Maruki "I am not tested either" then he turned to the new member of their team "Maybe you can bring a chakra paper for me too?" he asked as politely as he could. The naive Hyuuga kid was always friendly and tried to be friends with everyone, especially his teammates.

Kino formed an arrow in his hand and threw it at a rock, shattering it into a hundred pieces with rained down on Maruki and Shisen. he decided not to mention it, it probably wasn't on purpose anyway. Kiru seemed to deem it necessary to show off some of his own power and to lecture the kid. And just by looking at Kirugetsu the kid copied it. Maruki hated to admit it but the kid was pretty sharp and catcher on quickly. Also telling Kiru he was able to perform the shadow clone technique picked Maruki's interest. Despite the age of the kid he was quite skilled in his own way. perhaps they could learn stuff from each other.

After a short scuffle between Kiru and Kino, Maruki limped over to the two other men and turned to talk to Kino "say, you probably catches my name already but i didn't get yours... what do you say we'd train sometime soon together. I think we can earn a lot from each other, I'm sure it'll be beneficial for the both of us"

Kami had spent the day with her students. With Shira and Namine following behind, Kami had stopped at her house first. Despite the fact Konoha was still in the midst of rebuilding, Kami and her mother had a pretty decent house. It was rather simple but decent. A plain, gray square house with definitely enough room for mother,a child, and a guest or two. Sometimes Kami thought about repainting it but... She never really had anytime. Well, that was until now. Sure forcing your students to paint your house could be an abuse of power but Kami didn't really care. She was going to use these totally-under-her-control extra helping hands while she had them. Telling her students to wait outside, Kami eventually came back outside with a few gallons of white paint. "I'm sure this counts as a bonding exercise." She told them. It wasn't like it was an unknown fact that Kami had no experience being a teacher. Shira and Namine were her trial run; they were going to give her teacher experience. Or, more importantly, knowledge of all the free stuff she could get for teaching them. "Maybe. Probably. I just need to repaint this." Kami admitted, shrugging.

She dropped a few brushes on the ground. "You guys go head and start. I'm going to find some Anatomy textbooks." She wasn't about starting easy. If she as going to have her students fully memorize the human body, then they were going to fully memorize the human body. Besides, Shira already knew quite a bit about the basics and Namine wanted to become a medical ninja. It would be disrespectful to them, especially Shira who had fought in the war, to baby them. She grabbed the bundle of textbooks from her room and wondered to the kitchen, placing the books on the table. The books were obviously loved, the binds taped to keep the books together, various pages dog-eared, and yellowed from use. Double checking to make sure she had the books she wanted to lend to her students, Kami went out to join them.

After painting the house, Kami had allowed her teammates to use her shower. It wasn't like her mother would throw a fuss over a few paint stained footprints. Kami's mother practically lived at her job and it was a rare event if they ever crossed paths in their house. Kami understood though. If she hadn't been able to heal the love of her life, she'd probably become a tad obsessive too. Once everyone had been cleaned up and Kami had offered dry non-paint-covered cloths them, she offered to take them out for dinner. If any of her students accepted, she'd take them grab some ramen. And, once the ramen as gone, she'd send them home with their arms overflowing with books.

In the morning, both Namine and Shira would get a note on their doors. Namine would simply state that Kami was unclear of her reassignment and it would be best for Namine to wait it out. Shira's would explain how both Shira and Kami had been moved to Team Sun. Their squad leader was going to be Hayato Nakamura. Kami had also explained how she'd like Shira to stop at her house first. After all, they might as well go find their new teammates and teacher together.

Shisen turned to look at the new Genin, at first glance, there was nothing special about him. Not even his arrow was impressive, it was after all just a pointy stick and sticks broke easily. Arashi lost interest in the Hyuga kid, seeing the new person and decided to check him out, heading over to him. The Niken sniffed at him, the occasional growl and snarl emitted from her throat but what Shisen thought was humorous was how the Niken greeted him. Which was with a bite towards the ankles, a mischievous glint in her eyes was enough to know that she didn't particularly care that he was snapped at.

She got to her feet, slowly, allowing a simple low whistle to escaped her chapped lips and her loyal Niken, came trotting over to her. Despite the aggression, Arashi was well suited to be a ninja hound and was quite loyal to her partner, Shisen. At the moment, Shisen was gritting her teeth due to the pain from the gentle fist and the previous fight. Not wanting to look like even more of a whimp than she most likely already did, she looked down at the ground for a moment.

Reflecting on her fight with Maruki, she could see where she lacked in the battle. Shisen lacked in her amount of learned Jutsu, the four legs technique was just as the name said it was, a technique. That left her with what? Only two half mastered Jutsu, her speed and brute force. She never told anyone this, but the remaining Inuzuka doubted her ability to become a Shinobi and doubted her logic as she picked one of the worse of toughest to work with Niken. Watching as the new kid helped Maruki on his feet, she coughed a bit to disguise her laughter as the new Genin was pushed away. With the Hyuga kid now walking next to her and then getting pelted with the remains of the rock that was once there, she was getting tired of the kid.

"Keep talking, brat.... We'll see how you like it... When Arashi crushes your throat..." Shisen said under breath as Maruki limped over to the new kid, who hadn't yet introduced himself to them. Of course, seeing how he was able to copy a Jutsu, wasn't bad but it didn't qualify as impressive to her.

Once at the hospital, she allowed the nurses to look her over and fix her up, the pain had decreased a good a bit. However better she may be, she kept a good bit of distance from the others and didn't even bother introducing herself. If he wanted to know her name, then he needed to ask and not expect everything to be handed to him.

Myth opened his eyes slowly, his head still swirling from his Safe Place jutsu. His eyes felt funny, too... Not from using his technique, but because something was in them. Myth brought his hands up to his face and balled them to fists, then tried to wipe whatever was in his eyes out. It only made things worse. Myth brought his hands away from his face and looked at them. They were coated with dust. Myth's vision blurred as tears started to form, caused by the dust in his eyes. He wiped his hands off on his pants the best he could, then tried wiping his eyes again. This worked a little better. Myth then looked around the room he was in to determine where he was.

The room itself was highly uncomfortable. There were millions of dust particles floating around the room, highlighted by small ribbons of sunlight that had weaved themselves through the boarded up windows. The dust made the air thick and dry, like on a hot day, just two times worse. As for the inhabitants of the room, there stood a bedframe in the corner. No matress, just the frame. Hugging the walls were a dresser and a wardrobe, both of which seemed to be locked. On a far wall there was a door. Myth took a look at the ceiling, a random thing he did to help him think. That act would give him one more thing to think about. On the ceiling, a giant seal had been etched. It was intricate to say the least, one with complicated curves and patterns that Myth wouldn't dream of memorizing at his current rank. It had a certain familiar vibe to it, like Myth knew what it was... But he was sure that he had never seen it before. These familiar things he kept finding were starting to throw him off. First the feeling from the abandon shop, then the voices he heard from after he used his safe place technique, and now this seal. However, above it all, Myth had one thought that rang louder than all the rest:

"Where the Hell did Yureki tell him to go?"

Myth began weighing his options. He assumed that he could simply reuse his Safe Place technique and return to his bed at home, but curiosity was really itching at him. Where was he? It could have been the inside of the store that Yureki told him to get in to. But why would a store, an abandon, boarded up one at that, have what looked like a bedroom? Also, who were those voices he heard before passing out? Myth could have sworn he heard voices... Even one that sounded familiar. All of these familiar drawings, voices, and feelings were really, really starting to throw him off. He finally decided on a simple, usual plan. He would look around the building, and if anybody tried to kill him, he would use his Safe Place technique to escape. Simple enough.

First, Myth would check the wardrobe and dresser. He jiggled the locks on them. They didn't budge. However, after a forceful tug, they breaked easily enough. After searching both of them and collecting any objects of value, he closed all of the doors and put the broken locks back. It seemed like a polite thing to do. Then, he looked at the ceiling and started making a mental image of the huge seal on the ceiling. He tried to locate distinct curves and patterns, and where these things were on the seal. After he decided he had a vague enough memory, he walked to the door. After a test of the knob, the door was revealed to be locked. Myth groaned and took a deep breath in, then turned the knob as far as it would go and shoved his shoulder against the door as hard as he could. This effectively opened the door, revealing the next room.

"I am Utaka Tsukino. I doubt you've heard that name before. Even in the academy, I was called Kino."

Upon hearing his name, anyone from their graduating class would know who Kino was. He was the strongest of his age division, but more over, was the shinobi that made his name not only once, but twice, and each time for a different reason. The first claim to fame he had within the little world that the academy made was when he pronounced he would be a shinobi archer, which most took as a joke. It wasn't until day after day that Kino brought his bow to school with him, practiced with it, and could perform stunts like shooting down shuriken from the more advanced students that the concept of shinobi archer was accepted as a possibility. With his unique performance, high-skill level and high test scores, Kino was placed into the top bracket of his class, and that was is the origin of where Kino made his real claim. Most - even some of the teachers - believed Kino only had his position in the top bracket due to his unique fighting style with the bow, thus a test was conducted, even if a bit cynical...

Sixteen of the top bracket students were pit against each other in a tournament-style series of fights, which eventually was dubbed the Academy Arena and made into a staple for the next year. Kino placed seventh. Seventh out of sixteen of the finest of the academy. Kino, who was thought to only be a practical shinobi on paper, proved his worth and proved several of his instructors wrong, and that is where he made his name. After those fights, Kino was rarely seen; he only showed up for testing alongside over a hundred other students. He was allowed to practice alone and normally only sparred with the top of his class. The fact neither of them knew him by appearance alone made perfect sense, as Kino rarely socialized. But his name. Kino. To his peers, to those who were in his class and heard the stories, that should be known.

"We're in the same squad, Maruki. I'm sure Kirugetsu-sensei will have us training relentlessly, and I doubt it will be alone," Kino replied to Maruki. Maruki, although he rejected assistance from Kino, at least looked forward to the notion of training with Kino. The other girl, Shisen, however, seemed more than reluctant to give him an opportunity. Speaking ill words that she thought no one would pick up, Kino only glared at her with disgust. Kino stopped walking, being near the hospital and no longer helping Maruki anyway, then simply said, "I'll have an elemental jutsu prepared as soon as I can, Kirugetsu-sensei. My uncle heard I was being placed on your squad, and took pride in it. I believe he has something waiting for me. I will pick it up, then immediately begin working on developing a new jutsu. When it is ready, I want to fight them - both."

And, with that, Kino was gone in a single Body Flicker. Although it was doubtful those two would pick it up, Kirugetsu might - as his honed senses most likely heard Shisen, and then picked up on the tension it created with Kino - have felt it. Kino was angry, and that anger spurred determination. Within his words was a trace of conviction...
