Xareth

Interactions: @TheHangedMan@shadeflare123

Xareth face was still on shock as he watched Kitala ball her hands up, "oh no don't" is what Xareth was thinking at the sight. There were too many people around for Xareth to use his magic if a fight broke out. Right before Kitala there the first punch she realized that one of her donuts were alright thanks to Jansen. Xareth let out a deep breath, but then saw Kitala's hands reach for phoebes hood revealing her face.

When he heard the words sorry come out the hooded girls mouth he let out a grin, relieved that she apologized and they wouldn't fight.

"Sorry....that you need to act like such a petulant child"

Oh no she didn't, Xareth said in his mind. Xareth took a step back along with 2 kids that were next to him. Well it sounded like a brawl was about to break out, They could have listened to me and took the high road but noooo. Xareth face was still, anticipating the first shot.

Jansen Reynolds

"...Thank you."

Jansen's mental high over discovering his cross-dressed effigy had been somewhat dampened by the fact that his decision to pay forward some of his good karma had somehow brought him into inadverant contact with Golem's Hand. But the Golem girl's polite response seemed to alleviate his sudden wariness. At least it did for the moment before the young wizard looked in Xareth's direction.

Xareth gave the, Your life could be in danger look.

Immediately locked in a terrifying state of tunnel vision, Jansen practically blanches, as for reasons beyond his comprehension, he finds himself on the receiving end what he perceives as some sort of death glare?!... from Golem's fire wielding S-Class! Holy crap, why?!

As a somber funeral march began accompanying his thoughts, Jansen's mind raced through a playback of what might be the very last moments of his life, trying to find his misstep. Had the fire wizard heard him scoff at the game earlier? He didn't think so. No, it couldn't be that. He did have a cut-out in the game however, so maybe it was just because he was in Harpy's Wing? No, Golem's Hand wouldn't seriously start a murderous war on their own anniversary. That would just be stupid. It couldn't be a personal vendetta, could it? No, he doubted Xareth even knew his name. So what was it then? All he'd really done, as far as he could recollect, was help the Golem girl with her donuts and she'd seemed somewhat gracious about that. So why the look then? And then suddenly it hit him.

Relatively oblivious to exchange of the women nearby, due to his own apparent pending demise, Jansen swallows the frog in his throat as he tries to recompose himself to a more dignified, if still terribly nervous state, "My apologies. I wasn't trying to... I mean... I didn't intend... I... I shall hinder your rendevous no further...," adding with a gracious smile, "... and if I might say, you do make quite the cute couple."

Turning back towards Kitala, intending to give a polite farewell nod, Jansen finally becomes cognizant of the stand off between the two women.

"Sorry....that you need to act like such a petulant child"

And Jansen is once again completely miffed as to what the heck is going on.

Kitala Lusamina

Location: Festival
Interacting with: @pkken / Xareth ; @Cardamonelaw / Jansen ; @TheHangedMan / Phoebe

"Sorry..." For a split second, Kitala thought that she was actually going to apologize. Which would have just been disappointing.

"...That you need to act like such a petulant child."

So, the worm has teeth. Kitala couldn't help but grin, even laugh a bit. "That's cute, coming from someone who looks about twelve. What are you, four foot ten?" Kitala could feel her heart start to pound just a bit. This was going to be fun. She could hear Xareth back up a bit behind her; funny, she'd half expected him to try and stop her. Which...also have been disappointing. Man, Delsin was going to eat her alive for this. But hey, it's all part of his inauguration, right? It's all part of the fun. Kitala took a deep breath, taking notice of all the sounds bouncing around the little group that had gathered. Plenty to work with, she figured, although she was only assuming this person was a mage as well. Would Xareth back her up if it comes to that? She decided it didn't matter all that much.

Because this wasn't just about the donut anymore.

"My apologies. I wasn't trying to... I mean... I didn't intend... I... I shall hinder your rendevous no further...," Kitala shifted her gaze to Jansen, giving him an odd look. What was he apologizing for? He fixed her donut; by all means, she considered him an innocent-and very kind-bystander. That is, until he spoke again. "... and if I might say, you do make quite the cute couple." Her eyes widened in shock for a moment, looking back at Xareth-who seemed scared out of his mind-and Jansen for a few moments. Did he...actually think they were a couple? That definitely caught her off guard, and she suddenly felt like knocking him around too for even suggesting something like that. "We aren't-that's not-I-no!" If there was ever a way to make things worse, he had just done it.

@Lmpkio Interaction with Mat

"Careful little Ceri-chan, You should be careful around here. You almost made me spill my tea..."

Hearing her own name visibly calmed the small mage. She blinked under her hood, staring up at the man she had run into again finally realizing that he was part of her own guild. She relaxed somewhat upon the realization, only flinching slightly and giving a small whine of discomfort as he pat her head though she didn't make any move to tell him to stop.

"Ahh, but it's ok. Don't worry about it. You didn't spill anything anyways. I take it you look a little distressed. Are you lost?"

"I-I uhm, y-yes..." She replied with a quiet stutter, voice barely audible over the sound of the festivities. She had half a mind to say that she wasn't, but it was painfully obvious that she was a terrible liar. Instead, her eyes drifted towards the ground, glaring at the stone beneath her feet. She had been living here for about a year now, hadn't she? Getting lost like this was just silly and she was slightly angry with herself.

"Sorry about the tea...I t-thought that maybe I could come today..." The robed girl grabbed the hem of her hood again, pulling it more tightly over her face. "But...there's so many people..." Anyone who even remotely knew Ceri would realize she had probably gotten quickly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things going on at the festival.

~Sihu~

@TheHangedMan@Shadeflare123@pkken - Sorely misunderstanding what's going on.

"I'm sorry . . .that you feel the need to act like such a petulant child."

Was someone being a petulant child? She wasn't even sure what 'Petulant' meant, but calling someone a child was typically an insult, right? She chewed on the food she was currently dining on, eyes eagerly taking in the scene. Looked like a few people from her guild were about to get started with the fun bits with the birds from the other guild. The birds from the other guild seemed like they were up for some fun! Well, this was gonna be a right fun festival then!

"My apologies. I wasn't trying to... I mean... I didn't intend... I... I shall hinder your rendevous no further... and if I might say, you do make quite the cute couple."

Sihu Tilted her head. Couple? Were they a couple? Lovers quarrel then or something? She only heard half the conversation, but it was all Sihu needed to decide that she should be the best friend she could be, and attempt to help with this turn of events. After all, guild mates should help each other out. She swallowed the food, making her presence known and giving Kitala a thumbs up and a grin in an attempt to say 'I got your back, fam' before speaking.

"We shouldn't interrupt their date, yeah?" Sihu replied, though she was slightly disappointed that she wasn't going to get a fight.

Kurai the Sleeping Dragon

"I'll beat you... take that... and that... ROAR!!!" Kurai said as he was talking in his sleep. He was sleeping on one of the branches in a rather large tree just at the edge of the festival. He didn't normally talk in his sleep but this was going to be an interesting day. The festival was going on and he was going to take the opportunity to enjoy it. Even if it wasn't for his guild the festival was something that most could enjoy even if Golem's Hand often showed their disdain for Harpy's Wing with their carnival games. He wasn't even bothered by that. His favorite part of the festival was that it gave him a chance to try and fight Golem Hand's resident Dark Beast Sihu. She wasn't often in town and when she was their guild masters didn't necessarily condone their sparring. Their new one likely wouldn't be any different. So their best time was when everyone was distracted by the festival. If he was excited for this fight why would he be sleeping?

Kurai had just gotten in late the night before after finishing a job. The job wasn't hard but the journey was long and tiring. He wanted to have full energy when he took her on. Down below some kids from the town had different plans for him. Some of them had noticed him and had been trying to throw rocks at him. Up until now they failed miserably mostly because their laughter threw off their throws. Finding and trying to wake up Kurai had become kind of a game for them. You'd find him asleep in the oddest of places. This time it was a bit more normal than usual.

Finally one of the kids seemed like they'd actually accomplish hitting him with a rock. It was a red haired girl. She was about eight, maybe nine at the most. She squinted to make sure her line of sight was perfect and stuck her tongue out as if she was actually testing the wind. She wasn't. She pulled her arm back and launched the rock and it hit Kurai right in the side of his head. He jerked up and yelled before falling over and out of the tree. Most of the kids left but some stayed to make sure he was alright, the girl included. "Ouch. I guess you got me this time. What's the score now?"

The kids shrugged. "We lost count but you're winning." Kurai nodded and said, "Balance is still in order then. I'll see you kids around." He then readjusted his clothes and his sword sheath before heading back into the festival to find some of the others. He hoped he hadn't missed anything exciting.

Taran

Today's the day. It's been about a year since Taran joined the guild and he still didn't really have any friends within it. Though it's all his fault. He finds it difficult to get close to people outside of the circus and he's also plagued himself with job after job after job. He believed that he'd get noticed more by the other wizards in the guild if he came back with constant success. He recently became an A Class wizard because of this. He takes pride in the accomplishment and still hopes that the others would notice and approach him more. Even if they didn't he felt like this festival would be the perfect time for him to get to know the rest of the members in the guild. Or well for them to get to know him. He knows most of the common things about them despite not talking to them much. A trick he picked up from his time in the circus.

He was walking through the festival chewing an apple and carrying around a stuffed tiger he won. It reminded him of one of the tigers back home. Maybe he'd send it back to the circus. He could win more so it wasn't a big deal to him but he was sure they'd appreciate it. Taran's attention was drawn to a small growing crowd of wizards near a bench. He recognized some of them. Mostly the two S Class Wizards of his guild. The others must have been from Harpy's Wing. He knew from his time here that those two guilds didn't necessarily get along. And with gathering numbers this situation could only take one direction. A fight.

He made his way over still chewing on his apple. "Who's on a date?" He asked peering in.

. . .

Phoebe blinked owlishly at the sudden strange turn of events, and her anger was suddenly put out as though doused by a bucket of icy water. The girl in front of her, who she was now sure was a mage of Golem's Hand - the guild mark on her stomach that she had failed to notice now had her attention - was one moment from attacking her, the next, beet red and stuttering like a love-struck schoolgirl. Which she probably was, thought Phoebe, if going by the multiple accusations from a steadily growing crowd of people that she suddenly realized were there.

Still though, Golem's Hand . . . starting any kind of conflict with them would be pointless. She was loathe to cause Anwen any sort of trouble, and if she were to hear that she'd started a fight with one of their numbers over something like interfering with their little romantic engagement, well, it didn't bear thinking. Foolishness was not a strong enough word to describe what that scenario would be.

Yes, Phoebe was definitely not going to start a fight over something as incredibly petty as interrupting a date. That was just not worth spending time over.

"I . . . see," said Phoebe, throwing her hood back on, and stepping away from Kitala, "I . . . would rather not start a fight over something like this. I did not realize that you were with your beau." She tilted her head at Xerath. "Your choice of woman aside . . . I wish you find happiness together."

Hopefully the other girl would let her off with that, if not, Phoebe could always backtrack with Sun Chariot.

Matt observes Ceri as she answers timidly. "I-I uhm, y-yes..." she stutters, her voice being almost inaudible to the regular ear.

The man sighs as he takes a quick look around him.

"I don't blame you." he replies cooly, "The streets are bustling with festive faces and leisurely activities. It can be very easy to get lost in."

He then pauses as he looks more around and then back at the little girl.

"Sorry about the tea..." apologizes Ceri shyly as she tries to hide her face with her robe, "I t-thought that maybe I could come today... But... there's so many people..."

Matt nods in agreement, again, looking around to see what's in the general area. He then spots a shooting stall where participates took hold of a rifle and tried to knock down as many targets in order to get a prize... one of the many cute and adorable fuzzy toy animals! This should help cheer Ceri up. He smiles as he picks the young girl up by her waste and places her upon his two hefty shoulders.

"Come now." he replies as he places her on his shoulders, pointing to the direction of the stall, "There's a shooting range that provides prizes I think you'd enjoy. I'll take you there."

Whether Ceri would agree to this or not, regardless Matt begins walking towards the stall. He then looks over to see a group of mages talking about something in a little group. They appear to have been arguing a bit over something. One of the things he manages to hear is "I... would rather not start a fight over something like this. I did not realize that you were with your beau."

They weren't fighting now, but Matt senses the possibility of a brawl at a high rate. But at the same time, perhaps they could just be relaxing and dealing with their problems in a more... humane manner. Matt keeps his ears open, just in case something pops up. He'd rather not get in their business, but wouldn't hesitate to break it up if necessary. He then continues walking with Ceri towards the stall.

Eric Vasquez

Interaction: Matisuki"Matt"@Lmpkio Ceri @Rune_Alchemist

Festivals meant two things, lots of food for one to eat and as a consequence of that lots of money spent and Eric being the cheap person that he was determined to spent the smallest amount of money. His plan was perfect in hindsight, for special events Eric had amassed an impressive collection enough so that if his calculations were right he would be able to eat to his heart's content and just have to pay 50 jewels. What he did not expect was that the owners would adapt to his plan, as he entered one if the restaurants a waiter stopped him and pointed to a sign that said ”Coupons and old discounts won't be accepted today, please pay in cash” “Hope you didn't try to pull the same stunt that you did last Christmas, if you have any money please enter, if not you already know the exit” the waiter remarked in a rather harsh tone.

Eric was a little bummed out but quickly returned to normal, there were more than one restaurant on Luna's crescente and it's not like every restaurant in the city didn't accept any kind of discounts just for today. Again his expectations were blown as in a cruel twist of fate, every restaurant or food stand he entered had a similar sign to the one he saw, some mentioning him directly and others had a crude drawing of him.

How much of a threat was he considered to their business? Eric wondered as he wandered around the city, looking for something to eat that either costed 50 jewels or accepted his coupons. His answer came in the form of a poster on a wall which said “Do you think you and your friends are strong enough to challenge the MIGHTY DRAGON curry, said to be too hot even for dragon slayers and survive? Find out here!, If you and two friends manage to eat the dragon curry in under one hour the meal is free!!!!and the three of you gain a prize of 20,000 jewels and a 50% discount on every meal for a month!!, try it now at the Red slayer buffet".

Eric's eyes lighted up like a moth looking at a lamp, he just needed to find someone who wanted to eat with him, someone with an appetite big enough to help him win the prize. Looking around Eric saw a group of mages, they appear to be quarreling and dangerously close to start fighting, but Eric overheard a someone said date, were they having a lovers quarrel? or one was just jealous of the other? either way he didn't want to meddle in unless they started fighting so he continued to look for people.

Looking around he saw Matt carrying a small girl over his shoulders who he took more time to recognize, while not being friends with him, he looked up to Matt since he was a pretty powerful magician with his mastery of take over magic, and unlike Eric he did not require a something to use his powers. On the other hand he barely recognized the girl, but he recognized her by her attire, thought his name eluded him at the moment. Matt looked as the perfect candidate for the test and even if he couldn't know how the girl would fare, Eric felt they were a better option than the bickering mages so he approached them.

Since they were on their way on their shooting stall, Eric speed up his pace to arrive before them, and started shooting on the range, there were other three spots so the chance that the range filled was slim. Once Matt and the girl came to the range, Eric waited a few moments before asking Matt “Hey not sure if you know me, I'm part of Harpy's Wing too; but regardless of that I would like to ask you and your companion to help in a contest with a prize of 20,000 jewels for each winner, since the contest requires three people I cannot compete on my own so I ask you if you can help me out”

Kyuuten Rallis

@LostDestiny

Artial's response to Pyrrha's comment was about as typical as you'd expect from the drunk. However, Kyuuten couldn't help for feel the hidden weight behind it. Harpy's Wing is famous for taking in people who have lost a lot. No one in the guild is really without a couple invisible scars...but they've comfort in each other. "Well, I know I'd rather you be drunk that stuck in your room too." Kyuuten gave her his trademark sunny smile. Pyrrha sunk into herself some feeling a little bad for bringing it up. Artial was quick to remedy that asking about the bear tucked snugly between her and her arm. "Oh, um...Alain? I think I like that name. Kyuu won him actually." She smiled shyly while her Celestial wizard chuckled at Artial thoughts on the games Golem had set up. "I do wish you'd take our problems with Golem a fifth as seriously as those booths imply they do..." "If we did that we'd never get anywhere with them." Really, she couldn't argue with that. It would be easier if they could get along but stubbornness seems to run strongly in both guilds. Kyuuten just happens to be stubborn on the opposite front. Artial asked about their plans for the rest of the festival. "Yeah, I wanna see the inauguration. It's not everyday you get to see someone become a guild master. Wish I had been there for Anwen's. What about you? Not planning to stick around?" Kyuuten made a cartoonishly disappointed face.

Delsin Bastille

Adjusting his glasses, Delsin sat down with the retiring guildmaster in the library. They started a game of chess, the strategics of the game allowing him to get his mind off things. "I apologize if I disturbed you." The old man waved away the apology. "Not at all. It's been quite some time since I've been able to find a partner to enjoy this game with. You've been away too long Delsin." Delsin made his move. "Then I still feel I must apologize." The old man was a wise veteran of the game. "No need. I am dumping a heavy weight on your shoulders. You needed the time to prove to yourself that you could bear it." Delsin countered swiftly. After the guild master told him that he'd be his successor, Delsin had set out on a five month training journey. He traveled as much of Fiore as he could in order to prepare himself for taking on the mantle of master. He had only returned a month ago. "I won't act as if I found my answers while I was away but I am at least better assured that I won't drive your legacy into the ground. Are you sure you wish to retire so soon Grandfather?" The elder chessman chuckled. "You've always had a sharp mind, I have faith in your abilities. It's been four years since the guild's inception. My goal was to build a solid foundation. It'll be your job to build upon that foundation." Delsin made his next move and sat back looking out the small window. "For someone so against my retirement you seem to have quite a lot of determination in those eyes." The old man set up a dangerous trap on the board. "If nothing else, I'll make sure Golem's Hand is always here to defend Luna."

After a few more turns Delsin found himself cornered. He saw a way out and made his move. Now he had set his own trap. As he sat back he glanced out the window and saw the Harpy's guildhall in the distance. As he looked upon the rival guild's abode he couldn't help but admire the elegant form it took. It was a marvel even among rivaling the settlement of Luna Crescente itself. A tree reaching high into the sky. It's... "It's really quite infuriating, isn't it? From that nest of theirs, the Harpies have such a magnificent view of this land, yet still failed to perceive what threatened it." Delsin looked at the old man with surprise. "When you let your guard down you're very easy to read my young successor~" Delsin scoffed at the statement. "Hmph, you claim to see through me in a mere instant, for that is the measure in which I do lower my guard if ever?" The old man smiled wryly. "I assure you I do not claim anything." As if Delsin had blatantly told him his plan, the old man expertly countered it and left the his grandson speechless except for two words. "Check mate..." Sighing, he already started thinking about the ways he could have prevented his defeat. "Thank you for the game..." The old man said standing up. Delsin looked away from his grandfather showing that he was still immature in some ways such as when losing.

As both Xerath and the Golem girl seemed to rebuff his assessment of the situation, despite the consensus of the sudden and rather unsettling gathering of other Golem members, Jansen is once again a bit confused, "Okay, my mistake then." Nonetheless, for whatever reason, Xerath did not seem to be giving him murder eyes anymore and whatever unfortunate-ness was brewing between Phoebe and the Golem girl seemed to also have passed.

Simply happy to remove himself from what would now forever be cataloged away in his mind as the day of the dirty donuts and denied dating debacle, Jansen gives the assembled wizards a series of quick courteous nodding gestures, "In any event, congratulations on the anniversary. The festival really seems to be a great success.", before casually stepping away and back out towards the crowds of people, finally letting out a anxious exhale of breath once he was well clear of the group.

Jansen then heads off in the general direction he was fairly sure he had seen Kyuuten playfully launching himself into the air not long ago, but once again finds making actual progress through the crowds of jovial citizens and occasional surges of rambunctious children rather daunting.

@Lmpkio Interaction with Mat
@Fourze

"What, do I look like a doll or something you can just pick up and play with?" Was the first thought that ran through the small girls mind, but thankfully all that managed to escape her lips was shouting "W-wha?!" in a somewhat panicked manner as she was suddenly lifted. The robed girl had to restrain herself from suddenly disappearing in poof of smoke and bolting. The mention of prizes and 'shooting' range was enough for her to at least remain somewhat interested despite the suddenness of the situation. Not like she had much say in the matter at the moment. Mat seemed intent to take her to this shooting stall, and she didn't have the voice to protest.

That said...she was probably having a bit of attention drawn to her sitting on his shoulders like this. She didn't want to stand out so much. So she simply grabbed the hem of her hood in her usual fashion, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible. It didn't seem to work.

“Hey not sure if you know me, I'm part of Harpy's Wing too; but regardless of that I would like to ask you and your companion to help in a contest with a prize of 20,000 jewels for each winner, since the contest requires three people I cannot compete on my own so I ask you if you can help me out”

"Do I look like I want to take part in some contest? Granted, I'm wearing a big poofy robe, but read the air, really!"

She looked up from her hood, glancing at the guy who spoke to them. He said he was in Harpy's wing, didn't he? She had seen him around a bit, definitely. Not that she really knew who he was. She didn't know many people in the guild, but she at least knew their faces names, and whether or not she liked being around them. She didn't have much of an opinion on him, but if he was asking her to take part in something she really didn't want too, then she couldn't say her opinion of him was very high. Not that he would ever know that.

"C-contest? Oh my, uhm..." Ceri fidgeted, still not very comfortable sitting on Mat's shoulders. Would it be rude not to say yes? He was a guild mate, so wasn't she obligated to help? To say she was conflicted, was an understatement. She didn't want to come off as rude, but she really didn't want to take part. "I...I don't know..."

~Sihu~

@Shadeflare123@pkken

"Well, yes." Sihu replied, tilting her head not entirely certain what he was getting at. "But this festival is a pretty fun place if you want to take someone on a date, isn't it?" She asked. Well, it wasn't exactly her kind of festival unless someone was showing off their impeccable fighting skills, but she wasn't gonna judge these foreigners in their mannerisms. Was he implying he wasn't dating this girl from Harpies wing or something? She honestly hadn't a clue, so she wasn't going to press the issue.

Instead, she turned her head towards the harpy's wing girl. That was who she was, wasn't she? She was pretty sure at least. So she'd probably know where Kurai was.

"Hey," She said to Phoebe. "You in Harpy's wing with Kurai, yeah? Any idea where he is? I wanna beat him up again."

"C-contest? Oh my, uhm..." "I...I don't know..."

On his days a merchant with his parents Eric learned that if a customer said “I don't know” most of the times it was no and in this situation it probably mean that, but Eric really wanted the prize and even if he didn't inherit his dad's natural charisma for convincing customers he had to try. From the looks of things the girl was clearly shy so she probably didn't want the attention of being in a contest. Eric took a moment to contemplate what to say, looking into his more than ten years of living with two experienced merchants, they had to deal with a shy customer at one point?. After a few seconds Eric spoke. “How about I challenge to a duel here miss? Taking advantage of the shooting range, If I shoot more targets than you, you accompany me to the contest, if I lose I leave you two alone and will pay you 200 jewels next time I meet you”

Ten years of living with merchants seemed to have gone out of the window once he said that. To Eric spending money on the shooting range and not using it bothered him more than to think of a way to convince the girl to participate in the contest despite her shyness. So Eric decided to use the shooting range as a way of solving both problems, clearly not thinking things through. To add fuel to the fire, Eric had said that with the most “confident salesman” smile he could do, completely oblivious that the smile looked fake and sort of mocking.

As Matt and Ceri approached the shooting range, they saw several people already shooting as well. He eyes the prizes that were on the far shelves, which should fit the little girl nicely. However, before he was going to put Ceri down, they were halted by another person already there.

“Hey not sure if you know me, I'm part of Harpy's Wing too; but regardless of that I would like to ask you and your companion to help in a contest with a prize of 20,000 jewels for each winner, since the contest requires three people I cannot compete on my own so I ask you if you can help me out”

Matt looked at the man questioningly, almost as if he didn't quite remember him, but felt like he saw him before. After all, the guild was filled with a lot of mages anyways, and Matt only really knows a few of the guildmates, including the guild master. Then it finally clicked. He recalls him being an Eric. Eric Vasquez. He hasn't seen or talked to him much, but he often sees him doing his own thing around in the guild hall. Wasn't he also a Take-Over magic dude? Like doesn't he turn into like... bugs or something? He couldn't recall exactly, but he does know of him otherwise.

Matt was going to respond to Eric first, already opening his mouth, until Ceri jumped in just seconds before he could speak.

"C-contest? Oh my, uhm... I...I don't know..."

Again, Matt tried to speak in his own thing about it, until interrupted again by Eric.

“How about I challenge to a duel here miss? Taking advantage of the shooting range, If I shoot more targets than you, you accompany me to the contest, if I lose I leave you two alone and will pay you 200 jewels next time I meet you”

Matt than takes his chance to speak.

"Wait wait wait," he says quickly to Eric, "You haven't even told us what this contest you're inviting us to is about. Let me see the flyer first."

Most likely, Matt would be given the flyer to inspect (if not, let me know and I'll delete from this paragraph onwards). He reads:

“Do you think you and your friends are strong enough to challenge the MIGHTY DRAGON curry, said to be too hot even for dragon slayers and survive? Find out here!, If you and two friends manage to eat the dragon curry in under one hour the meal is free!!!! and the three of you gain a prize of 20,000 jewels and a 50% discount on every meal for a month!!, try it now at the Red Slayer Buffet".

Matt has no problems in devouring spicy food. Being able to transform into a fire-breathing Lizardking, the heat means nothing to him. What does worry him however, is the fact that an INNOCENT, FRAGILE, LITTLE GIRL IS ALSO BEING INVITED TO THE COMPETITION AS WELL! He frowns at Eric's choice. He wants to put it down... then again, if they do go, he could carry the team and not allow Ceri to be extensively harmed by the hotness of the food. He looks at Ceri... then at Eric... and then back at Ceri again several times before making his decision.

"I'm sorry Ceri..." he says in his mind regrettably as he makes his decision, looking at Eric straight in the eyes, "Very well. We accept your challenge... Eric Vasquez."

He swiftly picks up a dart pistol with one of his bulky arms and prepares to duel.

Kitala Lusamina

Location: Festival, completely mortified
Interacting with: @Rune_Alchemist / Sihu ; @pkken / Xerath ; @King Kindred / Taran ; @Cardamonelaw / Jansen ; @TheHangedMan / Phoebe

"We shouldn't interrupt their date, yeah?" Kitala turned around to look at Sihu, her jaw clenched tightly. She was a Golem's Hand member, S-Class at that. "No, no, it's not a date," she said through her teeth, the frustration obvious in her tone. "It's nothing like that at all, okay?" She had half a mind to sucker punch her. And that guy who started all this. And that brat with the cloak. But it seems that Kitala's misfortune would persist, as at that moment Taran made his way over. "Who's on a date?" Kitala just groaned, before turning to face him with a death glare. "Nobody is on a date. Nobody." At this point, she definitely regretted trying to start a fight. That was not a feeling she was used to.

"I . . . see," Oh great, she was talking again. As if her day wasn't terrible enough! "I . . . would rather not start a fight over something like this. I did not realize that you were with your beau." Kitala covered her face with her hands, slowly turning to look back at Phoebe. Who even used the word "beau" anymore?! "He's not my...'beau,' first of all..." She was about to keep talking when Phoebe spoke again, this time to Xerath. "Your choice of woman aside . . . I wish you find happiness together." Seriously? "Can you please just...stop talking? It's not like that." She just wanted to leave.

Kitala gave Xerath a grateful look as he politely refuted everyone's claims, just now realizing this was sort of her fault. Damn...she'd have to apologize to him later. He was surprisingly calm, at least, which she supposed was a good thing. As Jansen spoke again, Kitala prepared herself for the worst, but he just...changed the subject. She suddenly felt very torn between hating him and appreciating his existence as a human being, seeing as he fixed her donut and thankfully changed the subject, but also got them into this whole dating mess to begin with. Maybe she just...would leave him alone for now. Bad things happened when she tried to start something, so it would possibly just be best to leave it all alone.

At the sound of Sihu's voice, Kitala looked at her guildmate with momentary confusion. "I uh, I guess it'd be a nice place if you took someone on a date, yeah..."

Artial Alagore

Location: Festival Interactions: @Vongola_Hasayo-Kyuuten Rallis

Atrial nodded. "That is true. An inauguration sure is something rare, however it is highly likely that I will be far to drunk by then to even remotely realize what is going on by then." She took another swig of her drink. She looked around the crowd and smiled at some passers-by who seemed to be having a decent amount of fun. "I will probably stick around for a little while longer, but I have to go get my dad from the guild hall and take him home in a couple of hours. He will be far more drunk than I will be by then." She was sure Kyu was familiar with what had happened during the attack on Luna. A lot of life was lost and everyone in the guild knew that her mother was one of those who died. Most people put up with Atrial and her father drinking around this time, though the rest of the time Atrial's drunkenness was simply an annoyance. "Might go see if I can find Matt. I am sure he is around here somewhere." She wanted to talk to him about maybe teaming up on a mission at some point.

~Ceri~

@Lmpkio
@Fourze
- fleeing the scene.

Ceri's eyes went wide under her hood. They...they did? They accepted his little challenge? Oh dear. She shivered slightly at the thought of being in a contest...with everyone looking at her...in the spotlight. They might as well just skip the entire formalities of this then, because there was no way she was winning this. She wasn't good at all at this sort of thing, and there wasn't any way she could win this. This wasn't something the small mage intended to go through with, especially after seeing the flyer. She wasn't doubted Mat's skill of course, but she wasn't as brave as he was.

"I-I u-uhm...I don't," She squeaked, fumbling with words more so than usual. "I-I'm not-this isn't-" Words failing her, she defaulted to her most often used form of fleeing. Suddenly, there was a loud poomf noise. Mat would suddenly feel himself being assaulted by a surprising amount of force as smoke forcefully ejected itself from beneath Ceri's robes, followed by a thick blanket of almost fog like white, odorless smoke filling the area in a surprisingly short amount of time.

The smoke only lasted seconds and likely could be seen from quite a way away, but by the time it cleared, Ceri was already gone. During the brief time it had blanketed the area the small mage's legs carried her surprisingly quickly from the two of them and had already managed to flee quite a distance away, though she hadn't been paying attention to where exactly she had been running to.

"Smooth, me, real nice. Ten outta ten on 'how not to make friends'."

She pulled the hood tighter over her face as she finally stopped running, taking a moment to try and get her bearings. Today really wasn't going well, was it?

Eric Vasquez

Interaction: Matisuki "Matt" @Lmpkio Mention: Ceri @Rune_Alchemist

"Very well. We accept your challenge... Eric Vasquez."

Eric didn't expect that Matt would be the one to respond and even less that he would accept the challenge. His acceptance meant that Matt could convince Ceri to participate if Eric won, but on the other hand Eric would competing against the Lizard king himself and even if it wasn't a mage duel between the two of them , the fact his money and the chance to win the prize was on the line made him feel like it. Eric nervously grabbed the dart pistol at the same time Matt grabbed his, and began thinking about how he could win, not listening to Ceri who was trying to catch their attention.

Suddenly the whole area was covered in smoke and Eric's thoughts were interrupted as smoke covered his vision. Fearing it was a dark guild attack Eric was a moment away from transforming into Mantis when the smoke cleared up; and when he noticed that only thing was missing from the scene, Eric knew what had happened Maybe…. I put too much pressure on her.... Eric said to Matt. He couldn't believe what had happened, one of the members he needed was gone, did he scare her into escaping? Eric felt a little bad since Ceri was originally with Matt and he made her run away, Eric made a mental note to search for her to apologize to her but first needed to see if Matt was going to search for her or continue with the contest.

Matisuki Kiryuin

Interaction: Eric @Fourze; Mentions: Ceri @Rune_Alchemist

Matt looked down upon the shorter Eric as he prepares to begin the little competition. He wasn't expecting Ceri to be involved, in fact he didn't want her to have her entire mouth be set on fire, rather he's doing so to just get this over with and have the little girl be unharmed. Usually he wouldn't mind a curry eating challenge, which for him being able to transform into a giant fire-breathing lizard, makes him rather invulnerable to hot foods, but he just can't do it with Ceri onboard. Not this time. Also, 200 jewels was pretty neat anyways, so why not give it a shot. Eric was simply, and literally in some cases, a simple bug that Matt will have no problem squashing.

As he studies the young man's almost hesitant movement as he picks up the gun, he suddenly hears a loud poof, followed by a force that knocks him back a few feet.

"Hgnnn!" he growls as he regains his footing, slouching his body down as he rears up to find out what's going on.

He and Eric then find themselves surrounded by a white fog of smoke. He coughs twice as the smoke slowly dissipates into the air. When it cleared, Ceri was nowhere to be seen. She must've chickened out when Matt accepted the challenge. Again, he had full confidence that he would win the dart balloon competition and spare Ceri of the spice challenge. Looks like she had very low expectations, or was simply too scared to stick around. He looks to his left, seeing Eric.

"Maybe... I put too much pressure on her..." the young man says to Matt slowly.

"Perhaps you did..." the Lizardking responds calmly as he brushes himself off, ending with a grunt, "Without her, your contest of your's cannot be fulfilled."

He pauses as he looks out to the main street, already being heavily crowded by visitors.

"Who knows where she might've ran off too..." he continues while scratching his back.

She may likely be going back to the guild hall, but it's far from being certain. He then turns to Eric again.

"Afterall... you do realize you were trying to take an innocent little girl under your wing for a spicy curry challenge, yeah?"

Phoebe

Location: Festival || Interactions: Kitala, Xerath, Sihu, Ceri
@Shadeflare123 @Rune_Alchemist @pkken

. . .

Phoebe blinked, an action that most likely none would catch under the shadow of her hood, and revised what she knew about the relationship between Kitala and Xerath; no, they were not in an intimate relationship, and no, they were not on a date. Why then was the girl so angry? Surely she couldn't be so childish as to actually get mad over a fallen donut? One that was already recovered for her? Under the cover of her hood, Phoebe's lip curled down slightly, in an expression that was almost distaste. Her earlier remark about her childishness may have been more on the mark than she thought.

Before she could form a solid thought on that though, her attention was diverted to Sihu. Kurai? Wasn't that a guild mate of hers? She wasn't particularly close with him - or anyone in the guild for that matter - but she was aware that he was something of a combat junky, and so was Sihu, for that matter. What was the relation between the two? she wondered. In any case, she still had to give her an answer.

"I'm afraid I do not know," she answered honestly. "I am from Harpy's Wing, yes, but I'm not particularly close with him." She ended with a shrug of her shoulders.

Pulling her hood tighter over her head, Phoebe turned away from the rest of the group. "If you require . . . nothing else, I will be going," she said, dipping her head and walking away quickly. She'd rather not be around no less than three members of Golem's Hand, with two of them being highly destructive S-class mages, and the one having a choleric temper; staying around any one of them was tempting fate enough as it was.
