Star Wars: Scav’s

"It is a period of civil war.
Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.
In response an example was made out of the planet of Alderaan, revealing the Empire’s ultimate weapon; The DEATH STAR.
Uncertainty, outrage and panic engulfs the galaxy as a notorious scavenging crew sees an opportunity for profit in these dire times…”

A GR-75 Transport comes into view while it is rounding an asteroid. Instead of a regular transport this GR-75 has a part of the lower hull removed to make room for a modest hangar bay from which a number of smaller spaceships set about towards a huge asteroid field. (In full Rogue One style text appears in the lower left corner of the screen:)

Remains of Alderaan
Core Worlds.

The OOC:

Greetings Gentlebeings,

In “Star Wars: Scav’s” we will roleplay a group of scavengers/mercenaries/(darn maybe even pirates if we are opportunistic) that crew the heavily modified GR-75 called the Swift Fortune. Captained by the Devaronian Areem Vikargo it is a haven for all kinds of people like people in need of quick credits, people that need a period off the radar and generally speaking people who have had better times (that’s your character!).

The roleplay is set during the opening moments of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. To be more specific slightly after Grand Moff Tarkin blew up Alderaan (let’s say 3 days after). With the explosion of a planet Captain Vikargo is sure there is something of worth floating around in this dangerous zone and he has decided to move fast, hopefully before other competitors. Our starting moments will be roughly 1 post before we exit hyperspace.

Just as a guideline, I think the following roles are good on the ship:
Doctor (Already filled!)
Mechanic
Starfighter pilot (to keep the competition away etc)
Pilot/boatswain (sort of the guy under the captain that flies the Swift Fortune)
Scavengers!
Mercenaries (The scavenging profession tends to breed situations in which their talents shine)
Cook?
You name it!

On that note: Force sensitives! Yes I will allow them but keep in mind that you are in the middle of the ‘dark times’. Force sensitives are being hunted down, and there is a lack of training in this regard. For most people force sensitivity will come down to having slightly more accurate ‘hunches’ than other people do (“I have a bad feeling about this”). A Jedi on the run would be acceptable as well, but the hunting down part still applies. In general anything force sensitive would normally try to hide it in order to keep out of trouble, it might even be viewed as a bad thing for some (it’s a curse!). Possession of a lightsaber is a good way to get killed as well. The Empire has posted nice ‘finders fees’ for these items, though the interrogations afterwards are never that fun. On the black markets of the galaxy these things sell for a hefty price, thus be careful when showing you have one. Even civilized men might turn you in, or even try to steal it to make a boatload of credits themselves.

In essence we are all scavengers and that haul in stuff, we can just vary in our specialities outside of that.

To aid the narrative structure I have chosen to use a roleplaying system behind the screen. This does not mean you have to roll any dice or have to wait for me to do so. You roleplay as normal but I get the added benefit of using the narrative system to keep writing creative and unexpected, even for me. It is a simplified version of the Edge of the Empire system and character creation is quite easy.
One thing I do want to point out is the fact that you may be using ‘Obligation’. This basically is the burden you carry, the thing you are on the run from and so on. In a technical sense it gives you more starting experience to pour into statistics and skills. In the narrative sense it gives you a way to bring your characters history/personality into the roleplay. Make it something you want to occur, but is in fact bad for your character (though it might tie up loose ends if it occurs). Is your character addicted to spice? Does he have a family that his or her credits go to? Is there a bounty on your head? Did you part ways with a previous employer in a way that he still wants your head? Is the Empire after you? Do you have to sell Areem out to a competitor? Are you trying to get the Swift Fortune to aid the reb……………. It goes on.

So now for the Character sheet:

I have put all the “[“ brackets as a “{“bracket so you can easily copy the sheet, put it in word and when done you can replace all { brackets back to [ brackets to have it show up as it should
support.office.com/en-us/article/Find-.. shows you how!

Please post in the OOC before posting under the character tab!

@KorkoaI think it's great! I immidiately spotted an oversight on my part: a Role on the ship: tab, even though this becomes clear in the history tab I added earlier for clarity.

in the 'role on the ship' line of thought; how do you see that ship pick up cargo in space? Would he be more of a 'spotter' for valuable stuff or would he use another ship for scavenging purposes?

Aside from that, though I think we can stretch it, the hangar bay of the Swift Fortune would not be big enough for a light freighter, which means that normally it would be connecter via a docking clamp or anything. Just so you know ^^

I see nothing wrong with the CS apart from the entire first part being in caps, if you add my late addition to the CS you are good to poost on in the characters tab!

@Almosegosum
Ha, so added the {b]Role on the ship:{/b] thingy, just add that and you are golden.

The organ cloning thing is awesome!, check out the ship deck plan, and the medbay is on the top deck, maybe you have a seperate cargo module where you (and the captain) have the code off that you use for the organ experiments on the lower deck?

Again, great sheet feel free to post after adding my oversight ^^

I can't wait for this to happen... partly because I am at my boring desk job and I have very little to keep my mind busy.

@frapet@Caster Hello! Just so you know Caster, @ mentions don't work through an edit, but this should work.

I like Caster! I think the whole team will play very interestingly off of each other!

I think the history needs a bit ore fleshing out. For instance how he came to face off a jedi after his discharge, how he got to the Swift Fortune and maybe a bit about how he got his ship etc.
The sheet is missing the Role on the ship: tab for clarity ^^

I like the character concept, the only thing I am not sure about is that 'half-mandalorian' thing. As far as I know being mandalorian is a cultural way of life rather than a relation by blood. Something that doesn't outright makes being half-mandalorian impossible, but maybe in need of some more explanation. (on that subject a few times I think you mean Mandalore where you write Mangalore)

Again I like the concept and I think what you aim to do on the ship is great!

Cool! We have a cook! I think the sheet is neigh perfect, only thing I am still interested in is how you got on the Swift Fortune.

Beside that; while scavenging, what do you see yourself doing? Would you remain on the Fortune or would you be out gathering stuff?

After the small change to history you can post (second question is just for me ^^)
