Hey, you, how would you like a recon squad to be transferred to your platoon?

@Proser Space is going, but there is still some.

You'll probably be the last one until I see what everyone who has already expressed interest is up to.

Hey, you, how would you like a recon squad to be transferred to your platoon?
The role of Recon was originally conducted by infantry before some genius decided to dedicate soldiers to that purpose. In fact, in WWII, every squad had two soldiers who were dedicated as "Scouts". Their function in the squad was to provide early warning to the squad or platoon during movement.

Would you be interested in taking on one of the squads that are already listed? We can delete my NPCs and add yours. Then when the platoon is deployed, your squad gets all the action because the other three squads are NPC. Currently, the squad or "section" consists of six men lead by a sergeant (section leader) and Corporal (assistant section leader). The other four members are LMGunner, Grenadier and two riflemen.

Would this work for you?

Lauder, I weep with happiness. Trooper Neban is great!

The fact, he was not present with the unit on Anaxes will set him apart from the others. The survivors are depressed, morose and mourning the loss of their brothers and sisters. Halliq will be viewed as an outsider, maybe even initially outcast, even though his platoon mates really need/want him and more like him. There may be a difference of opinion among the members. Some are happy to see him and some are not.

When the Platoon Sergeant speaks to him, he should learn his skills, I quoted from your CS below. Halliq would become his Section's Designated Marksman. Also, when it comes to assaults, the squad would split into two teams, the Support Team consisting of Corporal Dalmuth, Trooper Ortez and Trooper Soltana; and the Assault Team consisting of Sergeant Paltoy, Trooper Valante and Trooper Neban. Your guy gets to charge into the thick of the enemy and kill Imperials; put that Vibrosword to good use.

Character Name:
Halliq Neban

Unit:
Second Section, Karada's First Platoon

Skills:
  • Great Tactician
  • Phenomenal Sharpshooter
  • Trained Swordfighter
  • Good Tracker
  • Knowledgeable on trapping and ambushing
  • Can speak basic and is fluent in Kaleesh

Halliq had been deployed from cell to cell, never really seeing any combat until, luckily, he found himself upon The Keep where he was added in the Kanada’s First Platoon as a replacement for the many losses within the Platoon. He has not been available for the raid at Anaxes due to him being processed into the platoon and his new squad.

Supporting Cast:
The Second Section, First Platoon

Sergeant Jyneth Paltoy (F) – 2nd Section Leader, BR
Corporal Aberforth Dalmuth – Asst. Section Leader, 2nd Section, BR
Trooper Guillermo Soltana –2nd Section, LMGunner
Trooper Syani Ortez (F) – 2nd Section, Grenadier
Trooper Marc Valante – 2nd Section, BR
Trooper Halliq Neban -2nd Section, BR

The letter "F" indicates the Females of the group.

In that case, I think I'll have my character be a member of the second SpecForce's squad. I was imagining the squad being a jack of all trades sort, so this will work better, not to mention the fact that it creates an interesting dynamic.

No problem. Just tell me what slot you want to grab and I'll shift things around for your character. Basically, I'm keeping a certain species balance in there where humans are not the majority of beings in there, though they are three or four members of the squad.

Yeah that's perfect for me. I'm working on a human character but I like the assortment of species.

Dammit Sep. You and your effective targeted recruiting (and re-watching Rogue One today totally had nothing to do with it <.< >.> ).

I shall bring Kytra back and assume command of those Y-wings.... Tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing what our Alderaanian captain thinks about having minor Alderaan nobility on-board.

No problem. If you want to take over the LT spot in the second squad, I can bump the Duros down and remove a Human. I might pull different race members over into Besk's piece of it to make room for whatever you want to do. I definitely want to hang onto the Hutt-space races, the Weequay, Rodian and Nikto, since those are often fringer types, and I want to hang onto the Mon Cal, Aqualish and Nautolan, as they are aquatic races and that gives them a degree of flexibility in terms of inherent capabilities the Empire just wouldn't have.

We could also use a Wookiee, but I held off on that.

No, it's fine. My character is a new recruit into the Alliance, so he's just a corporal. And that's funny that you mention a Wookie, because I was thinking the same thing.

What about a Houk? I'm still running concepts by Sep but I might go with one, they're some of the biggest bruisers in the galaxy. Second maybe to the Wookiees on the list of physically strongest species, according to the wiki.

Of course, it was more in a "would that be useful to you" sense. Sorry to bother everyone!
