Ω C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

I've had this concept of 'Nightwing and Starfire: Hard Travelling Heroes' in my head for quite sometime and I've always wanted to have a chance to flesh it out. The basic synopsis follows the pair through their lives and while I've already discussed with Gowi about him using a younger Starfire, for the most part it'll be me portraying these characters at various points in their lives. Initially though, I'll be focusing on an arc in the present. Once this is completed I'll be able to move out and play the characters through their various life periods, whether this means partnering Robin with Batman or teaming up with other Titans.

To me, Dick Grayson is a born leader and something of a social butterfly, therefore he's a very easy character to collaborate with. Given that this version of Dick is more nomadic, it allows easier collaboration with other players in the same time frames. Starfire on the other hand I see as more of a strong woman, yes there's the canon Tamarean characteristics, but this is not the animated Teen Titans' Starfire who is aloof and naive, this is a hardened Starfire who has endured slavery and abuse before finding friendship on Earth. Yes, she still wears her heart upon her sleeve but she's not just kissing people to assimilate language because it's fun.

By putting these two characters together, I'm hoping to create a Batman/Superman dynamic with key tones of romance as well making it also similar to the Superman/Wonder Woman title. The trick will be creating stories which challenge both Dick and Kory, but I definitely want to draw on the Singular Universe to provide them a variety of foes and not just ones from the DC Universe.

Ω N O T E S:

B A S I C T I M E L I N E:
◼ 1990 | Tamaran is presnted with a new Princess in the form of Koriand'r.

◼ 1992 | The first day of spring is accompanied by the birth of Richard John Grayson.

◼ 2003 | Princess Koriand'r of Tamaran is marooned by herself on a harsh isolated world (Gowi). Tony Zucco murders John and Mary Grayson leading to Dick being adopted by the Bruce Wayne. Discovering that Bruce is in fact the Batman, Dick begs Bruce to train him so he can take his vengeance upon the man who killed his parents. Testing Dick by pointing him in the right direction after Zucco, Bruce agrees to fully train Dick after the boy refuses to kill Zucco stating he has to be brought to justice in the eyes of the law.

◼ 2004 | Undergoing the Batman's grueling training regiment, Dick is trained to be a hero in his own right taking the alias of Robin in memory of his mother. Robin's first major encounter with Gotham's madness takes the form of the Mad Hatter who is ultimately imprisoned by the Boy Wonder.

◼ 2005 | Seeking revenge upon escaping Arkham, the Mad Hatter manages to trick and trap Robin prompting Bruce to call in his new trainee, Barbara Gordon. Debuting as Batgirl, Dick finds himself immediately smitten with the older girl.

◼ 2009 | The Justice League is formed. In Batman's absence, Dick and Barbara grow closer leading to a relationship between the two young vigilantes.

◼ 2010 | Robin is sent to infiltrate the Young Justice Initiative by Batman, discovering a young alien girl by the name of Koriand'r who had recently crashed on Earth.

◼ 2011 | Leaving the Young Justice Initiative behind, Robin rescues Koriand'r, now known as Starfire and returns to the Justice League, joining their team of 'teen' Titans. Growing closer with Koriand'r causes friction between Dick and Barbara leading to their inevitable break up. Free to pursue Koriand'r, Dick and Kory grow close and the two begin a passionate relationship.

◼ 2012 | Growing frustrated with the tight leash that Batman had been keeping him on after the debut of the Joker along with his ever growing need to be independent, Dick retires his role as Robin and departs the Batcave. Choosing to stay on with the Titans, Dick continues to leave despite having lost his previous identity. This leads to a loss of self and eventually begins to compromise his ability to lead the Titans. During this time, Dick begins to also question his relationship with Kory and decides to break it off, the heart broken alien then departs both the team and Earth.

◼ 2013 | Taking a year off from the Titans, Dick decides to take a worldwide venture in the same vein that Bruce himself had. Rediscovering himself, Dick eventually takes on the new alias of Nightwing after hearing the story of the Kryptonian hero from a familiar friend. Returning to the Titans, Dick resumes his role of leader. During this time, he repairs his relationship with Barbara, the two becoming close friends and even resuming their relationship upon Dick's return to Gotham.

◼ 2015 | Deciding that it would be best to leave the Titans behind, Dick travels to the city of Bludhaven, taking it under his protection beginning a year long war against the city's ruling crime lord, Blockbuster. Choosing Bludhaven due to how easily the Joker had used the city to sneak under Bruce's nose, Dick realizes the city is even more in need of cleaning up than Gotham herself. During this time, Dick and Barbara's relationship becomes strained and the two agree to mutually break it off.

◼ 2015 | As word of Kory's return to Earth reaches Dick, he seeks out apologizing and admitting he was wrong to take his insecurities on not only her but also their relationship. Tangling with a familiar foe, the pair are quickly reminded of their chemistry and quickly find themselves resuming where they left off. Adopting the alias of Kory Anders, Koriand'r takes up residence in Dick's loft as the pair continue their relationship both in and out of costume.

◼ 2017 | Learning former Titan team mate, Raven has gone missing, Dick and Kory begin to investigate her disappearance.

Similar to my initial design three-to-four years ago in Singular Universe, Space Ghost follows the trend of the interpretation published recently by DC Comics where they “modernized” the noir-meets-pulp character. The man is question is Thaddeus Bach, a former member of an elite strike force and a detective from the futuristic terran utopia that is Eidolon IV.

In his origin story, Thaddeus Bach was betrayed by his comrades when he discovered that the group he had been recruited into wasn’t entirely as altruistic as they claimed and found himself left for dead on an outer rim planet with only a cryptic designation as one of the many “ghost” planets charted in the astrogation records. It is here that Bach discovers the technology that would shape and arm him to become Space Ghost. Thaddeus Bach frames himself as a “ghost” upon realizing that whatever ties to his life before have all been taken from him by his former comrades. His brand of justice twists into vengeance and ruthlessness, and after an internal struggle that results in this he leaves his homeworld and its source system to find greater meaning in the galaxy at large as a vigilante, justicar, and insurgent in his crusade to protect innocents wherever he can and by whatever means necessary. Bach swears that tragedy, suffering, and corruption will be his enemy going forward.

And thus the story begins.

Conceptually my first story with Space Ghost is to follow one of his early years dealing with politics— namely when he is hired to investigate a series of politically gray issues by the galaxy’s central political directorate, The Galactic Tribune.

Ω N O T E S:

The prospective story involves the Nova Corps, the Green Lanterns, the Galactic Tribune, the Tamaranean Empire, The Branx, The Gordanians, and various other marque cosmic/science fiction-related factions and races within the universe. I am open to collaborating with anyone choose they wish to.

I would likely need the go-ahead with the GM to incorporate this during Starfire’s “Year One” as well. But it should fall into the timeline without issue— it would take place in the past when Space Ghost was a little younger than his present form.

Originally I had planned on playing Victoria Vale in Gotham City Stories but nothing ever came of the project before the Holiday Season hit. I feel like Absolute Comics could be a good medium to approach her as a dynamic character in her own right. Truthfully, this all chalks up to me wanting to play someone more clever and without any of the gadgets or superpowers— though make no mistake my interpretation of Vicki is not a damsel or without ability to defend herself.

Victoria Vale is a resident of Gotham City who has been more gritty and ruthless with her investigative reporting— while Lois Lane is out there winning Pulitzer’s Vicki herself is in Gotham trying to make sense of everything while she juggles all forms of investigation. She wants to know the story behind the man she has coined “The Caped Crusader” after he dismantled Carmine Falcone seemingly overnight, she wants to make sure Gotham is represented by the uncorrupt, and wants to relentlessly get involved. Using her connections in the GCPD, City Council, and even the Red Hood Gang she wants to make it her life to save Gotham. In many ways she and Batman are parallels of one another, an irony that is not lost on her.

Conceptually there are variety of stories I could utilize with the red-haired reporter and given I’ve never written noir from this angle before it could be fun. I think I could have her first story be a reflection of her career— when she first encountered Batman, when she interviewed Carmine Falcone, her cooperation with the GCPD, her stance as an ally to Batman, and so forth. It’d be a detective pulp sort of retrospective.

Ω N O T E S:

The prospective story incorporates mentions of Batman and actual appearances of Katherine Webb (interpreted as a GCPD detective in this universe), Carmine Falcone, Harvey Dent, and other characters.

I would also be open to writing the character in guest spots with the Batman player.

I essentially want to tell heist/hard boiled crime stories within the confines of the universe. Parker is a perfect conduit for that, a travelling thief who can interact with many characters in the game. I know I have one story arc I'd like to do involving Gotham and Catwoman, another and the Flash rogues in Central City.

N O T E S:

I guess just so say that I'm going to be playing a lean character with a lean supporting cast so I'm open to interaction

And because I had to... a post sample, originally written as a Parker post before Guildfall:

THE FLASH

J A Y G A R R I C K 21st O C T O B E R 1902 M A L E H E R O

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

In this I really want to play on Jay Garrick being the original Flash. Spending some time in his Golden Years having his powers manifest shortly before WW2 and act as a member of the Justice Society of America (With any takers), having him really test the limits of his powers in the war. Then, I want to skip ahead and act out his transitional period post-war back into Keystone city. Civillian life was tough for a lot of war vets to readjust too, and Garrick will have to decide what he wants to do with his powers now that the war is over.

In a pinch from the comicverse he's going to be spurred on to become The Flash via his old comicbook hero from when he was a child. After an ark involving his old foe Savitar I'm going to skip ahead to his elder years where he's less active as a speedster. Where I'll play out an arc that will include a altered version of Barry Allens origin story. I'll release more on that when that time comes. After Barry Allen makes his debut, he's going to take the mentorship role but be slightly more proactive than he was initially in the comics. Wanting to make sure Barry is ready before he hands over the reigns, especially given what will have happened...

N O T E S:

Initial posting will take place Circa 1930, with Garrick gaining his powers. There'll be timeskips to different periods of his life, but I'll make sure to label them accordingly.

I really want to play out JSA type stuff, but I'll wait to see what other people want to do regarding the original JSA first.

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

This is a version of Batman that I started writing for the third Maximum Comics. Unfortunately I didn’t get very far, but with Absolute I now have an opportunity to finish the story I started to tell.

The main difference between this Batman and any other iteration is that after twelve years of activity in Gotham (our story begins in 2012), he’s still an urban legend as far as the world is concerned. The only ones aware of his existence are the G.C.P.D., Gotham’s “elite” criminal element, Bruce’s closest allies and the Justice League, for whom he’s served as an unofficial liaison of sorts, keeping his name out of it for the sake of protecting his mythical status.

The stories I want to tell test Bruce mentally and physically. The first arc deals with him being thrust into the public eye, destroying the element of mystery and fear that he’s relied on for so long. Beyond that, he’ll be confronted by fears of his own; by family, love, and questions of his purpose.

I just want to try and tell a good Batman story, really.

N O T E S:

B A S I C T I M E L I N E:

◼ 1974 | Bruce Wayne is born four years after his older brother, Thomas Wayne Jr.

◼ 1982 | Thomas Sr. and Martha Wayne are murdered in the place that would come to be called Crime Alley. Bruce and Thomas Jr. watch on in horror. The killer is never caught.

◼ 1988 | Bruce and Tommy Jr. embark on a worldwide trek, training for a time when they’ll avenge their parents’ deaths.

◼ 2000 | Bruce returns to Gotham City alone. Months later, whispers of a bat-like terror shakes the city’s criminal underworld as the Roman Empire sustains crippling blows.

Desperate to blame someone for his empire’s imminent fall, Carmine Falcone turns his anger on James Gordon, the one problematic cop not yet on his payroll. Hiring Ray Salinger, a serial killer known as Birthday Boy, Falcone has Gordon’s daughter, Barbara, kidnapped. Batman tracks her down and rescues her, delivering Barbara into the arms of a grateful ally.

The Roman Empire falls not long after.

◼ 2003 | After witnessing a trapeze act go horribly wrong at Haly’s Circus, Bruce cuts his date with Victoria Vale short in order to comfort a boy that is left an orphan. He adopts Richard Grayson soon afterwards.

◼ 2004 | Dick Grayson debuts as Robin.

Jim Gordon is kidnapped. As Bruce busies himself with finding his ally, his search is cut short by the activation of the Batsignal. Summoning him to the Central Precinct, he is met there by a fifteen year-old Barbara Gordon, her kidnapping – and rescue – still fresh on her mind. Armed with footage of the Dark Knight (no doubt from one of her father’s case files) she demands that Batman help her get Jim back, lest she release it to the media and thus expose him to the public. Disapproving of her blackmail, but admiring her tenacity, Bruce agrees to let her tag along, provided that she did everything he told her to. Barbara and Jim Gordon return home safely that night.

A few nights later, Batman agrees to train Barbara, impressed by her levelheadedness and tenacity.

◼ 2005 | Batgirl debuts, helping Bruce free Robin from the Mad Hatter.

◼ 2008 | Barbara hangs up the cowl, moving onto college. She and Dick resume their relationship despite this.

◼ 2009 | The Justice League is formed in response to A.R.G.U.S.'s Avengers. Batman acts as their liaison, keeping his involvement under wraps in order to protect his mythical status.

◼ 2011 | Gotham suffers a severe earthquake, damaging much of the city and killing thousands. Bruce starts the Wayne Foundation to provide for those who’ve been affected.

This tragedy is soon followed by another, starting with the kidnapping of three infants. Over the next few months, dozens more are taken from their homes. All evidence the G.C.P.D. uncovers point towards a human trafficking ring, with Harvey Bullock theorising that the babies are being sold to parents who think they were simply adopting. However, when investigating, Bruce uncovers evidence that doesn’t match Bullock’s hypothesis, and decides to follow the lead himself, keeping the police out of the loop.

His search for clues takes him all over Gotham, and all the while, more infants are being kidnapped; determined to find them before any harm can come to them, Bruce pushes himself harder than he ever has before, nights blending into days before he loses track of time completely. Eventually he finds the location of where the infants are being held, where he believes that they weren’t being sold off to families in the United States, but rather, overseas. What he believes to be good, legitimate detective work leads him to an abandoned warehouse in Gotham’s neighbouring city of Blüdhaven. Tipping Jim Gordon off to be ready at the scene, Batman goes inside.

What he sees would traumatise him for months – years – to come. A large pit, dug into the centre of the warehouse. Inside it, the dismembered bodies of all the kidnapped infants, of every baby taken over the last few months. And at the edge of the pit, the monster behind it all – a man dressed in purple, his skin bleached as white as a ghost, with a shock of green hair… and that smile. The grotesque, red-streaked smile as he laughed, cackling at Bruce’s horror.

The Joker, he calls himself. He’s been manipulating Batman the entire time, he says – he always had a feeling that he was real, he was simply too crazy a thing not to be – leaving clues and evidence that would point him here, to the warehouse in Blüdhaven, where the punchline awaits him, and oh, is it a good one.

Bruce doesn’t know how to take it. Rage, pure, unbridled rage, flows through him, the sudden hatred he feels for the Joker unmatched by any other, not even by the hatred he had for his parents’ killer, whoever he may be. But there’s also something else, something he had never felt before during his time as Batman, never induced by his own, natural reactions: fear. Bruce is afraid. And he takes that fear, and that hatred, and that rage, the anger he feels for all those innocent lives lost, those lives barely lived, and he let it all out, hitting the Joker harder than he’d ever let himself hit anyone, over and over, until Jim bursts into the warehouse and pulls him away. All the while, the sadistic, twisted clown cheers him on. The Joker's face would haunt Bruce's dreams ever since.

◼ 2012 | Frustrated with the tight leash Bruce keeps on him, coupled with the man’s refusal to deal with the psychological damage that plagues him in a healthy manner, Dick leaves Gotham and Robin behind.

◼ 2013 | Batman encounters a group of thugs attacking a young boy in the Narrows. Taking pity on him, Bruce takes him to the Batcave to patch him up. When the boy wakes up, Bruce discovers that he's been living on the streets by himself. Revealing his identity, the billionaire offers him a place to live. Jason Todd is adopted soon after.

In Maximum Comics, me and Jon (Green Grenade) had come to the brainstorming a period where Jason Todd fit in with the story he was going to tell and a few months later I’m still waiting to play out that story. Presuming Jon’s opinions have not changed I’d like to pick up the cowl and play Jason Todd during his debut Robin year and his first “big” case with Batman. His street knowledge, guile, and dirty fighting would be an asset to the story and I still want to play a loud-mouthed arrogant punk. I’d like to get the chance to write it.

Presuming me and Jon go through the story I’d also like to forge out ideas of what Jason Todd became of in this universe— how did he become the Red Hood?, did the Joker kill him like in accepted canon or did that never happen?, and so forth.

In Absolute Comics, Jason could become something very interesting if you would allow it. I know I already applied for two arcs; but I assure you this based on my pride and honor that this Jason will still be active as much like Vicki Vale he will be part of the ongoing Batman arc from the onset. This isn’t overextension.

Ω N O T E S:

Characters I intend to utilize prospectively with Jason’s interactions in The Narrows include Dallas & the Street Demonz, Yvette Brawner, Bette Kane, Margaret Sorrow, and possibly others to be discussed with the Batman player since most of his non-Batman oriented interactions will be at Brentwood Academy as Jason Todd or in The Narrows as Robin.

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

Similar to the Jay Garrick Story. I want to incorporate what I feel to be the best parts of the Barry Allen story and background, in order to create a fun and fulfilling story. His origin I am purposefully going to leave blank, however in the next section I will detail some of the villains he has already faced. So for anyone who doesn't want potential spoilers on the Jay Garrick story don't read it. The main reason I want to do this is I love the character, and I like the idea of writing two Flashes concurrently and showing the difference between the two. While Jay and Barry have their similarities they are also very much their own entities, this Barry Allen will be the Flash after Jay has died (in events I won't mention) and a member of the Justice League. What I'm looking forward to most is the Jay Garrick and Barry Allen interaction, in Barrys past and Jays future. I just feel it's a unique way to write and I'm super interested to write it in that way.

In terms of Rogues, it'll be more or less his standard. Other than his origin the main thing I will be doing with Flash is incorporating the Marvel Universe into his mythos. Rather than a complete retelling.

As I see it being Iron Man is something that Tony gets. It's a fairly simple job all things considered you punch, shoot, blow up, or otherwise incapacitate the bad guys. Then you smile for the cameras, get the key to the city, and call it a day. What Tony Stark doesn't get is being a functional human being. And so thus begins the tale that I would like to tell simply entitled STARK VERSUS LIFE. It's a little different with less of the focus being on his actions as Iron Man, and more on him trying to get the rest of his shit together. He's almost fifty and the longest he's ever been able to hold a relationship is about two weeks. He is still a raging alcoholic despite several attempts to go clean. Not to mention whenever he wants to retire from the whole super hero business somebody blows his house up. In the end it's a superhero story or at least a story about a superhero, but one told through the lens of Bukowski or Lowry.

N O T E S:

Tony was an original member of the Avengers underneath A.R.G.U.S. But is now something of a 'reserve member' more on his own wishes than anything else. He does offer his services though as a 'consultant' of sorts to the various superhero groups of the world providing logistical assistance.

The Amazing Spider-Man

"Who would have thought that a radioactive spider could give a boy superpowers?"

Peter Benjamin Parker 1991 (25) Male Hero

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

One concept that I've been wanting to do in one of these games is the Silver/Bronze Age Insect Queen. However, I'm not familiar enough with Superman and Lana Lang to do them any justice (no pun intended). Therefore, since this game combines the lore of Marvel and DC (along with some others), I thought I could give the ring to someone else because it is not an essential part of Superman's lore. Since in the Amalgam comics MJ was given this role (I don't plan on using Amalgam beyond justification for why MJ would have the ring), I believe using Spider-Man would be a better fit (at least for me as a writer). I would also use the current "Renew Your Vows" comics as an influence, since part of the arc will be dealing with Peter having a superpowered spouse.

A basic outline of the beginning of the arc would be as followed: Peter and MJ would be attending a grand opening at a local arts museum that would be featuring the ring (although the general public would not know that it actually grants powers). A robbery would be staged by an unknown foreign entity (or at least unknown to the characters). These robbers would take the valuables from the attendees in order to mask their true intentions to snatch the Egyptian ring. Now, it is up to Peter to stop these thieves.

N O T E S:

I am going to keep Spider-Man's history pretty vanilla so that if someone else wants to pick up the character, then they can do so without much problem.

Bio-Genetic Ring: A magical, ancient Egyptian ring that the wizard, Shazam, forged for the Pharaoh, Ramesses II. Besides granting superhuman strength and endurance, this magical ring allows the user to control arthropods and transform him or herself into a human-anthropod hybrid.

Bialya: A Middle-Eastern country located on the Eastern coast of the Mediterranean. This nation was forged out of the ashes of the Syrian Civil War by an individual only known as Queen Bee. Although the Bialyan people have elected a democractic government, it only has de iure power and the Queen Bee actually has the de facto control over the country.

THE KINGPIN

"Men like us, we serve a very valuable role for this city. The reluctant rulers. The benevolent "bad guys.""
WILSON GRANT FISK JANUARY 21, 1984 (33) MALE LAWFUL EVIL

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

There are many types of characters that is fun to play and/or write, and one of my favourites is the character vying for control - whether it's over people, resources, themselves or the elements. Wilson Fisk is one of those, and on top of that he has in later years been canonically developed in an interesting way. Rather than just a simple (if a 400 lbs criminal genius can ever be called "simple") villain, Fisk is a conflicted character with added depth. This is the route I'll be taking as well. After all, if it's "just another villain", they might as well be left an NPC.

In this story, Wilson Fisk is a still relatively young man who is just now hitting their stride in the underworld of New York. Fisk cares much about the city of New York and is very displeased with what he thinks the criminal element has done to the city. He wants to take control of said element, with the intent to dismantle it. His own criminal organization has developed considerably the past few years, and Fisk is now looking to challenge his peers in the top of New York's food chain, as well as further engage himself in both legal businesses and politics. He has yet to meet Vanessa (time will tell whether he will or won't), and his run-ins with superheroes and their ilk have as of yet been few.

The first story arc serves as a prologue of sorts, will be set a few years ago (2015/16) and deal with Fisks war against the ruling criminal entity of New York - the Maggia - and the acquiring of the moniker Fisk will commonly be known by thereafter - Kingpin.

N O T E S:

I was hesitant when picking alignments. While I ultimately picked Lawful Evil, I would like to note that the Kingpin would categorize himself as Lawful Neutral, and perhaps he should. This is a man who doesn't consider himself the bad guy, but is well aware that that is how he is perceived by others. He doesn't harbor ill will towards others and takes no pleasure in "evil" acts, yet does what he considers necessary. Wilson Fisk is very utilitaristic - all is for the greater good, and lives are worthless in the grand scheme of things.

As for other characters, the only one of note I've so far planned to include in the first arc is Bullseye, serving as a hitman for Fisk and to be employed against, primarily, the Maggia.

My Constantine is a highly-edited mash-up of the three canon interpretations that currently exist; a mix of his early days in DC Vertigo's Hellblazer, his later appearances in the DCU alongside more commonly known heroes like Superman and Batman, and his newest incarnation in DC's New52. Several events are yet to happen to Constantine, if indeed they happen at all, and others have been removed entirely to allow a more streamlined, intuitive history. My Constantine is younger, brasher, bolder, but still tormented and scarred, with some aspects edited and shaken up to allow him personal quirks that will serve to truly mark him as my own interpretation of his character. Hopefully, he is one that will enter the AbsoluteComics universe a better fit, and one that will not appear jarring alongside the capes and costumes of other characters.

N O T E S:

T I M E L I N E :
♦ 1990 | John Constantine is born in Liverpool. His mother (Mary-Anne) dies. His father (Thomas) blames him. His sister (Cheryl) is left to raise him. Life is shit.

♦ 2001 | Thomas Constantine is sent to jail for burglary and petty voyeurism. Cheryl and John are sent to stay with family in Northampton. John discovers he is the next in the line of 'Laughing Magicians'. John begins to practice magic. Life is bearable.

♦ 2010 | John and his friends start up a punk band called 'Mucous Membrane' and find small success. After a gig in Newcastle, John stumbles upon a horrific carnage - Astra, an abused child, had unconsciously used latent magical power to summon a monster to slaughter her oppressors. John convinces his friends to help him summon their own demon to slay said monster; they succeed at the summon, but fail at the bind, and the demon Nergal slays the monster and takes Astra's powerful soul to his kingdom in Hell. John's friends are scarred for life, and John himself is committed to Ravenscar Psychiatric Hospital. Life is shit.

♦ 2015 | John is released from Ravenscar and moves to the US after a failed reconciliation with Cheryl. He develops a bad smoking habit along with some hard drinking, but does strike up a charming friendship with a chicago cabbie called Chas. John starts up a freelance investigation office, as well as occult business on the side, and tries to make his way in the world. Life is bearable.

♦ 2016 | John has been having bad dreams.

The Spectre

Frank Castle 11/12/1950 (67) Male Neutral Good

I want to tell a multi-decade story of the Punisher, Vietnam, and the present that explores themes of evil, the cost of doing the right thing, and what happens when someone like Frank Castle has the powers of the Spectre.

Shazam

"Say something, geezer. I dare ya."
"Suit yourself. SHAZAM!"
William Joseph "Billy" Batson 3.20.1929 (87) Male Lawful Good

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

I want to explore the concept of a magical hero adapting to a new age. Shazam is a great fit for that role, because his powers allow him to halt aging while trasnformed, effectively adding that time to his overall lifespan. I really like the idea of the young naive, innocent Billy being given the powers of Shazam, and then being baptised in the horrors of World War 2 along with the members of the All-Star Squadron.

I really want to advance the character in such a way that he's tragically trying to hold on to his childhood innocence in a world that's growing progressively more detached and dark. Not to mention trying to fumble his way around technology.
N O T E S:

Of particular interest to me is World War II, and Billy's child-mind coping with the use of his powers in such a conflict, so most of my writing will likely be earlier stuff on the timeline. That said, I do really look forward to getting up to some modern day shenanigans as old man Shazam. I think the most potential for interaction would be with other older heroes, like Flash and Ghost Rider.

Also of note, if you haven't gathered yet, this incarnation of the Big Cheese is an older guy, though he looks pretty good for his age, thanks to not aging whilst transformed, he is still recognizably past his prime, and the transformation actually visually restores his youth now, as opposed to aging him. I'm considering exploring a sort of addiction to this effect, but I'm not sure if I wanna' take him down a road like that.

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

I want to play Ivy, because I'm interested in playing a character who works exclusively on their own terms; for a cause that they genuinely believe is righteous, as twisted as it might be. I am playing Ivy primarily as an eco-terrorist, who devotes the bulk of her efforts towards protecting plant life. Unfortunately, her methods are extreme; since she views humans as lesser then plants, she does not think twice about executing people she deems a threat to plantlife. This will earn her an unfavourable reputation with local crimefighters.

At some point in the game, I would like to head back in time and explore Ivy's origin story, as I feel it would be interesting to play out the metamorphosis from meek environmental activist to ruthless and super-powered terrorist. However, it is my plan to begin the story later than this, with Ivy already established as a known villain. In the event that a common threat or 'big bad' arises, I am interested in having Ivy align herself with more virtuous and heroic characters, in order to achieve their common goal. I would like to play out a storyline similar to Jinx from Teen Titans, whereby her alignment is vague but her goals always clear: Ivy cares only about protecting plantkind, at whatever cost.

I will be playing the more explicitly super-powered depiction of Ivy, who can manipulate plant life with her mind. This is in conjunction with her 'standard' abilities pertaining to toxins, pheromones and spores. I think it will be interesting to have this version of Poison Ivy go up against heroes from across the board, as we are so used to seeing her alongside the same familiar faces.

N O T E S:

♦ The initial arc takes place in the present day (2017).

♦ As her origin story will be explored later on, she does not necessarily need to be associated with Batman & co. I am open to establishing her backstory and rivalries with any of the featured characters.

♦ Weaknesses include the cold, lack of sunlight, fire etc - if it's bad for a plant, it's bad for her.

"Hold my beer, I've got to make this shot."
Roy Harper 19/1 1991 (26) M A L E NEUTRAL GOOD

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

The idea is to play a Roy who, for the most part, is identical to that of the Canon one, at least by the start of the New 52. A depressed alcoholic who's aiming to take his own life, yet not able to do it himself. He searches out danger, throwing himself into dangerous situations, in the hopes of doing one last bit of good before he gets killed.
The character will be dragged out of this path by his long time, and closest friend, Dick Grayson. As the latter approaches him with a mission that requires his skills. The idea is to write how Roy fights against his vices, how he deals with constantly being the underdog, and how he'll keep himself above water in his lifelong fight against depression.

N O T E S:

I'll workout a Timeline sometime soon, but I'll jot down a couple of things that are on my mind for him so far.

Born from Native American ancestory, was raised by Natives for his first eight years, his mom then moved with him to Star City. His mother was a long time alcoholic and heroine addict, having more step fathers than Roy could ever remember, each of them a bigger bastard than the last.

He took to some petty crime, but always felt like there was more to life than stealing pocket change from people, soon, he began picking fights with the actual criminals, as a teenager he was protecting people. Upon the emergence of the Green Arrow, it inspired Roy, and he, like the Vigilante, began using a bow and arrow, like he had been taught in his childhood.

The Green Arrow would eventually take him in and make him his protégé, his sidekick, his partner. Oliver dubbed him Speedy, and as a 15 year old, he was patrolling the streets of Star City.

He joined the Teen Titans in his late teens, where he became good friends with Dick Grayson, Starfire, Raven and the rest, but when the team eventually went their own ways, he took the streets of Star City again, this time under the guise of Red Arrow. The years of being a vigilante began tearing at him. When he was 20 years old, his mother died from an overdose, supplied by her fourth husband. Upon learning this, Roy broke into the man's house on the night of his mother's funeral and beat him to death in a fit of uncontrollable rage.

He continued as The Red Arrow for another couple of months, while turning to the bottle like his mother had before him, he eventually retired when he couldn't shoot his bow anymore. Going further down into his misery, he traveled the world, performing odd jobs where he could to get enough money to buy another bottle and a warm bed.

Now, in 2017, he's tired of living, life's not for him and armed with cynical wit, an unhealthy dose of apathy and sarcastic outlook on life, he's putting his foot forward to try and put some good into the world as his final act before he leaves it for good.
