As long as you don't let anyone know it's made from the blood of one person and the saliva of another.

I usually decide based on which person hasn't posted in the longest, that way if a GM or someone is quickly scrolling through to see who's been active lately, they'll see that that person is in fact still around just by looking at the avatar instead of having to read the post to see who's in it.

We both have been active fairly equally. Me more in the OOC and he more in the IC. At least recently.

I usually go by IC posts. Anyway, that's just how I do it. I doubt it really matters who posts it.

Don't think it has.

Ooh, I could write something about Oswald unlocking his Semblance! A horrific, terrible battle, where his timely intervention saved his dear friend's life from the greatest threat to children in history: wooden swords!

The scenario I have in my head is fucking adorable.

Go for it. I think it'll be fun to write more specific events from Robert's childhood.

So, I think I got Blaire's, Skyra's twin sister's, semblance. Primal fear. More or less.
Basically an illusion with mental changes to her targets, which makes her look incredibly scary, with black aura and glowing red eyes, all of which affects her targets' (reptile) brains to pretty much slow their reaction times, make their bodies react to a laming fear that, in theory, doesn't exist, and, for weaker minds, even freeze them entirely, like when you dream of seeing a ghost or something and you can't move or speak properly, other than senseless babbling.
Too powerful?
Not creative enough?
Thoughts?

@PyroDash888 It's cool! Thing about fear is that it doesn't work on literally everything though (ie. Grimm, robots, or people that can't feel fear), so that could be an unmentioned weakness to it. Still a unique semblance. o-o

Why the illusory black aura and red eyes? Does a cloud of darkness manifest around her or something?

So the aim is to induce fear in a foe, correct? Is this something that applies directly, or is it something that arises from the illusion that the semblance manifests? If the former, having the illusion seems redundant, and also disconnected from the power itself - even though they're traits of Grimm, they wouldn't be scary to everyone and would only seem unfitting. If the latter, why red eyes and the black aura? Is it sight-based? If somebody were to look away or close their eyes, would it work? How does the illusion create fear in others? Why would it? What if someone really loves black and red? How would it be different from directly affecting someone's mind, or forcing them to hallucinate their greatest fears?

That's a lot of questions O.O

Well, let's get to answering them:

The illusion is basically a "visual indicator" of the semblance being active and yes, it is sight based, but you can't just turn away once you see it being activated. Once you get a glimpse of it, you are pretty much locked into staring at it. It doesn't last long, though, just a couple of seconds, like 10-15 seconds, but it is enough to at least temporarily stun opponents, when they are of a particularly strong mind.
The illusion is not the actual "scary thing". You get scared, no matter how un-scary such an illusion is to you. The illusion instills the feeling of primal fear in you. It doesn't matter if you like black and red or that you technically think that it isn't scary, your brain will still think that it is scary. (Which will create an interesting conflict in your mind... O.O You personally don't think what you are seeing is scary, but your body reacts as if it was scared for its life)

The obvious weaknesses that go with it are that Grimm and Robots are pretty much immune to it, as Nyanya-chan has already pointed out. And if you know when Blaire is about to "cast" her semblance, you can close your eyes and avoid it, but if you are just a single millisecond to late and catch a glimpse of the illusion, your eyes are going to be forced open and focused on the illusion for the duration of the semblance.

I think, you could also use the semblance to basically control somebody, aka hypnosis, but you have to be especially weak-minded.

@PyroDash888 I think 10-15 seconds is overkill considering that's enough time to get someone obliterated without much chances of counterplay going on with Hunters/Huntresses around her level (Bayonetta in Smash Bros, for example, can freeze people for 2-3 seconds, which is enough to instakill anyone close to a ledge in real-time). My suggestion is to make the it scale based on who exactly sees it. (ie. some can't focus for several seconds, veteran fighters can recover within a short timespan, and people who literally can't feel fear recovers quickly). We have to keep in mind that Blaire has her own weapons to go WITH the game Semblance so that kind of Semblance needs some form of clear weaknesses to the people it works on.

She may be a side character but I just kinda want to give enough feedback to make her feel like a solid character on her own with those kinds of details!
