Whoa, fuck.
It's here again.
It's here again.
@AtomicNut: Thinking on it I'd like to know what spiritual wounds actually do in this case.
Hmmm.
I'm not sure bleeding mana entirely works with how mana functions in-setting, though the other stuff works well enough.
That's also a bit of a weird area because of how the soul works. ^^;
You could say something like they lose stamina through the wound until it's cleansed and healed.
@Queen Tomato: Okay, have to be honest, this idea doesn't work out much. A walking skeleton would be undead, which requires necromancy and a lot of other more complicated stuff.
Alternatively a possessed skeleton or something like that.
@Queen Tomato: Something that is a skeleton would be a spirit possessing a skeleton or undead.
Youkai(basically any type you could possibly give a human appearance, think Touhou maybe if you're familiar with it?) are totally playable. It's just that with skeletons and stuff the in-setting lore is that it's a formless spirit using that kind of body or an undead of some form. I apologize for not having more information on that yet actually posted.
I'll admit this is a personal thing of not feeling like a skeleton "Race" really fits for the setting. ^^;
I love Touhou and have a very hard time arranging my favorite characters, eh-heh.
Anyway, um... it really is a matter of... Hmm. The only real "skeleton youkai" that I feel works in the setting is a Gashadokuro, which is... way too big and monstrous for this and is also the physical manifestation of the spirits of people who died from starvation as I recall. ^^;
@Queen Tomato: Hmmm.
Unfortunately my ideas for Gashadokuro in-setting are more "horrible nightmare" then playable character. ^^;
However, you've been very cooperative and reasonable and I'm very eager to try and help you figure something out, so feel free to ask any questions you like.
