~RISA~

"....Fuck...."

"Well good morning to you too..."

Risa slowly opens her eyes as she stirs herself out of slumber... from the floor...

"Why the hell didn't you wake me up when I fell off the bed?"

She grumbled at her current position, splayed across the floor of her bedroom with one arm and one leg up the side of the bed...

"Well you didn't fall of the bed, so much as you missed the bed when you collapsed for a sleep last night, or should I say, early morning..."

"Well why the hell didn't you wake me up still?"

"Do you really honestly think I could have possibly woken you up when you were drunk out of your mind and in dreamland before you even hit the ground? Besides you probably still had a fit of rage when you get woken up..."

To that Risa just grumbled as it was a distinct possibility with her state of mind and alcohol laden body a few hours ago.

"Ughh... Light me up!"

"Really?"

"Yes... really!"

"Ugh... Ignite Heart..."

And Risa plops down again on the ground in the same position with a bit of magenta light hanging about the room... A quick blur about on her torso and her usual magical garb is replaced by her regular clothes... And at the same time a secondary split appears in the room and took one long look at Risa...

"The fuck happened to you?"

Lisa says as she takes in the sight before her...

"I think she's got a hangover..."

"Oh... is that why I just got despawned all of a sudden last night?"

"Yeah, she got dumped by that Ripper girl..."

"Does it even count as dumping when they never even started?"]

"False start then... I was honestly actually surprised that the storekeep allowed her to have booze... Though it turns out he knows her"

"You two realize I'm still here right?"

"Yes we do, which makes this all the more entertaining"

"... Would you just help me up, I want to walk off this shitty feelin in me"

At that Lisa helped up Risa onto her feet and both walked towards the bathroom... And after a few minutes... Well half an hour of things that would be normal for anyone, like bathing, freshening up and general hygiene... They came back out to a waiting Marza...

"So... does that count as incest? or selfcest..."

The fairy asked with a half smirk on her face...

"I don't bloody know..."

Risa replied as Lisa had a grimace on her face...

"Right so what's the plan for the day?"

"Lisa... how's the fridge lookin?"

Risa asks as Lisa checks the Kelvinator fridge...

"Well it still works but it's on its last legs to put it..."

"Well... That's a plan... get a new fridge and..."

Risa goes to check up on what's inside the fridge...

"And maybe fill it up as well..."

And at that the trio began this day's quest... Get a new fridge and fill it up...

"So this is Fridge logic..."

"That's way too literal..."

Akane had wandered somewhat aimlessly for a while. She didn't have any specific goals in mind aside from 'hope I meet the girls from last night', and so her attempts to find anything were rather useless at best. And her fairy had chimed in a few times, asking just what she was doing wandering about like this. Akane had hushed her as to avoid too many people wondering why her bag was talking and found herself more or less unable to answer particularly directly. So instead she simply claimed she was just shopping. After all that wasn't... entirely inaccurate! She was shopping, just with no particular goal in mind and a lack of actually entering shops to peruse their wares!

After a few moments of this, Akane decided to check her phone. Maybe there'd be something on there that could help her meet up with one of the magical girls from last night...

Kuroe the Writer was saying she did a good job?! A flush entered the redhead's cheeks and her heart beat faster in her chest. For a moment, memories of Saori's words had been pushed from her mind just by the fact that one of her fellow magical girls had actually posted a message saying she did a good job, to keep it up. It was like a dream come true! It was like-

It was like walking directly into someone without even realizing they were there and collapsing onto your backside.

After a few moments, Akane realized what she had done(and hoped no-one had hear the fairy in her bag go 'uwah!')

"A-ah, s-sorry! Sorry!" she apologized hastily as she tried to get up quickly, so she could help if they'd dropped anything.

Shizuri had been walking whilst looking down at her phone, hoping for a response from the dragon girl, whatever her name was. Looking at her phone was also a good way to distract her from the people around her and discourage them from interacting with her. Unless someone else is doing the same thing...

And suddenly Shizuri was on the ground with people looking at her and someone apologizing. She scrambled for her phone, picking it up and clutching it to her chest.

"I- I'm fine. I'm fine. I have to go."

She straightened her glasses and looked around, trying to spot an escape. Shizuri stood up slightly slower than Akane and spotted a magazine shop a short distance away. She turned past the other girl and started in that direction. Maybe she could find one of Kuroes latest interviews.

"She appears to be in quite a hurry."

The remark originated not too far from where Akane had fallen. If she were to cast her gaze in the direction of the voice, she would be exposed to the sight of Katsura Hyoukyo, class representative of East Umitori High's Class 3-G, watching the fleeing form of Shizuri with bemused indigo eyes. A plastic bag, lightly rumpled, hung from her slender right arm, the large quantity of red apples contained within pulling down as gravity demanded. From the presence of those fresh fruits, it would not be remiss in concluding that the teenaged girl had only recently made a purchase from a nearby store.

"Were you hurt by that?" she asked almost suddenly, turning her entire body to face the girl who had fallen mere moments before. Her cool, contemplating gaze swept across Akane, and the slightest signs of recognition immediately flickered across her face. The face of the girl, it seemed, was unmistakeable to her in some manner. "And I apologise if my assumption is too forward, but you attend East Umitori High ... as a first year, or am I mistaken?"

"Ha~tschooeee"

"Gesundheit"

"Marza... ye arse... Now look what's happened..."

"Oh I see, you catching a cold is suddenly my fault... Blame your terrible lifestyle and unhealthy habits for that..."

"I wouldn't have caught a cold if you didn't let me sleep on the damn floor..."

"You maybe a good shot with a gun or a cannon or a bow, but by the gods you're dreadfully inaccurate with bed targeting..."

"Look that's only because I was drunk..."

"Yes and it's still entirely your fault at being incapable of holding your alcohol..."

"Ha~tschooeee"

"Gesundheit... Look why don't we have some breakfast..."

"Aye... I'm up for that... And I know what I'd want for breakfast..."

A walk spiced up with occasional banter later the girls arrived at Tetsuo's Doner place... Situated in a very advantageous position in the shopping district to serve shoppers and passersby with delicious kebabs...

"Right... Lisa, you go in there and get us some doners to go..."

"What ya ain't coming?"

"Course not, I'd rather not risk my illness ruining good food... Nor would I like to spread the damn bug to everyone in there..."

"Good point... Marza..."

Before Lisa could ask, the fairy was already by the door to the shop...

"I'd take that as you're coming..."

"Yes you should..."

Inside the shop, eatery place. There were a few customers, some of which spared a few glances at Lisa and the fairy that was with her. Though nobody showed any sign of surprise more than a double take... It's no secret that The Major frequents this place...

"Three of the beef regulars and hot sauce on two of em please... Oh and that's to go..."

"Doner for an early lunch coming up for Risa, though two? I can appreciate the business but aren't you at least a bit concerned about gaining weight?"

Tetsuo said as he worked his quick and practiced hands on the slab of beef with a knife...

"Not two, one, and nice try but I'm not Risa..."

At that Tetsuo took a look over Lisa's shoulder to outside the shop, sure enough an identically dressed girl was standing outside, with a small crowd now...

"Hmm, So does that mean I'm technically serving the Major right now?"

He asks as he presents the food, all wrapped up in paper to Lisa...

"Something like that, though 'serve' is hardly a word to use... You're just... uhh provisioning us with breakfast..."

"Hmm, She woke up late again?"

"Yes she did, coz she's sort of got a cold right now..."

"Oh... well tell her to get well soon..."

"Will do... Thanks again Tetsuo..."

"Happy to be of help..."

At that Lisa with Marza in tow made for the door... However in we must wind back to after Lisa and Marza entered Tetsuo's doner place and shift our attention to The Major herself... And we're not the only ones shifting our attention to her because she's also piqued the interest of a handful of people who have recognized her... Two boys and a girl, are currently gawking at her and for a while now as well...

"You know you three should take a picture... It'd last longer..."

"Uhh, can we? Are you sure?"

One of the boys asked hesitantly...

"I just told you so, go on take one, I'd even pose"

"Uhh, okay..."

At that the three took out their phones and prepared to take pictures... To which Risa struck her pose, left hand on her hip and her right arm straight forward, pointing at the cameras with a light smile on her features, feet planted on a stable position below her... Twelve clicks of phone cameras later...

"Say uhh... Major..."

The girl started but Risa put her finger up in a silencing motion...

"Please call me Risa... I'm not working today..."

"Oh... Is that why you're not in your, Magical girl attire?"

The girl continued...

"Yes, and more to the point, I'd like to get on without bothering people by being a magical girl walking bout the place... Though evidently it wasn't enough since I still got you three to waste time on me..."

"...Sorry... We were..."

Before they could start apologizing Risa silenced them again...

"Relax, it's fine..."

"Really?"

"Yes really..."

"Well, thanks for your time"

"Yeah, you too..."

The three bowed and thanked her before going their way... At which point the provisions team of Lisa and Marza came back out of the shop clearly witnessing the tail end of the encounter...

"What was that about? they wanted your autograph or something..."

Asked Marza as she tried her best to nibble on her share of the food....

"No they were too preoccupied gawking at me... so I made them take pictures instead..."

""Made them"? The hell does that mean?"

Asked Lisa a bit incredulous...

"Means just that, pictures will last longer, so I got them to take pictures of me instead..."

"Right... Well what next?"

Asked Lisa, as she hands one of the kebabs to Risa...

"We're gonna get the fridge when we're about to go home... for now I'd like to browse things..."

"You mean window shopping?"

Said Marza...

"Well if I see something I like, or need and have the funds for it, then I'd buy it... So... well I'll let you take a pick on where to browse then Marza..."

Marza looked about for a few moments before her eyes settled over a magazine store... This Risa noticed...

"Seriously?"

"Yes... seriously..."

"Well okay then, We'd go take a look..."

And with that the three crossed the street and entered said magazine shop...

In the humble abode of the Nakajimas, there was an unspoken of, long-standing tradition of Sunday being treated with a old-school and distinctly western sensibility. Even despite his own nonreligious stance, Kyotaro Nakajima was still one to respect the day of rest for what it was.

"MESSATSU!"

"Oh, that's a load of crap."

The perfect time for having a day off work and playing some good quality video games, of course!

"Oya?" came the smug, prodding drawl from the blonde seated beside him. "Oya Oya Oya? Do I see it all tied up at 2-2? Where's all the bravado now, Aniki? Are you possibly in danger of losing a set to me?!"

"I'm rusty." growled her legal guardian, responding to her elbow jabs with an increasingly intense glare every time. Uppity little... "'s just dumb luck and work's been taking all of my practice time."

Did we say glare? Correction:

I don't understand how a fully grown adult can pout so petulantly at a video game.

It's a competitive thing! It's just like whenever I get mad about getting passed up in a race!

Well firstly, you're still a child--

I am NOT a kid!

Yes you are.

"Oho? What was that? Shouldn't you be watching your sodium intake instead of talking, Aniki?!"

"I'm not salty because you Raging Demoned me."

"I don't believe you~"

Even ignoring your legal status as a minor, would an adult rub salt in the wound like this?

Heh, salt. And yeah, they totally would. Watch if he wins, he'll totally reverse it back on me like threefold.

Which goes back to my original point, doesn't it?

Shh, I need to concentrate!

However, instead of concentration, a thought occurred.

"Hey, speaking of salt, though."

"Yeah?"

"Have you gone shopping this week?"

"I though you did that?"

"That was just to grab dinner, not to stock up..."

Both paused.

...

"Craaaaaaaaaaaap."

Fifteen minutes later, one energetic girl and her fairy companion were out the door, fighting games forgotten in favor of the search for sustenance.

"A-ah?"

The girl was already hurrying away... ah, she hadn't been paying attention to where she was going, had she? And she'd bumped int othat girl and really kind of messed up... Akane sagged visibly. She had to watch where she was going more often... that girl seemed pretty upset about it so she really had messed up.

"I-I'm sorry!" she called again, trying to wave to the other girl. But as she attempted her long-ranged apology, another girl approached... one who seemed vaguely familiar to her somehow.

"U-um, no, I'm fine, I... I just wasn't watching where I was going..." Akane responded, trailing off, when asked if she was hurt. She wasn't, she hadn't hit the other girl or the ground particularly hard. In her bag, Melody had thankfully kept quiet since she got up.

"Ah? East Umitori? Um, yes, er... why do you ask...?" the redhead added, looking between both the girl who had approached her and the girl who was retreating. She hoped her apology had at least made things a little better...

"Your face is a familiar sight around the campus," replied the indigo-haired third-year simply with a quiet smile, before a thought seemed to come to her. "Ah, apologies - I am Katsura Hyoukyo of class 3-G. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Now that she had established that the shy-seeming redhead before her was indeed an underclassman of hers, it would be remiss not to introduce herself as well. While she was not too strongly involved with the lower year levels, it was still a duty of those in the higher grades to provide support to their younger brethren if the need were to arise. Her chance to do so for this girl, however, had been removed due to the rapid rectification of the issue involved, but nonetheless, a greeting was still something that she felt was necessary to provide.

Hana managed to get outside without encountering her creep of a brother. Hana was starting to feel constricted. She was so happy with that monster out of her life, and now he was trying to worm his way back into it. What did he expect to happen?

Hana flipped open her phone. With an exception to her parents, there was only one other name in there: Himeko. Hana didn't directly remember exchanging phone numbers with her, but that didn't matter now. The thoughts of her brother were being pushed out of her head when she saw her name. It reminded her of all the good food she ate yesterday, as well as that exiting encounter with the magical girls. Though there would be plenty of time to catch up with Himeko during the infirmary thing tomorrow at school, Hana needed to talk to someone now. She hit auto dial and lifted the phone to her ear.

“Hello, it's Hana. Are you busy?” Hana nodded while listening to Himeko's response. “Yes well, I was wondering if you were free to hang around and chat. I had an interesting encounter yesterday, I'll tell you about it if you meet me at the library. I'll see you then!” Hana had completely forgotten about what made her so upset. She was smiling. It felt so strange to be this way.

...

The local library was a quiet place. Very little of the reading material interested Hana, but nobody really came to the library to do much more than drop off books on Sunday. Because of this, very few people hung around, and you could talk about almost anything in private. The technophile was passing the time in an isle reading book titles. The overhead florescent lighting was rather poor, and wasn't nearly as bright as the sunbeams coming in from a nearby window.

"Lord have mercy, what kind of library doesn't even have the entire Shar Spire series, I don't even." Himeko was greeted to not just Hana but an extra strong wiff of unknown fumes. "My god! What the heck is that smell?" Exclaimed Himeko as she pinched her nose, dropping a book in disgust.

Hana lifted up her arm and sniffed under it. “I-I ran out of aluminum free antiperspirant!” She grit her teeth. Hana was pretty sure she still smelled a little bit like that slimy tentacle monster. “Anyway, I think you're being a little dramatic.” Hana pinned her elbows at her sides.

"Don't worry, I'm sure I'll adjust... So what's this 'interesting encounter'? It better not be something stupid like a cat chasing a dog."

“Well, it's not entirely unlike that.” Hana turned to face Himiko with a smile “I encountered some magical girls fighting a creature yesterday.”

"Oh. My. Glob." Himeko's jaw was about to drop. She shook her head and drew her usual smug expression. "But wait Hana, I thought you weren't interested in Magical Girls. How'd you suddenly just find some?"

“Well...” Hana scratched the back of her head. “It's a lot different seeing them in person I guess. And...” Hana was avoiding making eye contact with Himeko. “M-maybe the monster was going to eat me, and one of them saved me.” She closed her eyes. “It was even a tentacle monster! And people were recording the whole thing on their phones! It was so embarrassing but...” Her eyes opened up again. “It makes you realize that regardless of what resides in a magical girl's heart, it still takes a lot of bravery to fight something like that.” Hana stood up a little straighter. “Even with all that power, you're still pitting yourself against monsters, making it and all of it's victims your responsibility. Not just anyone can become a magical girl.”

Himeko shook her head. her eyes squinting in disbeleif. "Nooo way! I can't beleive you actually got involved with them! But don't worry, you might get famous now." Her smug expression returned.
"Heh, I told you Hana! Magical Girls are the best things out. Some better than others." Himeko then whispered under her breath "Specifically one better than the rest" Himeko chuckled to herself. "I'm glad you joined the rest of the world in their love of magical girls."

Hana let out a small, noticeable groan. “Well, I'm not sure love is the right word...” She turned to face the window and folded her arms behind her back. “I don't mean just for me, I mean everyone. Do we really love magical girls... or do we envy them?” Hana turned back to Himeko with a smile. “I mean, you must admit that being a magical girl would be better than meeting one right? Having all that power at your disposal, you'd never have to be afraid of anything again. Maybe that contradicts what I just said, but it is easier to be brave when you're strong.”

"Whoa Hana, I didn't even know you were capable of such otherworldly thought. But I could say, personally, if I was a magical girl, I'd love that envy heheh" The ever returning smug smile came about. "That might seem a bit selfish, but what're you gunna do? With the power of magical girl, you'd be able to do such impossible feats for everyone and anyone to see. When you save someone, like they did for you, you can expect some good gratification. Then take into consideration the society we live in now. A society in which magical girls are put upon pedestals and are often talked about with positive remarks. They're essentially local celebrities."

“I agree entirely... Or at least I would.” Hana grinned like a demon. “I plan on being different than the rest of them. I can't prevent myself from feeling stronger because I have these powers, but I'm not going to try to be someone's roll model. I don't care about sponsorship deals, merchandising, or rewards. All I care about is what Ignites my hear: The spirit of adventure!” Right in front of Himeko, Hana transformed into a magical girl. “Shining scale lives for adventure, and adventures to live!” Hana's eye brows bounced up and down on her head as the room was filled with the pleasant fragrance of her scented candles.

"The rest of them? Hana what do.... OH MY GLOB YOU'RE A MAGICAL GIRL TOO?!" In her surprise, Himeko let her secret slip, quickly putting her hands over her mouth in realization of what she had said.

The pirate girl raised an eyebrow. "...What?" She raised the other. "All this time, YOU'VE been a magical girl?! I KNEW something smelled fishy! There was no way you had nothing to do with magical girls!" Hanna took a step closer to Himeko. "Well? Don't clam up now! Which one are you?"

"Me? Well dear Hana you know I'm not one to brag but..." A sly smile stretched acorss Himekos' face. "Who am I kidding right?! It of course I am!" Himeko began to cheerfully laugh as a purple aura began form around Himeko, swilling around and encasing her in it's glory. Bursting from the Aura Himeko transformed into her vampire-esque magial girl attire. Forming her spear and tapping it against the ground. "Who else would it be? It's me! My Cute Self, The Cutest Magical Girl!"

Hana eyes her companion up and down. “I...See, so you're that one.” The pirate took a step closer. “So I guess it's fair to assume that the real reason why you wanted to know if I was interested in magical girls, was because you wanted to hear me complement your magical girl persona. Is that correct?”

"Fu fu fu! Well maybe Hana, I do enjoy having my ego stoked ya'know!" Himeko ran her hand through her hair. "Afterall, I'm simply the best there is and everrrrrrybody knows it! Honestly you'd never guess how surprised I was that you'd never heard of me!"

“I said that?” Shining scale shrugged and looked away from Himeko. “Well, if I did... That was a lie.” Hana marched towards her magical girl companion. “Because while I don't follow most magical girls, I do follow you rather closely.” Hana stopped when her feet were right in front of Himeko's. “I don't really like how egotistical some magical girl types are but, I always got the impression you were a little different.” Hana started to smile. “And in meeting you in person you do seem to have a... inflated sense of self worth, but you never went out of your way to put me down. Even when I ate like a pig in front of you, you didn't call me out on it.” Hana sighed. “I'm... so happy you're exactly the way I thought you'd be.”

Himeko backed up a little. "Um! ... Well! Aha! It's... Erm! I don't really care how others look! Besides! The worse you make yourself look the better I look." Turning her head she blushed. "Besides. I just needed you to join this stupid afterschool thing, it's not like I really care or anything."

“You're contradicting yourself now.” Hana continued to walk towards Himiko until she bumped into a wall, at which point Hana stopped walking again. “When you took me out, your first question to me was if I liked magical girls, because hearing my answer meant more to you than some 'stupid afterschool thing.'” The pirate girl placed her hands on Himeko's shoulders. “You don't have to pretend to be strong for me, Himeko. I already know you are.”

Himeko was unable to make a retort. She blushed, unable to look away. Her breath began to become heavy as Hana came closer to her. Backing her into a wall. "Y-You think I'm strong? Oh my goodness..."

Hana's hands slid around Himeko's shoulders and the two were pulled into a kiss. The vampire girl's spine trembled when they made contact. Their eyelids fluttered shut as Hana hugged her tighter.

When Hana pulled away, she could see something in the corner of her eye. The pirate girl turned her head to see a few school girls looking to pick up books. They were standing in the doorway, shocked.

“Himeko?! Hana?!”

“Uh...” Hana released the vampire magical girl and swung her coat around themselves, causing them both to appear inside a cannon. It fired the duo out the window over a grassy knoll. Their landing was less then graceful, but neither of them was hurt.

“Ahem.” Shinscale stood up and dusted herself off. “Sorry about the landing, We'd have fared a bit better in a boat. My chest softened the fall, how's your booty?” Himeko was a bit dazed, but she managed to stand on her feet. “Sorry about the surprise kiss, I just kind of...” Hanna looked around to make sure they were alone. “Okay, so it's likely that our cover is blown now. On the upside, we both come from wealthy families. We could go almost anywhere, continue to do the magical girl thing with new identities.” Hana sighed. “I can't speak for you, but I really need to get away from my brother. I can't live in my own house anymore. What do you say? Do you want to leave this dump with me and make it big somewhere else?” After Himeko gave her answer, the two girls left the knoll together.

...and that was the last time either of them were seen around Umitori City.

— Magazine Shop, Market —

She calmed down a bit in the magazine shop, browsing through the latest issues. She'd given a couple interviews in the last month and she always made an effort to buy a copy of whatever they appeared in, both magical girl and literary publications. So maybe Shizuri had a bit of a narcissistic streak.

It really was a bad idea for her to have come out here. There really were too many people. But the nearest convenience store had been destroyed and this seemed like the next best choice.

She had picked up one issue that had published an interveiw and another that had a review of her last published book when another girl entered the store. Shizuri tucked the magazines under her arm and moved to the backside of the display where back issues were kept.

After a few moments, comprehension dawned on Akane's face. That must be where she had seen the indigo-haired schoolgirl before. She smiled weakly at the older girl.

"I-it's nice to meet you, Katsura-senpai," she said. "Um, my name is Fujimori Akane, I'm from class 1-D."

She bowed her head, fidgeting with her bag a little nervously. She wasn't particularly used to talking with random people, even if that random person what one of her fellow students at East Umitori, and an upperclassmen at that. Although she didn't immediately notice, Melody seemed to be attempting to peer out of her bag without being seen immediately.

What happened next was a bit of a haphazard blob of attempted communication.

"Um, I was going to, er, get something to eat or something I guess and if I don't know er maybe you wanted to... do something like that somehow then maybe something would... would..."

Akane trailed off. Why was she trying this at all? She was terrible with people she didn't know, and yet somehow this girl felt more familiar then being an Upperclassmen at East Umitori, like they'd actually spoken recently... Akane shook her head.

"N-nevermind, sorry, I'll just, er..."

Akane began to turn away slowly, Melody frowning in her bag.

The response from the younger girl had aptly confirmed her hypothesis that Fujimori Akane was one of her underclassmen, but there was still a certain sense of recognition that was not entirely associated with a shared place of education. The stray musing, however, was rapidly dismissed, considered to be of little consequence for the moment. Her attentions were focused instead upon the sudden proposal to grab something to eat. Even when conveyed in a stammered, hesitant matter, it was not particularly difficult to glean the motive behind her underclassman's words.

"I would be delighted to join you," said Katsura Hyoukyo with a smile, the reply leaving her mouth before it was possible for Akane to backtrack on the offer and leave. It was becoming clear that the younger girl possessed issues with speaking to others, but it would be unbecoming to allow that flaw to persist when Akane had mustered enough courage to provide the offer.

And maybe we can get some real fucking good grub for free!

It's becoming quite apparent why you possess the wings of an avian.

"That is, of course, if you have no objections?" she continued, indigo eyes focusing upon the younger girl's face. While admittedly her motives were to learn more about an underclassman, that extra familiarity she had felt was also a factor in the choice.

Essentially, she wished to know who Fujimori Akane was.

Akane swallowed, hard, and took a deep breath. Katsura-senpai had actually agreed? But she'd made a total fool of herself just trying to speak to her! And yet, the redhead had actually succeeded shortly after giving up entirely. She wasn't prepared for this, and for a few moments she just quietly fidgeted and blushed with embarrassment as she stood in front of the older girl. No, she had to try and calm down. She had to try and relax. She'd just had an upperclassman agree to have lunch with her. So she had to try and get over her nerves and talk without stammering so much.

"O-of course not, Katsura-senpai!" Akane declared, after another deep breath to try and soothe her nerves, "... I'm glad you accepted, really, even though I... eh-heheh..."

She rubbed the back of her head nervously. She'd made herself look like a real fool.

"Er, is there anywhere you'd like to go, senpai...?"

Nakajima Hoshi

"Hunnnh..."
murmured the blonde young woman in a completely intellectual, ponderous manner. "Tendou?"

What troubles you, Hoshi?

Less of a trouble, and more of a quibble. She didn't really have a big pinch of a dilemma right now, just more along the lines of being presented with two choices. A yes or no question, depending on how she asked it of herself.

Alright, that's fine. What are you quibbling over? A restless mind and an active one are not one and the same, you know.

Well, do I wanna eat now and avoid shopping hungry, or do I wanna get shopping done now and avoid wasting time?

Eat.

Eat?

Just eat if it's bothering you this much, trust me. A purchase made on an empty stomach always risks being heavier than you expect it to be, you know.

Nahaha, could you perhaps be talking from experience, Tendou-san?

It's improper to snicker to yourself in public, Hoshi.

I could use a Snickers...

The fairy remained as composed as ever from within the secretive depths of her hiding spot, not even rolling an eye.

I recall there being a Saizeriya around here, no?

Ooh, Saize doesn't sound so bad! Thanks, Tendou~

Any time, child.

It appeared as if the responsibility of choosing a venue for their lunch date had fallen upon her shoulders. That was far from surprising to Hyoukyo, not when she could observe the nervous fidgeting of her underclassman in real-time. She had to admit that it was in a way rather cute seeing how flustered Fujimori was from simply talking to her, but none of it showed on her smiling expression. It was becoming more and more evident that engaging others in conversation was a weakness of the younger girl's; poking at it as if Fujimori Akane was an animal at a petting zoo was far from polite.

When did ya ever care 'bout shit like that?

Is this truly that uncharacteristic of me?

You're always nagging at my flaws way more times boss!

I suppose you do tend to disappoint more frequently.

Any response from the fae was ignored.

"There is a Saizeriya nearby," she replied in the same polite, casual tone, the plastic bag of apples shifting lower so that she was holding it rather than letting it hang. "Would that be fine with you?"

"Saizeriya? That's fine, senpai," replied Akane. She hadn't had italian in a while, after all, and... just knowing that this was somehow working had filled her with with a sort of elation alongside her nervous embarrassment. Maybe becoming a magical girl had made her slightly better at talking to people, which is the reason this had actually turned out somewhat well beyond all odds? After all, she'd made such a fool of herself that she never thought anything would remotely go well. But now she was going to have lunch with an uperclassmen. Ah... it was probably just dumb luck, though, and-

Akane realized now that she had just stood there and thought to herself for several moments after agreeing to Saizeriya.

"A-Ah, um, lead the way, senpai! I g-got caught up in remembering, um, er..."

Fidgeting, Akane turned on her heel, ready to go in whatever direction that Katsura-senpai indicated... and caught herself up on her own legs, toppling forward with a yelp.

Almost immediately, her bag came open... and out tumbled Melody.

"Ow ow ow..." Rubbing her forehead, Akane slowly sat up... and her eyes fell on the fallen form of her fairy, in a very similar situation of rubbing her head and lamenting how much the fall had hurt.

Frantically, Akane grabbed Melody, who let out a yelp of surprise, and stuffed her back in her back(much to the fairy's consternation).

Katsura hadn't seen that... right? Right?

~RISA~

"Now, ye see... What's happened there is that we didn't think this through..."

Risa said as Lisa and her enjoy their doner kebabs on a bench, outside and in the vicinity of the magazine store... This happened after they were politely asked by a staff member that indeed, no foods are alowed within the establishment, especially not one prone to messy mishaps as a doner kebab... On the other hand Marza just decided to leave her share of the kebabs with the two to continue on inside...

"I guess they did remove kebab..."

Lisa said with a smirk on her face...

"Please not that meme... And how do you manage to be humorous at a time like this... Can't do it for some reason..."

"Maybe it's because I don't have a cold..."

As Lisa said that her smirk grew wider as she realizes something...

"Ha ha... You can't really escape your illness via the usual method of transfering your main to a different primary split, can't you? Since all primaries will be a copy of you now, which means they'd also have the cold..."

"I hate you..."

"Then that is self-hatred since technically I am you..."

"Yes but only technically, You do realize you're the only secondary split's memory I bother to keep an internal copy of..."

"Yes and we both know that's only because you can only keep an internal copy of exactly one split... So you, well we may need to do a training montage to get that up..."

"You know that I know that we both know that I am... well we are too lazy to bother doing that..."

"Yes... And I've just had a thought tho... do ANY magical girl ever bother to train?"

"Well we should ask one... We literally cannot be any more than a kilometer from another magical girl in this city..."

"How do we find one tho properly tho, aside from running into them in a battle like before?"

"Easy... We use our loudmouthed magical girl detector... Or at least magical potential detector..."

"Here... hold this, I'mma grab her..."

Risa said as she handed over her kebab to Lisa, who now has to hold onto all three shares much to her chagrin...

Within the Magazine shop however, things are a happenin... Marza, after browsing through the more questionable items in the racks found herself a girl who was practically glowing in her eyes near the back of the store... She fluttered over on her butterfly wings towards the individual and began speaking...

"You girl with the glasses... Now I don't want to sound like your stereotypical magical girl mascot on so many of them TV shows but I can't help but notice that you glow like a protostar... Now I can't personally ignite ye but would you like me to hook you up with a fairy? Coz judging from them magazines yer holding, you have a keen interest in... Mahou Shoujo... Unless it's a different sort of interest... Ohh maybe its ~"

Before the fairy could finish however she was interrupted with a strong gust of air which sent her into one of the magazine racks...

"Marza... what did I tell you about harassing girls just because they had potential?"

Marza got herself sorted after her tumble and looked at her "partner" with a light smirk...

"To not to... And I don't remember you having lungs as good as tha... oh yeah you shout a lot and your very loud... makes sense now..."

"Grr... Now if you're done fulfilling your fantasies git outside coz I've decided you're going to do something of use..."

Risa then turned towards the girl and bowed low...

"I'm terribly sorry for the behavior of my companion here... I apologize on her behalf because I know that she wont do it herself..."

"I would but I don't consider what I did wrong in any way shape or form..."

At that Risa turned her attention to her butterfly winged fairy...

"See what you were attempting to do was recruit a citizen, a minor at that of Japan to risk her life to fight... essentially monsters... I'm not terribly well informed about the laws but I'm pretty sure that's a crime..."

"Uhh... hello you said yes when I did that to you..."

A light blush painted Risa cheeks at the mention of when she turned into a full magical girl...

"That's besides the point..."

"What point?"

At that Lisa approaches, with a satisfied look on her face catching the tailend of the conversation...

"No point... Also, why are you in here I thought I told you to stay outside and hold onto our... Wheres my doner?"

"And mine..."

Marza added...

"I removed kebab..."

"You ate three doners?"

Risa said in mild surprise...

"Technically two... there was a third left of yours and two thirds left of Marza's"

"You utter glutton... Wasn't that food supposed to cheer me up because of my terrible night and dreadful morning?"

"Yes it was but I decided since I was you, technically "you" still consumed your share..."

She stopped as she noticed the non too friendly glare she's receiving from Risa and Marza...

"Alright alright... we can go eat something else then..."

"WE are going to eat something else, while you on the other hand will get nothing..."

At this Risa turned back to the girl with glasses...

"As apology over the fact that my fairy here harassed you I would like to offer you compensation through food... All expenses on me..."

Behind her Lisa and Marza whispered to each other, though from the sudden tensing of Risa's shoulders she definitely hears them...

"I think she's asking someone out on a date again..."

"Sure looks like it..."

Still Lisa this time...

Quite unfortunately for Fujimori Akane, her hopes that the class representative of East Umitori High School's 3-G had failed to spot the miniscule humanoid tumbling from her bag were dashed almost immediately, the movement of the small fairy having drawn Hyoukyo's attention away from rendering assistance to the fallen girl. It was with a surprising amount of control, however, that she also held back any of her surprise from becoming visible. She had not expected her underclassman to be a magical girl like herself (although admittedly it should not have been too shocking, given that the patrol routes of her peers suggested that the likelihood of at least one of them being a student at East Umitori was quite great), but the reality was sitting there before her.

She's real familiar too!

The identity of her underclassman's magical girl persona, as acknowledged by the inherently obvious observation her fairy companion had made, was indeed known to Hyoukyo. It wasn't particularly difficult to associate the red hair and shy nature of Akane with the red hair and shy nature of that new magical girl she had assisted in yesterday's battle. Of course, discovering that connection so quickly in such a manner was rather ... underwhelming. In her personal opinion, it was akin to being spoiled upon the plot of a movie she had not been planning to watch the very day after its release; even though it wasn't too important to her, the fact that it had occurred was a source of mild disappointment.

However, it did give her further reason to take the girl out on the lunch date; it would be a way to learn more about what could essentially be called a "work colleague".

"You seem to be quite clumsy today," she remarked, holding a hand out to the younger girl to help her up. If Akane was hoping to hide her identity, then Hyoukyo would oblige; it would be impolite to acknowledge the secret identity of another magical girl in public, and pretending that she hadn't seen anything was something that she was perfectly fine with doing. "Do try to be careful."

It was also, if she had to admit to herself, rather funny watching the girl try to hide the signs of being a magical girl.

Man you're mean, boss.

Blushing in embarrassment, Akane took her upperclassmen's hand and allowed herself to be pulled up to her feet, fidgeting as she did. It looked like Katsura-senpai hadn't seen anything, thankfully... Akane tried to avoid letting out an audible sigh of relief. If she'd become a magical girl only to reveal herself the first day on the job... that was just too much! That was too big of a mistake, a huge screwup just after she finally got to achieve one of her biggest fantasies. Inwardly, some part of her believed that screwing up like that was inevitable, but she tried to brush that thought off.

"Ah-hahah, I guess I am..." Akane let out an awkward laugh, reaching back and nervously rubbing the back of her head as she did. Just because she was happy she managed to hide Melody didn't mean that she felt great about falling flat on her face right in front of an upperclassmen. That was embarrassing no matter what the circumstances were.

"Um..." she hesitated a moment, trying to choke back her embarrassment, "L... lead the way, senpai!"

— Magazine Shop, Market —

The girl looked up from the magazine she was looking at. Someone was taling to her but she hadn't noticed anyone aproach. It was a fairy. She closed the magazine and stared at it for a second.

"I'm sorry. I don't think I would be able to do that."

Shizuri had been about to go on when the fairy was whisked away and replaced with a girl that was likely her partner. She'd been approached by unpaired fairies in the past and easilly brushed them off. Having another Magical Girl there made things complicated. This entire trip was turning into a disaster. Things got worse when she was asked out for food.

"I really don't think..."

But Shizuri was hungry and had yet to actually pick anything up, which was the point of being out here. She chewed her lip for a moment.

"Sure."
