My character has arrived! I wonder what Terminal can do with a character who has less backstory than frontstory...
Name: Kael Arvindr
Entity: Tserisian Human
Age: 17 solar orbits of 365.25 planetary rotations of terrestrial duration each. I.E., 17 years old.
Genre: Fortune favors the bold, and this fellow is certainly a fantasy sort of character...from our perspective at any rate.
Allineation: A variable of unknown meaning which I cannot answer to any certain accuracy.
Description [-]
Kael stands about 5 feet, 11 inches tall with dark brown...borderline black...hair, kept mid-length in a mildly disheveled fashion. Green eyes are set in a narrow face, reminding one of a more human-looking sort of elvish facial angularity. He has a slender build, and seems always ready to bounce into action at a moments notice...and indeed, tends to stay moving even when he is standing still, keeping his hands occupied within themselves or shifting his weight from foot to foot.
Biography [-]
Kael Arvindr is a lad with less past history than future. Only a few short months ago, he was an impish prankster with a flair for the forbidden test of skill in his small village, who made himself worthwhile with the catch from his hunting and various other miscellaneous skills. His guardian, the town mage, tended to keep him out of too much trouble...and on the bright side, he always gave the things he stole back to their owners, and never caused any permanent damage...he was out for the thrill and skill of his activities, after all. A few weeks after a few months ago, that changed with a quarter of his village being destroyed by a Raszugan orc raiding party, and his decision that perhaps his destiny in life was to learn from the Ranger in black who saved the rest of it. Over the course of the next few months until present day, he would learn to improve his skills in archery, athletic ability, and critical thinking with a dash of magic on the side. Over the rest of the year to follow, he will learn the basics of the Elvish language, swordsmanship, some practical application of magic, and a number of other skills until at the end of the year, the Ranger to which he had attached himself puts him essentially on the throne of the nation following the last ten years of civil war. Yes, young Kael has quite the interesting future in store for him...though it seems a practical demonstration of dimensional magic will serve as an intriguing interlude in his story at the juncture where past history meets what is to come.
Attributes [-]
Skills: Kael is a fair shot with a bow, typically using such for hunting and having received additional training since meeting his mentor, the Ranger Cruallassar. He can reliably hit a squirrel from a hundred paces, or a stationary target from two hundred. He is passable with average bladed weapons in comparison with the average person, and can wield a sword if need be. He is quite skilled in the art of what would be called free-running or parkour in modern day. He is a deft pickpocket, and also possesses a reasonable degree of stealthiness, being able to walk silently and pick out paths that keep him out of another being's line of sight or make him less likely to be noticed. He is literate...a rarity among the lower classes...and also a fair artist, when the inclination strikes him. He can mend clothes, make traps, cook, and do a small number of other generally useful things as well. Lastly, the one magic spell he has been taught thus far, is that of Ethereal Sight, which allows him to see the aura of beings or magic spells around him...and also makes his eyes glow green when he uses it.
Abilities: Kael has trained himself to be quite athletic, possessing an above-average degree of agility, speed, endurance, reflexes, and stamina. Nothing supernatural though, just don't try to race him unless you're confident in your own abilities. He's also received training in his ability to observe, to notice things that might otherwise pass unseen, and to be constantly aware of all aspects of the world around him.
Knowledge: Kael is familiar with the magic of Tsoria, having been receiving a crash course in the topic recently. He is also knowledgeable in the political situation of the world, being keenly aware of the orc presence to the North of his land and the constant unrest of his nation.
Personal Effects [-]
Clothing: Kael wears a dark green tunic and black pants, with well-worn brown boots on his feet and a pair of leather gloves tucked in his similarly fashioned belt, when not on his hands. A dark green hunting cloak can be found wrapped around his shoulders, generally with the hood back, to complete the outfit.
Equipment: Kael bears a medium hunting bow and a quiver of thirty arrows, along with a dagger kept in a sheath on his belt. In pouches along said belt, he also has a shard of flint, a compass, and three springy balls that he was given to practice hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and knowledge of a held object's physical properties. He also has a small coil of Elvish rope, which is exceptionally strong and light.
