Name: Hector von Helbrecht
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Nation: Astopol
Appearance: Stands rather tall at 6'2. Has a rather chiseled build from years of physical training. When not in military uniform, he can be found wearing formal suits and capes. When bare-chested, numerous scars can be seen across his chest and back as a result of various battle wounds taken over the years. Generally has a somber or stoic bearing.
Personality: Stern and disciplined, Hector strives to project a dignified bearing suitable for the last scion of House von Helbrecht. He bears a hatred of monsters and Talze Utera ever since his unit was annhilated in an ambush by monsters. Generally regarded as one of the more zealous crusaders, he believes that all monsters are filth and should be put to the sword. Ruthlessly pragmatic, he has no qualms with what he regards as "delivering justice" to all monsters and human enemies of the state.
Biography: - Born as the first and only son of the noble House von Helbrecht. Trained in the art of war from an early age.
- As the Rift Beasts appear, Hector loses both of his parents to the ravages of war, leaving him as master of the household as a young adolescent.
- Throws himself even further in his training from then on, wanting to avenge his parents.
- Enlists in the Astopolian military the moment he is of age. Shows great talent and quickly rises to a junior officer's rank.
- Is one of very few survivors of the Taldeer Massacre, in which most of the men in Hector's unit, including his captain, are ambushed and slaughtered by Talze Uterans. Has nursed a hatred of monsters ever since.
Abilities: - Steel Rain: The sword flashes, and in an instant, one strike becomes several. Allows Hector to make several slashes in the time it would take to swing his sword once. The amount of fatigue this technique induces increases exponentially with each additional strike that is made.
- Iron Within: With the blink of an eye, the sword shifts to meet the enemy's blade, no matter what position it was in before. No matter what stance Hector is in, he can move to parry an enemy's blow instantaneously. The blade is temporarily reinforced to the point where it could take a tremendous blow without damage, but this comes at the cost of Hector's stamina, with heavier blows exhausting him more and more. The longer a distance across his body Hector has to move his sword, the more this technique tires him out.
- Iron Without: From Iron Within, the blade inconceivably twists pasts the opponent's guard in a flash and lashes out. Makes an almost instantaenous counter-attack once a blow is parried with Iron Without.
- Thunder Hammer: Crash down on the enemy from above with the sky's wrath. A finishing blow whose strength is enhanced several times over, and tellingly makes a sound akin to a thunderbolt on impact.
Important Items:- Deus Vult: Hector's talentium greatsword. Named for a phrase from an ancient dialect.
