Dear gods. I think I'm glad that motivation prevented me joining this round because two sentences in I was miserable. I could read it. I could understand it. But it wasn't any fun, and I rp expressly for fun. Replication of errors is one thing, putting them in at every possible opportunity another. So @Terminal, I'm out. I will be ceding my life/lives (depending on how the ownership of the one given me by Aria works) to others, but I'm going to wait to do that for the moment. I'm trying to decide if I should give them to those with only a few, or wait to see who survives the first few rounds.

I'm open to being persuaded. And I would appreciate being pinged when each adventure comes to a close, just so I can check in if I forgot to. I'll be cheering you all on, guys! SMUSH THE TERMITE (not really but hey, it fits).

The only and brief persuasion I will attempt - consider, from a character perspective, modes of thought and behavior that occur when metacontextually the universe makes no sense. If errors keep racking up at the current rate, eventually poster uncertainty is going to have to bleed across to their characters.

Some news: You are all making far more mistakes than I had anticipated. '-'

I currently have six pages worth of notes detailing the nuances of those mistakes.

An example:

A particularly sophisticated error of tense, grammar, and possession. It is almost impressive really. Poses serious technical issues in implementation, but I am thinking of replacing every instance of the word 'it' with 'this.'

I am spending approximately 1000% more time checking and inserting errors than I am writing the posts, and if I were to include all of them what we currently have would be an unintelligible mush. So new policy, at least for the moment, is for me to only use the most egregious errors. In particular, errors made more than once. This will be effective as of right now.

Edit: I also now find myself in the surreal circumstance of realizing I forgot to insert a particular error or else missed proofreading a valid word that needs to be corrected to a mistake.

Edit the Second: In further regards to the current accumulation of errors, I am contemplating setting aside all errors currently accumulated other than those made more than once. This may be a merciless sudden-death bonus round, but I can be occasionally generous. What do you all think?

I can't see the error. "This" can't be used there? It is referring to her supposed future death. Sure, "it" does sound better now that I consider it, but "this" can also be used to refer to a thing. Saying "have this" while giving an item works. Ergh.

@PlatinumSkink I'd go with "that", not "this" -- "this", to me, implies it's something present or fairly immediate, and it feels more like a tense/perspective error than anything else, but it doesn't seem particularly egregious. I would accept "this" here, as a stylistic choice. I don't remember the specifics of when you use which, but it does make sense. "This"/"that" is specific, and emphasizes something more than just an "it". "It" is just a fairly generic sort of word, and if you want to highlight the death, I wouldn't use "it". In terms of replacement, you should be replacing "that"s, not "this"es, @Terminal.

I am going to surprise you, but I'm not telling you how this will happen.
Put that in past tense:
I was going to surprise you, but I didn't tell you how this would happen.

...Actually, maybe it should be a matter of correcting "was going" to "would"? Honestly English is rather flexible, and there's always half a dozen ways to say anything and any one of them might not feel quite right to someone but fine to others.
