@aviendha I can't art so anything that is actually art always impressiveness me. Yeah, I'd definitely love to see either this get worked on, or something else.

We have a 7th person but, I'm still waiting on them to decide if they want to join or not. I made this RP in the first place for them because they wanted to get back into RP and loved this idea, so I'd like to keep the slot open for them until they decide they absolutely aren't going to join. They're going through some things lately and don't know yet if they're in the right mindset to get back into RP.

@aviendha Hey just a heads up, and by no means am I rushing you, but we are waiting for you to post in order to continue the tournament. It's understandable if you're either stuck or just sort of lack the inspiration, still it would be nice to know how it's going on your end.

@SaintRice Sort of the same deal for you, but your next post isn't critical. It's only me waiting on you at any rate.

I figured in interest of not dying out so early we do need to get in a habit of poking each other for attention. Sometimes all it takes a quick prod to get back into gear. Also personally I really would encourage us to just screw around in the OOC, doesn't even have to be about anything important. It'll just be nice to have that chatter.

@Damiann47 As Torack said, I'm waiting on them. My character has a lot of weaknesses and only a few sure things, and Torack accidentally misread one of my things, making it impossible for me to react. It's no one's fault, but I can't respond until the issue is fixed. So please don't get mad at me.

In these battles, be sure to read each other's traits thoroughly, to understand the character's abilities and limitations alike, so misunderstandings like this don't happen.

The issue here is that when my character sinks into the shadows, she is invisible to all the senses, unless someone has been trained as she has in becoming one with the darkness (or if they're just accustomed to the dark), and that she remains so until her first attack lands from her position. Additionally, if she's in a shadow, and someone tries to land a hit, she'll just teleport to another shadow, or otherwise become ethereal.

@aviendha Yeah pretty much, Torack explained he needed to edit his post, and I didn't realize this. I also apologize if I came off as overly hostile, seeing as it has been a day I wanted to poke around a little to see what we were all up to.

Anyway I agree, at least for right now we really need to pay attention to other's characters. I imagine this will become less of a problem after the tournament.

Nobody's angry. Damiann just wants to keep the RP going and not see it die, and seeing a good amount of time pass without a post and without much chatter in the OOC often gives the vibe that people are losing interest. I'll be posting in the morning, and I also want to say I don't want anyone to worry about interrupting anything or posting too much. Let's refrain from posting one liners or you know, little 3-4 sentence posts. But if you feel you have enough to post for a couple paragraphs, then go ahead. Don't worry about others. Feel free to just do your own thing as long as there isn't anyone you need to wait on. Meaning if two people are having a conversation, you don't NEED to wait for the two people fighting to post before you do. There's no issue with just doing your own thing here as long as it's all within the same scene.

That being said of course I do encourage people to respond to everything going on around them, and not just sit off in little groups of 2-3 doing their own things while a couple others do theirs, and a couple others do theirs. It's all part of the same scene, remember that, but also remember that consistent, active posts is what keeps a RP alive. But for that to be the case it has to be a healthy balance between consistent posts and the content within them. There's no point in posting every few hours if it's just a 4 sentence post every time. Likewise there's no point in waiting for every single member of the RP to post before you post yourself if it means waiting 3 days just to have a couple paragraphs of responding to an IC question.

A balance has to be found, and that's a part of advanced RP in that size of posts isn't everything but a balance between post size and post detail has to be found.

With all that being said, this tournament isn't just for the characters to better understand each other and learn trust IC. It's also for people to see each other's actions IC and have a good understanding of their abilities OOC by being able to see them across a few scenes. Genius no? I totally intended it to be like that from the very start. Yeup. All me. I thought that up. You can praise my intellect and ignore the midget in the corner saying I didn't even think about such a purpose for the scene until just now.

ANYWAYS HEY GUYS A QUICK NEWS UPDATE AND WARNING INSPIRATIONAL SPEECH AHEAD sort of

I believe I mentioned in here that I made this RP for a friend. They wanted to get back into RP, I brought up the old RP I did when I tried this idea before on another site, and they said the idea sounded awesome and they wanted to be a part of something like that. It was because of them wanting to do this RP that I started it in the first place. However they have been dealing with a lot lately and haven't had the right mindset or been in the mood to make an attempt at getting back into RP.

I've been talking with them to see if they still want to take part, or if they want to just join later on, or if they don't want to take part at all and just forget about the whole thing and I'll stop bringing it up. OR would I... anyways. They still want to join. They said they need a few days of recovery from the going ons of the last few days, and then they'll be ready. So our seventh member will be joining in the next few days.

She means a lot to me, and RP is a huge part of our history I want to reexplore together with her and make all the talk about "How things used to be" the same talk we can have about the here and now. So let's give her something wonderful to come into alright?
