While running around the school, Tekkan suddenly bumped headfirst into a dark-haired girl with a battered or at least poorly put together duel disk. The impact caused the youth to stumble backwards, landing on his posterior. "Hey, watch where you're going!" he snapped at the girl as he rubbed his head in pain. "You looked like you were lost in thought or something, just wandering aimlessly. You should really be more careful."

Standing back up and brushing off his clothes with his hands, Tekkan cleared his throat and decided to start some sort of idle conversation with the girl. "...Sorry about that, though. My name's Tekkan. Katsuragi Tekkan." He held out a hand to the other student, offering to help her up off the ground. "You still in the tournament, or do you have time to kill?"

Yuryuu paid little mind to his opponent's antagonizing display. As frustrated as he was, right now, he wasn't going to let it affect his dueling. She accepted his challenge, and that much gave Yuryuu the incentive to duel.

Drawing his starting hand, he realized that he had the cards to immediately find out the kind of deck his opponent was going to use. "To start my turn, I'm going to activate Card Destruction! We discard our entire hand and draw as many cards that we discarded." With that, he willingly threw Mountains, Rare Metal Dragon, Genesis Dragon and Fierce Anger Dragon into his graveyard. "I will then set a Monster and three cards face-down on the field. Turn End." Yuryuu declared, a face of indifference as he waited for his opponent.

"yeah! That sounds nice, facing off and I mean. I think you and me should battle, though. I've already seen Rumi's cards and it wouldn't be fair to fight her right off the bat. Still, it'll have to happen eventually so I guess we can battle first if you and Martin feel like battling" He spoke, shoving his hands into his pockets and gazing worriedly at Rumi. He hoped this was something worth doing. In truth, his heart was racing. He was worried suddenly. Watching Rumi win a match made him worried about fighting her, and Martin had staggering amounts of Lifepoints, Matt didn't exactly seem like a pushover too. He just hoped his cards would be strong enough. He jumped a bit and turned to pull his backpack off, he unzipped it and pulled out his custom, advanced duel disk, one not yet in stores. He hoped he didn't just look like he thought money could win the game for him. Placing his deck in, he saw at the bottom was the card he loved the most, his precious Lone Savage Space Warrior starred back to him, reminding him there was nothing to be afraid of.

Finally. Now he had gained the knowledge regarding the circumstances behind his Sinister Sermon, and what their response was from it. There was an expression behind The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell's helmet as his robotic enemy, the professor they programmed as Furiko, declared his personal name at him. Thoughts flew by as he pondered how they obtained his name; did Ryuuchi give him up because they thought the crime was done by that Phantom Duelist of Saotome instead of the rightful criminal? Or perhaps it was him, the peculiar stranger that provided the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell a unique opportunity?

He performed a quick flourish of the right arm as he took a large bow.

"The game is afoot; Catch me if you can! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" he declared as the duel raged on, taking the opportunity to dash to the Synchro House garage, of course going safely around the pitfall. All the while he made quick jumps over various obstacles and pushed various individuals out of his way.

Now he just needed to get to his proper Duel Runner, before any of them thought of doing so or before they could catch him.

"Eeeeh~? Ser~i~ous~ly? I thought that was a JOKE. Well, alright th- OH, you're going."

Youryou seemed to already be taking his first turn, his earlier offer apparently now invalidated. She drew her hand one at a time.

"Geez, I guess you're one of THOSE types, huh mis~ter? A~ll talk? Afraid you're gonna LOSE, are ya? Well don't wor~ry, cuz you're gon~na. It's prac~tic~ally in~ev~it~a~ble, don'tcha KNOW? 'Cuz I'm NONE OTHER than~"

"...To start my turn, I'm going to activate Card Destruction!"

"~Wait, what?"

The girl looked at her hand for a moment as the boy set out his field, then looked back at him, stunned. Slowly, she discarded her entire hand. Waboku. Goe Goe the Gallant Ninja.

...And three Jackpot 7's.

"That's, er...", she trailed off.

For a moment, there was complete awkward silence, and the participants only had cicadas and their own thoughts to accompany them. This was a quite literally unprecedented level of failure. She had, in fact, achieved the legendary Turn 0 Win, the rarest and most hollow of all victories. Such staggering incompetence was unheard of. The kid cradled her face in her hands, the mood now completely ruined.

"I'm just... I'm gonna go."

One smokebomb later, the child had disappeared.

Well, thought Aya, That could have been avoided. Maybe if she'd been paying a bit more attention with where she was walking, maybe if she'd bothered to pack some more protection into her deck, maybe if she'd not been sitting near a window seat on the bus all of this could have been avoided, and she wouldn't be lying on the floor for the second time today with - She sniffed - Yep, a nosebleed. In bad mangas, a nosebleed often meant some deep, physical attraction to somebody else, usually brought on by two of the characters violently colliding with each other. As Aya picked herself off the floor and gave a few quick once overs to the other guy on the floor, she realized real life was probably a lot less easygoing then that.

He was cute, certainly, with a boyish charm and a big floppy mop of white hair that looked pretty familiar. She just couldn't place him, but he certainly looked familiar. He could talk the ears off an elephant, too, even while trying to pick her back off the floor. She declined for a second, pulling a little box of tissues from a skirt pocket and pinching the bridge of her nose with one.

"Yeah, thanks." She began, her voice slightly muffled because of the tissue. "I'm out of the tournament, since you're asking. So don't think this strategy of violently knocking people down then dueling them while they're dazed is gonna pay of-"

She finally placed him.

"Hang on, aren't you that Igknights guy? The one who lost to that really standoffish dragons player?"

Yuryuu stared blankly into the smoke before him. He felt like his entire existence was being brought into question for a sudden moment. The duel disk screen had "defeat" written on it, however he couldn't comprehend how it had happened. Was it an error? No, Yuryuu thought back to the hand that his opponent had dropped... it had contained 3 copies of Jackpot 7!

Then all of a sudden, it came around in a circle. He had been pulled away from his duel with.... he remembered the name Leo spouting from over by the woman who brought him here, all so the Battle Royale could end? There was no battle, just a bitter taste left in the corner of his mouth. His time truly had been wasted.

Yuryuu turned off towards where he thought he saw Tekkan run off. As he walked away, he called out to the woman. "I dueled her like you wanted. If it's fine with you, I will go back to what I was doing. This has proven to be nothing but a waste of my time."

Rumi quickly interrupted the two "But we have already started a Dramatic Duel!" Rumi called out throwing out the term her friend gave her for a scenario where 1 person duels 3 others though she wasn't sure if it was already started and started up her own duel disk though hers was a regular old model commercial duel disk with a normal blade still stickered with the name "Little Yamada Sweets" though this time the stickers were more apparent due to her taking a really close look at her disk "Awaiting 2 other users, Tag mode" Rumi read out confused "Tag mode? what does that mean?" Tekkan tried stifling a snicker as he noticed the dark-haired girl had a nosebleed. Either she was attracted in the white-haired youth, or the impact was a lot worse than it looked. Probably the latter, since he didn't exactly consider himself to be attractive. Ah well, at least she kind of was. He had a bit of a thing for long-haired girls, but this wasn't exactly the time or place for that.

However, Tekkan's smile dampened a little bit when the girl cut herself off from scolding the youth before even telling him her name. He hoped what she was about to say wasn't something that would trigger bad memories.

But of course it was.

The police officer's son's eyes went dead as the girl he barely knew stated that she recognized him from, of all things, the duel against Yuryuu. The one that ended just as soon as it started, with the dragon child completely demolishing his strategy of shutting down his big monsters with Tyrant's Throes.

"H-Hang on, how do you know that happened?! Y-You weren't there, were you?!" Tekkan questioned the girl as his voice shivered with violent-

"DUEL ME! IF I WIN, YOU MUST TELL NO ONE ELSE ABOUT WHAT YOU SAW!"

-fury.

The youth gritted his teeth with rage as he stared with resentment at the girl who just triggered a bad memory within him, booting up his duel disk.

It was supposed to be a for fun duel, but as the saying goes, if you mess with the bull, you get the horns.

She rolled her eyes, as she engaged her disk, sighing. Whatever this guy was, graceful in defeat wasn't one of them. She rubbed her nose with a finger, checking the bleeding.

"I would have done it for free if you'd just told me." She began. "But whatever, a Duel's a Duel. Of course, if I win, i'll get to tell everyone about the time you managed to somehow lose against Tyrant Dragon Turbo. Even though that Tyrant Dragon player is probably already talking 'bout it behind everyone's back. DUEL!"

As the Challenged, not the Challenger, she could go first without too much of a problem. She drew her starting five, folding them into her palm as was her habit.

"I summon Retaliating "C" in Defense mode to my side of the field." She began. The monster barely had any time to react to being summoned before she played her next card. "Disrupted Kaiju Dream, Go! With this card, i can wipe the board clean on both sides of the field, and i get two beautiful Kaiju monsters to replace them with!" The Peaceful earth of the school's walkways cracked and split open as she played her card. The poor cockroach had no chance, being flipped and casually crushed by a passing boulder as the two Kaijus took to the board, the Insect and the Machine types making high-pitched keening noises as they faced each other on the field. Aya grinned, like a ringleader announcing her next act.

"With my poor precious "C" biting the dust this turn, i can add a Maxx "C" from my deck straight into my hand. But that's not all, no siree! By using Kaijus from either side of the field, I can XYZ them into a far more rare and powerful lil' beastie. Just watch this blatant disregard for the rules of the game in exchange for cool stuff, and come on out!" She raised a hand, dramatically, as both her Kaijus ran into each other, merging as one ball of light. She loved this part. When the sky twisted and turned dramatically, and from either side of the horizon what seemed like mountains moved, shaking, and twisted upwards, clamping down like a bear trap onto the twin specks of light that seemed so tiny in the behemoth's mouth. She breathed out.

"Dagiorah, The Sun-Swallowing Kaiju!"

She took a moment to revel in the sheer size of her monster, those spittle-soaked teeth that resembled mountains, those eyes so wide as to contain entire galaxies inside them. The monster was all mouth, the rest of the monster's vast form being hidden somewhere behind that enormous maw. It was a sight for sore eyes. That thing could use a Dyson Sphere as a toothpick. She just had enough time to admire that monster before it's effect would kick in.

"...Unfortunately, Daigorah's special ability kicks in-" She began, saying as slowly as possible. "If it was summoned by it's own effect like that, you, erm, get to have it. All 3300 of it's attack and 4000 of it's defense. And i'll set two cards to end my turn."

Matt grinned, pleased Martin had accepted the duel request. Rumi took out her disk and tried to initiate the battle, not fully understanding it. Matt keyed himself into the duel, his name showing up on the disk. "Tag mode is simply when multiple people are on a single team." Matt explained as he drew his starting hand, not even bothering to look at it. "Alright-" Lua was the other kids name right? It'd been mentioned somewhere he was sure of it. "Lua add yourself to the duel and Martin can get us started." Matt said, eager to begin the duel. This should be fun, he wondered if Martin would open up with a crushingly powerful card or simply stall for a bit. It made sense if his deck gained that many life points to have a card that's attack increased based off the life point difference, though that may not be the case. Plus he didn't know what decks Rumi and Lua were using, so it should be exciting all around.

Eagerly, Lua looked to the touch screen on his duel disk and pressed on the accept tab, allowing him to join the duel. He looked to others, thinking about their cards. He knew Rumi's now that he had seen them and could guess she had a Maldoche deck, which would go well with him, but he had to remember not to activate his morphing jars. Then Martin. Martin appeared to have some sort of life giving deck. Perhaps a life drain or one with a monster based on how many life points he has. Regardless it'd be tough for Lua to beat. Then there was Matt, another big concern. He knew nothing of his deck, lifepoints, anything. If this was any indication of how he felt, it was as if Matt had nothing but face down cards. With a long gulp he leaned over to Rumi nervously.
"I-I don't know about this, they seem to be pretty tough! We better work really well together, ok?"

"O-oh. I guess I'll go f-f-first then..." Martin thumbed his duel disk as it shot five cards into his hand.

"I'll activate the f-field spell... Chaos Zone." the area warped around the mall, making it appear as if the group were going through a worm hole as swirling masses zipped in and out of existence around them. "N-next... I'll activate Soul Absorption. Then, I'll use G-gold Sarcophagus. W-with it, I'll banish Necroface until the second standby phase after this t-turn..." The sarcophagus opened and inside of it writhed a mass of fleshy tentacles around the cracked face of a doll. If there was any reason for the boy's timidity, it was likely how absolutely horrifying that card was. "O-oh. And Necroface activates his special ability... We each banish the top five cards in our decks..." he sent five cards from his deck to the banish zone. Mathemetician, Pot of Desires, D.D. Survivor, Dimension Barrier, D.D. Trainer. Just like that, four counters appeared on the field in a form resembling spiral galaxies behind Martin, and his lifepoints shot up by a whopping 2500, putting him at 307500 life points.

"I'll set one card... O-okay. You guys can go..." he said, ending his turn. Crawling out of one of the ether was a man in tattered clothing- D.D. Survivor- taking a knee. It was in defense mode.

It was unbelievable how quickly the match ended. The girl had not only won, but also vanished before their eyes. Though, the lady had another issue to deal with, and was quick to give chase to the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell. She picked up her phone and called back to professor Furiko, letting him know of what happened and ran after Fyodor.

"You win some, you lose some, kid." she told Yuryu before dashing off. The parking structure of the dorm houses was attached to the side of each of them facing away from the main school gates. Cars were parked throughout the structure, with specific duel runner parking designated at the bottom floor- which of course did not stop any student from parking their motorcycles elsewhere.

Baseball sliding into the garage, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell sprung up and glanced from side to side. So far it appeared that those Servant of Angels, or as the mundanes would put it "Saotome Staff-members", were not close on his tail. Konstantinovich quickly clasped his hands together in prayer as he rushed towards the stairway and slid sideways down the railing.

Some might've questioned why The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell actually placed his Duel Runner in the proper section. For one thing, it reduced his chances of having a car scratch up that beautiful, sleek black exterior. It also served as a nice way to keep tabs on other riders. And finally, who would suspect The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell to follow even a single rule? Surely they'd think he'd park it in a way to deter cars or something.

At the bottom of the stairs, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell spotted the trash can he marked as a drop off spot. With the upmost haste did Fyodor thrust both arms into the trash can to root around for it. After he passed quite a few opened trading card packs, soda bottles, and some partially eaten takeout which was starting to grow foul, he grabbed what he needed.

Out of the trash The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell pulled out a black trash bag with blue tie that was partially filled. Slinging it to the ground, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway to Hell began to madly claw through it.

Plucked out of this mess was a bright and gaudy golden drawstring sack with glittering pink strings. The outside of the sack had a multitude of images from the Funny Bunny series. The largest of these images is the titular character Funny Bunny sticking his hands out wide with both thumbs in his ears with a dangling tongue staring directly at the outside viewer. However Funny Bunny seems unaware of his plight as Ruff Ruff McDog holds out his comical gun pointing down at Funny Bunny in the foreground. But to keen minded individuals who paid attention to the other smaller images, they would notice many images depicting situations of Funny Bunny managing to escape the long arm of the law of Ruff Ruff McDog.

Fyodor held out both his arms out for a moment and glanced at each of them for a second. He pulled the bag open, leaving some nasty smears near the opening. Surely there was an expression under the helmet of The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell as he glanced at the smear marks on both the Funny Bunny drawstring bag, and then at the few little smears that were on a ziplock bag that held a collection of trading cards. But that expression was between him and the Devil. The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell opened the plastic bag and pulled out the trading cards; then shortly after he opened his duel disk to reveal his deck. After pulling out a few more cards from his deck, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell swapped the cards hidden at the drop off point and dumped the others in the ziplock bag. He quickly threw the ziplock bag into the trash and focused his attention on the Funny Bunny drawstring bag.

Fyodor returned the deck to the duel disk and took the Funny Bunny bag, gave it a quick pat, and hazardously folded it and shoved it underneath the trash can.

With this task accomplished, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell dashed towards his duel runner, hopped on it as he quickly grabbed his keys. Turning on the ignition and slamming his duel disk back to where it rightfully belonged, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell sped out of the garage.

Listening to the dark-haired girl talk smack about him more and more, Tekkan gritted his teeth in anger. Would she shut up and get on with the duel already?

The youth regretted his decision as soon as Aya played her first spell card.

He watched as the cockroach was immediately destroyed by debris caused by two Kaiju straight out of a Godzilla film; a gigantic spider monster surrounded by sticky strings, and a giant mechanical three(?)-headed dragon who seemed capable of decimating even stars. Tekkan wasn't sure if he should bask in their glory or run to the hills.

The dark-haired girl wasn't done yet, however; after marveling at her gigantic monster companions, the two were shrunk down(although not by much) into two Xyz Materials and replaced by quite possibly the biggest thing that Tekkan had ever laid eyes on.

And it was even on his side of the field, albeit in Defense Mode, but did it really matter?! He had his own Kaiju to command as he pleased!

"Haa-hahahahaha!" the youth laughed as he pointed at Aya with his index finger. Tekkan was a small speck of dust compared to Daigorah, but then again, so was Aya. "Are you out of your mind?! How do you expect to defeat me if I control the strongest monster in your deck?!" the youth ridiculed the dark-haired girl as he drew his card and entered the Standby Phase. "You're as good as d-"

A quick yet blindingly bright flash of light blasted from the Kaiju's mouth. The indicator on Tekkan's duel disk skipped his Main Phase 1 and jumped straight into his Main Phase 2.

"...what." The youth said flatly. He wasn't sure what exactly it was that he expected, but it sure as hell wasn't this. "Uh. This thing is useless to me now, so I guess I'll tribute it for Igknight Gallant?"

The giant cosmic horror, swallower of entire stars, vanished into a spectral dust and was soon replaced by a comparatively tiny bulky green knight. Slightly confused by what just happened, he shrugged and then adopted a fighting stance.

"A-Anyway. I'll activate Summoner's Art and add Igknight Veteran to my hand." The light blue Igknight with a very weird gunblade(a weapon that big with a blade that small? What?) ejected from Tekkan's deck and into his hand.

"Next, I'll activate Igknight Paladin and Igknight Templar in my Pendulum Scales, then use Paladin's effect to destroy both of them and add Igknight Margrave to my hand." The purple knight made hand signals towards the orange one, and they then blasted each other with their respective weapons. A red knight dual-wielding riot gun-esque gunblades was then ejected into Tekkan's hand.

"And now, I'll activate Margrave and Cavalier in my Pendulum Zones and Pendulum Summon the Igknights I previously destroyed from my Extra Deck, as well as Veteran from my hand!" With a quick whistle, the red and pink knights called forth Igknight Paladin and Igknight Templar, who were riding out to the scene in a dune buggy decorated with multicolored flames, as well as Veteran, who was struggling to keep up with the other two. When all 4 Igknights were on the field, they each adopted their respective fighting stances.

"But that's not all! I'll overlay Igknight Veteran with Igknight Gallant and Xyz Summon Photon Strike Bounzer!" The two older knights were condensed into spheres of light and made way for a red beast of some kind with light emanating from its thighs and torso.

"And with that, I'll set one card face-down and end my turn."

He hoped that the card he just set would work on Aya's Kaijus. Regardless, he would activate it immediately after she drew her card, and then the fun would hopefully start.

It didn't take long for Yuryuu to quickly grasp the layout of the School. He hadn't been here very long, but he could already figure out where all important locations would be for his access. All he needed to figure out is where Tekkan went. "He will know where that guy would likely head...." Yuryuu thought to himself, as he prowled the empty walkways of the school. It seemed with the Battle Royale over, there were fewer students around, leaving only freshman to socialize and learn each other's names.

Before long, Yuryuu finally stepped around a corner, gazing at a duel that was set to start. Dueling was the person he sought, Tekkan, and his opponent being someone that gave him a sense of Deja Vu. Quietly, he gazed eagerly at the fight, folding his arms expectantly for the outcome of their battle.

"...Disrupted Kaiju Dream, Go! With this card, i can wipe the board clean on both sides of the field, and i get two beautiful Kaiju monsters to replace them with!"

This doesn't look good for Tekkan, Yuryuu though to himself. There weren't many decks that could take on the Kaijus. He glared as Tekkan's opponent Xyz-summoned a creature even Yuryuu had never seen in a Kaiju deck. His face turning stern, Yuryuu was interested to see how Tekkan would retaliate.

The little girl vaulted silently onto the roof of the school, her face growing uncharacteristically grim and her steps filling with purpose. A quiet click came from her duel disk as she stepped in front of a ventilation duct. Total 19.

"That you?"

"Password."

The girl sighed and rolled her shoulders.

"Color of the flower
Has already faded away,
While in idle thoughts...
"

"...My life passes vainly by,
As I watch the long rains fall.
"

"We done here?"

"Shoot."

The kid rounded the corner to find what appeared to be a teen prostitute in a bathing suit, filing her nails.

"So, er..."

"You like it? It's my new look."

"So you're trying for... Fetish model?"

"She's a student here, actually. Umi Ruka.", the girl henceforth known as Umi Ruka blew on her nails before looking back at her partner, "Gives you kind of a 'prize queen' vibe, right? Don't worry, she spends most of her time rooting around in garbage or whatever. Doesn't like to talk."

The child massaged her temples and tried not to look too closely at her partner.

"I can't believe I talked you up to the students down there..."

"Aw, it's no big deal! Besides, I could tell you were having a great time!"

"I'd be having a better time if you gave me back my own deck.", the kid responded, holding up her duel disk-clad arm, "This one's boring as hell."

"I prefer the word 'safe'. You know the rules, pipsqueak- 'long as you're my proxy, you gotta use a deck I've built."

"Then build me a better one, dammit! And get me a better look while you're at it!"

Umi shifted her seating in order to face her child companion completely.

"Oh? And I don't suppose you have an idea in mind?"

"Just... Something taller! And... More male!"

"Well the former's a no-go. Even a small model like yours eats power like it's no tomorrow. Doubt you can even turbo duel like that. As for 'more male'...", she shrugged, "...Eh, maybe I can rig something up. Gimme a week. Just... I dunno, wear a real disguise until then."

"I'm holding you to that."

"Sure, whatever."

Umi hopped off the ventilation shaft she'd been using as a seat and strolled across the roof, making a motion for the kid to follow her.

"Seriously, I'll make you swallow a thousand needles if you're lying, alright?"

"Hey now, I'm against violence."

"Since when?"

"Since just now. Now c'mon, we don't have all day! Things to do, people to hurt!"

"...What happened to 'against violence'..?"

Rumi who had already drawn her hand looked at her top five cards being banished "that's unfair!" Rumi called out in response to everyone's deck's cards being banished and gaining a whopping 10500 life points on top of what he has already "Since I came up with this... Rumi said activating her spell having what looked like a ticket in an envelope appear on a table, quickly setting 4 card's face down afterwards "and summon Madolche Chauxlavier and since I have to... if I want to stand a chance attack you directly" Rumi declared hoping to at least chip at the whopping 5 times difference in life points

"Aww."

Aya was sooo upset when her giant cosmic horror was swept off the board in favour of a dinky little knight. She tried not to say anything, but it showed on her face. She toyed with the idea of activating one of her facedowns as revenge, but nah. One didn't work without a Kaiju on the field anyway. She waited, watching him like a hawk as he went through the rest of his combo.

"...what. Uh. This thing is useless to me now, so I guess I'll tribute it for Igknight Gallant? A-Anyway. I'll activate Summoner's Art and add Igknight Veteran to my hand. And now, I'll activate Margrave and Cavalier in my Pendulum Zones and Pendulum Summon the Igknights I previously destroyed from my Extra Deck, as well as Veteran from my han-"

"C-C-C-Combo breaker! " She yelled, not so much activating the card as slamming her fist down onto the edge of her duel disk. The trap card rose up with some force. "Solemn Warning, kid! For trying to special summon once this turn, i can pay half my pointlives to negate and destroy those cards. So, it's bye-bye to that Paladin, Templar, and that Veteran, all of which go strrrrraight to your graveyard and not that extra deck!"

She was grinning like a pumpkin. Stopping combos in their tracks gave her a warm, fuzzy feeling that even the best plays ever didn't give. The german duelists, where T.G. Stun was law, had a word for this feeling. Schadenfreude. Delight in the misery of others. As she crowed to the gathered spectators and to her opponent in the most unladylike way possible, she suddenly realised what that meant. Her opponent meekly played one face down card onto the field and ended his turn.

"Whoo! Anyway, my turn." She added the new card from her deck to her hand, passing her standby phase. Her opponent only had a monster and a spell on the field. That Margrave and Cavalier weren't fooling nobody. Still, bit of an issue. That one normal monster he had, the one that had been tributed with her dear, sweet, precious kaiju still had enough life to end the game right here. She'd have to play smart, not hard.

"I use the effect of the Kaiju slumbering in my grave, banishing it from my graveyard-" She slid the card from out of her grave and into her pocket "So i can add one more Kaiju from deck to hand." She looked at her four cards, plus the one face down on the side of her field. "I'll tribute your Gallant, just like you tributed my Kaiju you ass, to bring out a Dogoran, the mad flame Kaiju to the field! And with one Kaiju on the field, another will soon join it. Come on out, Gamaciel, The Sea Turtle Kaiju!"

The two beasts, one red and one blue, eyed each other, pacing around each side of their field for an advantage. The odds were stacked in her opponent's favour, and she rolled her eyes at whatever stupid retort he made about it. "Gamaciel, Attack! Trap card open, Kaiju Capture Device! This card acts like a book of moon for all kaijus, I can flip any one i want into defense position. That Dogoran I lent you only has 1200 defense, easy pickings for my turtle to crush you with its 2200 Attack!"

"And with that battle, i'll end my turn here."

@The book of bad juju

Tekkan nearly jumped out of his skin when Aya yelled out a phrase that sounded remarkably familiar to him and activated Solemn Warning, completely breaking his ultra combo and leaving the youth with one card face-down and just 1 Normal Monster to guard his Life Points. "Good lord!" he yelled back to the dark-haired girl. "Scared me half to death, you Kaiju freak! Don't do that!" He grumbled to himself as Aya did typical Kaiju shenanigans; tribute the opponent's monster for a Kaiju, summon a Kaiju to their own field, and have the two duke it out Godzilla style. Same thing every time. She seemed to expect him to make a remark about all this, but Tekkan honestly didn't care and just sighed, his right face cheek resting in the palm of his hand.

When his turn rolled around, Tekkan drew his card, and boy howdy did it make him grin like a devil. This was the exact card he needed, and the best part was that it was something he just lost.

"With my Scale 2 Igknight Cavalier and Scale 7 Igknight Margrave, I'll Pendulum Summon Igknight Gallant from my Extra Deck and Igknight Veteran from my hand!" The pink and red knights let out a sharp whistle, the green and light blue Igknights jumping out of a spontaneous explosion and going into their battle stances.

"Now that I have 2 Level 6 monsters on my field, I'll use them to build the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon Gauntlet Launcher!"

The two knights gave a salute as they were condensed into two spheres of light, which then created and orbited around a bulky red warrior of some sort armed with rocket punch action.

"Here's the fun part: By detaching 1 Xyz Material from Gauntlet Launcher, I can destroy 1 monster you control! So say sayonara to that Gamera wannabe Gameciel!"

The mechanical warrior turned to face the giant blue sea turtle, which absolutely dwarfed him in size. However, unfazed by the Kaiju that stood before him, he carefully held both of his rocket fists in front of him and launched one of them at the monster's head. The impact of the gauntlet's titanium plating combined with how fast the object zoomed towards the monster was enough to knock it out cold, sending it tumbling backwards and the solid vision just barely missing Aya.

"You're wide open now! Time for a direct attack, Gauntlet Launcher! GO!"

Tekkan pointed his index finger at the girl. The red mechanical warrior, now missing a fist, slowly stomped towards Aya and, upon arrival, started winding up his arm to punch her something fierce. Once finished, the warrior unleashed a wicked uppercut which would probably have sent the girl flying through the roof if the whole thing was more than just solid vision. The duel was over.
