The club was dark, having different color lights dance around the area. A large man was behind the bar surviving drinks, with barley dressed women dancing on the stages and bars nearby. A man walked up, wearing a suit as he talked to the man behind the bar, who nodded and handed the man a large bottle of alcohol. The man in a suit made a joke and the two chuckled as he walked off, going to a door that lead downstairs.

The basement was much brighter as the man in the suit entered a room, where four more guys were. There was another man, tied to a chair with duck tape on his mouth. One man punched the guy a few times as the others took a swig of the drink.

"Well boy, you better hope John shows up with that amulet." He said, hitting the man in the gut. "Gotta say Justin, you're not nearly as much as as when you are on fire." He laughed with the others. Justin didn't say anything, as he had a little secret. The duck tape was starting to come loose.

John Constantine walked into the bar, looking around. "Leave it to the punk to get captured in a place like this. What happened to the good ole days when these things happened at a warehouse?" He asked and walked over to the bar, talking to the large man. The man nodded and went to make a phone call.

Hecate wasn't sure why she was here, given that the Hellblazer himself was there. Of course, just because John Constantine was there didn't mean that they were out of the woods yet. Of course, she wasn't sure if he knew that he had back up or not. She had hidden herself in the back corner, waiting for a sign that she could swoop in to help.

It had been odd, getting a call from her previous mentor and being told that she had to get her butt to this lame ass bar and help out. Apparently the Dark Passenger had gotten himself caught, or in some sort of trouble. Sometimes interpreting the future was complicated, and if anyone knew that more than Madam X, Hecate would love to meet them. She fiddled over her necklace, over and over, hoping that she wouldn't have to jump in. Gods knew that while she was itching for a fight, not everyone at the bar was invovled in this.

She finished the last swig of her drink and got up and settled in at the bar, sitting next to John Constantine and looked up at him. "Looking for a good time?"

Having fun at a bar was a bit of a different take then having fun at an amusement park, but considering most places were closed this late at night, Light didn't have much of a choice. Though after scaring those food vendors during the day with her cute mosnterous outward appearance, She decided to wear a large trenchcoat and hat with sunglasses. Suspicious yes, but at least she wasn't attracting attention from those weird mascott people.

Sitting down at the bar, Light put on the fakest male voice she could, making sure to keep her hat tipped down so the bartender couldn't see her face or teeth. "A shot of your strongest stuff please." she said. If she was going to have fun, might as well get drunk first. Not like her outfit would fall off anyway, a little bit of glue saw to that.

A horde of writhing bodies powered on-warded by a combination of uncontrollable lust, heart breaking depression, and music as primal as those who danced to it. To top this off this seething pot of overwhelming urges was drowned in a seemingly never ending sea of booze. "Ahh bars never change." These words played through the figurative head of the astral being that floated unseen above the dancing crowd. The invisible specter that observed the crowd was no other than Johnny Doe, or Haunt depending on the company one kept. If one was able to get over the slight shock that a disembodied soul was indeed a real thing they may then ask the question why it would be interested in a shady nightclub such as this. Being dead as long as Johnny has tends to leave a certain longing for the usual sensations that life has to offer and from his decades upon decades of unlife Johnny has found that the best way to come close to these old sensations was through observation, tonight's sensation of choice just so happened to be the dark gratification that one could get from a less than reputable establishment such as this.

Well that was only part of the reason that Johnny was currently haunting this fine establishment, work was part of it like it usually was when it came to Johnny. Johnny had been working a case for the past few days, a young girl was found dead and her body was mutilated. The cops wrote it off as an animal attack but those with the right know how would recognize that the manor of death for this unfortunate victim was in fact a sacrificial ritual. Through some superior spiritual sleuthing Johnny was able to find a lead that brought him here, it seemed that in someway shape or form that this bar housed a killer or killers that were trying to tape into some dark magic.

John looked over at Hecate and chuckled. "Oh love, that depends on how much you are charging." He said, as a man in a suit walked up to the bar.

"Let's go." The man said. John got up, taking Hecate's arm as he did, and whispered something into her ear. The man was going to say something, but he was on a time limit and didn't want to piss the boss off.

He lead the two towards the basement, and once they entered, took the amulet from John. "Hey boy. How you holding up?" John asked Justin, who shrugged and chuckled. "Well on the bright side, I brought you something nice to look at while I talk to the dick heads." He tilted his head towards Hecate. Justin said something that sounded like a "hello" behind the duck tape.

"So, about you lots little demon sacrifice crap." John said as he looked at the men, who appeared to be doing something to the amulet. They were chanting something as one held the amulet, in what sounded like latin. At the end of it, they all stood there, waiting for something to happen.

"Why is this not working!" One man yelled, as the other three skin started to melt off, reveling their dog like demon forms.

"I agreed to bring the amulet, just not the magic." John said as the last man started to change as well.

"I'm going to rip your damn throat out!" The demon yelled.

"Yeah, just one thing, maybe you should have focused on the pretty lady instead of the cheap necklace." Constantine smiled as the demon turned, looking at her, and the duck tape in her hands.

"Tic tic toc, its only a matter of time. And when that stranger arrives," his eyes glowed, and he burst into green flames, "he's my Dark Passenger!" Dark Passenger said as he burts outta the chair.

"Well, looks the the playing field got a little more even." John said, then looked at Hecate. "We should probably start running." He said, then took off for the stairs. One of the demons jumped at them, but Dark Passenger grabbed his ankle and slammed him into the ground.

The bar tender turned into a large boat like demon after hearing the yelling from downstairs. When John ran into the room, he looked at the boar and then Hecate. "Welp, not a bad date huh?" He joked, and threw a fireball at the beast, while the customers were fleeing from the bar.

Hecate looked him over and smirked. "Mmm depends on what you've got to give," she teased, playing along for the moment. A man walked over and she raised her eyebrows a bit and leaned in closer to John, knowing not to give herself away.

John grasped Hecate's arm and she heard him whisper in her ear. "If he's got anything on his bloody mouth, get it off." She nodded, as she knew that unless the Dark Passenger could talk, there was no way in any of the realms he could access his powers. She followed them down to the basement and sighed as she saw Justin tied up and his mouth covered with duct tape. It was an interesting look for sure, and she had to keep herself from smirking in that moment.

"Hi! I'm Something Nice to Look at, pleased to meetcha!" She shuddered inward as she took on a fake bubbly tone, noticing that these people were not paying any mind to her at all. She walked over to Justin as she noticed them all fawn over John and whatever he had brought the two of them and leaned in to whisper to Justin's ear. "That's an interesting look for you. Though, I think you prefer being able to talk." She gently ran her fingers over the tape and frowned.

"Sorry, this is gonna hurt no matter what." She ripped the tape off as painlessly as she could, but there was no promise of it not hurting. She balled the tape in her hand and then turned to look at the demons as Constantine motioned to her. "Hiya!" She waved, tape in her hand, and stepped back and away as Justin transformed.

"Running, running sounds good." Hecate nodded as she went to follow John out of the basement and then paused as more demons appeared. "Well, not a bad date, but let's make this more even."

"I summon the power of HECATE!" With a flash, Hecate was in her full costume, and there was a sword in her hand. She cracked her neck a bit as she looked around the room and charged after the boar like demon that was now menacing the bar patrons. "Hey ugly, come fight me!"

While waiting for her drink, Light took a look over the bar. There were people all around the bar, doing various bar activities like sitting at tables or playing pool. Mostly in pairs, one pair being escorted to a back room by a man in a suit. Just when she was getting bored, her drink arriving, there was a commotion and a blur of movement as that pair from earlier burst out of the backroom they had entered, chased by... dog demons? Worse still, the bartender spelt her drink when he turned into a boar demon! Of course the normal people decided to scream and run out of the building at such a sight.

Before Light could moarn the loss of her drink and get revenge on the bartender for his... aggressive stance and pure lack of consideration for his patrons, he was hit in the face by a fireball! Light turned her head to glance at where the fireball came from, and saw a lady with a costume and sword charging at the bartender. "Man, its just not his day, huh?" Light said to herself as she backed away. She really wasn't much in a mood for fighting unless these demons gave her a reason to do so. putting her hand inside her trenchcoat and rummaging under her dress, she pulled out a bucket of popcorn. Finding a seat, she decided to watch the fight unfold. At least she didn't need to keep herself too well hidden with most of the other bar patrons having left the area.

Johnny had to hand it to them, whoever this group of people were they really knew how to stir things up in a hot second. One moment Johnny had been scanning over the crowd the next hell broke loose, quite literally it seemed. The man that was once serving the oh so lovely booze of the evening seemed to show his true colors which just happened to be those of a demon with just too much of a bacon theme going on for Johnny's liking. It didn't even seem like a moment later that a couple that Johnny had watched get lead into the back room came bursting back into the open like a pair of mad men, but to top that it seemed that they were a pair of magic users. "Great, this makes things easier." The breathing impaired fellow thought to himself with a figurative roll of his eyes.

Johnny considered taking a moment to think the situation over, from what he knew these two magic users could be the cultists that he was tracking and that this demon could be a magic spell of theirs gone wrong, but current situation given and the fact that the building was still brimming with bystanders Johnny decided to act. "Okay, lets get down to business." Johnny said aloud to himself before allowing himself to become visible and dropping down to ground level. The first thing he did was erect a decent sized barrier of energy that helped separate the evacuating citizens and the current chaos. The next he projected a copy of himself on the other side of the barrier that helped direct the citizens out while saying the helpful message of "If you would like to avoid ending up like me I recommend moving faster." With that done Johnny was able to turn his attention to the real problem, what ever the hell one would call this mess. "So anyone want to take responsibility for all you this you know, nonsense, or should I assume it is all of you?"

John threw another fireball at the boar demon, but stopped when he noticed the ghost appear outta nowhere. Also, he was a little distracted by the random citizen eating popcorn as a battle was happening. "Probably American." He muttered as he went back to helping Hecate with the boar.

"Hey, ghost buster!" Constantine yelled at Johnny as he moved away from a chair being thrown at them. "Any chance you can, I don't know, deal with popcorn popper over there?" He pointed at Light.

That's when a dog demon came flying into the room, with two more running out, as if chased. "Run run, as fast as you can!" Dark Passenger laughed as he walked into the room. He had a tentacle wrapped around the neck of a demon, tossing him towards the group.

The demons stood near each other, looking at the people in their bar. They were so close, all the sacrifices, now for nothing. "No one leaves this place alive!" The head dog yelled, and the demon ran towards the "heroes".

"The boar is mine." Dark Passenger said, running past the two demons, spearing the boar.

The two demons he had passed wasted no time in trying to cut open John and Hecate. One picked up a pool stick and tried to hit Johnny with it, while the last dog tossed a table at Light. The boss dog jumped behind the bar, grabbing the shotgun that was kept there. He then started to look for its shells as the others fought.

Hecate looked over at the person eating popcorn and raised an eyebrow. "I don't think they're American, but watching the fight with popcorn brought from... not sure where." She held her sword out in front of her and took a few more swings at the boar demon and looked around.

"To answer your question, Spirit from Beyond, the Demons are the culprits here, and my associates and I, if you can call them that, are trying to clean them up. I see you're helping getting the civilians out, good. Any other way you can help, maybe?" She was a bit surprised to see a fully corporal ghost there, but at that moment, the whole bar was chaos, and it only got more chaotic as Dark Passenger ran up the stairs, tossing a dog demon up the stairs.

"Nice to see you join us!" She waved her hand and her sword vanished, and was replaced with a short sword and shield. "If you really want the boar, be my guest!" She noticed one of the two demons tried to cut her open and then put the shield between her and that demon.

"I swear, I need to learn barrier magic..." She muttered as she saw a table go towards the Popcorn eating person. "Heads up, incoming table!" She held up her shield again as one of them tried to attack her again and she took the chance to put her sword through him. The demon squealed and she smirked at him, before moving up to kick him back off of her sword. "Anyone else?!"

This fight was a bit more boring than Light thought it would be. It was demons vs superheroes! Where was the fire? the flashes? Instead it was all just brawling. At least a ghost appearing out of what looked like nowhere was enough to keep Light's attention on the battle. Putting on an announcer voice, kind of halfway between a mans and her own voice, Light got up from her eat and dramatized. "And we have a newcommer! Casper the Homicidal ghost! Did he come from a haunted farm or fall down some stairs? How..." But it was around this point she was hit in the face with a table, one of the more ugly looking demons probably tired of her just standing around.

Brushing herself off after picking herself off the ground, Light said, her fake voice dropping for a moment. "Really? A table? Lame." Slashing the air with one of her hands, Light formed a black portal, an identical portal forming behind the dog demon who had thrown the table at her. Casually falling into her created portal, Light appeared behind the dog demon. She grabbed it in a big hug, snuggling (Or smothering) it. "THIS is how you annoy someone."

Of course, this had the effect of leaving her trenchcoat getup back where she had disappeared, so everyone could see her in her cute glory. Even if hugging a hellspawn dog wasn't something you'd put on a postcard.

Decades upon decades of being dead, wandering the world as a lost soul, dealing with every type of being from angels to demons, and saving a countless number of souls from eternal damnation yet here Johnny was dealing with probably the most horrendous type of challenge he has ever encountered... puns. Letting out an audible sigh Johnny was able to swallow back the brit's oh so creative nickname and focus on his sword brandishing female counter part. "Spirt from the beyond?" Magic users were always a bit theatric Johnny thought as he processed everything. If he was going to take their word for it seemed that these two spell-slingers and Johnny were on the same side and that these demons were the culprits he sought. It also looked like there was another player, or spectator would be a better word given her commentary, amongst them and she was... different to say the least.

Though all these thoughts raced through his head Johnny's attention was then grabbed by a hellhound looking fellow being launched from a back room and shortly after followed by quite the hot head who looked like he was enjoying this mayhem a bit too much. Luckily like before it seemed that this was another ally, if any of them could even be called that, of Johnny's for the time being. But as what seemed to becoming quite the pattern now Johnny's thoughts were interrupted by the chaos going on behind him, watching the popcorn muncher take a table to the face was nearly bad enough but when one of the demon dogs tried to take a swing at him with a pool cue Johnny was officially pulled into the action.

"Really, a pool cue? That is your go to when it comes to fighting a ghost?" Johnny said as he crossed his arms and allowed the pool cue to pass straight through his body. The demon clearly undeterred attempted a few more futile strikes against Johnny, again each merely passing through his phantom form, before Johnny had enough. "You're out of tries pal, better luck next time." Johnny said before extending his hand towards the demon and letting out a wave of energy that would send the demonic hound flying and hopefully crashing into his shotgun wielding comrade.

The demon being held by Light let out a howl as it tried to get away. The two fighting Hecate and Constantine were easily dispatched, and the one fighting Johnny was knocked out by the energy blast. It crashed into the boss, just as he aimed the shotgun at them. Dark Passenger finished his fight with the boar, dropping him on the bar before reaching around and grabbing a bottle, opening it for a drink.

"Alright Bonfire, you had your fun. Give control back to Justin." Constantine said as he looked at Dark Passenger.

"Oh come now John. I don't ever get time out. Let me have some fun." Dark Passenger said as he started to drink.

Constantine was preparing a spell, but stopped when Hecate walked up to Dark Passenger. The demon listens to what the woman had to say, before letting out a sigh.

"Somnus." Dark Passenger said, his flames dying down, returning to Justin.

Justin blinked and looked around, stopping when he saw Johnny and Light. "Hey there." He waved, his voice a little weak. "I need some water." He said and went behind the bar.

Constantine was working on a spell to drop the demons back to hell, looking at the crew. "I must say, you lot did better than I expected. I owe Raven ten dollars." He said and opened a portal, dropping the dog demons into hell, before rolling the boar. He looked at the head dog, then at Johnny. "Mind fetching me a chain? We need to get information outta this wanker." He said.

"What do you mean we worked better together than you expected?" Justin asked, before chugging more water.

"Worry about that later." Constantine said as he sat the demon dog in a chair, then started to wrap the chain around him, mutter a spell of some kind.

Hecate dispatched her demon rather quickly, and in the moment she looked around the room. The specter had taken out a demon using some kind of energy blast, a trick she'd have to ask him about later. The other... creature had latched on to the dog demon, and she paused. It was definitely something from another realm, maybe from the Void. She wasn't sure, and now was not the moment to have an interview with their two new friends. Well, less friends and more accomplices in dispatching demons.

Once almost all of them were gone, aside from the boss, Hecate dispelled her sword and shield. She was about to dispel herself when she heard Dark Passenger say he wasn't going to go away. She rolled her eyes and saw that Constantine was about to cast a spell. She held up her hand and walked over to Dark Passenger and set her hand on his shoulder. "If you behave now, I'll buy you drinks later. Justin can't sustain you right now."

She looked over at the specter and the Void creature and waved her hand. Her costume melted away, and Cassie was standing there, next to Justin. "Hello."

As Constantine spoke, she reached into her wallet and handed ten dollars to Constantine. "I'm going to murder Madame... She told me you were gonna need this. A bet? Really?" She sighed and pulled up a chair and plopped into it and rubbed her brows. "So, may I ask what you two are doing here?" She looked over at the Specter the Void creature.

The demon dog Light was 'snuggling' kept yapping and gasping as it was brought to unconsciousness. "Oh, guess I held on too tight and he passed out. Oh well." she said as she held the limp body of the unconscious dog aloft before tossing it to the ground.

"So..." Light began as the battle died down, the warrior lady looking at her funny. She went to pick up her partner, who had transformed into another being, taking off her costume. At least Light probably didn't need to fight these two, as even with their looks, they offered a hello just the same. "Oh, hello." Light said, cheerily waving at the others as they did some preparations to interrogate the bartender boar demon. Curious, the lady asked both Light and Mr. ghosty what they were doing here, as they both were obviously not human. Light's answer was simple "I'm just here to have fun.", though she was sure the ghosts answer was more complex. Ghosts tended to be drama queens.

"What about you two? You guys came in seeking a fight from the looks of it." Light said, grabbing a chair and hanging off the back of it, a wide toothy grin on her face that would give the Cheshire cat some competition.

Just as things were starting to heat up they fizzled out rather quickly, much to Johnny's pleasure. It seemed that this little rag tag group worked pretty well together seeing as the only real injuries that the undead hero could see were all given to the would be attackers that currently had their hellish canine backsides sprawled about the bar in varies stages of defeat. More importantly Johnny was glad that he was able to evacuate all of the bar goers in time with out any real harm to them, well most of them would probably be a little worse for wares in the mental department seeing as they were just escorted out of their favorite bar by a ghost.

All this aside Johnny was able to refocus on his fellow heroes of the evening. It seemed that in the aftermath of things business still had to be done seeing as rather than just banishing the lot of the hellspawn the brit was chaining one up in what Johnny could only be for a good old fashion interrogation. Likewise it seemed as the chaos ended the flaming skull fellow faded with it, changing into to a fellow who seemed to be in quite the thirsty state. Eventually his attention was grabbed by the female spell slinger who questioned why both he and this mysterious being were there. The creature's answer was pretty simple, which only raised more questions in the poltergeist's mind but he bit them back for now.

"Pretty simple honestly, I'm on a case. A number of people were found dead, sacrificed. I was tracking the killers and it lead me here, judging from the demon squad we just had the pleasure of dealing with I think I can say I am in the right place." Johnny said as he crossed his arms and looked the young lady over, he didn't quite want to let her and her counterpart out of his suspicions just quite yet. "And I'm going to have to agree with our hug centric companion and ask what you all are doing here, being in a demon party isn't really a good look for humans you know."

"Human?" Constantine asked and looked around. "I don't see any humans here." He chuckled. "I see a ghost," he pointed at Johnny, "a void being", he pointed at Light, "a gypsy" he pointed at Hecate, "and a demon." He said, looking at Justin.

"Really? I see a jackass." Justin smiled as he looked at Constantine.

"But, I also see a team. Which is why I owe Raven $10. The league has been having difficulty dealing with the magical world. And so, JLD was born. So, we want to take the freaks, the beast, the outcast, and the monsters, and make Titans Dark." Constantine said. "So, we did everything we could to get the four of you here, so that I could offer you lot the chance to be the opening team." He told them, pulling out a cigarette. "As you can see, you lot did pretty well. So, how about it? Tired of roaming around all alone?" He asked them.

The room was quiet, as everyone started to think about what he offered. Justin drank another glass of water, and was the first to speak up.

"Screw it, I'm in." He said. "We did do pretty well for ourselves." He smiled, looking at the others.

Cassie looked at both the void being and the ghost, as they both asked what they were doing there. "In answer to your question and to make a very long story short, my mentor told me to be here, as someone I had recently become acquainted with had been captured. This man over here." She gently gestured at Justin. "I have found that when my mentor reaches out to talk to me and tell me something, or to go do something to do it. I really hate fortune telling." She rubbed her brow a bit and then looked over at Constantine as he spoke.

"Technically, not a gypsy. Also they don't like that term. Also, still human." She rolled her eyes at Constantine, and went to lean against Justin a bit.

She let out a sigh as Constantine spoke and raised an eyebrow. She was thinking about what Constantine was offering and realized that she had been puppeted into this. She was going to have a long talk with Madam X later. She then started laughing for a moment, and then looked over at John.

"I get the feeling I never had the option to say no. I'm in." She said and looked at the void creature and the ghost. "I do hope you'll both consider it."

Light was a bit surprised at how some of these people knew she was from the Void. She figured it was her eyes that gave it away, but most guess Abyss or Netherworld, not Void. Heck most don't even know or understand the Void. Oh well, no use crying about it. Though the invite to join a team to fight demons and stuff sounded interesting. It was probably far more fun than just wandering aimlessly for starters. Unlike Mr. detective ghost, Light wasn't as concerned as to why these two were here. She just asked to be nice.

"Yeah sure. Though I'll warn you, I get hungry very often and I eat a lot." Light said, flashing her teeth in a playful menacing smile. "Just make sure things are fun. I'm not into being bored." Walking over and leaning on air near Johnny, Light said. "What about you detective Casper? Wanna have some fun? Sounds like things are really boring for you so far."

It's funny how quickly a situation can change, for the better or for worse. One moment you could be in the midst of peace then the next chaos floods the room only to yet again be replaced with the bitter sweet tranquility of the aftermath. "Bah." That was too profound of a thought to describe the shit show that this turned into. Johnny had to admit he had been through some bizarre things in his career, but this business offer was defiantly up there. A fortune teller predicting that he would be here and that he should join a band of fellow supernatural vigilantes, for a lack of a better word, did throw the specter for a bit of a loop, but considering what he and his cohorts just did Johnny should be a bit more open minded.

"A team huh?" The living impaired detective pondered aloud as he considered the offer. It wasn't that he was opposed of working with others, he had done so in the past but his former partners usually were lacking in the pulse department much like himself. He looked over the group for a moment, his attention eventually being drawn by the little imp of a creature leaning next to him. He couldn't help but crook a brow and let out a smirk. "Kid in my line of work, boring is the best thing you could hope for." He said with a slight smirk before looking back to the others. "I don't see why not to work together, worse things have happened. Oh and as flattering as the Casper nickname is my name is Johnny, Johnny Doe." Johnny said as he crossed his arms. It was true that Johnny couldn't think of a reason not to, well not enough reasons, likewise the best way to watch a group of powerful people and keep them from running amuck was to watch from the inside.
