"What? Too hot? Good thing you still don't have that shirt on, or those long pants. Or... whatever those foot things are." Kara offered him her hand. "I know, it's pretty bright. I'm guessing that human eyes don't adapt as quickly as dracon eyes do to the sun. It's not a long walk, so just come with me, please."

"Excellent. We've got warm running water and plenty of soap upstairs. There should also be some fresh changes of clothes which might fit you. You'll notice them easily enough; they're the white shirts and shorts. I'll see about washing your current clothing. In the meantime, you want something to eat? Just tell me what it is and I'll see if I can fix it for you. Whatever it is, it should be ready by the time you get downstairs" Aurescia told him.

"This is too much." Fasuto pointed out.

"Shush it." Ennave snarled. "He's uh, foxes are omnivores!" Ennave shouts, not the startling one, of course.

"Now, go get yourself a bath. I won't peek, I promise." Ennave said as she gave a spark to keep Fasuto moving.

Fasuto gritted his teeth. "Okay, okay. No sparks please, keeps my fur straight.. It hurts." He said and she nodded.

"Ma'am! I have my own clothes, don't need to bother!" Fasuto said aloud as he took the stairs and to the second level.

Fasuto walked a bit, trying to find the spare rooms.. he kept opening doors until he found a spare bedroom, he entered it as he closed the door behind him. Sighing heavily as he leaned at the door itself.

Fasuto looked at Ennave, then sighed again. Ennave giggled at his friend's actions. "You spotted the bathroom?" Fasuto asked his spider friend.

"I'll try to find it." She said as she crawled off his shoulder and slipped under the door.

Nodding his head and smiling softly towards her,"Sure thank you" He said looking at her stomach biting his lower lip. Taking her scaly hand finding it so good wrapping his smooth human hand around hers.

Midnight creeped over the city. Rughoi tensed, looking at the mighty but slowly crumbling walls of Traeton. Everything was in place exactly as he had been planning since the very beginning of his empire. Somehow, in the back of his head, he always felt like something was going to go wrong. Rughoi sighed, and stilled himself. The price of leadership, perhaps. As he raised the large horn to his mouth to signal the attack, he saw, to his annoyance, a sharp trembling in his claw. Where does this hesitation, this weakness, come from? Steeling himself, he raised it and blew on it with all his might. Hopefully Largon's men heard that.

Chaos erupted on the wall posts. The sound of screaming, the clatter of steel on steel, resonated throughout the city and into the surrounding desert. With a shout, Rughoi drew his sword from its place at his side, and pointed it towards the weakest point of the wall according to Kutur's analysis. Wordlessly and without hesitation, the kobold ranks under him began advancing on the wall. All the fear in him drained out, to be replaced with exultation. Such excitement!

Meanwhile, Ophion had replaced his robes with a fresh pair. He took over the store's operation for a little while, relieving Aurescia of her post while she saw to their guest. One of the customers was a brown-skinned kobold.

"Uh, hi there!" The little male kobold looked up at Ophion, who knelt down to speak to the little creature on a more even level.

"Hello. Do you need something?"

"Yes. How much arganite powder can this buy?" the kobold extended his hand to Ophion, and gave him a pouch. It was filled with gold coins, much to his surprise.

"Wha?! I... that would buy my entire supply, and then some. Do you work for a mining company or something? You could blow a hole in a cave the size a house with that much."

"Oh, no. My tribe gave me this cash to pay for explosives. I got here by a portal."

"I see. This is enough to cover the costs of an average kobold tribe for months. What could your tribe possib- wait a minute. These coins are fool's gold. What are you trying to-"

"-abort mission! Abort!" The kobold yelled into a little stone which had been crudely enchanted for the purposes of remote communication. A moment later, there was a flash and the kobold was gone.

"He left his 'gold' here" Ophion though, setting the false coins down on the counter.

Kara led him to a set of target dummies, each one shaped like a dracon. They were fairly standard, each one being made from the usual tan burlap material and stuffed with hay and straw. Kara stood next to Smith as she pointed at them. "Now's your chance to impress me. Let's see what you can do to one of these dummies. Don't worry about wrecking it; we can get more."

Ennave crept on the counter, to ask Ophion but she peeked to see the commotion was about.

"You get customers like these? You can hire Fasuto as a chaser or something. I'm here to ask about.. where's the bathroom?" She asked boldly. Ennave looked at the site where the kobold where was before. Shaking her head in disappointment.

"That was unusual, I'll say. The bathroom is on the far end of the hall, miss... Ennave, is it?" Ophion reached into a jar filled with insect parts and handed a couple to the spider. "Here, have a few on the house. Not like they cost me much anyway."

"Thank you, Sir Ophion." Ennave said as she took them and ate as fast as he gave her the food. "He's not comfortable being a guest and residing on someone else's house. Please understand him." Ennave said as she crept away, back to Fasuto.

"I'll keep that in mind, thanks. And no need to call me 'sir'. You and Fasuto can call me 'Ophion'. We're not ones to stand on titles around here." He went back to running the store, selling some more potions and scrolls to a handful of customers who had entered the shop.

Fasuto hummed as Ennave entered under the door.

Apparently, Fasuto have conjured a bag, where his clothes are stored neatly. It also have it's own towel and necessities. He's going to use those, not theirs.

"Far end of the hallway, Fasuto." Ennave said as Fasuto stood up and took those clothes and necessities he need.

"Thanks a lot Ennave, I'll do this real quick." He said as he opened the door and ventured outside.

Ennave was left there alone on her thoughts. She crawled to a corner near the bed and started making web, she needs it too.

Smith was gluping loudly feeling very nervous shaking his head,He could not use his own magic against dummies looking over towards a near by fox.Using his magic on the fox to make the fox think he was a dog running over toward Smith with Smith throwing a stick with it caughting it.

Battering rams and catapults made quick work of the section of wall, and the kobold legions surged through, to be met on the other side with an ensuing battle between Largon's men and the loyalists. With the reinforcements, the odds quickly turned on the loyalists, and the kobolds made quick work of them. Troops poured into the city streets, hacking and slashing away at the routing vestiges of the loyalist garrison. In a matter of hours, Mitron's Traeton lowered its banners, to be replaced by flags flying the colors of Rughoi's Xigyll.

Rughoi looked on in pride as the banners cut down Mitron's symbol. Already, the tribal dracons began smashing windows and looting stores. Rughoi shook his head. This will not do at all.

"Merat, give the command. No, wait. Turn on only the Red Shadows and the Rockblades. Perhaps that will teach them a lesson about greed," he said. Soon, the cheers turned into screams. The kobold elites, following the plan, turned their blades on their dracon comrades. Even with their size disadvantage, they quickly overwhelmed and apprehended chief Durak Rockblade and Orkal Redshadow. The rest were untouched. "We still need the rest of them for the next part of our campaign. Now send for the other generals. We need to talk about what to do with these poorly maintained walls."

Ophion continued to sell his wares for the next hour. It was getting close to closing time, although dracon businesses rarely had fixed working hours. If demand was high, the store would stay open, and if not, their species saw little wrong with closing up for the evening. Of course, Ophion also had a guest to see to, so he kept that in mind.

"Uh... did you just cast an illusion? It's nice, but how does that help in a fight, exactly?" Kara wondered. "I mean, I can think of some uses for misdirection, but if you need to damage an enemy, there's no substitute for just attacking it. My father said that. Can you use any magic on the dummies at all?"

At this point, only a small fraction of the city was under control of the invading army. The weakened section of wall had a breach, but it was only a small one. The king's armies fought on, but it was clear that they were outnumbered. Some of them began falling back to the royal quarter, but others kept fighting on. The battle might have been decided in favor of Rughoi's armies, but the kobolds attacking the tribal dracons drained the army on both ends of the candle, so to speak. The rockblades and redshadows soon became a third faction in the fight, struggling for survival and for loot.

Meanwhile, a secondary kobold force continued to advance through the city's catacombs. Contrasted to the city sewers, these tunnels were dry, dusty, and unusually dark. This was little impediment to the kobolds, who were used to living underground in any case. They found a weak point in an ancient brick wall which separated the city's catacombs and its sewers. It took almost an hour to demolish, but the wall fell under repeated sledgehammer blows. The sounds of battle were easy to hear, and the kobold reinforcements began to grow nervous when they heard the sound of dracons roaring in anger. A counterattack was underway.

Rama knew that the situation was precarious. His goal was to insert his force behind the lines of the city's defenders and attack them from the rear. Once the city's main force was defeated, they would have to pick off the remaining towers and pockets of resistance, ending with the city's well-defended palace. Traeton was short of manpower, but it was still well-built in spite of the neglect born from decades of misrule.

Smith was looking over towards Kara feeling very embarrassed form what just happened, He wanted to impress her but his magic would only work on living objects. "Well my magic only works on living creatures i can do more then this.." He said now using his magic to get the fox that was near him now going after another near by fox attacking it.

"Maybe you know how to use fire or lightning?" Kara suggested, gently taking his right arm and pointing it in the direction of the dummies. "Illusions are interesting, but we really need to walk before we can run, so to speak. Something simple and direct should do just fine."

Smith was blushing form the way she was holding his arm up and pointed towards the dummy, "I know a few other useful spells" Smith said muttering the spell name before long a long stream of lighting coming out of his hand burning the dummy to a crisp. "How was that" He said now looking over towards the Dracon female.

"Perfect!" Kara gave him a hug, briefly reaching over to give him a little back scratch with her claws. "Now, was that so hard? These dummies are made to be very fragile. No way could they stand up to a real amount of damage. Can you hit them and kick them? I don't suppose you can claw very well with those little nails. No offense."

Smith was blushing now form the hug as well as the scratching of his back, Letting out a cute sounding moan before quickly moving away form here. "Well i can try.." He said of course not offended by her second comment as he walked over towards the dummy. Getting ready before giving the dummy's head a strong kick knocking it of with ease but also exposing his buttock to Kara unintentionally.

Kara giggled. "You are so cute when you make that sound." She laughed again when she beheld his momentary wardrobe failure. "Oh, oh dear" she turned away for just a moment, seeing how embarrassed he was and giving him a chance to fix it. "Looks good, but I know you don't exactly go showing that off, Smith. G-good job on the dummy."
