1. No grossly overpowered chars: this is a big one. While yes, overpowered chars are technically allowed, this rule is more aimed towards the outright broken chars, omnipotent chars, and chars near the omnipotence level. Just remember, it's okay if your char can destroy a city, but it's not okay if your char can destroy small countries.

2. The gm is usually right: as gm, I may be called upon to settle things. But that does not mean I always have the best judgement. If my decision doesn't seem fair, feel free to let me know. As long as you have a valid reason, I may reconsider.

3. No immortal chars. Chars that are considered immortal are fine as long as they can be killed or at the very least incapacitated in some way.

New rules may be added, but it will only be to deal with any major problems.

Name: The Traveler, aka Travis

Age: 128

Appearance:

Powers:

[Rune Magic]
Travis' primary magical ability is the ability to cast magic in the form of runes. These runes are able to gather magic and form it into spells in the same way that arcane spellcasters are able to do. These runes lack any sentience and as such are merely tools, manifesting certain pre-set abilities in response to pre-set triggers. These spells are cast immediately, drawing on the rune's mana supply, and in a way specified upon the rune's creation. Sets of runes can be used together to form complex systems of triggers and spells for more advanced effects. In simple terms, the runes function as a sort of pre-written magical 'code'. In addition all runes are connected to Travis via a mental link, through which Travis is able to activate these runes as a conscious action. This activation costs him no 'mana', and can be done over any distance as long as Travis and the Rune are in the same dimension. Psionics users are able to disrupt this connection, but cannot activate the runes unless they are also able to exactly Mimic Travis' arcane 'signature'.

Creating a new rune takes at least 10 seconds of concentration, depending on the complexity of the rune. The amount of 'power' available to the rune is directly proportional to the size of the rune. In a system of runes, treat all runes as drawing from the same power supply, which is based on the total area covered in runes. As such, when using runes to enchant objects, the maximum power of the object is based on that object's surface area. Damaging a rune even slightly will cause it's effects to weaken significantly. Blasts of force become mere breezes, portals become shiny lights, etc. Taking a picture of a rune will create a copy with a similarly weakened effect. Runes can be created to be viewed in digital medium, however such runes will only be able to activate their effects when the rune is opened as an image on the computer screen, and must be created specifically for digital appearance. Another person copying the rune may create a functional copy only if they copy it to the most minute detail, and even then their lack of expertise in rune magic causes the copied rune to function at only 10% of the original power. The runes can manifest any power or magic that Travis is able to manifest, and often to a greater degree considering Travis' small natural pool of Mana.

[Pocket Dimension]
By focusing Travis is able to create small pocket dimensions, a process that takes approximately an hour and tires him out. During the creation of this pocket dimension he may also determine the physical qualities of this dimension. Qualities he can manipulate include size, gravity, temperature, relative time flow, and relative dimensions. After creation these qualities can still be manually altered, but doing so takes a minimum of 10 minutes depending on the size of the pocket dimension. Travis is able to connect to these pocket dimensions. He can create one-way or two-way portals of any size, as well as simply moving himself and any objects/people he is touching and wants to take along into the pocket dimension. Similarly he is able to move from his pocket dimension back into the dimension, and to move things from the pocket dimension into this dimension. He can even use this ability to move between dimensions, with a pit-stop in a pocket dimension. Permanent gates can be created with the use of Rune Magic, allowing for conventional travel to and from certain dimensions. Others with the ability to move between dimensions and knowledge of one of these pocket dimensions are able to move into them as if they were seperate dimensions as normal, although doing so without having actually been in the dimension is significantly more difficult.

[Telekinesis]
It's in the name. The power of this telekinesis is dependent on the Mana of the user, and in Travis' case is rather weak. However, his runes are able to use this telekinetic power to great effects. Typical effects include manipulating a 'golem' body in order to create warrior servants, and projecting bursts of force to launch away enemies who walk into one of his traps. It can also be used to project defensive walls, or even provide flight.

[Analyze]
The final power in Travis' repertoire allows him to sense and analyze objects in his environment. He is able to automatically sense all physical or ethereal objects that occupy space. He can further sense physical energy and how much physical energy is present, as well as a variety of details on the energy's behaviour. The details he's provided with depend on the amount of mana invested into the ability, and the degree to which he focuses on a particular area. Magic cannot be sensed using this ability, but magical constructs or magically controlled/altered physical energies can be. He might not be able to sense you gathering arcane energy, but he can certainly sense the fireball you throw at him. Information gathered through this ability by runes can be transmitted directly to Travis, and usually this ability is what is used to detect the 'trigger' for the rune.

Weaknesses:
Any alteration to the runes makes them practically useless. Damaging they're depicting on will quickly disable them.

Travis lacks much power without his runes. Without access to pre-prepared enchanted gear he's a fairly worthless fighter.

Many of Travis' abilities rely on dimension-hopping. Something like a dimensional lock prevents him from escaping or retrieving fancy gear from one of his pocket dimensions.

Bio:
A long time ago, Travis discovered his powers at a young age. While dreaming he managed to fall into his own imaginary world, having quite accidentally created a pocket dimension for himself. While he quickly discovered his ability to move through dimensions, he never managed to find his way back to his homeworld. As such he wandered from world to world, stealing what he needed to eat and rarely interfering in the affairs of the worlds he visited. He began to learn more and more about his gift, learning to use Rune Magic to apply a variety of effects and powers. Masting his abilities he became a powerful force in his own right, wielding his self-enchanted weaponry and leading his homemade golems into battle. Using this power he became less shy about interacting with worlds. He visited highly advanced worlds to learn about logic and coding, and ancient worlds to learn about magic, and the outer fringes of the multiverse to learn about the nature of reality from abstract concepts given life. Eventually he even learned to grant himself immortality, allowing him to extend his travels and learn much of this world. More and more he took an active part in the struggles he witnessed, leaving his mark on the many worlds that he's visited. But now he's wandering into a story that might just be the end of him.....

ame: Linus Carpenter

Appearance:

Age: 2000 years old.

Deity: Well...this is a bit complex. Linus was born not through normal human reproduction, or normal Human-Divine reproduction, but was rather born from the Spilled Blood of Yeshua bin Yosef (yes, him) when he was crucifed in Golgotha, and the tears of Mary Magdalene. This technically makes him the Grandson of God.

Magic:

Change Water to Wine (Custom Spell) - Wine, despite the bad rap it gets, is a natural disinfectant, and in an age where water is normally dirty and carries all manner of nasty diseases, the ability to turn water into wine means that you can turn even swamp water into something drinkable. H level.

Loaves and Fishes (Custom Spell) - Linus takes a piece of solid food and splits it into several parts; each part then grows to the size of the original piece, increasing the overall amount of solid food. This can be done as long as Linus has Mana. H level.

Divine Skills: (2 skills which you are supernaturally gifted in.)

Medicine

Carpentry, including the use of Hammers.

Equipment: (Mundane materials, like steel, have a higher maximum strength/speed level that they can be used with, but a lower magical power level. Natural items, like wood, have a higher magical power level, but a lower max strength/speed. For example, a steel sword would have a max strength use of G, but a max magic level of H. If you exceed this level, the item will be destroyed.)

- Pouch of Medicinal Herbs, most of them edible so as to work with Loaves and Fishes.
- Leather Carpentry Apron enchanted to withstand steel (Magic Level G)
- Hammer (Strength Level G)
- Wooden Sword (Magic Level G)
- Nails
- Five Loaves and Seven Dried Fishes
- Waterskin

Mundane skills:

Linguistics, Literate, Charisma, Fireworks Making.

Personality: Linus, being born from blood, tears, and earth, used to feel distant from humanity, but has grown to love them, due to his long centuries of experience. However, despite said long centuries, he still hasn't grown out of adolescent rebelliousness, and although loyal to his family and their cause, is a bit harsh towards their Earthly followers, with the Catholic Church, despite being his main allies, getting the brunt of his annoyance, due to their acquisition of money and power and certain...interpretations of the holy writings.

History/Bio: Linus was born, fully formed, clad in a white robe, some time after the burial of Yeshua bin Yosef, but his emergence into the world was overlooked because of the great events that happened some days later - at the same time that the Ressurection happened, Linus was already wandering upwards to Syria and Asia Minor, seeking answers to the question of his existence. Several years later, he reemerged in Greece, at the city of Corinth, where he was part of the fellowship of Priscilla and Aquilla in the early Christian Church, before leaving to wander east, towards Parthia/Persia and India, finally reaching China a century or two later, where he fought with Sun Quan and the Kingdoms of Shu and Wu in the Battle of Red Cliff.

He stayed in China for a few centuries more, then, after hearing rumors of what happened to his family's Church in Europe, raced back there, taking several decades to reach the region, where the Western Roman Empire had fallen and the East was in dire straits. Apparently, Judaism had split into three religions, each claiming to be the true voice of his Grandfather, and which were warring with Polytheists and Zororastrians and Machineans. Each of the religions had their own merits - and that's all he would say about that - but he was rather annoyed with the successors of Priscilla and Aquilla, the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, who despite praising Priscilla as a Saint, completely and utterly forgot that she was a female leader as well, one who held power over men even after 1 Timothy was written.

Swallowing his irritation at this, he put himself in the service of the Catholics, doing charitable jobs for the Church and fighting bandits, sometimes non-lethally, sometimes not; he wasn't his father. That said, though, another source of his anger were the rumors that his mother was a prostitute, but that was dealt with by a pact with the Church - they would stop spreading those rumors, in exchange, and this was also to keep the balance of power in Europe - he would bestow the Church's Holy Relics with the largest portion of his power, reducing him temporarily into the level of an Initiate-rank Demigod.

He still has doubts about that deal.

Name: Sherry, the Oni-Guard.
Age: 26
Appearance:

Powers
Regeneration- A trait common with trolls, Sherry is able to survive most any normal physical trauma, from loosing limbs, to being gutted, to being mashed. However, unlike other trolls, Sherry has managed to unlock an inner potential, his trollish body drawing upon greater powers than others. He's able to regrow limbs within ten seconds, where as other trolls could take near twenty minutes to regrow lost limbs. He is able to reattatched severed limbs via holding the severed limb to the stump. He can survive being decapitated as well, regrowing his head if need be. Only the largest part of him regrows at any given time, preventing him from splitting into many trolls. Regenerating wounds tire him, however, so given long enough, he will be unable to continue fighting. At this point, he will pass out, but continue to heal.

Oni-Guard Training- Sherry has been trained in a combination of martial art, and priestly magic during his travel to a lost kingdom. This training mirrors the training of the Sumo, leading Sherry to become large, yet agile, and exceptionally strong. He is able to lift well over several tons, picking up things like castle gates, and boulders with ease. He knows how to wield many types of mace, great hammers, and fist weapons, such as knuckle dusters, and cestus. He is able to maintain his mobility in heavy plate armor, and in heavy plate armor, is recorded for marching nearly ten hours, without rest. He has also learned many fighting techniques, most involving strikes, grabs, and moving oneself, and your foe.

Magic- Sherry knows only one spell, and two rituals.
Chi-Strike: The only spell in Sherry's book, this allows him to enhance his strikes with his natural energies, allowing him to strike at ethereal or incorporeal creatures, such as ghosts, or magi using a mist form spell.

Purifying Circle: Using salt, and some form of alcoholic substance, Sherry is able to create a circle that repels evil spirits, and undead creatures fueled by evil powers. This circle also helps the natural healing processes, increasing his own regenerative powers, and granting others a rather minor regenerative factor. This circle also weakens poisons, toxins, hexes, curses, diseases, and parasites within it.

Resonating Strike: Thrusting a palm into his enemy's chest, Sherry channels an echo of his own chi into his foe. To those who are balanced within, those without internal conflict, to those who are at peace with themselves, this merely tingles gently, a bell near a resonating sound. However, to those with discord within themselves, they find it a horrific experience, one trying of will power, and fortitude. Their flaws, their doubts, their conflict is brought forth in their mind, and put on display for both them, and Sherry. This can mentally cripple magi, and make warriors weak, and bring them to their knees. However, is Sherry uses this while he himself has discord within himself, it will also try on his will power, and bring it to the forefront of his mind. However, many times, he uses this to overcome that which has brought about disharmony within his soul, and other can do the same, should they find the will to overcome that which has brought up this disharmony.

Will of the Mountain: Even within the order of the Oni-Guard, a group of disciplined warriors, Sherry's will is nigh unmatched. Against most magic, he has an innate resistance that allows him to shrug off most mental affecting spells. A notable feat of this, when during a fit of absolute rage, Sherry walked though a gout of fire summoned by a pyromancer, unscathed. This fire was said to burn even the scales of a red dragon, a dragon said to be immune to the normal fires of the world.

Weaknesses
Fire & Acid: A trolls natural enemies, acid and fire deal wounds a troll cannot regenerate. Even Sherry cannot resist this, and weapons enchanted with fire, or acid, deal damage he cannot heal. However, for example, cutting off his hand with a acid knife would keep his hand from regrowing. However, if he then ripped that arm off, the whole arm would grow back, hand included.

Trusting: Sherry is quick to make friends, and is quick to go to the ends of the earth for them. Those with a manipulative streak will be able to get Sherry to stumble headlong into danger. While he will attempt to not preform evil actions, he may be deceived into doing so, which would cause him inner conflict.

Average Intellect: Sherry is smart for a troll, but that's only just average for a human. Those with far more intelligence than Sherry will find him a dullard that can be easily outwitted. He is clever, however, so do not expect this to be nigh crippling....

Bio: Shelly was born into a fantasy world much like that of Dungeon and Dragons. He was born to two parents, a rock troll, and a normal troll. His father was the rock troll, where as his mother was the female troll. This lead to him being slightly stronger than the average troll, but luckily without the inherit weakness to sunlight rock trolls have. His tribe, a group of trolls having taken over a motte and bailey, and having maintained their hold on it, had a ritual for young trolls.
This troll society decided that their young, in order to prevent their home from being flooded with the new population, must head out upon reaching adolescence, into the world. In order to return they must become strong enough to kill the current Chief and if they fail, they are killed. Most trolls headed North, South, and West, for to the east there was an expanse of desert that seemed to kill any who ventured though it. Shelly, when it was time for him to venture forth decided to test himself, and head east. He gathered up all the water skins he could, some preserved food, and a wagon that he pulled, and ventured forth.
For three years, he ventured though the dusty expanse, alone and struggling. He found a trail of oases that lead him further and further, until he came upon a sea within the very center of the barren desert. With a few changes, filling his currently empty water skins with air, he turned his wagon into a boat and sailed forwards. On the end of the third year, he found an island kingdom within the sea. This place had created the sea with powerful magic, that contained all of the water due to a magical spell cast to win a war long forgotten. In this place, he discovered a strange group of people fighting what seemed to be a dragon of some sort. After aiding these warriors, seeing the dragon as a great fight, he was in a way allowed into their society.
After seven years of training, he became an Oni-guard, a member of a group of warriors who take on the physical form of demons via specific training, and diets. Of course, he then felt strong enough to return home, and he had learned from them the ways of good. After traveling though the desert in a mere day, rather than three years as before, Sherry returned home.
However, he returned to find his home destroyed. He found only one survivor, a infant troll. A girl, who was badly hurt, an unknown poison leaking from the tear in her skin. Moving swiftly, he ventured home, where the girl was placed into intense medical care, but the poison turned out to be from a great and evil man. Known as the Ragged Man, he was a being held together with sickening stitches. He had plagued the world before, and this act revealed his return.
Now, seeking a cure to this poison, Sherry has thrown himself to the multiverse, finding a wizard willing to toss him on the cosmic winds so he may seek out a cure to this poison. So far, those he's asked have no way of curing the girl, but he is now determined to find the cure, and kill the Ragged Man. He will raise the girl, the last of his family, before rebuilding. But first he must do this, and he must do it quickly.
