I mean, I'm cool with it because I have a character who exists outwith forty posts of introductions and is doing stuff. I'm just worried that not much seems to be happening for the others.
I'm enjoying the slice of life stuff I did in introductions with Ana and Jack. Right now I'm loving cutesy old people remembering the good old days when they were soldiers while remaining a respectable distance from one another. My primary interest is finding somewhere for Genji to get some similar emotional scenes - breakfast chatting about the weather doesn't quite cut it. Plus, the faster he's out in the world, the faster real slice of life can happen with big brother Hanzo - a little "bromance-before-I-kill-you" :)
My characters are stagnating in Forks, Washington! It's like the Twilight Saga!
I'm glad though that Genji won't be missing out on much (except some weird ass touching). Right now I believe I'm looking for opportunities for him to make friends so that in future slow periods it's easier to find slice of life development, and the best way to do that is by fighting alongside... or against someone. Gonna send him to Carson City to help out the Overwatch agent he heard about stuck there!
He's actually missing out on an assignment that was going to introduce another character, and that has to do with not only a not so good character, but also has ties with Ana. This was going to open up the roleplay and give him that opportunity to create new connections, and allow there to be a new location to explore (Egypt); I also accounted for the fact that his brother would definitely be looking for him, and with all of Egypt being their playground for the time being, and with the characters involved (introduced, yet to be introduced and NPC) I was sure it was going to make for some interesting interactions and bonding moments for the both of them.
Now... as for this other matter; and I know I'm going to cop flack about this, but... enough... please... If every time someone posts about something medical we're going to have long and winded conversations about it, then what is the point..? I am getting sick of this. And no, this is not an attack on anyone, I am just saying exactly what is on my mind at this point, because it happens with every damn post and it's just beginning to get old. Now, I understand that we've all discussed that posts involving
OTHER PEOPLES characters are medically relevant, and as such, research into procedures and treatments is going to be a part of this roleplay; not to mention life-experience is also going to play a part in this. However, I am not going to sit here and read another twenty or so posts arguing about whether someone is arguing or not. I'm just not going to do it. If you're going to do that, take it to PM- I don't want to see it.
IF HOWEVER, you are going to have an intellectual discussion, much as adults do (and again, we're "adulting") then by all means, go ahead and converse here in the OOC, I will happily even join in on the action. I will not have anyone attacking another for their opinion in this roleplay; and I will not have anyone disrespecting, or making another person feel as though they are doing something wrong by speaking up with either a simple question, or a suggestion. Now, I have kept my mouth shut for quite some time; and I won't be doing that for much longer as I am getting tired. So, it's as simple as this:
THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU TYPE
This goes for everyone. I don't want to come in here, and every time I say something, have to write the words "this is not an attack" or need to write the words "I am just curious" for people to know that I'm not arguing with them. I'm sure we all understand that what we say effects other people, yes, but please do be mindful to keep that in the forefront of your thoughts while typing out a response to others in this roleplay. I want this to be a place where we can discuss things as rational adults, and actually have fun; not a place where we feel nervous to type something into the OOC because we're afraid it will be taken the wrong way, or where we're divided.
Now; I shouldn't have to say this, but this IS NOT an attack on anyone- it is simply me putting my foot down, and letting a warning out to everyone (INCLUDING MYSELF) before it ever gets to this point.
Now I do apologize to you all for having rambled the way that I have... so, I give to you, Angela's birds...
