Odell Fuchs

The thunderous roar as several mechs activated deafened the air. The 442nd began to form up as they trekked past the safety of Fort Beacon and into the countryside. Of course, this meant Odell needed to gather his team onto transports and follow. He pulled out his scroll and sent orders to the entire fireteam. "It's time to go. Rendezvous outside, near the VTOL. Can't miss it." Odell turned to Mikoto. "It's now or never. Time to go save the world, huh?" Odell walked past her as a bullhead touched down mere yards away. As soon as the last team member was aboard, it would be go time.

Bran Brass

Bran pushed back from the table still not saying a word. He was here to save people and try to show that Faunus could work with humans. He followed Mikoto out quietly, not really caring much for getting to know the team right now it was mostly Fang supporting Faunus here. He took another route to reach the landing pad, wanting to avoid the mech, he had bad memories of the clanking machines. Bran was one of the first to arrive at the bullhead, needle and thread in hand he was sewing what looked to be a velvet scarf in a darker shade of red that would pair well with his jacket and cloak to bring out his naturally red hair.

The swordsman kept his eye's focused on his needle work, the garment he been almost done before he started, finished that he reached into his pockets producing a sealed case. Opening it to reveal spools of rolled dust thread, opening a slot on his blade he inserted ice, earth, fire, and simple high tension thread to the line thrower at the base of the sword. Placing the blade on his back scarf around his neck as his cloak blew softly in the wind, the young man waited for take off feeling out of place here.

Mikoto followed Odell, looking over the leaving brigade. There was a knot in her stomach that has been growing ever since she talked with one of the pilots. They were young - younger than her even - and much less capable, and yet they hurled themselves at those monsters. Many of them wouldn't be returning regardless of what their support could do for them. There were too many mechs for the team to aid, and entirely too many grimm for them to face without serious losses, if the reports were to be believed. If only the White fang could be convinced to... If only. she sighed, boarding the VTOL.

She turned around, seeing one more of their number approach. "Mind the gap." She smiled, trying not to let her troubled thoughts show. It would do no good to spread the gloom. In fact, it would do no good to keep it while facing the grimm. She would have to clear her head or she will just become a target. Offering a hand, her eyes scanned the individual in front of her. Nice red eyes, handsome. Not wuite bright as mine, but... Ah, sometimes focusing your thoughts elsewhere was remarkably easy.

There was still no sign of Captain Odell or any members of his team. The waiting birthed a slow and increasing impatience. He contemplated whether he had chosen the wrong hangar. Looking around precariously, he hoped to find someone that could point him towards the correct location.

*Bleep Bleep, Bleep Bleep*

The scroll within Onyx's pocket alerted him to a delivered message. He rummaged around for a short period in his pocket before pulling out his scroll. Focusing his gaze towards the screen, he pressed his finger upon the 'read message' icon.

The message from Captain Odell read:
"It's time to go. Rendezvous outside, near the VTOL. Can't miss it."

Can't miss it. Onyx grunted.
Onyx slung his scroll back into his pocket. Captain Odell wasn't precise to the whereabouts of the rendezvous location. He would have to be hasty in order to catch up to his team at the VTOL outside- wherever this location outside would be.

With an expeditious stream of ideas, he made his way to the courtyard of the fort. Onyx stared up at the coned roof of the fort's bastion, he figured that gaining the high ground would help to find the rendezvous location. After he focused momentarily on the rooftop, his form suddenly faded into a grey smoke that evaporated seconds later. Grabbing onto the spire of the roof, Onyx examined the area around Fort Beacon. He soon found the VTOL that Captain Odell spoke of and saw the distant figures of his teammates around the VTOL.

He felt alive with adrenaline as he leapt off the rooftop. The force of the air ruffled his clothing vigorously and pulled back the hood from over his head. Onyx teleported once again before he hit the ground, and gracefully reappeared near the VTOL. The faint spirals of smoke drifted from his body until becoming unperceivable.

Onyx transitioned his line of sight towards his teammates around him before stopping his eyes at Captain Odell. He pulled the hood back over his head to hide his unkempt bush-like hair. An apology about his earlier behaviour found it's way into his conscious. Although he wouldn't have the nerve to apologise in public. He felt it would scorn his pride, make him feel weak and submissive; that wasn't something he could afford to feel. Instead, he turned away from Captain Odell and positioned himself at a more suitable distance as he waited for others to arrive.

Basil Plagas

Basil smirked under his mask and his hand reached out for his crow , beginning to stroke it as he spoke "Well perhaps we could arrange a price for this fellows head? Perhaps , theoretically of course considering we are in a highly militarised fortress, you could pay extra for him to...disappear? Or to have him brought to you personally ? But let's discuss this after we fight the hordes of monsters outside our city ,hm? Assuming we aren't killed of course " he said , before turning and making his way to the VTOL.

As he arrived at the VTOL he glanced at Odell "So before we continue our operation, what are we exactly doing? I understand the killing Grimm part but outside of that ...what is our exact mission? A location perhaps?" The faunus asked the soldier.

Odell Fuchs

"You didn't listen at all back there huh?" Odell wasn't too surprised. There was always that one guy anyway... "We're headed to Mountain Glenn, as I said in the briefing." The VTOL began to take off, following the armored company at a rapid pace. The first few miles inland would be uneventful for the most part, as scouts already confirmed there was no grimm activity near Beacon.

There was little contact with the Grimm until the mountains grew quite visible. A sizable horde Grimm started to move towards the armored mechs, so this was their time to play support. The VTOL touched off near the armored mechs, dropping the team off and flying back to Beacon to refuel.

"Alright. Just make sure the Grimm don't get close enough to the mechs to cause trouble. The mechs will lay down covering fire, but don't expect them to save you in a pinch. If anything, they're more likely to blow you away along with the Grimm if it comes to that." Odell then ran towards the front of the armored formation, readying his battleax for first contact. The horde was mixed with various types of grimm- Ursa and Beowulfs made up the frontline, while some death stalkers trailed behind. It was almost as if they knew the mechs would blow up the Death Stalkers if they got into range.

Despite the constant suppressive fire the mechs laid down, grimm were managing to dangerously close to the mechs. If they got too close, it would be over in a matter of minutes.

A Beowulf attempted to leap over Odell, probably hoping to ignore him and attack the armored division. Unfortuantely for the Grimm, Odell grabbed it by the leg, slammed it to the ground, and swiftly brought his axe down on the Beowulf. First Blood went to him. Well, if he didn't count the mech pilots of course.

As Odell began slicing through multiple grimm, he wondered how the others would hold up. This would be a trial by fire..

Bran Brass

Bran remained quiet, though he caught the bird Faunus staring at him as they were flown in towards the battle. Calmly he stood up, the sound off a sharpening tool hidden within his scabbard let them know he was drawing out his blade as they near the drop zone. "I'll be on the left flank, rest of you worrying about the right. I'll radio if I'm in trouble." He answered, not at all fazed by the Grimm horde or the sounds of violence. "Don't die." He added hopping out, his aura glowing as wrapped the scarf up and around his face and neck breaking into seven sword wielding men.

Two of his clones broke away from the pack as Bran put his comm in his ear radioing the mechs. "Mech line, I'll be setting up traps thirty meters ahead. Don't trip them, or else you'll be a sitting duck." He spoke, as the five swordsman took position ten meters ahead of the line, so far no Grimm had gotten through. Those that limped forwards were a quick stab from death not really a kill. However further ahead the other two clones had taken dust threads and begun setting tripwires, some were simple dust threads meant to delay while others were tether to dust crystals that would explode and kill Grimm.

After they had run out of threads and crystals, the two retreated back towards the line. Seven swordsman waited for the Grimm to break through the traps, then they would have show their skills in battle.

Mikoto - Up and above

"I'll take the high ground." Mikoto said as the VTOL lifted off to fly back to Beacon. In their way here she was glued to the available windows, spotting where she could do most good. No matter how she looked it, she would do pathetic little sticking close to the Mechs. She needed to get out there and run interference for them, break the Grimm charge before it even got close. And as she saw, the grimm didn't have many of the flying variety among their ranks.

"Show time." she said, banging the door to the cockpit to let the pilots know this was her stop. The side door started opening and a moment later, the green light blinked on. "Ma'am! Take a chute!" One of the pilots boomed in the headset in fright as she stood with her back pointed to the outside. Mikoto smirked at him sweetly, gave them a wave and tipped over, gently falling out of the craft with the sound of unfolding wings.

She giggled as she felt the air rushing around her, tossing her mane about and it's gentle rub on her wings. Arching and tilting slightly she adjusted her course form a fall to a glide and reached for her belt, unsheathing Regalia and starting to pour her aura into the dust infused blade. She wished for a moment that her eyes come with a zoom, but she was out of luck. Still having too much altitude to single out big threats, she focused on the largest blob of black and white on the ground and swung the dagger in a wide arc. Dozens upon dozens of burning quills formed around her and started raining down on the grimm, some exploding and some setting furs on fire.
