Name: Bill Atlas
Nicknames: White Lightning, Atlas Squire
Team Position: Team Leader - Skirmisher
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Year at Ace Academy: 2nd Year
Appearance:

A male around standard height, and build Bill has dark brown hair, and hazel eyes. He usually wears a black coat, and white t-shirt with a pair of baggy pants. His hair is short cut, and usually well kept. He is not a very muscular individual only training to be properly able to pilot his suit. As such he is rather skinny but and pale. His skin tone white Caucasian and his ethnicity is that as well.

-
Personality:

Bill is a kind hearted young man with a respectable attitude towards others, and more often than not well spoken. He tends not to lean towards cruder language but does occasionally say harsher words towards others. He is professional, and well intentional when it comes to both piloting, and talking with others. Bill finds it easier to express himself through gear combat than actual words however and finds it easier to understand people through that. Bill often finds himself wondering if he could be a better pilot, or even a better person if he could just change a little bit more. He pushes himself in studies, and in training to reflect on the fact that he has a legacy to live up to.

He doesn't enjoy traveling, and prefers to stick to one place and stay there if he can. He also prefers playing video games to going to parties, or dancing. He refuses to drink, or smoke believing it would hamper his performance, and his own life. When it comes to friends however he is honest, and quickly ready to point out a flawed argument towards them as he views it as a personal point to help people better themselves if possible. Though he understands if his own advice is unwanted.

As a pilot however his personality changes quite a bit. Almost in recreation of his cousin's style he acts, and fights with hot blooded ferocity. Though this is mostly just a front he doesn't feel especially intense and uses it to either make his opponents demoralized, or misunderstand just what his actual fighting style entails. This essentially makes it a facade of his cousin's, and his grand father's before even him. In reality Bill lives off his adrenaline rush, and uses it to push through his enemies. However he is always respectful towards them, even if they are hostile to him in return.

Biography:

Born in America too a family with a lot of history regarding the gears young Bill was singled out to have a fantastic career when he grew up. His earlier life was simple as he spent most of it like any other kid, except with a lot more giant robot fights, and usually was left in the care of nannies, or other caretakers as his parents worked long hours, and were often busy. His family line of Atlas is star studded to say the least having members leading back to the older days of robotics, and cenorobotics. Though Bill himself cared very little for the subject initially as he had grown used to simply being around such creations. His father would often tutor him on aspects of robot design at Bill's own request when he was a kid which exposed him to many types of various machines from an earlier age.

Though Bill hadn't thought about it much he soon became more and more disinterested with Cenorobotics and figured it would be best not to live up to his parents' expectations of him joining in on the family career as they already had many family members in the business and Bill wanted to do something else entirely. Bill usually spent time around others, and making new friends when he could though he was not especially charismatic he was a honest sort, and well liked for his kindness towards others. He was a boy of few words to say the least however as he preferred to get directly to the point of things when he could.

Bill's teenage years from middle school and outward would be a time of change for him as he spent more, and more time trying to learn how to play music, and code computers to little success. However his soon to be famous cousin known as 'Black Thunder' by his friends was Jaden Atlas more often called Jack by some friends than his real name. Jaden influenced Bill with his larger than life charismatic stature, and posturing and his ability to simply beat people with unbelievable ease. Jaden was Bill's older cousin by five years, and when figured since Bill was having issues trying to find something he enjoyed in life he would tutor him himself. Jaden would not accept no for an answer and more or less forced Bill into Gear Piloting despite retorts from Bill's own friends. Jaden sparked a competitive streak in Bill he hadn't known existed after mercilessly beating him in simulators over and over again.

Bill had had enough of being beaten and quickly decided that if he couldn't beat his cousin than he didn't deserve to be called an Atlas. Bill devoted himself to learning his cousin's style which turned out to have a profoundly strong impact on Bill's own style as he got use to fighting in his cousin's own melee combat style than trying to flesh out his own style. Eventually Jaden himself would stop spending as much time with Bill as he use to but would continue to teach Bill who himself entered high school and began competing in junior league tournaments with the backing of Hyperion due to Jaden's meddling. Jaden would go onto be a nearly household name in the competitive world of Gear Battling for his manic persona of a hot blooded warrior eventually dubbing himself Sir Atlas along with his old title.

Bill would eventually go onto win a junior league championship before graduating high school. He spent a lot of time earning his keep in the house by taking on jobs with his father. However his father was convinced that Bill had talent and that he could best be put to use learning in Japan. Bill was sent to Japan to live on his own with the financial aid of his father initially in his first year at Isokaze's Ace Academy. Though Bill fought hard, and struggled a lot he did not make a strong initial impression on some students due to his western fighting style. However the famed team Celestial Star had picked him up soon enough and smoothed out some of his rougher habits. Though he did play back-up to many of his fellow classmates.

After coming in 7th place in the school last year Jaden sent Bill his own machine...to be exact the same one he used in the pro-leagues. The machine called Masurao. Hyperion offered to back Bill for the machine but Celestial Star was backed by Yan Industries their manager, a 3rd year named Chao Jun who has been supporting the team for years while other sponsors backed out due to the teams changing. Bill accepted their help in exchange for the right to keep Masurao from Jaden. Now with the new year running about and many teams forming with members lacking of his older team Bill intends to keep the team together with his friend Yasumi Masu as they attempt to win the prestige back from their striking defeat last year.

Combat Section:

Strengths:
-Highly adaptive,
- quick reflexes,
- heavy specialized training in melee combat which he gained by being trained by a professional gear pilot.

Weaknesses:
-Style reminiscent of his trainer leads to overly specialized melee preference with very little skill for long range.
-Poor nerves (when someone can hold off his style of combat, or hold him to a standstill he panics if pressured).
-Tense Focus (despite his skill he tends to focus on the enemy in front of him. A problem he hopes to rectify later.)

Neutral Values: Mid Range Combat, and support roles.

Weapon(s):
The Masurao's primary armaments are a pair of powerful hybrid Sabers, a pair of hybrid weapons that are usually standard kinetic style weapons but have the option to switch into an energy mode, they are modeled after the Japanese daishō. It carries one in each hand, and stores them on a rack on the underside of its hip armor.

Energy Sub Machine Guns
Mounted on the Masurao's head are a pair of small-bore laser machine guns. They are not particle beams, but lasers with lesser destructive capability with decent accuracy and speed. It is used for occasions when one can actually manage to hold off Masurao's primary weapons.

Sara "Rabbit" Hayakawa

Team Position: Skirmisher
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Year at Ace Academy: 2nd Year
Appearance:
Standing in a 5'2"(157cm) and weighing in at approximately 120lbs, Sara is easily the smallest one on the team. Her face is pale and round, and she has clear, clean skin, with a pair of round, pouty lips and a button nose. Her eyes are a light green, and her bright pink hair is in a bob, though is typically kept out of her face with a clip when she's piloting. Her frame is small, but lithe and its clear she keeps in shape. She keeps up with fashion trends, and often wears clothes from sponsors.

Personality:
A bit of a wallflower, Sara is in general fairly quiet and soft spoken, preferring to stay in the background, though she tends to be more playful and outgoing around her friends. Highly intelligent and perceptive, Sara has an eye for detail and can notice things others miss, and can be surprisingly insightful. Friendly and amicable, Sara's demeanor is generally cheerful, and though she is quiet, she is neither meek nor timid, and her displays of anger and determination can be surprising.

Biography:
The oldest of two, Sara was born to a rather poor family. The daughter of an auto-shop mechanic and a nurse, Sara and her brother Sam spent most of their childhood without their parents- not because of lack of love or care- quite the opposite in fact, but their father often came home exhausted, and their mother worked the night shift at the local hospital almost more than she worked the day shift. Sara was discovered to be quite brilliant at a young age, and with her wallflower tendencies, she tended to go by unnoticed, while her brother often got into scraps in the school yard.

While in high school, Sara and her brother got part time jobs at their father's auto-shop learning the ins and outs of machinery and vehicles while they progressed through school. The auto-shop worked primarily on cars, though other vehicles like GEARs weren't an uncommon sight. Both siblings showed an aptitude for this- though it was notable that Sara had much more fun driving the vehicles than actually fixing them, and occasionally got in trouble for taking fixed cars out for joyrides- her brother in tow and covering for her in the off chance they got caught.

Joyriding with GEARs was a bit more difficult, and though Sara and her brother both expressed an interest in GEARs, they never got the chance to drive one until their father bought a GEAR to do lifting and loading work around the auto-shop. Immediately falling in love with the machine, Sara convinced her father to teach her how to use it, and by the time her senior year of high school rolled around, she was the one in the shop teaching other mechanics how to use it.

A local talent scout spotted her one day while he was getting one of his teams' GEARs fixed, and offered her a chance to prove herself. Going to a private facility, Sara took a GEAR through its paces and thoroughly impressed the talent scout, who in turn linked her up to several GEAR developers. Sara graduated her local highschool with a scholarship for the esteemed ACE Academy, and was immediately picked up by sponsors during her first year. During her first year of school at ACE Academy, Sara was largely out of the competitive scene, preferring to watch from the sidelines, instead she worked jobs for various manufacturers, testing out new models of GEARs before they went on the market.

Currently sponsored by Lockheed Martin Aerospace, and Heckler and Koch subsidiary: Coaxed Arms, Sara, at the coercion of her brother, an engineering student at ACE Academy, has decided to enter the competitive scene. She joined up with Celestial Star, a team actively looking for new members.

Combat Section

Strengths:
Sara is quick witted, with a quick reaction time and excellent spacial awareness, allowing her to weave through combat with ease. She primarily engages in close to medium close range, using a combination of melee weapons and firearms. As a test pilot for many major companies prior to her joining the competitive scene, she has extensive knowledge on a wide variety of GEAR models, likely having tested prototypes of them at one point.
Weaknesses:
Her aim isn't poor, but the nature of her machine and her equipment makes her less viable past mid-ranged combat. She also has a tendency to push her machine extremely hard, leading to longer downtime as it undergoes repairs. She doesn't like shot-calling, and relies on others for decision making.
Neutral Values:
GEAR maintenance and tuning.

Gear Section:

Gear Designation: Lockheed Martin Aerospace. V-A143 'Valkyrie II' Custom
The Valkyrie II is a high performance GEAR designed by the American based company Lockheed Martin. Developed for combat use on futuristic battlefields, the Valkyrie series GEAR is designed as a replacement for the aging Einherjar series of GEAR. An excellent, well rounded machine with low development and operational cost, the Valkyrie series, unlike the more expensive Einherjar is meant to combine combat efficiency as well as affordability.

While the Valkyrie was designed for general purpose use, and can adapt to various environments by using various equipment setups, the Valkyrie II was developed to be lighter, and more agile, with higher top speeds and unparalleled maneuverability. Unlike the baseline Valkyrie, the Valkyrie II sports thrusters on its back, as well as feet, knees, shoulders, and ankles, with mirco thrusters popping out of the sides of its legs and forearms, allowing it to turn on a dime. To protect its pilot, the Valkyrie II uses a G-Cockpit, specially designed to absorb G-Forces and maintain equilibrium during high G maneuvers. As a result, the Valkyrie II is considerably less armored than the Valkyrie, and relies on shields and maneuverability to make up the difference. The Valkyrie II is also considerably more expensive than the baseline Valkyrie, and has only just left the testing phase.

Sara's sponsored Valkyrie II is primarily painted white, with a few purple accents on it. The legs are black and often have the logos of various sponsors on them.

Nicknames: White Hare

Weapon(s):

On the left arm of the Valkyrie is an EMP Claw- attached to a spool of cable on the Valkyrie's left forearm, the claw can be launched with the intention of grappling to a GEAR's leg or arm to temporarily immobilize it, either setting up teammates, or Sara herself for a finishing blow. The outer edges of the claw also act as energy projectors, allowing the claw to be used as a melee weapon in a pinch.

Name: Rio Hamasaki
Nicknames: N/A
Team Position: Assault/Supporting fire
Age: 21
Gender:
Year at Ace Academy: 2nd Year
Appearance: Rio is a tall and slender woman, standing at a proud 1m86. She usually wears a bit of lipstick and eyeshadow, but doesn't touch other make-up. Her face is thin and sports small features, making her eyes and mouth seem further apart than they really are. She has ruby eyes. Her hair is long, minty geen but usually tied up into a ponytail which reaches 3/4ths down her back. Even when not in uniform, Rio prefers to dress formally so you'll usually see her sporting a suit of some renown.

Personality: Rio's a bit stuck up and snobbish, looking down on everyone but only letting it show ever so slightly. That's not to say she's heartless, you can certainly get a good conversation going with her if she lets you, but Rio's not the type to easily hand out compliments.

Biography: Born in the Hamasaki family, Rio wasn't missing much when she grew up. The Hamasaki's built their legacy on selling high-quality electronics and eventually got into the Gear business, making quite a bit of revenue come their way. This lead to the classic case of 'Rich Kid Syndrome' for Rio, as she was enlisted in some of the most expensive academies Japan had to offer. She was constantly pressured into studying, leaving her a bit of a loner up until the later years of her highschool life where she formed a small clique of friends. Rio never really had a boyfriend, which pains her enormously because every guy she's ever had a crush on either rejected her or were already together with someone else. They also tended to all be interested in Gears, so she herself decided to dabble into it as well.

Much to her parents' dismay, this caused Rio to choose to become a Gear pilot rather than inherit their business, but she figured they could shove that responsibility on her two years younger brother. She's kind of stuck down this path, too, as she actively lashed out against her parents to let her do this.

She was enlisted in Ace and soon was faced with the harsh reality that there were, in fact, people that were better at this whole piloting thing than she was. She repeatedly got crushed in combat, and it frustrated her at the time, but she at least humbled up a bit and stopped being a stuck-up bitch to everyone. One of these crushing encounters was against Bill Atlas - now her team leader - in which he delivered swift justice with his fast melee style. Rio learned that, even though she is a ranged combatant, she can still let melee gears slip through if she lets her guard down. It doesn't prevent her from holding a grudge about it, though. The studies were much harder than she expected, too; while she'd been breezing through much of her schooling up to that point, she had troubles keeping up with Ace Academy. Now she's going to try and prove herself this year after barely scraping by last year. She's not going to be the problem child of the Hamasaki's!

Combat Section

Strengths: She's a calm thinker and is quick to adapt when things go south. Great at thinking up both short-term and long-term strategies when the situation calls for it. She isn't the greatest at mid-range, but she performs above average if nothing else due to a steady aim.

Weaknesses: Arrogance leads to overconfidence, so she can bit off more than she can chew sometimes. She doesn't like being ordered around, especially when it goes against what she personally thinks is 'best'. Despite having good theoretical skills, she can flake when putting it in practice. She's not great in the short range either, mostly due to having little experience with gears that come up close.

Neutral Values: Long-range combat and support roles.

Other: N/A

Gear Designation: Hamasaki Manufact. Customized Model 43CHUTE

Nickname: Union

Weapon(s):
Union is equipped with a Kinetic rifle that fires automatic rounds. The clip is reloaded as it fires, but can't go on endlessly. A set amount of bullets are loaded in, and if Rio continuously fires she'll end up depleting her clip before it can catch up. They're meant to pierce armor, but deal less damage to the gears themselves. This is a weapon meant for softening up the foe rather than outright killing them.

Union is also loaded with a couple of energy grenades (4 per combat) that, similarly, don't do much to damage the foe but rather pierce through shields. Unfortunately, this is a rather slow way to punch through their defenses and is more used for forcing the enemy to move.

The last of Union's weapons is a short range energy dagger. It's not meant to fight a melee Gear head-on, but serves as a last line of defense in case the enemy comes close. Unlike the previous two weapons, this one is designed to deal extreme damage on contact, but is hard to hit due to being so short.

Name:

Ian Laudat

Nicknames: He's been called lazyass more than a few times. Otherwise folks just call him Ian.
Team Position: Sniper
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Year at Ace Academy: 2
Appearance:

-
Personality:

To call Ian lazy would be an insult to lazy people everywhere. Despite sleeping pretty constantly, he seems to always be tired. He's pretty friendly, even if someone were to wake him up he'd put on a smile and at least make an attempt at staying conscious...perhaps not very successfully. Despite his demeanor, he is no idiot. He has often angered teachers and students alike by being able to answer their questions immediately after waking.

Even with his apparent intelligence, he still falls behind when it comes to homework and other projects if he doesn't have someone to make him work on it. Tests and classwork though, those are child's play.

Biography:

Ian was born in the state of Tennessee in the US. Despite this, his southern accent is pretty negligible. Because his family was far from poor, he was never left wanting. His father did contract work for various Weapons companies. While it was mostly minor software work, it still pulled in quite a bit of money.

Ian was always mocked by others for having no motivation. Being held back one year of Middle school due to a teacher grading students on their attentiveness, though he didn't seem to mind much. Being a year older than others in his grade would have normally led to at least some teasing, but many students seemed to have some kind of innate fear of him. Rumors spread that he was always so tired because he was doing terrible things at night. This of course wasn't true, but kids have a way with imaginations. It wasn't until early High school that people started warming up to him, some of them asking for help on assignments when they could keep him awake.

As he grew older he grew interested in GEARs and even managed to convince his parents to buy him one to work with. It was a less expensive mech, but it was far from cheaply built. Ian finally finding something to put his limited energy into convinced his father to call in a few favors to get a hold of an experimental weapon. The weapon in question was a rail-powered rifle that Ian had seen in one of his father's files. It had already entered the testing phase, and within a few years would probably hit the market.

On a whim, his moderately wealthy parents sent him to Japan in an attempt to force him to move past his laziness. Being in such an unfamiliar environment would probably shock him into at least putting in some genuine effort. Despite their plan, he never shook off his lethargic nature, but he did manage to get into a good school. Him making it into Ace Academy at all was nothing short of a surprise, let alone him becoming a pilot. While he was pretty abysmal at close quarters combat, he excelled at ranged combat due to his patient and calm demeanor.

His parents were so enthusiastic about his admittance that they sent the GEAR that he had customized over the past few years. It was one of the few things he seemed to actively care about back in the states. Upon its arrival he performed the usual checks on the weapons and such. Of course once that was done he had to find a team. It would be good to use it for something other than a test run. The only team that really caught his eye however, was Celestial Star.

-

Combat Section (if applicable strengths, and weaknesses should even out remember personality traits aren't necessarily hindrances in combat.):
Strengths:

Ian has excellent aim, and given his patience has proven to excel when it comes to long range engagements. So long as his allies can keep the opponents away from him he can usually pick them off. His thrusters also allow him to quickly get out of most enemies's range.

His GEAR has been modified for specialized long range combat. Due to these modifications it is almost unparalleled in most long range confrontations.

While conscious, his battlefield awareness is fairly impressive. He can usually keep his team well informed of what's going on while he keeps an eye on things from a distance.

Weaknesses:

Of course that specialization also comes at a hefty cost. Enemies that manage to close the distance or corner the Gunslinger can generally depower it with little to no effort.

Short range combat is a pretty glaring weakness for Ian, so much so that he forfeited his close quarters weapons for better mobility.

Given his armor's poor quality, once his shields are down it takes little to no time to depower.

While he can usually keep himself awake in a battle, if he thinks his team has things under control it isn't unheard of for him to fall asleep. He keeps an alarm in his GEAR for such a purpose, but the time it takes to rouse himself fully could be the difference between victory and defeat.

Neutral Values: Medium range combat. Coordinated assaults. Drawn out firefights.

Other: (For anything I may have missed.)
===

Gear Section:

Gear Designation: Boeing IR34-Slingshot

Despite Ian's Slingshot's current use, the name was actually more of a reference to the GEAR's booster system than anything else. The thrusters operate on a heavier boost instead of a controlled one. This allows the GEAR to disengage quickly and outpace all but the swiftest of GEARs. Despite the advanced thrusters and light frame the Slingshot isn't in very high demand. The low demand for the GEAR made the price quite reasonable as it isn't meant for direct combat.

Nicknames: Gunslinger

The nickname came after a few modifications...like weapons systems. The original model seemed to be more of an unarmed scout than a combat GEAR. In wargames it would likely be used to keep an eye on the enemy or provide swift distractions, but Ian had it refitted for combat, at the expense of his parents. The experimental rifle it was outfitted with seems pretty normal aside from its triple charge system. Most rail-powered weapons require a few moments' charge for each shot fired, but this one is able to hold three charges before requiring another charge. This ups his damage output quite a bit, usually allowing Ian to engage most rail rifle users with relative ease. It draws a fair bit of power, but thankfully most fights don't push it too far.

Weapon(s): Tri-charge Rail rifle.

“Don’t you dare abuse Mama’s precious mechbabies.”

Name: Watanabe Junko
Team Position: Engineer
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Year at Ace Academy: 1st Year

Appearance:

So Junko’s the typical grease monkey, meaning that she’ll likely be seen wearing some sort of jumpsuit or the ever popular white tank top/cargo pants combo that nearly every mechanic seems to own. Grease and oil stains are required and will be applied quite liberally to whatever outfit she’s in, seemingly regardless if she’s been tinkering with the GEARs or not. Oil smudges on her face will occur frequently and indiscriminately. And while not always sporting a fully equipped toolbelt, she’ll usually always have a wrench within reach. While that may seem a bit obsessive, in her defense, wrenches are handy.

Of course, that also describes most of the GEARheads in a place with a much higher than average number of ‘em. So, in hindsight, not exactly helpful information. Huh.

How about we move on to more personal characteristics? Junko’s roughly about 165cm/5’4” tall, which puts her at just above average height for women in her country, a point of pride for the girl. Or, at least, it used to be. Back before she joined a team of actual giants. DAMN YOU, HAMASAKI! She’s got a boyish figure: small bust, narrow hips, poorly defined waist. Thanks genetics!

Junko’s auburn hair reaches about the middle of her back when worn down, but she almost always pulls it back into a ponytail. The bangs frame her face without being long enough to be a constant annoyance. Being natively Japanese, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that she has rather typical Asian features: small nose, wide cheekbones, a generally flat face, and dark eyes. Her skin seems to be perpetually tanned, despite her extended stays indoors, waist deep in some machine or another.

Personality:

Junko’s like a puppy: fully of energy with absolutely no idea what to do with it all. She’s incredibly optimistic and tries to see the best in people. She’ll do absolutely goofy things just to get people to smile and to garner a bit of attention. She thrives on the stuff, man. Preferably praise, but any attention is better than none, really.

But don’t mark her as a fool! Junko has an absolutely brilliant mind for all things mechanical, electronical, or similar. She’s a quick study and retains information extremely well, especially when she’s interested in the subject. She’s creative, practical, and has a good sense for how things flow together. When tasked with solving a problem, the problem gets solved. Period. Yeah, she’s spontaneous and a even a bit eccentric to an extent, sure, but she’s got a strong rational mind as well. If a certain way of thinking doesn’t work, she’ll switch gears.

See, to Junko, anything can basically be broken down into a puzzle, then solved. The pieces are always there, the trick is just seeing how they fit together (or in some cases, how they could fit together better). That challenge is what drives her to do what she does. Despite how casual she may act, she’s incredibly competitive. She’s good at what she does, but she wants to be the best. Can you blame her?

The girl is human, however, just like everybody else. She’s stubborn. Yeah, she’ll accept input or feedback on her work, but don’t try to tell her HOW to do her job. That shit just don't float well with her. Like most engineers, she's a pretty independent soul, and being supervised or managed is a quick way to get her riled up.

She can get bored pretty easily as well. Especially if she can’t find something new to do or try. It can reflect in her work too. She’s a tinkerer after all, so when the itch needs scratched, she scratches. So, to spice up her life, she enjoys risks. Taking them, making others take ‘em. It’s her natural curiosity. If the words “What would happen if…” enter her mind, and she has the means to find out, she’ll find out. When it comes to her work, she's more than willing to put her pilots at risk to satisfy her curiosity. Sacrifices sometimes have to be made in the name of SCIENCE!

The girl enjoys her privacy. She’s not one to share her personal life with people. She’ll talk to just about anybody about just about anything, but if the topic starts to turn towards her, she’ll deflect, dodge, or bail. Turn the conversation towards cenorobotics or one of her little hobbies, however, and she’ll gush information.

Biography:

Like mentioned above, Junko’s pretty tight lipped about personal matters. She was born in Japan and has never left the country, though she has lived all over the nation. She doesn’t seem particularly close to her family, and while she has implied that she may have brothers, she hasn’t seen fit to share exactly how many or what their ages are.

Before the Academy, she attended some small-time high school way out in the sticks. She was always a pretty good student - not the top, yet respectable. Except in math. The girl was a whiz kid with numbers. This led to her getting roped into a mathematics club fairly early on. She surprisingly enjoyed it and made some friends there. There was some heavy crossover between that club and an engineering club that had just formed. Her new friends got her to join that as well, and Junko found herself hooked. A love for all things machine soon blossomed in the young girl’s heart.

The sponsor of the engineering club introduced the students to Cenorobotics and the world of competitive GEAR fighting. Giant. Fighting. Robots. How could she not be interested? The sponsor might have just been using it to drum up interest and membership for the club, but for Junko it was love at first sight. It was her calling. She felt it in her bones. So she did what any gal would do: she pestered, annoyed, and otherwise harassed the sponsor until he agreed to help her put together a path into the field. She’d have to bring up her grades, do quite a bit of extracurricular activities, learn a disgusting amount of technical mumbo jumbo, and if possible, she’d want to get into the prestigious ACE Academy. It would be a helluva daunting task, but she believed she could do it.

And judging by the uniform she now wears when not working in the hangar, she was right. She had been accepted into the school at literally the last possible moment. But hey, whether you win by a mile or win by an inch, a win’s a win, yeah?

She wasted absolutely no time in trying to find a team. Unfortunately, she was a bit late to the party. Many of the teams had already put together a solid support team and didn’t need any more help. Others that were seeking help tended to favor Engineers with much more experience than she had. And others still were paranoid that the novice Engineer would either tear up their equipment, or just outright steal information to sell to other teams for a more prestigious position on a team. Pilots were weird, man. Probably completely justified in their fears, but still weird.

But luckily for Junko, there’s always a super desperate team or two around, and Celestial Star just so happened to fit the bill!
