What if I wanted to play as a human? Are there any guidelines I would need to follow or any special rules? Cause I had an idea in mind where there would be some sort of divergence from the Empire, whether it be culture, ideology, stance on xenos, or other such things. Just wanted to ask since the Empire is the main bad guy and they are humans, and they seem to be the Majority.

@Liotrent Yes, you can play as humans. Just gimme a reason whats your reason behind it, and whether its a whole planet or just a group.

@6slyboy6Rough spitball idea, but what are your thoughts on a biological race created by a race/group of machines as sort of a pet project but the machine's opinions of their creation increased and eventually took on a part fatherly part godlike role for them? And then the machines where all killed by the humans or died trying to protect the life they created? Reversal of tropes and roles on multiple levels; the attitude of the created life towards the humans would be very much like "Hello. We are legion. You killed our fathers. Prepare to die."

@ClocktowerEchos I really like the first idea. After all I did say that the Empire would kill all machine lifeforms, so your race would have a really good reason to rebel against humans. I absolutely adore that idea.

@6slyboy6 Guess I'll get my concept pass you to see if it's okay. Disclaimer: I try to use a lot of "rule of cool".

So the general idea would be that my guys are really long living (and small, not Yoda small, think about 1.50m in general size). So most of them reach an age between 300 to 350. They live on a rather high-gravity planet with a VERY strong magnetic field that blocks some of the harmful cosmic rays and also holds the atmosphere in place. Which also keeps a lot of those cosmic rays out. Which is rather useful considering they fall outside the goldilocks zone (on the inside way, IE they're too close to the sun). So, despite the magnetosphere and atmosphere, the planet is still very hot but tropical. This, rather unique, situation causes a lot of metals and stuff on their home planet to be strongly magnetic (there are a few metals deep inside their ground that are superconductors at room temperature).

These aliens will be called Relicants (derived from the word Relic) by humans. Generally, because they have a very unique way of thinking. They are master artificers. In other words, whatever they make is of high quality and generally, lasts a lifetime (Relicant lifetime). Because they can grow to an age of 300, most aren't really in a rush so they perfect their skills. Engineers are as much practical inventors as they are artists. No human can really boast that their creations are as good as those of the Relicants. But obviously the production output of humans is near ten-fold versus that of Relicants.

Relicants, further, heavily encompass energy weaponry, magnetic fields, and railgun concepts. They have a low reproduction level so every Relicant is important (which means that there aren't many left, not near being extinct but their home planet will count 70% humans). In essence, Relicants use suits that can project energy fields or certain objects that can be supercharged before thrown (and then they explode in a very nice orb of energy). To give a general idea, I'm aiming to use science to replicate space-magics and I'll try to give a semi-scientific explanation for every tech used.

So what's their general deal? Well for starters, they are absolute zealots. Peaceful ones, luckily. But they believe that in a way they are either seeded on their planet or uplifted by their gods. Which live somewhere in the universe. Human propaganda obviously says they uplifted them. During the human invasion, the Relicants weren't really prepared for a war but still were rather compelled to do so. Which lead to a slaughter of their kind and the immediate pacification of their home world. Now humans mine their precious world for those superconductors. If you got more questions or anything, feel free to ask.

So what do you think?

@6slyboy6 Here's a draft of the history of the Ivrah.

@Legion02 That actually sounds sort of like what my guys are like; master engineers although I guess more computery stuff since they were made by AI. The Ivrah can actually read tricode (the binary-like system that had a 0, 1, and 2 which allowed for more complex thoughts and thus sentient AI which the creators ran on) naturally and pick up human binary exrodinarily easily. They were also incapable of fighting having never formed nation states due to be overseen by paternal benevolent machines. They settled a bunch of pristine and resourceful planets and terraformed a few but as of right now, they're all stuck on their homeworld as the humans took over the rest and currently exploiting the shit out of them gaining them the name "world burners" in Ivrahan Basic.

@ClocktowerEchos Oooooh they were MADE by the AI. Must have misread the thing. I thought you were the AI and your creator race was slaughtered by the humans...

I'll keep my idea for now and see that it doesn't come too close to what you guys are doing... I hope you don't mind.

@Legion02 I can't praise it, cause I feel like I would make it sound like I am not in love with it. So here's without words instead.

@ClocktowerEchos Sounds about right. Tell me one thing tho: if they never had any nationalism, but lived in a collectivist empire, then how do they know what nation they are after human occupation. Are they their own, or are they still following the AIs who created them and want to bring their empire back?

If anyone here is looking for a splendid Co-GM banner on their posts, then i am happy to say that I am looknig for someone who can help me with teh Empire's posts. This means that even if you have your own empire, you could still be a big help in the ideas department. Just putting it out there.

Here's my concept I wanted to base my Human faction from the events of Code Geass but a little more realistic, a small part of the Empire that wants to secede that would eventually garner support from either other people who share their views within the Empire or support from outside the Empire. They would start out small with rebel raids being conducted on military targets with long pauses from their aggression stealing weapons and equipment, resorting to either hiding in plain sight or disappearing from public view without a trace, their tactics would be underhand and subtle and when they would appear in public events it would be almost theatrical whilst still having a practical goal in mind.

Their first goal is to break away from the Empire becoming their own entity, with their own ideology.

Their second goal is defending their newly formed nation.

Their third goal is to stabilize the nations government and economy.

Another concept is that they've already decided to go into full scale conflict with the empire involving a few worlds, hitting supply routes, military installations, stealing ships, and other actions that they would deem necessary to complete their goal of ridding the galaxy of the oppressive rule of the Empire, these would be humans that are sympathetic to the cause of Xenos and would be more inclined to aid the destruction of the empire through any means necessary.

So there are the two concepts I've thought of, one being largely passive-aggressive, and the other being actively aggressive. Tell me what you think.

@Liotrent Its up to you really. If you go passive agressive then you have more diplomatic options cause you are not constantly fighting.

Whichever you chose is up to you, but keep in mind that if you cause big ruckus, you get a big beatdown.

When I mean nationalism, I mean they have no true concept of what it is like being an American or Russian or Chinese or whatever instead of just being human. They have racial pride but they don't have the swearing of loyalty to individual nation-states since they never developed them.

They're separated now from the AI who created as they are all but extinct after some very violent purging on the part of the humans. The Ivrah are constantly be watched to make sure they aren't making AI of their own. Some have taken to cult-like worship of AI fragments or what physical remains are left but by and large, they are driven by a lot of hate as to them not only did humans kill their gods, but their parents. Double whammy of hate.

as for my faction being a corporate group, I think stats would be profits (nothing specific just a general estimate on how the group can progress) and public opinion as they are a company they need to be well recieved by the public

@aonly9470 I can't say if your concept gets accepted or not. However, most GMs prefer that you don't post your character sheet in the character tab before it gets accepted.

Further, I'm just taking a guess here but I don't think "stats" are really that much of a thing here. I'm guessing we're mostly going to play by feel. As the first post in the OOC says: you start out with a small task force.

Thirdly, and this is because I'm a bit confused, what kind of corporate group are you talking about? Humans? Why would they somehow rise up against their emperor? Or are they Xenos. In that case, PR would be permanently screwed. What are their plans? Motivations? Why are like they are and why do they like they will?

Again, I'm not GM or Co-GM. Just curious.

@aonly9470 Seeing that you are new on the site, here's an advice. Unless the GM specifically tells you to put your CS in the CS gab you should always post it in OOC first. Also, are they against the empire or not. If they are then why?

@ClocktowerEchos Lol, yeah I can see why. Okay I was just curious, thanks for clearing that up for me. Can't wait to see a CS.

I want to create a military order that is mostly made of sub-humans. Will I still require the 20% human minimum? And if so, how can I do it?

sorry if you can delete my CS that would be good. as for why you didn't get a reply it was late at night, I was tired and I gave up to do it the next day. as for them being for or against, if the propaganda is that universally polarising then I'll probably have to rethink my whole idea or give up
