@Asura I'm sure you could convince some Tech-priests to create a weapon along those lines for her as a post-mission reward. Or, just get a chainfist built to human scale; that already has both a chainsword and a power field attached to it, and I believe it comes with a storm bolter attached to the wrist too. Maximised Melee Murder Mode, Activate.

My original plan was to have her getting Abbadon'd in her early days (read; lost her arms) only to have them replaced by bionic limbs because Sororitas rarely know when to quit. To capitalize on the advantages of those metal limbs, I was gonna have her swing around an Eviscerator like some kind of Techno-Nun Barbarian.

Nothing quite says "vanguard" like chopping into a tank with as fuck off huge chain sword.

@Asura ...you're not wrong about that point. I think Eviscerators are typically reserved for Sisters Repentia, though? And the top brass, of course, if they so desire it. But maybe I'm wrong, I'd need to double-check that.

@Asura I'll allow a Dominion, even one with a chainsword - although usually they'd not have that and a storm bolter.

Nothing in the lore says they're reserved. Just, Repentias use them and only them. They're quite popular with the priests attached to guard regiments too.

@Asura I think they're largely used by Sisters Repentia and other such groups because they're so humongous that wielding anything else alongside them is extremely difficult, and impossible whilst actually using the Eviscerator due to their being two-handed weapons by necessity. Then again, the strength-boosting power armour might help overcome some of the weapon's obnoxious weight... and in fairness, I typically go by how things are portrayed on the tabletop, so that's just me.

@Asura If you mean an Eviscerator, well, there's no way you'll be using it one-handed.

Basically, if you want a chainsword-wielding Sister who doesn't have much firepower then go with a Repentia.

If you want a Sister with some firepower but little C-Q-C to them, go with a Dominion.

Never the twain shall meet, however.

I'm well aware of their roles. Repentia would make for a boring character to play. I'm sure the combination of of Power Armor and actual bionic limbs is more than enough to make wielding an Eviscerator viable. Nobody said anything about using one hand.

Seraphims combine CQC and ranged pretty well, though. :p

@Asura The Sororitas power armour, though it does grant additional strength, is not so much like Astartes armour as to make that much of a difference. That, and each role is defined by their armament, so take a chainsword and bolter/bolt-pistol if you like - others already have - but unless you're a Repentia then there is no way I'm going to allow an Eviscerator, and certainly not with another weapon.

This isn't really anything to do with you, but I've had plenty of 'unique' characters in other RPs and have no wish to see them in this one.

I like your idea and a fresh player could be good, and I could well be getting things very mixed up here, and if that's the case then I apologise.

If you insist upon it, I guess I could make a Retributor. I just don't see the point in being pedantic over who can touch the Eviscerator, considering it's an option even in the actual boardgames for certain Sororitas to wield, despite not being Repentias.

That's something you'd need to ask GW, although I'd imagine it has something to do with the fact they're in a constant state of repentance-induced rage - like a Sororitas version of the Death Company.

According to the 6th Edition of the Codex, an Eviscerator can be carried as standard wargear by the Repentia, or as general wargear by 'Canoness and Ministorum Priest only'.

I'm not attempting to be pedantic, and I'd like another player, but there's a reason only Sisters hopped-up on the Sororitas' magical faith juice and driven into battle by people wielding neural whips can wield a gigantic two-handed chainsword (as well as a lack of any ranged weapons). The only other two (according to the TT at least) are members high up enough to be similar, just a lot less deranged.

Honestly - as weird as it may seem - I'm genuinely trying to not be an arsehole!

I would assume the reason only Sisters Repentia and zealot priests tend to use Eviscerators is because the weapon, as JB has stated, is extremely impractical to utilise, especially in conjunction with anything else. I imagine most Battle-Sisters are more comfortable with weapons that can be swapped out for other weapons when necessary, since they aren't blinded by insane faith at that precise moment.
