Witcher 3 and Rise of Nations.
Play as any of the kingdoms in the Witcher universe in a grand struggle of political domination of the world or region of that universe as you battle one another, monsters, elves, dwarves, fucking Wild Hunt, and everything in between. Conduct research, gather resources, and expand your nation's borders in an effort to politically suppress and dominate your foes.
Not being a modern grand strategy game like that from Paradox or the likes of perhaps Total War the actual depth shallows itself out in comparison to the Witcher and all I can think of is effective aesthetic changes and magical elements in the vein of Lord of the Rings cash-in strategy titles. Without the avenues to conduct interpersonal politics like CK2 or deeper functions like anything released in the last five years in the strategy [meta-]genre the prospective game fails to really go anywhere outside of its respective early-2000's strategy elements.
