Is this still accepting? What are you missing? (I'd like to go for security tough guy, if it's still available) Where are you in terms of story?
I think so, but only @Dead Cruiser could say for sure.
In terms of story, I think we're just at the beginning of the beginning. ;)

Summary of Roles (Characters are posted in Character Sheet tab, was a bit too lazy to link it all): @Hylozoist Ship's Steward (Cook) @vFear Master-at-Arms (Security/Boarding Party Chief) @Irisity Ship's Surgeon (Doctor) @Dark Wind Helsman (Pilot) @jasonwolf Boarding Party Member @Hologram Prose Spymaster @Cute Bumber Communications Master
Character's still waiting approval or WIP: @Ink Blood is working on an owl-based Researcher/Navigator @Rougespartan181 is working on a psionic-based unknown role character @Jeyma expressed interest in writing a merchant
Stuff that's still missing from the very hop-shod list I compiled for the Interest Check (the list from the interest check was/is by no means exhaustive, it was just some of the roles I could think off of the top of my head): First Officer Quartermaster Ordnance Master Engineer
In general, the party is also very psionic heavy.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what position Ildaz would be best suited to? Gimme a debate so I can make up my mind.
Boarding party always needs more meat shields troops. :P
Another option might be emphasizing his technological prowess a bit more than his combat prowess and swinging him more towards Chief Engineer.
Hologram covered my thoughts with their post above. At a first glance, he seems a good fit as a part of the boarding party with his battle-specific skill sets. Choosing one of the other two castes as his origin would open up the pathway to other positions on the ship like First Officer or Chief Engineer.
@Kenaron If a tough guy is your bag, you're likely well off joining the boarding party. But please no more psions; he have enough to give a third edition d&d player a goddamn heart attack.
@Rougespartan181 I concur with @Hologram Prose; by making him less "mystic" and more tech-focused, you could make him the chief engineer.
@Ink Blood Character looks good. If I may make a suggestion, how his interests and past line up, it would likely be best to play him as a sort of crackpot scientist, obsessed with ancient history that he cannot convince anyone else of the relevance of. Puts him better in line for joining a band of rogues like ourselves. Other than that, he's accepted.
I think so, but only @Dead Cruiser could say for sure.

wait, gotta find the image... Found it
I wanted the Master-at-arms guy, that's the one I really had in mind.
Well, I could be the engineer if you don't have one already.
Btw, @Dead Cruiser, I think I'm cool with an engineer. Thetough guy was for the security chief, but that's already taken. And no psionics, ok, I'll get to work.
@Dead Cruiser I was going to go with that angle at first and then retconned it because I though the whole 'verse was interested in what the gods did! Also, I could get rid of the psionics with my character. I hadn't realized the amount already present. I could go with the arcane divine branches since I don't think anyone has touched on the divine branch too much. Plus it could tie in with him being obsessed with the ancient societies and whatnot.
@Ink Blood He's fine how he is, but if you wanted to revise him into a more "wizardly" sort of character, I would have no objections. The thing with divine magic that he would need to be granted the magic by a god that matches his alignment.
Hey, lurker here returning to the guild, been following this for a while now. Anyways here's my merchant that took longer than I expected to finish up:
Name: Quintus Quintillion (HERO OF THE GAMMA QUADRANT!!!)
Race:
The Wayfarers are an ancient spacefaring people and are synonymous with The Cartographer's College. Their origins are shrouded in myth, but it is commonly accepted that the species left their home planet early on, whether for survival reasons or a religious exodus isn't clear; but they spent the next millennia in search of a prophesied planet said to be at the centre of the universe. The Wayfarers traversed the galaxy in great fleets, systematically mapping everywhere they went in search of their promised land. Eventually they found a planet they dubbed 'Euclidea' whose co-ordinates held special religious significance to the Wayfarers and made it their new home.
Even though the Wayfarers had settled onto a permanent home exploration had become a part of their culture, religion and even their evolution so after setting up great archive's on their new home planet their continued their constant and rigorous mapping out of the galaxy. Eventually after a union between the two biggest rival factions of the Wayfarers formed the Cartographer's College which became a backbone of galactic trade and conquest pioneering new void-maps and keep old ones updated and even become one of 'The Nine'.
Age: 87 (about middle aged)
Gender: Male
Appearance: Wayfarers are short of stature (around 5'4), slight of build and have a pale grey complexion with larger eyes but otherwise are very similar to regular humans. Quintus has tattoos about him, each one designating a sector of the galaxy that he personally mapped out.
Atop his head Quintus wears a large distinctively bulbous helmet which allows him to view the world a little differently, specifically it shows the different energy levels all about him, useful in conjunction with his sword. Also it protects his head. Underneath that he has a youngish face with purple eyes and an unruly mock of black hair.
Homeworld:
Adopted home of the Wayfarers and store of the great archives of the Cartographer Guild, Euclidia is known by another name: The Hidden Planet. The Cartographers College leaves it off all maps they distribute and go to great lengths to suppress any knowledge of it's location, as well as for self-preservation they do this because they see it as a sacred utopia that their race searched the galaxy for millennia to find. However the few outsiders that have been their speak of how it is a really an arid, rocky planet with the Wayfarer's having to resort to using bio-domes in order to harvest any crops.
Set in the centre of a binary star-system Euclidea appears not to move, caught between the gravity of the two surrounding stars, meaning it is also a planet of perpetual sunlight. The planets galactic coordinates hold great religious significance to the inhabiting Wayfarer's and it is the home of the ancient Cartographer's College. Life on Euclidea is decadent and steeped in tradition, each young Wayfarer must routinely set off to map the galaxy as part of various coming of age traditions and the store and upkeep of maps is treated sacredly.
Alignment: Entropy/Statis
Role: Merchant
Skills:
Decades of travel, smuggling operations and dealing cartography under-the-table have made Quintus Quintillion very savvy when it comes to black-markets and he has a seemingly inexhaustible list of contacts right across the galaxy to fence to, some of which don't even want him dead.
Like most Wayfarers, Quintus is a dab-hand at languages and cultures, fluent in several dialects and a quick-learner to knew ones.
In combat Quint's main weapon is his guile and cunning, he'll always prefer to outwit his opponents rather than fight them head on. But his actual weapon is a nameless sword he conned out of a group of treasure hunters. Unknown to Quint the blade is imbued with a divine magic from a trickster god allowing the wielder limited entropy manipulation. Practically though this means it can generate ice and wear down nearby power sources.
History:
Quintus Quintillion always held the unshakeable belief that rules generally applied to other people. Like most Wayfarers he was born on Euclidea and taken from a young age to be inducted into the illustrious Cartographer's College where he was raised and educated to be an intergalactic-cartographer. Throughout his life he was sent traversing the cosmos on various pilgrimages to bring back more details for the great galactic MAP back on Euclidea. But unlike most Wayfarers, Quintus was never content.
Chance, fate, luck, whatever you might call it, Quint's life changed on one fateful venture. While mapping a small ice-moon he stumbled across a group of illegal archeologists excavating beneath the surface. Protocol of the Cartographer's College is either non-intervention, or to notify local authorities; Quintus did neither. Instead he opted to hail the group with a fake Arc Luminous military signal. It had the desired effect of sending the skittish treasure hunters off-world before you could say '12 years in max security'.
Quintus wasted no time at all in investigating what turned out to be a sort of underground ice-temple dedicated to some forgotten god. Barren except for one object, an ancient sword that the young cartographer found himself inexplicably drawn to...
Something about that journey seemed to change Quint, while he always had a slight touch of thrill seeker to him, now he seemed to compulsively hunt risks, deliberately sowing tricks and chaos as he went. He was still self-serving and hedonistic but now their seemed almost a more purposeful edge to him. And the sword never seemed to leave his side.
On further travels Quintus found himself now drawn to various underworlds and criminal classes, though he viewed them with general disdain he was more than happy to relieve them of their credits. Travelling as a cartographer after all turned out to be the perfect guise for a smuggler.
A couple decades or so smuggling and conning though and one too many close shaves made Quintus realise that smuggling held too many risks. It was only when one of his clientele, realising he was a cartographer, offered him a handsome sum to remove a smuggler's moon from the Guild's records that Quintus discovered the lucrative and comparatively risk-free venture of map-altering.
Want your smuggling route taken off the grid? Got you covered. Your planet's name swapped with another to bring in trade? Not a problem. Discount maps that undercut the Guild? Quintus Quintillion is your man...And supposing that asteroid you had taken off the map, the one that was obviously a hiding place for ill-gotten gains, is stumbled upon by er, 'third parties', well that would just be too bad. Quintus was in it more for the fun than he was for the credits, all the while keeping strange sword near him at all times.
But then of course, he screwed up. It was a simple job, old map of an uninteresting minor arm of the galaxy, no one would notice it was missing. But holomaps all look the same, particularly when you're a bit hung-over. The Crux Empire had just reached a major settlement with the Cartographer's College, narrowly outbidding the Arc Luminous for the newly completed void maps of the expansive and life-teeming Gamma Quadrant. The deal was in it's final stages of completion, a mighty Crux fleet was poised for a war of conquest, meanwhile sat in a dingy bar glancing at a holoscreen Quintus Quintillion realised what a horrible mistake he had made.
All of a sudden he was one of the most wanted men in the galaxy, the Crux Empire and the Cartographer's College both wanted him dead, but in a strange twist of fate owing to everyone misreading his intentions, Quintus Quintillion was hailed as a hero in the Gamma Quadrant for single-handedly stopping a Crux armada. Recognising that last to be equally as dangerous as the former two, Quint felt it was time to make a run for it; signing up to join the first ship he came across which just so happened to be in need of a man with underground connections...
Personality: A rogue and a con-artist, Quintus Quintillion is the sort of man you should trust about as far as you can spit a rat, but a cornered rat can be quite a vicious thing. He is educated and charming, plying his silver tongue where he can, but beneath his seemingly eccentric, affable nature there is a darker, more calculated side to him.
Having a jittery nature, fast talking and acting. Quint is perhaps a gambler by nature, especially he likes working with low odds and high rewards. Always looking on to the next game, he just can't seem to help himself.
Other: I'm more or less happy to change or expand upon anything that needs it here, wasn't sure if some of it seemed 'too much' or not haha.
Stuff that's still missing from the very hop-shod list I compiled for the Interest Check (the list from the interest check was/is by no means exhaustive, it was just some of the roles I could think off of the top of my head): First Officer Quartermaster Ordnance Master Engineer
I'm surprised nobody has applied for the role of First Mate / First Officer yet.
@Joytex Interesting character, certainly a jack of all trades that can assist as navigator, comms officer, wherever a sub may be needed. I'd just like you to amend his alignment to Lawful Evil, and replace mentions of "the Crux Empire" with the "Crux Tenebre" to bring it in line with everyone else. Aside from that, accepted.
So as far as First Mate goes, I've had a friend of mine inform me that the position is in fact synonymous with Quartermaster. On a ship, the First Officer is a delegation by the crew to represent them to the captain (a necessity on larger ships) and is the only person with authority to impeach the captain (anyone else would be committing mutiny). Those are some considerations to keep in mind if you plan to choose someone from among you for the position. Hopefully not someone currently wearing too many hats.
@Hylozoist excuse me but I did. Valk very much covets that role of power. Any way he can improve his status is good. GM said no because Valk is too unstable to be trusted with power which is 100% true. Still coulda been cool.
My vote goes to tel otherwise. Valk appreciates their web of lies coming from an extensive onw themself.
