Mui Rei

The scenery of Prydain strode past the train, there wasn't a great deal of change where the scenary was concerned for well over an hour as it was mostly small towns, farms, or large open fields with small mountains or hills dotting immediate horizon. It clearly indicated that they were moving to the less populated areas of Prydain. Truth be told it was exhaustingly boring, but it was a way for the girl behind the window to fill her time with. Her glassy eyes had been staring through the window the entire ride now with only occasionally breaking the monotony by getting a drink or food, or simply using the restroom. She had to look out of the window since she did get sick from any kind of moving vehicle rather quickly, that was if she didn't focus on the horizon for a few minutes. It was probably the constant wiggling of the train wagons that made her so nauseous in the first place. It was nothing to worry about though as the music and scenery could amuse her for quite a while. It was only when she had to travel between these two points, which was not very regularly, so the trip itself was not so terrible.

She got a glimpse of herself in the reflection of the window and looked herself over one more time out of boredom.
For the special occasion of the partnering ceremony she had put on a pretty black mini dress, it frilled down towards the bottom ending the black top layer just before the end transitioning into grey frillings and ended with a white frilly bottom layer. On both sides of the dress at the bottom were two red tied ribbons just like the red lint around her upper body just under her chest. Vertically there was another lint drooping from the top of her dress down towards the ground and stopped just under her dress. Another tied ribbon attached to the lint around her middle to the left side of her front body.

She was wearing some black boots with it and her hair was tied in the same way like any other day, one braid on one side hanging in front of her body and the other part of her hair hanging loosely behind her back, her long bangs were moved towards one side of her head so the hairs wouldn't be hanging in front of her eyes as much.
Her gaze was suddenly focused on her eyes. They still looked as hostile as they used to look. She despised that look. It was probably getting worse too, she had to smile a little more often... Mui directed her eyes elsewhere from the window to forget about it. Her partner likely wouldn't get a good first impression if she kept looking like that. The cute clothes didn't matter if there was still a glaring, aggressive girl wearing them. She at least wanted to try and get along with her partner since it would be a pain to share a room with someone you hated.

The sudden slowing down of the train had taken Mui of guard for a second. She lightly shifted off the seat by the sudden stopping of the train and the gravitation pulling on her body. She was able to stop herself from falling off by pushing her boots down onto the carpet. The train slowed down further till it completely stopped, making Mui fall back into her chair again. She looked outside for a brief moment to see what was up and noticed that they had finally arrived at the last station, a familiar and thankful sight for Mui and most students in the train. Mui leaned on the small table in front of her for a moment to help herself up and brushed the remaining bread crumbs and likes that were still stuck from the earlier sandwiches she got off of her dress. She turned around and grabbed the hand luggage that had been resting above her on the whole trip. Not being the tallest, it took standing on her tippy toes to finally reach it. Doing a final double check on her stuff, making sure not to leave anything behind, she proceeded to swiftly move out of the wagon while swinging the shoulder bag over her neck while moving.

The instant she stepped off the train the humid air hit her full in the face.

The cool air conditioning in the train made the air outside feel immensely hotter and drier than inside the cool train. She gave a short face of disgust, the temperature was just too hot for her. From a quick glance around she immediately noticed she wasn't the biggest of the bunch, all the boys were way taller than her but there were still many smaller girls though so she didn't feel all that self concious about her own height. The real problem was that they had to take their own bags up towards the academy by themselves. Glancing at her frilly and elaborate dress, the idea of her doing a loy of physical activity wasn't exactly on the agenda.. She had no choice though if she wanted her stuff to arrive in her room, there were a lot of students trying to get to their stuff. She tried waiting for a while but people kept pushing each other and acted like she wasn't there. This was gonna take forever if she had to wait, Mui was done with this b*llsh*t and burried her way through the countless people, everyone that didn't move got a por of her elbow, it was mostly plowing through which they didn't really seem to enjoy so much. She got a few angry glares from others that had been waiting for a while already but she couldn't care less. She gave an irritated glare back and took both her suitcases moving on.

This was a pain, it was going so slow, she didn't have the strength to get these two cases rolling at a steady pace. Sweat was softly dripping from her forehead, her hands had blisters on them from these stupid suitcase handles. She had decided for another quick break from all this missery, she placed both hands on her knees and panted a little. After a minute or two she took a small bottle of water from her shoulder bag and poured the liquid into her watering hole while moving her droopy bangs back to their place once more. After she had finished hydrating herself again she dropped the bottle back into her bag again and took out a hairclip to keep her bangs up high so they wouldn't try plastering themselves to her face again.

A short while later she had finally made it to the academy. Never again! How could they let teenage girls walk all that way with their luggage? Where was a cute boy to help her? Outrageous. Standing by the front door fanning herself from the heat, wanting to cool down a little before entering, That sun hall was ancient and likely pretty cold inside so she didn't want to catch a cold with this sweat on her body. Mui took a quick look around, still the same school and still the same Mui. They had planted new flowers this year and they were beautiful. They really took their time to keep the school grounds in good shape, it still looked as pretty and clean as the day she first got here.

Just like everyone else Mui followed into the Sun Room, it was just like the first time she came in here, the mosaic glass on the sides of the room colored the students all in different colors making the scene almost unrealistic, it was breathtaking to see so many different colors beaming down onto all the students like a sea of living art. Once she stepped in closer to the middle her senses seemed to tingle. There was an inmense amount of pressure cast upon the girl, she didn't know if anyone else felt the same but it felt like there were huge presences amongst them just like the first time she had been here. Beings way higher than them, they were here, she was sure of it. Mui took an anxious gulp and continued down the line dragging her suitcases behind her trying to ignor that weird feeling as best as she could for now.

After having waited for a short while the all too familiar headmaster entered from the side of the room walking up to the altar with some third years trailing behind him. He had been growing all his hair again... He looked even hairier than last time... Ugh she hoped he wouldn't be touching her today or at least this year. As comedic as ever though... While the headmaster was speaking out the words he wanted to say Mui undid the clip in her hair again as attempt to try to get her hair back into model again, even though it was pretty hopeless right now. She tried making the best of it though. By the time she was finished the headmaster had finished his speech and the ceremony had started. He called out two names and they both had to come up to the podium to be bonded by some sort of mark she had been seeing around a lot on this school. It was going pretty swiftly so she was bound to be at turn soon enough. She did feel a little anxious though, she might not look much like it but it was still a thing to be bonded with someone for a year that you most likely didn't know and in Mui her case didn't know. She could hardly remember the names from her class from last year. She was being negative again, it was a given she didn't look happy on the outside right now. She really had to stop or her partner might get an even worse first look on her.

Lilac de Blanc

"Hmph, I doubt that," Lilac replied. She could never imagine herself being attracted to something that required a lot of physical strength to work. She was a firm believer of brains over brawns. Not to mention her delicateness and her status as a lady. Hard labor was simply not for her.

What would she do after she mastered her magic? To be honest, she didn't really know either. Her magic type was healing magic. Did that mean she had to become a healer? She couldn't imagine herself working in a hospital or wandering around healing those in need. It simply didn't fit her image for herself.

It seemed Marth hadn't even discovered his own ability. So in that respect, she was ahead of him.

After saying his piece, Marth left her side of the room, going back to behind the sliding door. After he was gone, Lilac threw herself on her bed, hugging the pillow placed there. Her feelings were now all confused, thanks to Marth's question and the impending doom of attending the monster hunting classes. She remembered how the latter's teacher was a stern one, making her not looking forward to the class even more.

Hmph, no use worrying about it. I'll just have to tackle it as it comes.

She disliked that approach however. She wanted her life to be structured and ordered, with no uncertainty and surprises.

Alice Amanda Anette Anderson

Passionate Songbird

Alice took note of her partners' reaction. It could be summed up in one word: cold. After you've worked in theater for a certain amount of time, one thing you learned was how to read body language, certain tells give away how a person was feeling. You had to learn how to imitate those tells, to make your acting more convincing, and to really put yourself in the moment and become your character. Applying these skills outside of the stage wasn't something she usually had to do, but she knew what it meant when a person as assured looking as Mikayla pretty much avoided shaking hands - oh, and the fact that her strained mockery of a smile never reached her eyes.

For some reason or the other, her new partner didn't like her. Great first start.

The announcement about Monster Hunting came as a surprise to her, but didn't bother her much. Oh, it limited her choices sure, but in all honesty, she was satisfied with being in Music already, she didn't really care what her second elective was. In any case, Alice withheld a sigh as she followed Mikayla off the stage, quietly noting that a few students in the front row suddenly went quiet as she passed. This puzzled her - of course, she was also unaware that Mikayla was glaring daggers at them. If she'd known, she may have been more than a little cross with her partner. As it was, Alice was willing to put up with her as far as her patience would allow. Anymore than that, well, suffice it to say those that have worked with her were aware, Alice was not without her fangs.

She followed her, and was sorely tempted to ask her questions, talk, anything to break the silence between them because she really, really disliked the silence, but at the same time, the air around her made it obvious that flapping her mouth carelessly would be a bad idea. The problem was she didn't know a thing about the other girl, and had no idea where to begin with her. It was like trying to sing a song without knowing the lyrics.

As she was contemplating a way out of this awkward situation, an audible snap rang through her ears and Mikayla tumbled down. Her boot heel had snapped, and from the way she wasn't getting up, it looked like she'd sprained herself too.

Alice rushed to her partner immediately. She inspected the injured limb. "That was a bad fall," she stated bluntly. No point in asking if she was okay, with how that ankle was swelling. "That looks nasty, no way you're walking like that. C'mon, I'll help you get to the clinic and we can put some ice on it." She said, as she attempted to haul her by the shoulder. The clinic was a bit far from here; she hoped Mikayla could put up with that ankle until then.

Regis Dimitrios

"But why? I mean, uh, what about your parents?"

The colours were not distinct, but Regis understood them to be some form of bashfulness. Awkwardness. His partner was being shy!
Well, he was likely being shy. Probably. Maybe.

... He wasn't that sure, actually, the colours were a new confusing addition that he hadn't fully figured out yet, but Regis decided to stick to 'his new partner was being shy'. Poor skills talking to new people? Nervousness around his new partner? Or perhaps more likely, and Regis theorised through his sharp detective level reasoning and superb people skills, that Monty was falling in love with him! Shyness meant affection, right? He might have read some romance novels, he understood how this worked. New school year, a perfectly handled speech, what was more than likely his ability (or else some bizarrely specific eye disease), and his attractive new partner was interested in him! Romantically! Maybe in other ways! Today was going fantastic.

... Wait, was that colour more a hue of concern?

No, had to be shyness. Growing adolescent love!

Unfortunately, before he could answer Monty's strange question about his parents, one of the volunteers burst into the room and informed them that Monster Hunting class was now mandatory. The anger of the volunteer ruining what was plainly romantic tension was quickly replaced with a cold sweat down his back. Monster Hunting? Mandatory? As in, the hunting of monsters class. The class based around hunting monsters. Surely that was a mistake. Did they not know how short he was? He was still growing, dammit! Monster hunting should be for when he shoots up to six feet tall, not before.

"I'm going to be taking cooking as my elective then," Monty said, marking it on his sheet. "So, what are you planning on taking? All of these seem interesting."

"What an amazing coincidence! For I too have now decided to-- Uh, I mean I had already decided, to grace my presence in the cooking class. I'm quite the chef!" He might have read a book on cooking some type of food. Or was that the gardening book on growing papyrus fruit? Either way, how hard could it be?

"Anyway! I think you asked something before we were so rudely interrupted. Yes, I taught myself all that! And uh, 'why'?" He frowned. He wasn't quite sure he understood the question. "Why did I teach myself all that and why were my parents not around to do so themselves? Well, uh, they're busy people. Doing... busy people things. It's very busy being a... busy person. They'd come home at dinner time, usually. Uh, sometimes. Most of the time." He frowned to himself. "Wait a minute, that makes it sound like my parents are horribly neglectful. They're not! They're lovely people! I had maids! Lots of maids! Don't call child services on my parents."

Mikayla Iovine

Mikayla could not understand why Alice would help her. She would not believe that anyone would be nice just to be nice. The singer must have some kind of ulterior motive, but none was obvious to Mikayla. If it was the other way around, she might have even left Alice behind and let her be somebody else's problem. Perhaps she wanted Mikayla to "owe" her, but what would a girl who had everything want from her anyway? Or maybe she was just looking down on Mikayla from her stupid, golden pedestal. Either way, Mikayla did not trust her.

But none of that mattered because her ankle was hurting her so much that she couldn't bear it. She didn't have any choice but to let Alice help her to the clinic. "...Thank you," she said, begrudgingly as she hopped towards the clinic on one foot while using Alice as her support.

A minute in, Mikayla felt the need to stop. "W-wait!," she cried out. "Can I take off the other boot first? I don't want the same thing to happen again." She hobbled back down and removed her other shoe. She sighed with relief before struggling to get back up to Alice. "Ok, we're good."

When they finally reached the clinic, they were quick to explain what happened to the nurse there and she let Mikayla take a seat on the cot. She also reassured them that it was a minor sprain and that Mikayla simply needed to ice it and take it easy for a few days. Mikayla thanked the nurse politely and then applied the ice she was given onto her swollen ankle. "Oh!" she winced at first, the coldness of the ice somewhat burned. She pursed her lips and tried to focus her attention on something else to forget the pain. "Thank you again for helping me," she said to Alice and this time she meant it. She had been more than kind as they made their way to the clinic and Mikayla could not help but feel grateful that she was there. While she was still cautious and not open to the idea of friendship, maybe Alice wasn't so bad after all.

As soon as the pain had been numbed by the ice, Mikayla realized that they had left her stuff back in the hall. "I need to go back for my luggage!" she said, then attempted to hop off the cot.

Fortunately, the nurse made her stay down before she hurt herself more than she already has. "But my stuff..."

Samuel Deniel

After getting in the room Sam realized the volunteers were waiting around for him to choose his elective, Vyvyan was doing music, and since Sam had basically zero musical capabilities he supposed their one elective would be apart from each other. Vyvyan was asking Sam to guess his ability, which could be fun, "ya, sure, just gimme a sec to pick my elective." Sam employed a simple trick his dad had taught him a long time ago, he pulled out a coin from his pocket, designated heads for cooking and tails for horticulture, and flipped it. The trick wasn't to just give up the choice, his dad told him when you flip the coin, you suddenly realize which side you hope it lands on and that's what you really want. As the coin was in the air, Sam realized he wanted it to land on heads. With his mind cleared he marked down his choice of cooking, thanks the volunteers for their help and they left.

Sam looked at what Vyvyan was doing before starting to unpack his things. "Just so you know, I'm a terrible guesser when it comes to these things, so I hope your hints are good." He chuckled as he pulled out something wrapped in lots of bubble wrap. He unwrapped the item to reveal a small glass dragon statue. It was something his dad had got for him when he was about seven years old. For some reason Sam decided to bring it to school this year, he wasn't entirely sure why, he just felt like he should. "Anyways, I'll take a shot in the dark about your ability, it is.....clairvoyance?" Sam really had no clue, and there were so many abilities that he was almost certainly wrong. Not like magic, you always had a one in twelve chance to guess someones magic type.

Korrigan ‘Korrey’ Umbraisis

“Um, I would love to take this Monster-hunting class since I want to be an adventurer and all that, but I would hate to drag you into something like that. If you really are fine with it, like, 100% a-okay, then that’d be awesome, but don’t feel obligated to.” Korrey really didn’t want to have his partner feel like they had to take the class because he was in it, not to mention that Felicity really didn’t look like the type who would be very interesting in that kind of thing. “And as for joining you in cooking, I’d be down for that. Always been eager to learn.”

While the two students had been talking amongst themselves, the volunteers had received a notification on their devices and, after a brief discussion, one of them cut into their conversation, clearing his throat loudly in order to get Korrey and Felicity’s attention.

“Um, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I’m afraid you both don’t really have much of a choice when it comes to the Monster Hunting class. Effective immediately, all students are now required to take the course, so you only get one choice of elective.”

Korrey visibly bristled at the volunteer’s words, his piercing glare hidden behind the tinted glass of his shades. While he wasn’t particularly affected by this degree, he couldn’t help but think about how some of the other students would feel being forced into such a physically demanding class at the last minute. Hell, he even remembered seeing some kid in a wheelchair earlier,so was he going to be forced to try and fight some beastie too?

Needless to say, Korrey had a lot he wanted to say about this sudden and, in his opinion, poorly handled change to the school curriculum. However, getting upset at the volunteer wouldn’t solve anything, so he resigned himself to waiting until the class in question to air his grievances with the teacher in charge. With that point of action firmly set in his mind, he let out a frustrated breath as he quickly circled the Monster-hunting and cooking classes before handing his paper to the volunteer. After that, he’d walk over to one of the beds and flop down on it, letting his be emptied of all his problems and instead choosing to surrender to the softness of the bed.

Talia Nitro

Talia decided to lay down for a few minutes, after all it had been a pretty big day. She thought back on everything that had happened, so much in just one day. She looked at the seal again for reassurance, yup it was still there. Such a strange symbol, yet it held much greater importance than met the eye.

She noticed that Leo had started unpacking and setting up his side of the room and she decided that was a good idea. She started digging through her bags and throwing aside a bunch of clothing on one side of the bed then a bunch of her personal items on the other. She then got up and put the clothing away in the supplied storage areas, then she went about setting up her digital setup on the desk. First she arranged her tower computer on the ground next to the desk, then she put a keyboard and a monitor in the centre of the desk, a mouse and mousepad accompanying that. She took out an additional monitor and put it to the left of the centre one. She then started to hook up the wires and everything. She bent under the desk and started working there when Leo addressed her.

"Talia, you didn't change your electives to match mine did you?" She responded quickly from under the desk where she was at work with wires and the such. "Uh no, I just think cooking would help me out alot, and I didn't see much promise in art and music.." This was somewhat truthful. I mean cooking would come in handy, no doubt about that. She went back to working for not a second when Leo started talking again. "Oh, and if you have the time, I'd also like to discuss living arrangements." She got out from under the desk and approached Leo and faced him. "Yea sure, I'd be more than happy to get things like that out of the way, that is, dealt with." She smiled at him and continued, "what did you have in mind?"

Marth Carter

Marth sat on his bed taking out things from his luggage, he widened his eyes as a he took out a rectuglar object that was wrapped in paper to protect it. he unwrapped it and found a family portrait from when he was little, a point where his mother was still alive. His main drivining force for wanting to be at the top of his class. He didn't want to lose anymore people in his life, Marth wished to protect those dear to him.

He placed the picture on his work desk, and continued unpacking taking out more items and pictures, some of him of his family while others of him and his combat instructors. Marth smiled reminiscing before it was broken up by knocking on his door. he opened it and saw the volunteer from earlier.

"I am back to pick up your elective sheets" he said.

"Alright one second" Marth took a couple steps and stretched his body over to his desk to get his sheet but it wasn't there. Maybe he left it on Lilacs side. Marth approaches the sliding door and knocks, "The volunteer is back to collect our elective sheets, I think I left mine on your side" Marth said waiting for the clearing to enter.

Lilac de Blanc

Lilac rose from her bed sluggishly when she heard the knock from the other side of the wall. It was Marth again. What did he want this time?

She groaned inwardly when she heard that he had left his elective sheet in her room. She looked at the nearby desk and found it right away, thankfully.

She remembered that she hadn't selected her electives either. With monster hunting now becoming mandatory, she only had a choice for one other elective.

That would be drawing, she thought. She could just sit there and not say anything for the entire class, which seemed like the ideal learning environment for her.

Taking her own sheet, seeing how the volunteer collecting the sheets must be on his side of the room, she opened the sliding door.

"Here it is." She gave his sheet to his hand. "And give him my sheet too," she continued, handing over her sheet as well.

After that, without another word to her partner, she went back to her side of the room and slid the door close once more.

Jeanette Blackwood

The interior of the sun room seemed to pulse with ancient energy, a testament to the power in the bond between Mage and Familiar. Standing within the crowd of students, Jeanette didn't pay much attention to the Principals opening words, or the first few bondings. Instead, she simply let the feel of the room soak into her body, feeling just a tiny bit closer to the gods here. Man, what I wouldn't give to just spend a day just relaxing in here, but I doubt they're renting this place out for study sessions. Shame, school would probably make a killing of it, though given how much tuition is, I doubt they're hurting for cash. Jeanette chuckled to herself slightly as she looked around the crowd, quickly growing bored with just standing around and waiting for her name to be called. While she was excited at the thought of bonding, it still seemed somewhat weird how it was not only a requirement her in Prydain, but also treated just so casually. Honestly, it was a bit off-putting to her that her first would be given to some random stranger without any say so. Well, it's like they always say: 'When in Rhéo, do as the Rhémans do.' Still, they sure are taking their sweet time.

Continuing her observation, she noticed a small-ish girl push her way through the crowd, her frilly dress clashing with the rather rough way in which she elbowed anyone who didn't move out of her way. Luckily, Jeanette was not one of those people, watching from the side as the girl made her way towards the front of the crowd. Well, aren't they just a little ray of sunshine. Looks cute in that dress though. Going back to her people watching, the light haired Erish girl sighted a particularly interesting sight. Standing in a formal attire that was in stark contrast to the casual wear that most of the other students were dressed in, complete with silk gloves for the added level of prim and properness. A wry smile spreading across Jeanette's face as she reached into her pocket to pull out a wilted rose, barely clinging to life. A memento from Eriu, the luscious full red of flower had dulled to an ugly brown, the petals crumpled and closed in. While the former majesty of the rose could be seen somewhat, it seemed clear that this flower was well past saving and laying at death's door.

Come on, Jen. You've practice this a hundred times. You've got this. Focusing her thoughts on flower, she felt the tiny sliver of life that was still within. Taking a deep breath, she focused upon the wilted stalk in her hand, waving her other hand over it as she let loose the trickle of magical power flow from her meager reserves into the rose. At first, nothing seem to happen. Then, the green of the rose stalk and red of the petals would suddenly begin to brighten up, regaining it's old, dazzling color once more as the dying cells were suddenly revitalized. It took about a minute, but when she finished, she held in her hand a beautiful, full rose, the petals having turned an exquisite ruby red that seemed to shimmer in the golden light of the Sun Room. Inhaling faint sweetness that was the scent of this particular rose, she let out a breath as a wave of exhaustion rolled over her. By the gods, bringing one tiny flower from the brink of death shouldn't be taking this much out of me.

Once she was able to recover her composure and catch her breath, Jeanette sneakily maneuvered her way through the crowd until she was right behind the blonde noble girl, clearing her throat in order to get their attention before letting lose one of her dazzling smiles. "Well now, I didn't expect to find a lady as beautiful as you amongst our student body, nor can I believe that I managed to miss you last year either." Jeanette gave a low bow to the the blonde girl, rising back up from the ground to present to them the rose. "My name is Jeanette Blackwood, and if you would be so kind, I would ask that you please except this Erish Rose from my homeland as a gift from me to you. A noble specimen for someone of equally noble bearing."

Richard Bateman

His legs felt like jelly as he made his way over to the volunteers waiting for them, his breathing shaky as he quickly slunk out of sight from the crowd. That had been a more horrible experience than he had thought it would, he almost felt like he would throw up. If he had been standing up there a moment longer, he just might have. Projectile vomiting on his partner, the headmaster, and two druids would have been the worst way possible to start the year.

He stopped to catch his breath in the doorway, trying to let his clenched nerves untangle themselves from the Erish knot they had tied themselves into. But just as he was taking a deep breath, he felt a hand on his shoulder, startling him badly enough that he let out a strangled squeak. Well, that was totally undignified. He looked over his shoulder, seeing his partner there, frowning and looking understandably concerned. Gods above, how had he forgotten about him?!

He tried to let out a weak laugh, wiping cold sweat off his cheek under the guise of fixing his glasses.
"M-Me? I-I'm okay. I-I just don't l-like being on stage is all. S-Sorry about that." he apologized, hoping he didn't look as horrible as he felt. Part of it was guilt for ditching to poor guy on the stage like that, but a bigger part of it was how much he was embarrassing himself right now. Thankfully, the volunteers ushered them along, and led them to their room.

He half listened to their tour of the facilities, quickly setting his suitcase down on one of the beds. A partition, thank gods! At least he could have some privacy! With no offense to his partner, he didn't know how he would have handled being stuck in a small room with another person for a year. The communal dorms had stressed him enough. Soon, the volunteers finished explaining the features of the room, and handed both of them a slip of paper.
"Oh, and by the way, sorry about this last minute change, but Monster Hunting has been made mandatory for all second years. Professor Munster has been pushing to have it added to the core curriculum for years, so I guess this in a concession they made."

Richard froze. Monster Hunting? Like, hunting monsters? Dragons, slimes, bearcats-kinda monsters? But, he didn't even know his ability yet! He had no clue if it was suited to combat at all! If it was a combat-oriented ability, like super-strength or enhanced reflexes, then he'd be in trouble. He had no clue how to fight!

He took a deep breath, trying not to let the dismay show on his face. It was okay, he still had one elective, right? One safe, easy elective that wouldn't require being around vicious monsters. He looked over the list, running over it. Cooking would probably to most popular, and thus the most crowded. He could do without that. Horticulture would probably be going outside a lot. He'd prefer to stay indoors whenever possible. Which made it a tie between painting and music. He checked off music without any hesitation, that was at least something he had talent in. Though he doubted there would be very many uses for a concert ukulele, that would assure that he'd be out of the spotlight. As long as the teacher didn't notice his voice or give him a solo, he'd be fine performing in a group.

He handed the sheet back, looking over at his partner.
"I-I'm gonna be taking music, if you don't mind. It's the one elective I'm actually good at, and it's not like we have to be together for all classes. N-N-Not to say you can't join it too, j-just that you don't have to join it if you don't want to." Brilliant explaining, Richard, A+ in oral performance for you. Honestly, why couldn't this day be over and he be left alone already?

Felicity Goldberg

In the short span of a minute, Felicity had come to learn 3 new things. The first was that her partner wanted to be an adventurer. The second was that he would join cooking class with her. And the third was that Monster Hunting, the class that he had just expressed interest in, was now mandatory for their year.

Felicity had never taken a Monster Studies course in her life, not Zoology, Studies of the Arcane, and certainly not Monster Hunting. It certainly sounded frightening, monsters existed everywhere in the world, but they were usually quite dangerous! They were animals that had a much higher level of mana than others, which resulted in their biology changing and powers manifesting in ways that normal animals didn't. As a result, they could endanger people's lives on occasion, and part of the jobs Adventure Guilds dealt with was wrangling or exterminating outbreaks of monster pests. It was definitely an important class to take for an adventurer, but she didn't plan on being an adventurer at all! She was going into fashion!

She looked over at Korrey, but he didn't seem very happy with the change in curriculum. It was hard to gauge how he felt behind his sunglasses, but he seemed tense and was no longer smiling. He quietly made his choices and handed the paper over to the volunteer, and Felicity was quick to follow suit, checking off cooking and monster hunting. Korrey then walked into the other partitioned part of the room to do whatever it was he wanted. It reminded her something of when Monty wanted to be alone, he'd always go off and sulk in his bedroom. The girl tried to mind nothing of it, the new transition could take a toll on anyone.

She instead devoted herself to unpacking, opening up her suitcase and laying out things that had to go where. Laptop and chargers went on the desk, mirror and makeup on top of the dresser, clothes inside of it, shoes in the bottom drawer, and magazines bookshelf. She laid out her new uniform nice and neat on the bed, ready to be worn when class started tomorrow. The entire thing took her probably less than 5 minutes, and when she was done, she stored her suitcase underneath her bed for safe keeping.

She wondered what to do now. Nancy and Monty would probably still be waiting for their partners or getting to know them, and she couldn't go back to the sun room. What was there to do... Oh! She knew! She could go to the library and pickup some books on monsters and monster hunting! That way she wouldn't slow her partner down! Would he like to go with her? He was interested in the course, maybe they could find something together! Then again, he did seem like he wanted to be alone... She shrugged. She'd ask him, the worst he could do was say no. She knocked in the partition doorway to get his attention without invading his space.
"Hey! Um, I'm gonna go and see if the school library is open, and find out if it has any books on monster hunting. Do you wanna come? I've never taken a class like this before, I thought it would be a good idea to be prepared!" There, that was a good invitation! Now she could wait for his answer.

This was taking too long.

To think that these curs would dare make her wait this long, that they would even dare let her stand up like this, that they would dare group her up with these... these peasants! For such a prestigious place, their efficiency and speed left a lot to be desired. Well, the decor was passable, if not for these mongrels in her presence.

Franceska sighed, rubbing her temple. All this stress was giving her a headache.

She did notice the coughing, but did not turn around. Why would she? What sort of uncivilized boor would try to address her that way? But it was impossible to ignore them once they started talking, thus Franceska turned around to see who it was.

"Well now, I didn't expect to find a lady as beautiful as you amongst our student body, nor can I believe that I managed to miss you last year either."

Almost immediately her mind went white, her mouth stretched in a terse smile. Franceska had been here but for an hour, and already there were flies like that flocking to her as if she were leftover scraps of cheese. Were she but a naive girl, with her heart so easily swayed, perhaps this sort of tactic would work. But she was a Vrodiskovich, a woman of honor and virtue! For such a trick, nay, for such an offense to be played upon her was unforgivable.

"My name is Jeanette Blackwood, and if you would be so kind, I would ask that you please except this Erish Rose from my homeland as a gift from me to you. A noble specimen for someone of equally noble bearing."

" 'Tis a fitting gift." She accepted the rose, looking at its beauty. Her mouth curled into a cruel smile.

"For a mongrel."

With those words, she dropped the flower to the floor, making sure Jeanette saw what she did. "Did you truly think a mere flower, no doubt stolen from someone else's garden, would be a fitting gift for one such as I? What more, for a mannerless rogue to approach me so... such insolence!"

Feeling slightly better after releasing some of her pent up stress, she moved as if to walk away, before turning back and stomping her foot on the flower. "Oh dear me, I appear to have stepped on something. OHOHOHOHO~! All this poverty in the air must have made me clumsy!"

Laughing to herself, she moved away from the girl, feeling very satisfied with herself.

Mui Rei

Dead eyes were staring at the altar. This was boring to listen too, they had already gotten an extra pair of priests to bond people a tad faster but it was still going as tragically slow as expected. The ceremony was most likely in her favor again, with her level of luck she was probably as last on the list... Agai. Mui rolled her eyes and gazed the other way simply out of boredom. There was plenty of stuff happening around the room while she was waiting. Perhaps there was promptly something else happening around the room. That was only if she looked clear enough.

Most were just having a nice chat with their old or new friends, took a read or played a game but Mui did not have anything at hand like that right now. To just walk in on someone to start a conversation wasn't the most comfortable feeling in the world either. So she had partly decided that maybe it was indeed better to kill herself off by listening to this boring name list anyway.

Mui her eyes fell on a blond haired girl that was holding an old withered flower. That was definitly a strange thing to hold and see for herself. Mui her eyes kept affixed on the girl with the flower for now after having not seen any other interesting thing to keep her mind busy with. The blonde was doing all kind of things with the flower like moving her hand over it and somewhat made it seem like she was doing some sort of magic trick with it. It felt a little like a freak show but stleast it was fun to watch. At last it looked like she was praying for the flower and with the blink of an eye it bloomed to life again.

Mui her eyes opened up a little giving a small spark of liveliness back to them. That was pretty cool to see that she could do that! The blonde seemed to have found the flower so pretty that she had gotten up to a somewhat more mature and high class looking girl. Like the good person she was Jeanette gave the rose to Franceska seeming all rather sweet and all but was aparently not seen as that at all by the pipe haired girl. Mui her eyes widened as Franceska threw the rose to the ground and stamped on the poor thing. She was casting such harsh words to the sweet girl, how dared she! Not only did she hurt this girl her feelings but she also trampled that poor flower. Mui always had a lot of plants in her room so she caressed these little things to the max.

Mui left her bags standing and rushed at Franceska feeling furious on how she had treated someone else, she was gonna teach this b*tch a lesson once and for all. Pushing her way through the bit of crowd that was in between, she made her way over up close to Franceska and dashed in front of Franceska facing the pipe haired blonde. Her eyes sharpened for a moment as she inhaled deeply through her nose while raising her hand to the side of her. With a swift harsh slap she aimed for the side of Franceska her chest with all the power she had but stopped halfway in, Mui was quiet for a moment as she balded up her fist and let arms hang stretched in front of her while her back was slightly bend forward. Mui seemed rather angry about the whole situation just now, she pulled open her mouth letting go of a few arrogant and somewhat loud words. It was better to swear then physicial contact.

"Hurting other's feeling already stupid twat. Apologise to her now or I'll make you look like that rose on the ground!"

"I see, that's a relief. In the future, if you ever feel like I'm pressuring you into something, inform me. I've been told I often have that effect on people." Of course there were times when he did it intentionally, but those were times when it was necessary. He didn't think it acceptable, however, to act in that manner constantly. Separating his working mentality from his casual one was an exercise that he found was getting increasingly difficult every year as he got older and assumed more responsibilities. It worried him how little this worried him; he didn't find it all that troubling in the moment, but upon reflection he was certain that this way of thinking may not be entirely healthy.

Moving on from that, he addressed a few house rules that he felt were fair.

"First rule - we respect each others' privacy. You don't go through my things without permission and vice versa. If you need something, ask.

"Second rule - Don't bring anyone else into the room unless we're both aware of it.

"Third rule - If you don't want to be disturbed or need privacy, pull the sliding wall. If you need something, knock first.

"I hope those are clear. If you have any problems with these rules, best tell me now, otherwise, how do you feel about going out for a bite to eat?"

After they got this down, he hoped Talia would feel up to stepping outside with him. He felt it'd be good to make use of the ample amount of free time they had as a way to get to know each other better, but it was rather dull doing so while in their own room after they'd just finished unpacking. Better to make use of their time somewhere more pleasant, possibly outside the school at a cafe, if she wasn't adverse to the idea.

Alice Amanda Anette Anderson

Passionate Songbird

Alice patted her on the back. "Hey, leave it to me. I'll get your stuff for you."

Hopefully this would get her to trust her a bit more. She'd defrosted a bit during their time in the infirmary, but Alice wished it didn't take an injury to get to that point. At least it was just a minor sprain. On that note, that was another reason why she disliked wearing heels; they were stylish and all, but an absolute nightmare to move it. Walking with them on was chore enough, but try dancing in them and then you'd know true terror.

And Alice knew true terror.

Back to Mikayla's luggage, she was relieved to find it was where they left it. She also found that the volunteer that was suppose to accomodate them waiting.

"You're kind of late aren't you?" she asked with a little bite. It was unprofessional, after all. They may be students, but they still had a job to do, and she couldn't help but think that if the volunteer had been there earlier Mikayla might have been able to avoid being injured. At least he had the sense to look properly abashed for it.

"I erm, had to go back and get something," he explained. Just as Alice was about to ask what it was, the volunteer pulled out a sweater, which design she recognized intimately.

Or more precisely, that was her on the sweater, standing in the spotlight on the stage she preformed on last year.

The sweater was part of the merchandise they sold after the show, and from her knowledge, pretty pricey. Among the core cast, her sweaters sold the least, which wasn't a big surprise - among those performing as main characters, she was the newbie; she might have a fan base, but they were small in comparison. That being the case, she still knew what it meant when a random stranger pulled a jacket of her in front of her all of a sudden.

"Could you please sign this?" Of course.

"Er, why don't we get my stuff to my room first? My partners kind of waiting." Speaking of, Alice picked up Mikayla's luggage herself. "Let's stop by the clinic first. My partner will probably want her luggage first." Nodding, the flustered volunteer threw the sweater over his back and lugged Alices' luggage behind him. They got to the clinic quickly enough, and Alice entered with a smile.

"Hey, I got our stuff. I'm ready to go when you are."

Such… insolence.

Franceska spared the small girl who dared stand in her presence half a glance, regarding the newcomer with cold eyes and an upward tilt in her jaw. St. Fortuna had come highly recommended, which was the only reason she had deigned to grace this place with her presence. Yet, the mere existence of these undesirables had begun to convince her otherwise. To think that they were in the same institution as her, an esteemed Vrodiskovich, and they had never bothered to at least learn basic manners. How boorish. Like overcooked macaroni, these peasants were beyond redemption.

Alas, not everyone was born to bear the weight of a name worth far more than any words could hold.

She could shed enlightenment into their ignorance. But Franceska didn’t find herself in a generous mood today, so she wouldn’t. Let the mongrels chase tails and fetch sticks to their hearts' content. She would whip them into shape some other day, when she wasn’t wearing something she would miss.

“Ah, I thought I heard something.” The corner of her mouth twitched into a humourless smile. “Ohohoho~~ As expected of mutts, always snarling at their betters. Why don’t you run along now? Back to whatever vapid amusement that your kind likes to wallow in?” As she spoke, Franceska sidestepped, leaving the scene and the fuming girl behind her.

Talia Nitro

"I see, that's a relief. In the future, if you ever feel like I'm pressuring you into something, inform me. I've been told I often have that effect on people." Talia did a little hand salute in a playful manner and said "Will do." She stood there silently also as she waited for him to lay down the law, which knowing him so far, he would do so. He had this sense of high maintenance around him, definitely a factor of where he came from. Noble families are always expected to be among the highest in terms of class and responsibility, at least that's what Talia thought.

She listened carefully as Leo went over the rules. "First rule - we respect each others' privacy. You don't go through my things without permission and vice versa. If you need something, ask. Alright that one seemed simple enough, after all, she didn't really have any motive to go snooping around other people's belongings, it seemed pointless to her.

"Second rule - Don't bring anyone else into the room unless we're both aware of it. Well this one shouldn't be too hard, seeing as she barely knew anyone there. Plus it wouldn't be that hard to just let Leo know prior if she ever did have friends over.

"Third rule - If you don't want to be disturbed or need privacy, pull the sliding wall. If you need something, knock first So this one tied into privacy also. It's a good one, laying down a 'safe space' of sorts. She'd try to keep this in mind if ever she came knocking. All these rules seemed reasonable, she had nothing wrong with any of these, they all seemed fair. "Alright, I'll try to uphold the rules of this humble abode as best I can..." she reassured him.

With that established Leo brought up something that peaked her interest. He mentioned going out and getting food. This brought a smile to her face. "Y-Yeah sure! I think I saw a cafe on the way here, if you'd like we could head over there, or just see the town in general. Perhaps we'll happen upon a hidden treasure." She seemed overly excited about this, after all it combined some of her favorite things. Food and friends.

Jeanette Blackwood

It took everything that Jeanette had not to pulled the snobbish bitch back over to her by her hair. While it was hardly the first time she had gotten rejected, it was the first time anyone had reacted in such an over-blown and down-right cruel matter. Not to mention that, despite the seeming ease she passed along the rose, it was very important to her as it had been given to her by her Grandmother to practice her magic with on the way over. Now she could only look down on it, remembering to take deep breaths as she picked it up off the ground. She could still feel the life within it, it could still be saved.

Keep your cool, Jen. Don't let her know she got to you. You've dealt with plenty of bitches through middle school, and you know exactly how to deal with them. She'll get hers in time, but for now, just grin and bear it. Placing the crushed rose into her jacket pocket once more, she simply brushed a hand through her hair, looking only vaguely irritated to anyone who had been watching the exchange. However, she couldn't help but hear a bit of a commotion behind her. Turning around, she couldn't help but feel a slight grin grace her face as she saw the short-ish girl from before putting turning that aggressive nature of hers against the blonde diva, though to predictably little effect. Still, Jeanette couldn't help but feel touched that the girl had gone out of her way to defend someone she barely new, and couldn't help but feel like she had mis-judged them a bit earlier. Walking over to stand next to them, Jeanette flicked at the bell around her neck to alert the girl to her presence before she started speaking.

"Easy there, Lass. No need to get so worked up on my account over the tactless geebag." Laying off the charming for now, Jeanette let her Erish accent and way of speaking slip out a bit more, including some of the brashness and foulmouth that had gotten her more than one mouth washing from her grandmother. "Gals like her always get what's comin' to them, usually sooner rather than later."

"Either way, allow me to properly introduce myself. I am Jeanette Blackwood." With a bit of a flourish, Jen turned to face Mui, putting her hand forward in greeting. When Mui went out to shake it, however, Jen would be quick to bring it to her lips, laying a light kiss along the girl's knuckles before flashing a wide grin. She made sure that she bent down slightly while she did so, as not to jerk the shorter girl's arm or have it be held at an uncomfortable angle. "A pleasure to meet you. And what would your name be, my white knight in frilly armor?"

However Mui responded to Jen's introduction, the Erish girl would be unable to respond as the Sun Room would suddenly reverberate with the call for another pair.

"Jeanette Blackwood and Franceska Vrodiskovich."

"Well, I guess I have to be off and meet my new partner. I hope we can meet again soon. We'll be having at least one class together, but until then, ta-ta. I hope you get yourself a good partner." With that said, Jeanette made her way up to the open podium with a bit of a hop and a skip in her step, wondering who this Vrodiskovich person was, what they would be like. Well, I'll be finding out soon enough, won't I?

Korrigan 'Korrey' Umbraisis

"Yeah, I could go for that." was Korrey's muffled reply as he contemplated the current situation before letting out another sigh. "Never hurts to brush up on the stats of certain monsters, and since we have no idea what we'll be steppin' into on the first day, good idea to be prepped for anythin'. Heard that this teacher can be a real hard-ass." Stretching out slightly, Korrey walked over to the glass case that Vulcan was in, opening it up to let the little guy out. Like a bolt of lightning, he crawled up Korrey's arm and rested himself atop his left shoulder, looking about with that same happy, yet dopey expression.

Franceska was quick to go back to what she was doing before, which was to say that she was seething at their brutish headmaster. How dare this vile idiot keep someone of her status waiting. She briefly played with the idea of making her father purchase the school so she could instill a sense of discipline into this dog and pony show they call an academy, but she pushed that thought away. These peasants didn't deserve Vrodiskovich money, after all.

"Jeanette Blackwood and Franceska Vrodiskovich."

By the time Jeanette's name was called along side her own she had forgotten who 'Jeanette Blackwood' was. Franceska didn't care to waste her energy on remembering the names of faceless mongrels like the girl who had accosted her only minutes ago. She walked towards the podium with none of the other girl's enthusiasm, instead taking each step in a careful and measured manner, her cocky smile painted onto her face. A Vrodiskovich, of course, always must be the height of style and coolness.

When she saw the Blackwood girl her smile turned into a distinct scowl. She looked towards the headmaster and then the two druids in confusion. "Do you think that I'd bind myself to this vicious clod, let alone touch them?" she announced aloud, her voice strong enough that several of the students towards the front of the room could likely hear her. However, Franceska's expression turned into a slight grin after a moment of contemplation, a chuckle breaking out of her, "Ohohohoho~! I understand, this is a joke. I'll give it to you headmaster, this jape is mildly amusing, sending this simpleton to annoy me and then presenting her as my servant. Very funny, but let's send the real one up now, don't want to keep the rest of the peasants waiting."

Whether Franceska was being condescending or if she actually thought Jeanette's presence was a joke remained to be seen.

After she had spoken out her mind towards the girl a downlooking glare was looming over her head. Mui straightened her back and folded her arms over each other. Her head was slightly tilted forward, she was definitly feeling somewhat conspicuous of the pipe haired girl in front. Mui was casting back a mad glare at the girl to show her she definitly didn't feel happy to encounter her either.

The first few words comming from her already had Mui provoked by them. Mui lightly strengthened the finger in her balled up fist as her teeth softly gritted against each other in her mouth. She felt so mad about the whole existence of this girl but didn't want to show her that she was this mad already. It would only help her provoke Mui more.

The girl continued on letting her mouth run wild by calling her a mutt and telling her to sod off and the likes. Her eye gave off a quick twitch showing that she felt quite irritated by these few lines already. Curled hairs really thought she was some sort of queen or anything alike jeez. Curls was quick to leave already, she was probably being called on stage or something. Mui stood there for a mere more moment to progress the hatred for this girl. She muttered a few words through her grinding teeth as she patiently let go of the fist she had been holding ready.

"I'm gonna kill her!..."

Mui let out a soft recollecting breath of calmth and let her arms fall down by her side letting go off all the tension. The girl she was trying to defend got up to her and told Mui to basically chill a little. Mui took a quick glance at the girl before moving her eyes the other way.

"I know... She just acted like a shithead."

It was noticable that the girl didn't appear to be orginally from Prydian but rather elsewhere. It was a little hard to guess since Mui hadn't heard the accent all too much. Jean continued telling her on how these typs always got what they deserved at the end.

"If I see her once more it won't end well... Probably."

Her last words died down a at the end of her voice. She wasn't as good of a talker like most. Jean kindly introduced herself to Mui with a handshake. Mui took a moment to look at her and her hand becore turning her eyes away again patiently shoving her hand towards the blonde girl. As she placed her hand in that of Jean's she felt as if she was lightly being tugged towards her. With a surprised expression she took a step forward turning her eyes back to Jean once more. What appeared to be happening was that Jean had gotten her hand towards her face and cherished it by a kiss. As the lips left Mui her hand she janked it back as way of saying it was of her alone. She slightly moved her body away from the girl looking a bit shocked by that.

"M-Mui, my name is Mui. Did you have to do that! It was a little sudden d-don't you think..."

Mui had met a strange girl... She was calling her a knight in frilly armor? And acting like she had just met her love or her true princess or something with that kiss on the hand... Very strange. The sudden name calling made the girl have to excuse herself from their conversation at the weirdest possible moment. Mui was so confused on what had all just happened. With a big of a confused expression she waved after her.

"Uh, yea, bai I guess..."
