Two Years Ago, today...

The student body of Shiroyama High School was rigorously assembled. They had not been told why they were meeting, nor had they been told how long it would be. Just that attendance was mandatory, and that they would be privy to some newly-instated school rules. Most of the students didn't have any idea what these rules would be. Shiroyama High School, one of Japan's fourteen battle schools, had been an easier place then most of them fought. Battles were hardly mandatory and when they did occur they were usually over pretty quickly. Indeed, Shiroyama had a reputation as the 'slacker school' among the battle schools, and for a while it seemed as if it would be out of the running for any kind of tournaments that may have occurred. It seemed like Japan's number of battle schools was destined to go down by one, now.

At least, that's how it had seemed.

Until she stepped onto the stage.

Radiant and resplendent, there walked the stage Yukimura Atsuko. Her flowing, black hair, and fair, beautiful features... the militaristic, heavily-modified school uniform... In her hand, she clutched the sheath of a katana.

Following behind her was another girl, much shorter, much more young-looking. She was clad in a less modified uniform, this one more along the lines of the standard sailor uniform... only pink and blue.

When Atsuko reached the center of the stage, she stopped. The black-haired girl turned on her heel to face the assembled students of Shiroyama High School, slamming the tip of her sheathed katana down on the wooden stage with a sound that echoed through the room. The murmuring students found themselves suddenly falling quiet.

"Students of Shiroyama High School!" declared Yukimura Atsuko, her voice carrying across the room, "I, your new Student Council President, have seen what kind of school this is. One of indolence and relaxation, hardly worthy of being known as one of Japan's Fourteen Prestigious Battle High Schools! This is an outrageous and unacceptable degeneration!"

An irritated muttering swept over some of the crowd, but another slam from Atsuko's sheathed katana silenced them for the moment.

"As a result, I have worked with Shiroyama's faculty. This school is in need of a drastic restructuring in order to ensure that it does not lose its place among the fourteen schools! I have created a new set of rules, and incentives to temper yourselves in battle!"

"Oi oi!" interjected a voice from the crowd, a boy. He had a jacket, a pompadour... stereotypical delinquent, it seemed, "Whaddaya doing, messing with our daily school lives? What if we like it all relaxed 'n stuff?"

He placed a heavy AE club on one shoulder, like a baseball bat.

"... Then you cannot be considered a student of Shiroyama High School," Atsuko responded.

"Eeeehhh?" the male student glared, "... Fine! You wanna battle!? I'll knock your block off!"

Raising his bat, the boy charged the stage and leaped onto it.

What happened next was almost impossible to observe. Atsuko's arm had moved, but her katana had remained sheathed. The delinquent boy had been sent across the stage, skidding across the wooden floor, unconscious. He rolled off silently and fell to the ground with a thump.

"... As I was saying! I have put in place a new set of rules for all students of Shiroyama High School!" the resplendent girl declared, "These rules will be conveyed to you via the tablets each student has been provided with!"

Indeed, there was a box at the feet of each student. Within was an identical tablet, labeled with the student's name and a... chibi of the girl who was accompanying the Student Council President, winking and giving the thumbs up.

"Be prepared to regain this school's lost glory, Students of Shiroyama High School!"

Present Day

It has been two years since the new rules were introduced. In those two years, Shiroyama High School had become one of the most intense and competitive of the fourteen Battle Schools in Japan. In those two years, the rules that determined rank and student privileges had brought a vast change over the student body.

But right now, it was lunch time.

Right now, students were having their meals.

Right now, it had been a day since the rather explosive lunch time of the previous day. Akamatsu Yuusuke, a Level 10 student, had felt rather cocky and decided to pick on the transfer girl who had shown up earlier that day. First he tried hitting on her, and then mocking her when she turned him down. Then he got angry.

Moments later, he had been flat on his back, a thin cut along the front of his body. He'd been defeated in seconds by a Level 0 student no-one had seen fight before.

That Level 0 student had promptly declared that her goal was to defeat Shiroyama's Unbreakable Student Council President.

That Level 0, or rather, that Level 5 student was now eating lunch on the roof.

Chiba Chinatsu's lunch consisted of octopus-shaped sausages, egg, rice, some vegetables... umeboshi in the rice, as well. All in all, it was fine and she was fine with eating it. It didn't particularly leave an impact on her. It was just something to eat. She didn't need anything more then that. Her focus, today, was instead on her goals for her time at Shiroyama High School.

Her single goal, rather. To defeat Yukimura Atsuko. Absolutely, completely, defeat Yukimura Atsuko. Chinatsu was determined not only to beat the Student Council President, but beat any student that stood in the way of her doing so. She'd take on the whole school if she really had to.

But for now, no-one else had stood up and challenged her yet. So she quietly remained, eating her lunch.

Ryu was sheathed on her lower back. Indeed, nearly all students carried their weapons on them at all times. In this regard, Chinatsu was no different. So far, she had rejected using her battle points, or any privileges offered to her by her rank up. She hadn't even chosen to modify her uniform, nor had she joined any clubs.

Chiba Chinatsu was perhaps something of enigma.

But right now, students all across the vast school grounds were simply enjoying lunch.

For now.

But who could say what would happen on this Daily Battlefield?

Uesugi Fumie

Click!

The almost imperceptible sound of a shutter clicking was carried by the wind on the roof. Just around the corner from the transfer student, sitting in shade of the rooftop building, was Uesugi Fumie, her own lunch on the bench beside her.

Fumie found this new girl interesting, and what was probably the most interesting thing about her was that no one knew anything about her. And for Fumie, that was the ultimate forbidden fruit.

Almost as imperceptibly, Fumie delicately placed her camera back in her bag. Then she picked up her own lunch and began to dig in.

Hmm. Her food was twice as appetizing with the tantalizing prospect of an ultimate unknown right around the corner.

Yokoi Kaito

Meanwhile, in one of the school's courtyards, Kaito sat, having just finished off his own lunch. He packed away his bentou box before standing up and stretching. It was calm, but Kaito knew that wouldn't last.

Nah, he thought, unsheathing his AEDs, it wouldn't last at all. By the end of the day, he would bet his bottom dollar that at least seven more fights would go down on the school grounds.

Kaito looked around the courtyard. There weren't that many students here. Most people would be in the cafeteria... maybe he should head there. But then again... maybe he should enjoy the calm while he could.

...

Hah, who was he kidding?

He looked around, seeing if anyone here looked like they might be a good challenge.

In the courtyard, dealing cards on a foldable table, was Megumi. The table itself, despite being a bit shabby, stood firmly on the ground. The cards on it, surprisingly, didn't get blown away by the wind. Around the table; Megumi and some flunkies from the 'Shiroyama's Decadent Failures and Disruptive Elements' Club. Lost in some meaningless chatter between each other while playing cards.

Another notable thing on the table, were the stacks of chips. Shiroyama's Decadent Failures and Disruptive Elements Club were at it again, they seemed to be gambling during school times. Some might wonder about a delicate-looking girl like her, gambling with delinquents, but as the round of cards had ended and she drew all of the chips close, it was clear she managed just fine.

Megumi collected the cards and smiled, then with nary a word, she left. The delinquents followed her with defeated looks in their eyes.

"Now...What shall I have you guys buy for me today?"

Yukazu Megumi might not have been on this school for too long, but it was already clear to her she could teach these guys a few tricks.

Normally, when you saw a cute girl with a radiant, malice-free smile bright enough to lift your very soul from crushing darkness, said smile was not met with recoils of fear and dread. Usually, someone with such a demeanour would be cheerfully greeted by her peers, or perhaps even openly admired by smitten bystanders.

As it turned out, carrying a six-foot tall axe over your shoulder as if it weighed less than a feather was a great tool of intimidation.

Yamada Chie, a girl with the kindest smile you could ever imagine, patrolled the grounds with a cheerful hum, revelling in how totally obvious her delinquency was.

The head of the Decadent Failures etc. Club was currently exercising her influence to the other students, as she tended to do during lunch. Part of her role as a delinquent was to make it obvious she was 'looking for trouble', and an unfortunate student was likely to be bullied a little for some spare battle points. Or lunch money. Or whatever they had in their pocket. It could be a candy wrapper for all Chie cared, as long as it was something she could steal in the name of delinquency!

She came to a stop in the grounds, looking around with a cheerful expression. There was a transfer student that had made a bit of a name for herself, right? Hopefully she was around somewhere. It was part of Chie's duty to remind transfer students who the 'top dog' was in school, right? Better to do that sooner than later. Wouldn't want the newbies to embarrass themselves by doing something that would anger her club members.

"...Actually, wouldn't it make sense to let them make the mistake in the first place?"

As Chie pondered this conundrum, she spotted some familiar faces from her club; Megumi being the most notable. Unlike the generic-faced students that made up the majority of her club members, Megumi was unique. Must've been the mysticism angle she seemed to have going?
The leader of the school's undesirables walked towards the table at a casual pace, practically unnoticeable if one were to somehow ignore the axe.

"Hiii~" Chie greeted her club members like a good friend, "Oohh, a game? Who's winning?"

Courtyard

Tsukada Red glided along the path through the courtyard, looking down at her phone to watch again the final, fleeting moments of yesterdays fight. If it could even be called that. The final blows were too fast for the phones camera to follow, something that was true for whatever other videos that had appeared on social media. Not even his skills could get anything useful out of the footage side from a handful of halfway decent single frames. Obviously a higher quality camera would have to be used in the future.

He kicked off again as his momentum faded, gliding on the path as if it were the most perfect ice. Ren put away the phone and took a sandwich out of his bag. He ate while thinking over the idea of spending some battle pints on a new camera. For a lot of fights lately what he currently had just didn't cut it. Around him people seemed to be coming to the end of theirs meals and one or two began sizing each other up, something that Ren seemed oblivious to.

Another day, another struggle for Isobe Ruyji to find motivation to go on. Yet, he was seasoned in the way of martial arts, he would find inner strength still to pursue such a misaligned path in the current circumstances. Would he persevere? Mayhaps not, but it was certain that all of his being compelled him to do something about his current situation.

He had pursued his training as a mean of achieving inner peace, and yet here he was, in a place that was anathema to his philosophy, a battle school. He meditated again the chain of events that had led up to this contradictory stance. He had been tricked. But he was not one to hold grudge against someone. Those kinds of things could eat away someone's soul. He felt something was eating his soul away altogether, namely the fact he had not started having his lunch yet, wich was resting in the firm grip of his concrete-shattering hands. With an swiftness that didn't quite match his size and bulk, he made it for the rooftops, curry bread in hand. He liked the place. Usually not many bothered there, and sometimes little birds happened to approach him to eat away the crumbs of his meal. It was an odd peaceful moment of the otherwise action packed school.

Alas, it seemed that no meditation would happen today. There she was, the new student who had begun her path in one of the most flamboyant manners possible. By declaring the intention to defeat the leader of the school. While it was a true honest intention, and for that Ryuji felt respect towards, there was something in the new girl that worried him, Isobe Ryuji.

He sat next to her, and unceremonously unwrapped his curry bread, eyes fixed on the newcomer as he wolfed down his paltry lunch. Moderation was also part of his way.

"Out of all ways someone can lose their soul in battle, revenge is by far the most tragic one. Be careful, transfer student."

Was he doing the right thing? He did not know. He suddenly wished he knew how to talk to girls.

Chinatsu continued to quietly eat, eyes gazing out over the sprawling school grounds, and the glimmers of the somewhat distant city nearby... This school was under the rule of the one she was determined to defeat. And yet, no matter what that could mean for her, she would not give up on her goal. Indeed, she would never give up on her goal. At least, not until she had fulfilled it. For now, the twintailed girl remained seated, eating her lunch.

At least, until... this... huge guy sat next to her. He was enormous, and he had some kind of curry bread or something. The tiny girl eyed him for a few moments, a sideways glance. What was he doing? Why was he there? Chinatsu didn't know. Why did he have to sit almost on top of her like that? What was with that? She shifted uncomfortably, giving the huge guy that same, rather intense, sideways glare. What did she do to deserve some guy who looked like he ate whole cows almost sitting directly on top of her? This was far too mundane to be some kind of challenge, but it still felt... felt... it felt annoying, that's how it felt!

After a few moments of discomfort and irritation, Chinatsu nearly about to complain, he suddenly offered a bit of... advice? Revenge? She narrowed her eyes. What, did he claim that he knew her or something? How could he? She'd certainly never spoken to him before. She'd never have spoken to some enormous guy with no concern for personal space.

"... What are you doing?" she asked, finally, placing her bento aside. "If you really have to sit up here, you have the entire roof. Is the meaning of 'personal space' somehow foreign to you?"

It was surprisingly peaceful for a school built upon the concept of students fighting each other. That could just be because it was lunch time and normal people were enjoying their lunches instead of fighting each other. One such person who had been enjoying his lunch was the head of the music club located in a corner of the courtyard. He had been enjoying the down time as he listened to music and sifted through his student database tablet looking through ranks and the different types of weapons some of the students used.

Kawaguchi Shin was not a big supporter of the battle system that started the year that he entered high school, though it did have its benefits like now when he needed to get his hands on new equipment for his club. The tricky part was he couldn't just go pick a fight with just anyone as not everyone gave the same amount of points meaning he would have to fight someone his rank or higher probably to make it worth it. There was also always the option for a club battle but that could be trouble as the music club was running low on membership at the moment and there didn't have much to put up as a reward for the battle.

Shin let out a small sigh as even with his headphones on, it didn't completely filter out how loud the delinquents of the school were being at the other side of the courtyard. It was a club heads job to manage their members and make sure they didn't do anything to embarrass the club, thought it just seemed that Yamamoto Chie enjoyed encouraging those behaviors instead. Maybe it could be time to teach her what it actually meant to the head of a club. That would have to wait though as lunch seemed to be wrapping up soon and Shin wanted to do a little more research on Chie's strengths and weaknesses before throwing down the challenge.

As the club president approached and asked about the game, Megumi laughed loudly. "I've just won, naturally." She considered continuing to the cafeteria, but decided against it, instead simply 'accepting' the other delinquents' money and returning to the game table.

"So, prez, what're you up to? Take anyone's lunch money yet?"

She ended her question with a chuckle, to imply she was joking. But then again, it wouldn't have been the first time... She looked around a bit to see if ther was anyone interesting to fight, but concluded no one interesting was in sight. Maybe Chie knew someone fun to beat up? or maybe... Maybe she could just fight Chie instead? She abandoned the thought. Even if she were to somehow win (which she considered unlikely) the battle points would just end up in the same club; an inproductive use of time.

"Actually, scrap lunch money, do you think we could get some easy BP somewhere? Maybe we could pair up and fight another team?"

With a sigh, Megumi pondered her dilemma. She'd gone to a battle school to... well, battle, but very few people decided her to be worth the effort of a fight yet. As a rank 0 fighter, beating her would grant relatively few battle points after all.

In the sea of students, Kazuya was easy to pick out. He was taller than most of the student body, so his mop of white hair stood out like a seeding dandelion. There was also his AED: It was a mop and bucket. He wheeled them along with him, paper bag in hand. One of the wheels on the bucket was bad, so it clacked every few revolutions as he made his way to the delinquents table.

"You're Chie, right?" Kazuya said as he approached them. It was a well-known fact that Kazuya was the mos useless student in school. He had an impressive record: Out of over a hundred fights, he had won precisely zero. Here he was, headed over to them, showing no fear. This was, of course, the exact sort of behavior that led to him constantly getting beat up.

"You're the president of the Disruptive Elements Club, right?" She seemed nice, and he might have even found her approachable. But he knew that she could probably take him out in one hit. Beneath the loving, affectionate exterior, he'd heard there was a psychopath who killed people for fun. In other words, exactly the sort of person he wanted to associate with. He'd still thought it best to bring an offering. Reaching into the bag, he produced a cup of tapioca pudding.

"I'm Kazuya. I have a vendetta against the student council myself." He said, looking her in the eye with his red ones. "I want to take out Atsuko." He said, at the same time taking out a second cup of pudding from the bag. "I'd like to join you, if you'd have me." He was either very brave, or very stupid, or he was just aware of the fact that beating him up was at this point barely worth it.

"...Do I have to get 'jumped in?'" He asked.

Ichihara Ban

Under one of the few trees in the courtyard, a young man sat lazily, leaning against the thick trunk of the flora that stretched above him. Anyone that tried to sit near him was greeted with a menacing glare that usually led to them shifting away uncomfortably.

Ban was just trying to enjoy his lunch, on his plate were heaping mounds of food, it took a lot to keep him going and satisfied. Halfway through eating, Ban noticed a girl hesitantly approaching him. Here we go... He thought to himself, scowling immediately. The girl seemed to notice his face but persisted still.

"Heyyy Ban, I was wondering if you wanted to eat lunch with my friends and I" She asked innocently.

Ban scoffed and pointed at what was left of his food, "too late," he replied bluntly.

"Come on, you always sit alone, how about you try and make some fr-"

"I'm fine, now get out of my face already will ya? I'm trying to finish my lunch." Ban replied coldly, annoyance creeping in.

The girl huffed and turn on her heels, stalking off to presumably go talk shit to her friends at another table.

Not much later, Ban was approached once again. At this point he had finished his meal and was watching the recent battles on his tablet. He had a fascination with watching the fights, analyzing people's strengths, people's weaknesses. A rolled up napkin hit him in the face and drew him out of his trance of the tablet. At first Ban kind of just looked up in surprise, who in their right mind would approach the Savage of Shiroyama with that kind of disrespect? A few students around him watched raptly, wondering what Ban would do next. He assumed the kid had to be a first year, someone who didn't know any better.

The kid looked at Ban with a mix of anger and fear. Ban smiled, if you could call it that, it looked like the face of a predator about to pounce on its prey. Ichihara slowly got to his feet, leaving the tablet on the ground and glared down at the first year.

"Are you retarded?" Ban asked seriously.

The kid gave him a confused look and then masked it with anger. "You were an ass to my sister," he replied, Ban took a step forward, the kid took a step backwards.

"So?" Ban smiled predatorily once again, enjoying the way the kid started to squirm under his gaze.

"So... I challenge you to a fight!" The boy blurted out. Ban crossed his arms and remained quiet for a few moments before letting out a burst of laughter. The kid looked at him confused as Ban's eyes filled with actual tears from laughing so hard.

"That's a riot kid, it'd be a slaughter not a fight. Come back to me when you're over rank 20 okay bud?"

The boy looked like he was about to walk away until he suddenly ran forward and attempted to land a haymaker on Ban's jaw, letting out a noise that resembled some sort of war cry. Ban smirked and caught the punch, absorbing the impact more or less. He gripped the boy's fist bone-crushingly tight before throwing the fist away from his body, effectively spinning the boy away from him. This resulted in the boy becoming unbalanced and he ended up on his ass before he knew what hit him.

"Sorry kid, come back when you're stronger. Put my face on a punching bag or something, you'll get there eventually.... maybe."

Ban knew he had created a scene, but at least he hadn't completely humiliated the kid in an actual fight. These first years needed to realize what they were up against. He returned to his seat under the tree and continued watching fights on his tablet, acting as if nothing had ever happened.

Chie chuckled pleasantly at Megumi's questions, planting the head of her axe on the ground, with the shaft towering above Chie's maximum height. With the air of someone discussing typical club activities, the delinquent responded, "lunch money day's tomorrow, Yukazu-chan~ AS for easy battle points..."

Chie tilted her head, deep in thought. Certainly, there were plenty of sources of 'easy' points... those points were just a pittance at this point. Even if her lower-ranked club members were to consistently defeat higher-ranked students, the gain would be relatively small and short-lived anyway. At this point, she'd need to seriously consider fighting or absorbing other clubs to make any substantial gains.

As a model delinquent, Chie would need to find the most under-handed method to defeat them all, correct?

During her musings, something very unexpected happened: A student actually spoke to her.

Chie glanced at the white-haired boy with wonder, taken-aback by his bold approach. It was rare for anyone to speak to her so fearlessly during school hours these days. Actually, come to think of it... that mop and bucket, the white hair... wasn't this person...

...

...

...

"...Ah, right," Chie momentarily released her axe to tap a fist into her open palm in realisation, and casually returned to holding the weapon before gravity could claim it, "Kazuya Kazama, right? Hello~" she greeted him after he introduced himself. Probably one of the weakest students to grace this school, if his win/loss ratio was any indication.

Such a person wanted to become a delinquent, huh? Well, there was only one answer to such a ridiculous question.

"Sure~" Chie nodded happily, "you'll need to start at the bottom, but as long as you can follow our rules, you'll be allowed to customise your own uniform before too long! How exciting..."

Chie turned her gaze towards Megumi, continuing, "this is Yukazu Megumi, she'll be your senpai for a bit~ Yukazu-chan, please make sure he settles into the club, okay? And remember, no bullying the newbie until the 48-hour grace period is over~ Ah, and of course..."

Suddenly adopting an exaggerated scowl, Chie once more rounded on her new recruit, speaking in a forced, deep voice that seemed more like a parody of stereotypical trouble-makers than an actual delinquent, "Ya gotta learn to act tough if ya wanna be taken seriously, ya got me?"
The high-schoolers features melted back into the usual radiant smile, completely unashamed of how silly she must have sounded. Such was the power of Yamamoto Chie.

Fashion Club President Suzie, Shiroyama High Cafeteria

It was the best seat in the entire cafeteria. She'd made sure of it, of course, having picked it out early on during her first year at the school. A large table, albeit not too big (she wouldn't want any nameless losers getting ideas and trying to sit near her), situated near the window... She could watch the cherry blossoms fall during spring, bask in the sun during summer, approvingly glance as the leaves changed into their fashionable autumn suits, and serenely admire the snow as it fell during winter. Even nature knew that fashions changed as time passed, and it was something that reassured her. Some would call her shallow, but she knew the truth. Being this beautiful wasn't easy, but it was worth it.

After all, power is beautiful, and thus beauty was power.

And in all of Shiroyama High, there was no-one as self-assured of their own powerful beauty then her. Suzume Tsukasa, but please, just call her "Suzie". She insists. Some of the flunkies, fans and hangers-on that surrounded her had probably even forgetten that Suzie was just a nickname. Then again, aside from her and a small handful of others, the Fashion Club were a bunch of morons, their brains clearly addled by the bleach soaked into their hair and by the lamps of tanning salons. Suzie was the one who had brought them to their current lauded status, and according to her philosophy that only served to reinforce the fact that she was clearly the most beautiful girl in school.

"Like, so what's the sitch with this new girl, y'know?" Suzie thought aloud as she ate her lunch. She'd almost finished, but she'd saved the best part for last; a bunch of small riceballs made to look like cutesy baby pandas. She'd always had a bit of a weakness for cute things, really. "She, like, totally just walks on in like she owns the place and, like, totally beats someone that higher level than her? And with that outdated ensembled? Puh-lease! Girl is in serious need of a makeover, y'know what I mean?"

Wrinkling her nose in disgust as half the fashion club and a bunch of other students who just wanted to bask in her glory nodded like automatons, the most popular gal in Shiroyama High daintily lifted one of the rice pandas between her lacquered nails and popped it in her mouth. Seriously, that girl... Hopefully she wouldn't be as much of a pain in the ass as Atsuko was.

Himawari Yuri, Cafeteria

Eating lunch at one of the most noticeable tables in the whole school had never been part of Yuri's plan to avoid notice and stay out of the way of the school's more belligerent lot. No matter how nice the spot was, there was no way that it could justify the trouble that came with sitting there. But for a member of the Fashion Club, eating somewhere else would have been more trouble. On the plus side, eating with the rest of the club when possible was much like curling up next to pride of lions; she would be all the more noticeable a target but not that many people would be willing to start a fight over it.

On occasion, it could still be more trouble than it was worth: Suzume's constant need to give everyone nicknames was just troublesome. Her own, for one, had taken her over a week to work out where the older girl had gotten it from. It would have been easier if the girl had shown some respect, not that it was likely, for other students not being so fluent in English nor so good at speaking it... ironic as that might be.

The tan girl spared a jealous glance at the cutesy food. It wasn't that she wanted such cute food to eat, at all... but could Suzie go just one hour without flaunting her wealth at all costs? Not only did she have access to good, fresh food, she could even get it made with stupid artistic flourishes. Then eat the cute panda riceballs like it was worth even less than the convenience-store lunch Yuri was picking away at!

Had anyone else started acting like beating someone of a higher level was strange--or if she lost her wits and wanted to draw attention to her carefully preserved Rank 0 status--then Yuri might have pointed out that anyone who wanted to advance would try and defeat the higher ranks by definition. Instead, she straightened her bog-standard uniform and went for something that was hopefully somewhere between "vaguely intelligent" and "sufficiently concurrent". "She's a transfer student with something to prove. It could be considered an achievement that she got the right uniform. At least she cares enough about her appearance that she isn't walking around in rags."

Ryuji stood still for a brief moment, his eyes eyeing his conversation partner thoughtfully. With one of his massive hands, he rubbed his chin thoughtfully, as he hummed an assent to what the girl was saying.

"Personal space, huh...but we're not really fighting now." Isobe pieced together. What meaning was there to bring the subject of one's own space, where one could fight comfortable within their own reach? Was that it, personal space? He didn't fully understand the girl but he pressed on, as he stood up and patted his own clothes, his own massive height now blotting the light. "What am I doing? I guess I was going to offer some friendly advice so as to not waste my trip into the roof I guess. That huh, was my favorite spot."

He said.

"Please treat it well, I am now going to find a new spot. Nice to meet you. I'm Isobe Ryuji." Ryuji added as he began to walk away from the girl, his thoughts wandering on more mundane matters, such as the budget for tomorrow. His large hands comically opened a wallet with childish embroidery, completely with -RAWR- written in western letters and a badly sewn blue Tyrannosaurus.

Not much left, huh. He pondered. And is if inviting the misfortune, a draft of wind took his last banknote.

"Ah, bugger!" Isobe added as he chased the speeding banknote with his conditioned body. It was not too much of an effort, given how fast had he become and why there was a strong wind and the ground coming closer?

I jumped out of the roof, huh. Isobe shrugged, eyeing up a fall that could potentially kill someone normal. But he had training, and resilience, so he channeled his body ki and concentrated. And there came the landing, with a loud sound, and Isobe himself using his mighty hands and legs to cushion the impact. After which he got up, and patting againg his clothes, put his money back in the wallet, as whispers went around his surroundings.

"...no way. Is that guy even human?"

"Who is that idiot..."

"...I don't want to fight that guy, that was insane..."

"...that wallet is HORRIBLE..."

Whoops. Thought Isobe as he scratched the back of his head thoughtfully.

"..."

Fighting? What? No, they weren't fighting, though given how annoying this guy was being maybe they should. But truthfully, Chinatsu wanted to at least finish her lunch before getting into any other battles. Not that she'd hesitate if someone attacked her, but to put it simply she'd like to at least finish eating. But the guy just wouldn't let up. Advice? She didn't feel that she particularly needed that little bit of 'advice' at all. He had also decided to stand directly in the path of the sunlight, like some sort of man-shaped eclipse. That was pretty annoying too, and none of what he was doing really made sense. Well, okay, she took his spot, but... still. At least he had the decency to introduce himself.

And then, fumbling with an awful wallet, Isobe Ryoji jumped off the roof.

"..."

Well, okay then. If that was what he wanted to do, Chinatsu wasn't about to stop him after he'd bothered her during lunch. It wasn't as if he doubted he'd survive it and be unscathed. If someone at a battle school jumped off the rooftop, they were probably the type who'd be fine.

"What an idiot," she commented to herself, finishing up her lunch and standing. She wasn't about to let some moron's nonsensical actions distract her from her ultimate goal. Chinatsu had to do everything she could to defeat Yukimura Atsuko. "Well, at least he's bothering some other people now instead."

Collecting her bento, she turned and began to leave the rooftop.

Megumi was surprised when Chie accepted Kazuya so easily, but that on it's own was fine with her. When Chie mentioned having to babysit Kazuya, though, Megumi was less than pleased. She refused to show any dissatisfaction, however, and responded "Yes ma'am!" Turning to Kazuya, she smiled. "Nice to meet you, Kazuya-kun! My name is Yukazu Megumi, let's get along!" She thought of several ways she might scare him away, but Chie's 48-hour grace period ruined any such plans. Instead, she concluded she might as well make a bit of profit from this.

"Say, Kazuya-kun, how about a little training together? We're both rank 0 and, I mean no offense, but your track record is... Uhh, how to say this nicely... It has some room for improvement. So what about it? You're okay with it too, right prez?" Megumi asked, but was soon distracted by her own scheming mind.

Surely there was something he could do in a fight? And if there is, I'll sure as hell find it. Megumi thought to herself, filled with determination. She was so determined, she barely noticed the giant falling from the roof. When the giant got up again, Megumi was surprised, but perhaps she could use this to her advantage...

"Oh! One moment Kazuya-kun, I'll be right back!" Megumi said as she headed off to the fallen man.

Megumi chuckled as she approached Ryuji and saw his wallet. That's actually kind of adorable. Shrugging off the odd thought, she recognized Ryuji. She had expected it to be him, as there were relatively few students of that size. And quite the curious case he was too, a pacifist attending a battle school. With a soft voice, as if she were worried, Megumi spoke.

"You're Isobe Ryuji-senpai, right? I was hoping to ask for your help, but if you're perhaps not feeling so great after falling from the roof, it might be better to go to the nurse's office instead."

Uesugi Fumie

Whoops, it looked like she wasn't the only one to have the same idea as her. Or at least, that was Fumie's initial thought as Ryuji suddenly came up to the roof and sat himself down beside the new girl.

Hmm... hmm...

Click!

It never hurt to have to many pictures. Fumie retreated back behind the corner and continued eating, but kept an ear out on the conversation.

Admittedly, it didn't turn out to be much of a conversation. And it wasn't long before before Ryuji exited stage left.

Or rather... stage down.

Fumie peeked out just in time to see Ryuji catch the banknote in his hand and soar right off the edge of the building.

Well.

Fumie managed to get one last bite of her food before the new girl stood, moving toward the rooftop door. Damn it... Fumie looked down to see half of her lunch still untouched.

Goodbye, good food, and good luck.

Fumie cursed her slowness at this moment, before packing her lunch up and getting everything collected. She hefted her spear, lain on the ground just behind her feet, and stood, waiting to hear the telltale sign of the rooftop door opening and closing.

Yokoi Kaito

Man, this was no good, huh?

Through sheer luck, he imagined, everyone hanging around the courtyard was either too high or too low for it to be worth challenging. Man.

Kaito stretched again. Maybe he should head to the courtyard after all.

It's what he thought until he noticed the giant figure flying out from the rooftop. Oh, boy...

It was Ryuji. Weren't really many others it could be, huh?

He landed with a loud thump, possibly drawing the attention of everyone in the courtyard.

Kaito scratched his head. He decided to head over to see if he was alright.

Seemed like he wasn't the only one with that idea though.

Ichihara Ban

After catching up on yesterday's fights, Ban decided that he had had enough of the courtyard. It seemed no one was in the mood to fight at the moment, sadly. He stored away his tablet and gripped his empty tray as he sauntered to the door that led inside.

That was, until a commotion up above drew his attention skyward. A large male flailed in the air, gripping a bank note in one hand.

An astonished "What the fuck?" slipped through his lips as he stumbled backwards. The boy falling landed hard and loud, wind whipped Ban's hair around. You know what they say, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Fortunately, the guy didn't seem hurt at all, much to Ban's surprise.

Ban's blood started pumping as he stalked over to Ryuji, teeth clenched. Some girl approached him but Ban paid her no mind, he laid a heavy hand of Isobe's shoulder and attempted to shove the larger boy.

"What the fuck you idiot? You almost landed on me, watch what you're doing would ya? Why the hell were you jumping off the roof in the first place?" Ban seethed, what was it today with people being idiotic? First that bitchy girl and her brother and now this bumbling idiot.

Ban finally took a moment to look at who he was reaming out. Recognition sparked in his eyes.

"Hey you're that pacifist guy, Ryuiji right? Why don't you do the school a favor and just drop out already. Not like you're fighting or contributing. This is a fucking fighting school dude, why did you apply here in the first place?

Ban had that predator glaze in his eyes again, he truly despised idiots like this guy. He crossed his arms and smirked, wondering how angry he could get this so called "pacifist."

Kazuya turned to see the witch girl holding her hand out to him. Chie had just put her on the spot like that. Luckily, Megumi didn't seem at all put out. Hell, she seemed happy.

"I'm already tough." Kazuya said, only to have his bubble promptly bursted by Megumi. She was right. He had not won a single battle. At the very least, she said it politely. And she was offering to help train him. "...I could probably use it." He said. "Megumi could you please teach me to be a bad dude?" He said, kind of quickly. No sooner had he done so than a giant went crashing through the ceiling. He swore under his breath.

"I'll be right back. I guess I need to clean it up." He said, before trotting off to find a broom and dustpan. A few moments later, he was back. He had brought two.

"Are you alright?" He asked Ryuji, completely ignoring Ban. "Here, help me clean this up." He said, pushing a mop into his hands, then starting to sweep debris of the sidewalk. He wondered if they'd expect him to fill the crater back up.
