Name: Koto Kistune
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance:
“I’m not going to throw away my shot!”
Hero Outfit:
“If you stand for nothing, what will you fall for?”
Quirk:
Shapeshifting - Koto is capable of changing her body to look like different people or different things. When she transforms into an object, she shares their physical qualities but is still capable of thinking, speaking, perceiving things as well as a bit more movement (Though mostly just pushing and rolling herself around, unless the object has wheels or legs). Koto can also transform into other people, but only in appearance. If they have quirks, she can’t use them, even ones that are passive quirks like super strength. That being said if she transforms into a large muscle bound guy, she’s as strong as he would be naturally if his strength isn’t quirk related. She can also turn into animals as well, sharing their physical qualities as well.
However Koto can only transform into three things at any given time. Every time she wants to change into something else, she has to overwrite one of her forms. She also has to have touched the thing she wants to transform into, so she can't simply change into whatever she wants at any time. It takes her some time to transform, about three seconds, but in those three seconds she can't move at all, leaving her vulnerable. Lastly, her physical well being reflects her shapeshifting and vice versa. If she's hurt and she transforms, her transformed state will also be damaged, and if she's hurt while she's transformed she'll have injuries when she reverts back to her normal form. If she looses consciousness she automatically turns back to her real self.
Backstory:
The Kistune family line has a long history of debauchery and adultery. It’s as if those with the Kistune quirk just has a gene for troublemaking and abandonment. Koto never knew who her father was aside from the fact he was a Kistune, and that was only found out when she was four years old and her quirk revealed itself. Koto’s mother was a teenager when Koto was born, and wasn’t ready to take care of her daughter. She tried her best, but when Koto was born her mother was thrown out of the family because of her and they struggled because of it. It didn’t help that Koto’s mother still acted like a young woman instead of a good mom, going out and having fun instead of taking care of Koto. She was a bad influence, and it showed.
As Koto started growing up she was a troublemaker too. She always played pranks as a child, and generally skipped school in favor of going out to play at the arcade or pick fights. She didn’t even go to middle school and dropped out at a young age. Koto was a wild child and a bad path in life, but she did have a good heart. She wanted to help other kids in a rut like her, but her way of going about it was all wrong. She was naive; steal from the rich, give to the poor. But it turns out not everyone who’s rich is evil, and not all the poor need help. It wasn’t until Koto and her gang were eventually stopped after a robbery gone wrong she started to clean up her life.
Koto went back to school. While she didn’t like school she was smart enough to get through the academics, even if she was a troublemaker. She was still fairly popular and was always willing to lend and hand and talk to people. She fought those who hurt her friends but also was willing to befriend them too. She was rough and didn’t treat people gently but she always gave them a fair chance. Eventually when she graduated middle school when she was sixteen her teacher recommended that she try to go to UA. If she really wanted to help people, Koto needed to learn how to be a hero.
Supporting Characters:
Koto’s Old Gang - Koto had a gang of friends back in her childhood who hanged out with her. Most of them have cleaned up and live on the straight and narrow, but a few still dabble in shady business and could give Koto a hand.
Koto’s Mother - She’s still a swinger and the two often get into arguments, but there’s a certain love between the two that only a mother and daughter can share. While Koto still thinks she’s a bad mother, she also has her to thank to make Koto the independent woman she is today.
Some Homeless Guy - Koto literally just calls him some homeless guy, but he often gave Koto advice and guidance when she was just a street rat. He’s a vagrant so he doesn’t stay in one place a lot, but when Koto and him meet she can always rely on him to give her insight she doesn’t have. She recognizes him because he plays the saxophone for money.
DJ Americano - A music store owner. Koto often goes to him to pick up new CD and tunes. He was the first adult Koto ever thought was “cool”. He keeps her up to day with new music and tends whenever she stops by. He also runs a radio station that plays various types of music he feels like playing, however it’s on an unused frequency.
Other:
Koto is something of a music nerd, often listening to all sorts of tunes from japanese traditional music, American Rap, Korean Kpop, Russian Hard Bass, and really anything that catches her ear. And she will play it loudly. She knows how to play the keyboard and piano.
Koto has done some vigilante work in the past and still dabbles in it now, though she can’t be quite as overt about it due to her record. She knows lots of people who’d technically be “Villains”, but she keeps their identity a secret because as far as she knows, they aren’t doing anything bad except working outside the law.
Koto has a
sword she stole from a mob boss back in her vigilante days. It's a well made blade that was made for durability over sharpness, and actually has a dull edge. Still it's sharp enough to cut through most form of ballistic armor, and doesn't chip even if you smash it against a rock.
