Name of Faction: Wings of Freedom Liberation Front(Wings of Freedom)
Territory: North and South Dakota
History: When the United States began to tear itself apart, the two Dakota's were no exception. Mass riots controlled the streets, as the police and national guard were ill prepared to fight against the mobs. Many people were killed in the ensuing chaos, as anarchy took over the two states. Local militias rose to power, taking control of the few cities and instilling their views of law and order. A few of these groups truly wanted to bring safety and justice, most however were simply criminals who took control. The capital of South Dakota, Pierre was one of the unfortunate cities to be controlled by a local crime lord.
The crime lord ruled with a iron fist, killing anyone who stepped out of line. Despite this, there was some semblance of order. People had food, clothes, and most had shelter of some form. However, this did not sit well with Connor McCain, a former Republic of Ireland army officer who had moved to the States seeking a new job. He gathered other like minded individuals around him, and led them in an assault against the crime lord. Both sides took heavy losses, but in the end Connor and the survivors emerged victorious. With the city under his control, Connor declared the foundation of the Wings of Freedom Liberation Front, dedicated to ending tyranny, and bringing order and stability back to America.
Connor gathered and trained numerous recruits from Pierre, turning them into a small army. He then set out to the closest city near Pierre, which was led by a former police chief who had been elected by the other residents to lead them. Connor and the chief met each other on the outskirts of the city, and spoke for a time. When the meeting ended, the police chief returned to his city, and asked his people to join with the Wings of Freedom. Many were hesitant, but they eventually agreed to join. Connor would continue this process, bringing several other cities peacefully into the fold of the Wings of Freedom growing power and territory. Still, there were cities that refused to join. Wings of Freedom soldiers stormed those cities, killing anyone who resisted them, and bringing their control to the city. Within a few short weeks, a large portion of South Dakota was unified, and Connor turned his attention to the North.
On the old border between the two states, the Wings of Freedom army was met by a combined force of men and women from North Dakota. The state had been fractured much like South Dakota, but when they heard word of a army marching north towards them, they united together to protect themselves. Connor met with the group of leaders, and the two sides debated for some time as their armies waited for word. In the end, the two sides came to an agreement. North Dakota would join the Wings of Freedom Liberation Front, and in return, the leaders of those cities would become a ruling council, with Connor as their leader. Connor was not happy with this arrangement, but he didn't have the manpower or weaponry to beat North Dakota, and still emerge a powerful force. The North Dakota army was rolled into the Wings of Freedom army, as Connor and the new Ruling Council set about organizing their territory.

MilitaryThe Wings of Freedom military is a united force of soldiers drawn from both North and South Dakota. The army is entirely volunteer based, relying more on well trained and disciplined soldiers over masses of conscripts. The army is divided into four sector commands, each charged with defending the Wings of Freedom Liberation Front territory. They are the North, East, South, and West commands. The Wings of Freedom maintains a limited air force, due to the lack of military bases present in the states before the civil war began. They however have been able to acquire several helicopters, and a small number of jets. Most vehicles they use are drawn from national guard depots that were raided during the initial anarchy.
