"Ah yes, cost, probably should have put that on the flier," Sam chuckled as he did the math in his head real quick. "Between the two of us if you moved in it'd be about $1100 a month," he told her, "slightly less actually, but you know, rounding makes the math easier." He noticed her nearly falling and was a bit worried at her sleep comment, "you wanna take a nap? It'd let you see if the bed is to your liking or if we'll have to get a new one in here." Before she could say something about feeling bad for keeping him he added, "I have the next few days off work, so I'm not going anywhere. I've had sleep issues in the past, and you're right about the point where it doesn't matter what the issue is, you're sleeping whether you want to or not."

The incident happened to Sam a few months ago, after a long day at work he'd had what was essentially a seizure and ended up with a weird bug bite looking thing on his shoulder. After that he hadn't slept for a few days, he'd had to call in to work, if he drove in that state he was scared he might fall asleep at the wheel. Stupid voice, he didn't know if it was a god or an alien or what, but he never wanted this. Now he was in some kind of competition with who knew how many other people, supposedly to the death. Well he wasn't having it, Sam would not kill anyone, he'd move to Alaska and be a hermit if he had to. Bringing himself back to the moment at hand he said, "also, the doors have locks, you know, in case you're scared I'm some kind of weirdo." He chuckled, but she had no clue what type of weirdo he was, some kind of freak with superpowers who was supposed to kill a bunch of people. Great, perfect roommate material.

Quinn - Sam's Apartment

The wording Sam chose slightly confused Quinn for a moment. Though it was hard to tell if it was what he said, how he said it, or the fact that her senses were slowing failing her. Even the noise seemed to be getting more distant. Bracing herself against the wall she thought over her options. She really didn't want to go back to her place. That prospect was far less appealing. In fact the potential of sleeping in a stranger's house sounded slightly more comforting than the alternative. Her fear of the numinous overshadowed any potential fear of Sam.

Not moving with a dull but tired expression for a couple minutes she glanced first at the bedroom before turning her head slightly to look back down the hall in the direction of the living room. "I think I'd rather pick the couch where you can keep an eye on me in case..." She caught herself before she blerted out something crazy. No one would believe that she was worried shadows were going to attack her. At that point she wouldn't be worrying about finding a place to stay but trying to get out of a mental hospital. "Never mind. I just don't want to be left alone right now."

Having resigned to crash on the couch she turned and headed that direction. However much she didn't want to sleep her body was going to make her at some point, fear and distractions be damned. Making it to the edge of the couch she just flopped down face first. Whether the couch was actually soft or not didn't register. The sweet embrace of rest took her shortly after as she fell asleep. Thankfully for her she'd had the foresight to get at least the next day off work. Then again when you go around work like a zombie your supervisor tends to take notice.

Natasha didn't give the men the reaction they were expecting. In fact her confidence made them a bit nervous, they paused to look at one another and then again over Natasha.

"A'ight lady, your gonna get it.
I will do it.
Now give me ya stuff bitch."

He held the knife out as he stepped forward. Pointing the blade at her threateningly. He was hesitant to attack. His friend was even hesitant to come any closer.

"Look 'ere." the knife wielder said waving his weapon at eye level before trying to throw a sneaky right kick that might catch her mid thigh.
He didn't lead with the knife because he didn't actually want to stab anyone but he couldn't back down in front of his friends. He had hoped intimidation would be enough, that she would give everything up in fear, but now he actually had to act.

At the end of the alleyway, the man who had been standing guard had picked up a steel baseball bat. He stares intently at Stephen trying to stare him down. With a sudden pop of his body he jolts forward a few inches trying to intimidate the man before him.
"Nottin 'appening ere boy. Move on less you want some trouble." he warns, bringing the bat up on his shoulder and at the ready.

Stephan regarded the scruffy-looking man with one eyebrow upraised, eyeing the steel bat.
"I wasn't asking you, you know." Stephan said. "Well, never mind."
Stephan extracted his phone from his pocket using his left hand. No telling what would happen if he tried his right. As he did, he also took his right hand out of his pocket, but not overtly so. If it came down to a fight, he'd have to trust his new power. And if things went down the way he figured they would, it would turn out to be a fight.
"Let's see... 9, 1, 1..." Stephan said out loud.
He keyed in the numbers slowly, partially because he was using his non-dominant hand, but mostly to give the man time to react. He couldn't exactly report a crime if it hadn't happened yet, could he? Although considering the girl in the back appeared to be getting mugged, he probably could. He pressed the dial button and put the phone to his ear.
"Hello, is this the police? I would like to report a crime." Stephan asked.

Natasha chuckled at their hesitance, but when their seemingly leader threw the kick, she jumped back, the foot passing by harmlessly. "You think a stupid trick like that is going to trick me?" she said boldly, eyeing the knife that glinted in the dim light. She tensed when a man appeared from the street, asking if anything illegal was happening. Before she could say anything the other man had responded. She stiffened, "Isn't it rude to trample over a lady?" she asked, pulling her bloody colored fist back. While the man's head was turned, she lunged forward, catching his cheek, she pulled some of the energy she'd stored into the punch, only enough to knock him backwards. She jumped back a few steps, eyeing the other man to see his reaction, "Instead of sitting on that damn phone and waiting for the police to show up, you could help." she said to him, "I would prefer them to be arrested for mugging me, not murdering me."

Felicity Stark

To: @duskshine749
____________________________________________________

“Hey, uh… Sammy? Yeah, it’s Felicity. Ya know, your next door neighbor for the past few weeks? Yup, me. Uh, I know that ya might be busy with… whatever it is ya do. BUT, I have a favor to ask. And yeah, I know we haven’t talked much BUT, you’re kinda ma’ only option at this point. Uh, ya know Michael, righ’? You know, the 6’4 energetic bunny rabbit known as my brother? Yeah, I need ya to watch ova’ him for me while I go run around and do some business. Don’t worry, he’s totally harmless and he is literally a 4-year-old trapped inside of the body of a 19-year-old. He’s the coolest guy I know. Although, I am a bit biased, I guess. Listen, I know it’s a bit much to dump on ya out of the blue but, uh, I think I can trust ya with him. So, call me back when ya can and let me know. Thanks, dude.”

Beep!

“Hey sis! What are you doing, lazy!?”

“Talking to an, uh, friend of mine. I’m askin’ him to watch over ya while I’m gone.”

“Oh… are you going to work?”

“Nope. Not today, Mikey. I have to handle a bit a’ business. Don’t worry about it. Besides, you should go back to sleep. It’ll make your head feel better.”

“Thank you, sis!”

As her tall brother skipped away, Felicity’s smile dimmed a bit. She leaned back in her chair, phone in her left hand as she massaged her temples with the right. The dark bags under her eyes were a heavy indicator to her lack of sleep. Not that it’s purposeful, She thought dryly as she just managed to catch movement out of the corner of her eyes. Glancing over, she wasn’t surprised to see nothing there.

Eyes flickering over to the phone in her hand, she found herself sighing. At that moment, she looked older. Regardless of how her smile seemed to point to her being happy, it was becoming more and more difficult to keep up these days. Especially after…

“They are coming. Prepare!”

Her head shook from side to side as she tried to shake away those thoughts. The more she lingered, the darker the room seemed to get and the louder the whispers seemed to become. Forcing herself to remain calm, she allowed herself to think on what the words could mean.

And all she could think of was that there were other people with powers out there. And while some are good, some… well, humans are inherently evil anyway so it wouldn’t be surprising. Shouldn’t be a surprise.

Mikey? Her head shook automatically, he was far too innocent for this world. That’s why she had to protect him, keep him safe. And, if she could trust the shadows, she would need to keep him safe from some of the most dangerous people in the world.

Sweet, her mind supplied sarcastically. Standing up, no matter how much she wanted to stay seated, she stretched. Hearing the crack of her bones, she let out a little sigh before walking through the small apartment to her bedroom. Stopping on the way, she peeked into her brother’s room to see him sleeping. Grinning wider, she felt a small bit of stress flee from her body before she forced herself to move on.

In the room, she began packing up a very small black backpack. She stuffed in a small flashlight and a stethoscope. Shoving them in, she then grabbed her keys and her blue jacket before quickly putting it on. She then moved everything to the living room before plopping back down.

Now in her natural element of laziness, she picked up the phone and held it to her chest, awaiting the call as she closed her eyes.

Stephan locked eyes on the girl as she spoke to him, before adopting a smile and put a finger to his lips in the universal indication to be a little quieter. He didn't mind that it revealed his red hand, it would be difficult to tell in such dim lighting anyway. The scruffy man in front of him was clearly having none of this, drawing his arms back to swing at Stephan, or maybe his phone. But that was just what he'd been waiting for. Stephan briefly mused on the absurdity of this situation. In normal circumstances he'd possibly consider confronting the man, but he wouldn't actually do it. The brief fear, excitement and anxiety were all there, but he felt oddly calm. Maybe it was the night making him do things he wouldn't do normally, or maybe it was his newfound strength. He supposed that his new powers had changed things somewhat. Stephan darted forward as the man stepped back to swing. He grabbed the man's right wrist with his right hand and lept moving forward, twisting the man's arm behind his back. The man cried in pain and dropped his bat as Stephan increased the pressure.
"Sorry, that's just my drunk friend. Stubbed his toe." Stephan said on the phone. "It looks like 2 grown men are trying to mug a woman. One of them's holding a knife."

The scruffy man tried in vain to free his hand from Stephan's grip, but to no avail. He wasn't letting go unless he wanted to.
"What street we're on? Hold on a second." Stephan said. "Does anyone know what street we're on?"
He got a confused and fearful look from the man he was holding, but little else. Stephan didn't really know where they were or what alley they were in, but he did remember a few crucial details.
"Sorry, I don't quite know. But there was a car crash reported somewhere close, I think it's between there and the park." Stephan said. "Birch street, maybe."
The man started beating Stephan's hand with his free fist. It hurt a bit, but he wasn't letting go. The man let out an angry howl and made to dive at Stephan, but he twisted the man's arm downwards, forcing him onto the ground.
"Sorry, friend's getting a little aggressive. Don't worry, I have him under control." Stephan said. "Thank you for your time."
He finally hung up and turned his full attention on the man struggling on the floor. Stephan dragged the man up to a standing position by the hand and looked him dead in the eye and spoke to him in a low, somewhat threatening voice.

"Listen buddy, the police are coming soon. You know what that means, don't you?" Stephan asked the man. "They find you here, they peg you as an accomplice. There's enough witnesses here to testify to that."
The fear was palpable in the man's eyes, although whether that was fear of the police or of Stephan, he wasn't sure. But either or both would serve well enough. Stephan walked behind the man and crossed over to the man's left, still holding his wrist, draping his own arm over the man's shoulders while keeping a tight grip on the man's wrist.
"Now look, I've just gotten here. You know what I saw?" Stephan said, whispering in his ear. "A man in front of an alley and 2 men mugging a girl in the alley. I'd think it's pretty clear what happened, but maybe not."
The man was confused now, not understanding what Stephan was getting at. Stephan smiled in a friendly manner, but his eyes weren't smiling.
"It could've been a complete coincidence that you were in front of this alley at this exact moment in time." Stephan said playfully. "Maybe you were just walking along and saw the action. If you're not here when the police show up, then who knows?"

Realization dawned on the man's face but Stephan knew that he would be conflicted. His "friends" were still in that alley, after all. He'd need one more push, and Stephan happened to have the solution in hand.
"There are 2 options here for you, my friend." Stephan said to the man. "You leave here quietly, and we can both forget this ever happened. Or..."
Stephan tightened his grip on the man's wrist, forcing a grunt from the man as it became more painful than ever.
"I break your wrist right here and now, the police come and you get arrested." Stephan growled.
He eased up on the man's wrist, giving him the space to break out from his grip. Stephan smiled pleasantly.
"So? what's it going to be?" He asked innocently.
The man tore his wrist away from Stephan's hand and started running away from him. He looked back in fear as he tripped, got back up and continued running. Stephan watched as the man disappeared into the night. The brown haired boy stood for a moment before he turned to handle the situation inside the alley, noticing as he did that the man had forgotten his bat. He picked it up and checked its weight before hefting it over his shoulder and advancing towards the other 2 men.
"Hey, fellas. Now that your buddy's gone, it's a 2 on 2." Stephan said. "You still sure you want to do this?"

Cori Woods
As the dispatcher picked up, Cori's brow furroewed in the other girl's direction. How could she know the kid wasn't on any sort of drugs or alcohol? She felt detached from her body as the elderly woman on the other end of the line lead her through some basic treatment for the wounded kid. Holding her phone between her chin and her shoulder, Cori checked for a pulse, a breath and the like as the woman asked questions. "He's breathing. He seems okay. I have...word he wasn't drunk." She answered the questions coolly and quickly, seeming oddly comfortable in taking lead over something as important as a person's life. The heiress even had an eyeroll to spare as the woman commented on the full moon.

Focused on managing the scene of the crash, Cori willed herself to ignore the gross homeless man. New and improved eyesight a blessing, she caught another approaching the scene--he would not be the only one. She cleared her through and she momentariy held her iPhone away from her red lips. "Sir, I'm going to need you to stay back. The police are on their way, okay?" she said to him. Knowing that ambulance would take some time, however, she decided to stay beside the driver. She patted at his pockets after dispatch hung up, and scowled when she found no identification.

It didn't occur to her that it was too quiet until it was too late: the familiar rev of her car engine roared in place of the old man's slurring. She gasped and stood up, hopelessly stepping after the car as it squealed away. "No!" she cried, "No, no, no!" Her heel stomped against the ground and she ran her hands down her face. Needless to say, the red and blue lights were a relief, and she was clueless to the other girl's discomfort. "He stole my car," was the first thing she told the officer as he stepped out of the car.

However, his reaction quieted her. He eyed her suspiciously then looked between the third comer and the other woman. "I'm just going to need you all to answer a few questions. The ambulance is on the way." he said, though as he looked between them again, his gaze lingered on Himeko suspiciously. "How are you involved with this?" he demanded.

Taken aback, Cori tilted her head and narrowed her eyes at the officer. She wasn't used to seeing officers act like this toward her, much less another, innocent woman. She cleared her throat, suddenly standing taller. "Officer, sir, we both just barely arrived. I'm the one who called 911. In fact, I'm a victim--"

"Ms. Arslan has been in and out of jail for her violence. So," he paused to squint at Cori before recognition flickered across his gaze. Seeing it, Cori smiled tightly: now that he realized who exactly he was talking to, he would treat those here with a little more respect. Cori offered a cocky smile to Himeko before looking back to the officer as he continued. "So, Ms. Woods, I suggest you comply and consider your right to remain silent. I know your type. You're all party girls."

The smile faded and she glared, stomping her heel on the pavement again. Her face flushed with anger and embarrassment. "I'm not--"

"I'm talking to Ms. Arslan. Unless you're suggesting I search your bag," he said over her. He looked back to Himeko, waiting patiently for the woman's statement. As she continued with whatever that may be, the ambulance's lights could be seen finally approaching. A tow truck driver was preparing to drag the destroyed car off the road, cones set up to direct drivers safely around the accident.

Himeko Arslan

Interacting with: @Dark Light @Kidd @Afro Samurai

While the white haired woman talked with the dispatcher, Himeko focused on the old man whose violent coughing died down after a few hard pats on the back. A rather hollow chuckle escaped her lips after the old man finally stopped coughing, his body bent over and his hands on his knees. She removed her hand from his back, "Well now, go scamper along old man. Go bother someone else." She hoped that the old man would have enough common sense to follow her word - as she was a girl with a sword.

However, when the old man continued to spout out vulgar words, her grip tightened and her look turned into a glare. A turmoil of negative emotions was swirling within her heart - her violent nature attempting to climb out and resurface once more. She did her best to put it down. She can't let anger consume her. She could, before, but not now. There was no one to pull her out besides the ones under her, but they were of questionable origins as well. "If you don't shut up right now, old man, I swear I will hunt you down." The tone she used was very threatening and showed that she was most definitely not joking. "And I will show you why they call me the Demon Princess."

It would seem that the old man, despite drunk, understood what that meant. He muttered something incoherent under his breath. When Cori spoke up, addressing not the person on the phone but another one, her head snapped towards the assumed male. As he grew closer, his face grew clearer and a hint of recognition flashed through her eyes. This man had frequented the club before. There was no mistaking who he was. She didn't know his name but she knew that he went from bar to bar, club to club. What was his job again? Did he even have a job?

When she heard an engine roar to life, she only then noticed that the old man had already left her side and was now inside the woman's sports car. Oh. She watched it drive away, fully knowing that it would only end up as a vain attempt should she run after it. She saw the look of dejection in the woman's face as she watched her car drive away. "Oh, shame." She muttered under her breath, knowing that the woman might find it as an insult or something. That must have cost a lot too. She must have been rich. As the familiar red and blue lights entered her vision, she was violently thrown back into her memories.

The feeling of handcuffs wrapping around her wrists, the shoving of the police as she, her friends and her enemies tried to struggle to escape, the amount of time spent inside those juvenile jails, their voices subdued by the harsh eyes of the officers - they were the memories she didn't want to go through in real life again.

As the woman already spoke to the officer about her stolen car, Himeko could only mutter one thing, "Oh fuck..." The officer's suspicious eyes gazed around them. She knew he knew her. Heck, everyone in the police stations must have known her. She was quite a frequent face after all. They just couldn't hold her down long enough to send her to jail. Ha. She raised her gaze to meet the officer's. "Meh. He got into a crash and I pulled him out - end of story." She said with a shrug, assuming a lax posture, showing how used to this kind of situation she was.

However, the woman was immediately cut off by the officer, telling the woman about Himeko's record. However, the officer stopped as he squinted at the woman. Curiously, she looked over to her as well. She had this cocky grin on her face as if she just got her pardon. Though, Himeko didn't really get it. Why did she look so happy? Then, the officer continued calling the woman 'Ms. Woods'.

Processing: Find Ms. Woods in memory. Loading. Loading.

Eh, Himeko must have heard of her in passing but she can't remember who she was or what her family is all about. Must have been a rich family by the looks of it.

As the officer continued to speak, Ms. Woods stomped her foot down on the pavement and her face red - probably from embarrassment as being called a 'party girl'. Her smile was completely wiped off of her face. Well, that was funny. The officer cut her off once more (Wow, what a disrespectful bastard) and then telling her that he was talking to Himeko. Even if she didn't get the woman's cockiness earlier, she really hated the fact that he kept cutting her off. She just wanted to knock him out and be over with it. But that wasn't really ideal. "Again, I don't know the dude. He crashed in my district so I investigated it. Pulled him out of the wreckage and then she came and had to call you guys." She obviously didn't think that was a good idea. Himeko could have very well called someone to bring them to the hospital. No need for the police to get involved. Well, up until her car got stolen at least. But that was not her fault and she'd rather not be involved in any of it.

She then stretched her arms. "Come on, search me. All I have is this wooden sword and some coins. I haven't caused trouble in over a year and a half, officer, and I don't plan on going to jail. Besides, he got into an accident with that pylon - no way I can cause something like that." She then looked over to Ms. Woods. "Oh, and her car got stolen by this drunk old man."

Natasha looked at the man, noticing something strange with his hand, she cocked her head to one side, and watched the spectacle. She laughed at the thug struggling in the man's grasp, He has to be one of them. Maybe he won't try to kill me. she thought. She didn't move, only shifted her gaze to the two thugs still before her. When the man got off the phone, she placed her hands on her hips, if the thugs did anything she could easily dodge them.

When no one moved she sighed, grabbing their attention, "Well this is boring, I don't feel like having to deal with police so if you don't mind..." she took a step forward and punched the nearest thug in the face, putting enough energy behind it to knocked him out, at the same time she swung her leg up and caught the other with her foot, hitting him just below the jaw. Both men staggered back, close enough to the other guy to either run away, or get hit with a bat. Natasha inspected the nails on her right hand, then looked at them, "Run, or deal with us." she said, looking bored.

The two men looked between the 2, and started running towards Stephan. Whether they were intending to take him down or get past him was unclear, but it's not like it mattered too much. As they began advancing in his direction Stephan slammed the end of the metal bat against the wall to his right, startling the men with the noise and sudden movement.
"Hey, don't let them go so easy!" Stephan said playfully.
His had a smile on his face, but his eyes were cold.
"People who break the rules should get punished, don't you think? Why don't we all settle down and wait for the police to arrive?"

He'd already heard police sirens in the distance but those were probably to investigate the crash. He could hear some more in the distance coming in their direction, however. Soon enough a police car pulled up in front of the alley.
"Speak of the devil." Stephan said, hefting the bat over his shoulder once again.
He turned and started walking out of the alley, turning back to address the occupants.
"Let's go and talk to the nice policemen." Stephan said. "I'd hate to have been wasting their time."

"Ya, sure, don't worry about it," he said to Quinn as they walked out to the living room, it seemed like she was maybe about to say something before but decided against it. She flopped down on the couch and Sam sat off to the side, "you know, I have a pretty open mind if you wanted to say something before." He wasn't sure if she heard him though, he was pretty sure she was out as soon as her head hit the throw pillows he had. Sam pulled out his phone and saw he missed a call, must have been just a few minutes ago when he was giving the house tour. He went to his voicemail and found it was Felicity from across the hall, she wanted him to watch her brother. Sam met Michael once before, he forgot exactly what condition he had, but it basically meant when Felicity said he was literally a 4 year old in a 19 year old's body she meant literally.

He was a little hesitant to say with with Quinn there, but he supposed she'd have to be okay with the neighbours if she was to live there, so Sam called Felicity back. She seemed to pick up the phone pretty quickly, but Sam just chalked that up to she probably just happened to be doing something with it when he called. "Hey Felicity, it's Sam. I'm fine to watch Mikey for a few hours, just bring him over whenever, does he like video games?" Whatever the answer, Sam would finish the call with, "okay, cool, I'll see you in a bit, bye." He put the phone down and looked at Quinn, still sleeping, "hope you're okay with a bit of noise, but you're pretty knocked out, I bet you can't even hear me, can you?" He chuckled and switched on the TV, trying to find something good while he waited for Felicity to come drop of Michael.

Darren was also walking by the alleyway as the situation ensued, he was walking back from a nearby construction zone, his pants were littered with wood shavings as it always is. Darren looked surprised as he saw the few standing within said alleyway, under his long hair he was trying to stay awake, his eyes half closed.
"Hey, you guys aren't doing anything illegal in there, are you?"
he heard Stephan say next to him.
"three guys standing in an alleyway, yeah, something illegal is happening here... here's a hint, they might be selling cocain!" Darren jokes, though he may be joking, something felt wrong here, in fact, the only reason he stopped there was because he felt something was wrong, the blood rushed to his hands and his fingers began to change, he heard the clinking of knives and quickly forced the blood to flow back through his veins, merging the knives back into his skin. "Nah but seriously, skulking around an alleyway is creepy..." he half joked, then he finally saw the sports car, he was too tired to actually notice things, he didn't understand anything that was going on so after a brief thought darren passed it off as hallucinations and realised he made himself look like a fool, maybe someone spiked his coffee.
(OOC: I honestly don't know what's going on so I'm just passing this off as drug hallucinations)

Thomas "Tommy" Veiga
Location: Bar in midtown
Interactions: none currently

It was fairly noisy at the bar. It had been for quite a while actually, maybe for a few weeks now? Around the time of— Tommy didn't want to think about it now. He had pushed that off as a nightmare... no, no that never happened.

In a daze of thought, Tommy could only vaguely hear a woman calling out to him at the bar. He glanced down at the shot glass he had been shining for the last few minutes with a soft huff, quietly replacing it on the shelf. God, when did it get so loud in here?

"Yes, m'am?" The quiet, snipped voice asked.
"My mojito needs a refill, I've been calling you." The woman was a typical sight Tommy always saw at the bar— a 40 year old cougar sitting at the bar, downing drinks until she was cross eyed while she hit on other drunk bastards who dared come near. Humans were really annoying creatures.

Still, it was his job to serve them. Tommy started on the drink, ignoring her lingering stare at the muscles under his shirt as he shook up the drink.
"I might be willing to forgive you for making me wait... It wouldn't cost much, you might even enjoy it~" The cougar batted her mascara lacquered eyelashes, leaning closer so that Tommy just shot her an aggressive glance. He slammed the drink down by the edge of fingertips, making the woman jolt back in surprise.
"Your drink. It'll be on your tab."

Tommy strolled casually away from the scoffing, guffawed cougar to the center of the bar to wipe down a little spill, eyes focused on the cleaning though his ears were picking up all the sounds around him... including the beginnings of a fight.

Two idiots, around the age of college drop outs, were arguing over some girl apparently. Tommy didn't care, until he noticed a fist raise in the air.

"YOU SON OF A—huh?!"

Behind the belligerent bafoon stood Tommy casually, having a painful grip on the man's elbow. "Take it outside. Fighting isn't allowed in here." He stated coldly.

The drunkard grit his teeth, turning on Thomas. "FUCK YOU!" Again, the slob went to attack, and a loud crack was heard throughout the bar. The drunkard went flying across the room and slammed into the door, slinking down onto the ground. Tommy shook off his hand, splattered lightly with blood from the man's mouth. His hazel eyes shot to the other man, who was quite literally shaking in his boots. Calmly, Tommy muttered."Take your buddy, leave the bar, or you'll both be leaving on stretchers. Got it?" The second man shook his head yes so quickly it appeared as if he would break his neck as he raced to the door, snatching the passed out man's collar, and running as fast as he could.

"Come back soon." Tommy called comically, smoothly returning to his place to serve drinks as the bar went back into full swing of clatter and drinking.
Today was going well.

The male ambulance driver, a tall and slightly charming man with short hair, interrupts the officer to give him their findings and inform him of their departure. He thanks both girls and goes back to packing up.

Shortly after, in the middle of his interrogation the policeman's radio blared to life, fizzling and cracking as some lady called out a code. She repeated it.
Then "On the corner of Third street and Main rd. All nearby officers please respond." The police officer looked hesitant but excused himself and made his way to the car. That location wasn't too far away.
While sitting there in his car on his two-way device caught in an important conversation, his eyes remained glued to the girls.
Without word he suddenly slams his door as the engine ignites and he roars off hastily down the road. As the rumbling of the engine fades the shrill of distant sirens begins to echo.

The ambulance team pause for a slight moment then resume their task of loading the injured driver and his stretcher into the back of the wagon.

The tall ambulance driver returns to the girls with his notepad in hand. "So, when he wakes up, is it ok if I give him your details? I'm sure he will be thankful for your help."

Natasha went from disinterested to downright disappointed, "I have no interest in wasting precious energy on these two, besides, you seem to be handling them pretty well." she eyed the fifth man to appear, Great... she thought. At the sound of sirens she chuckled, "That's my cue, have fun with the cops and robbers, boys." she said. She brought her hand up to her brow, saluting them. She jumped up on a crate and then to the fire escape, just barely making it. She pulled herself upwards as the iron ladder groaned and lowered slightly under her weight. She dashed up the fire escape, her gloves falling from her packet. She grabbed for them, and missed, Ahh... I only get so much luck... she thought, I'll get a new pair. she dashed to the top of the building. She didn't wait to see if anyone was following her as she stopped, the horn had stopped and there was more than one place bustling with sirens, what would she do now?

“Thanks, Sammy.”

Click!

Slipping her phone into her pocket, she slowly pulled herself up to her feet. She reached up in order to stretch her stiff bones and ended up letting out a small sigh of relief. Bending over, she grabbed her small backpack and put it on her back.

Grabbing her sunglasses, she marched over to the kitchen. On the fridge, there was a little mirror magnetized to the fridge door. She’d meant to make sure her lipstick wasn’t smudged and that she didn’t have dried up drool on her or something. But, catching sight of her eyes, she felt herself immediately tense.

The blackness swam inside of her eyes like ink, the whites of her eyes having this black inkiness pouring into it from her iris. It was… creepy. Something she hadn’t really focused on, instead considering it the physical reminder of what she is. Almost on cue, the whispering seemed to become audible, it being just quiet enough for her to not make it out.

Shaking her head, she tried to push away any feelings of unease. Slipping on the dark sunglasses, she looked into the mirror once more. She resumed her usual easy-going and uncaring smile, baring her teeth. Giving a nod to her reflection, she went to walk away when she caught sight of her jacket.

She hadn’t paid it much attention when she grabbed it, shoving it on without much notice. Her smile widened. Her brother had picked it out for her, saying it was nice to see a lighter color on her. He was still in the mindset that darkness was bad and lightness was good. He considered her an exception, regardless.

Warmness bubbling up inside her, she tried to return to the situation at hand. Leaving the kitchen, she waltzed form the kitchen towards her brother’s room. Knocking twice, she peeked her head in. She had to resist the urge to go ‘aww’ at seeing him curled up on his bed hugging a skeleton plushie. Sure, he may be tall and seem all dangerous-looking and grown up to outsiders but… he was her little bro, through and through.

Moving forward, she sat down on the bed. Taking a few seconds to watch them, she continuously repeats to herself that she was ‘Doing it for him. All for him’ to herself as she pokes him on his cheek repeatedly.

“C’mon bro, gotta wake up now. Gotta drop ya off at yer good ole’ buddy Sam’s house.” It was as she was saying this, she really noticed the accent. Too much time in New York, she reasoned with a shake of her head as her brother immediately sat up with excitement.

“I get to see Sam? Really? Wow!” Michael exclaimed, jumping up from bed to grab his shoes and his orange backpack, all the while Felicity watched him with a content expression and a happy grin.

“Ready!” Michael had exclaimed, expression bright as he stood in front of her, practically vibrating from excitement. Chuckling, Felicity stood up purposely slowly, purposely taking her time in stretching, enjoying the way her brother’s face flushed a pretty shade of red as he grew impatient.

“Come on, lazybones! We’ve gotta go!” Michael insisted, grabbing her hand and tugging her after him as he ran to the door, dragging Felicity along with him.

My bro is so cool, she thought to herself as they left the apartment.

Locking the door behind her, she held her brother’s hand as she walked him to Sam’s door. Stopping outside of it, she turned to her brother. “Now, what’re the rules?”

Michael’s face scrunched up in an adorable way as he tried to think.

“Don’t leave Sam.”

Nod.

“Listen to him no matter what.”

Nod.

“Be on my best behavior.”

Nod.

“Call you if something goes wrong.”

Nod.

Raised eyebrow.

“Oh yeah! And try to use my inside voice.”

Felicity gave a pleased nod, leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek and ruffle his dark hair while he whined. Adjusting her sunglasses, she reached out her hand and knocked.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Were you related to the victim at all?" The police officer asked.
"No sir. I was just walking by when I saw it happen." Stephan replied.
"You say there was a third man."
"Maybe. He ran off as soon as I got here. Didn't get a good look at him."
"And... your hand?"
"Helped my uncle repaint his house. I accidentally dipped my hand in the bucket; it doesn't really come off easy."
The policeman scribbled in his book some more before moving back towards his car.
"I'm off to get these 2 to the station. You stay out of trouble from now on, you hear?" He said to Stephan.
"Will do, officer." Stephan said.
He watched as the car pulled out of the street and retreated back the way it came. He turned and walked back into the alley as he contemplated the night's events. The police had taken the bat which was fair enough, although he wasn't sure it would help much considering Stephan's fingerprints were all over it. The girl had gone, which was unfortunate considering he'd wanted to ask her about her hand. It had been very similar to his, and judging by the way she reacted to it, they may have had similar experiences. Still, she'd left something behind and Stephan was going to pick it up. A pair of gloves, likely to hide her own red hand. As he stooped down to retrieve them he was reminded of the glove he'd left behind at the park. He'd go back to pick it up later - there was one more thing he wanted to check out tonight.

Stephan walked out of the alley, glancing left and right. He began going in a direction that he figured the car crash would be. That wasn;t his current objective, however. When he'd interfered with that situation he'd glanced a man going by out of the corner of his eye. His gait implied that he was perhaps inebriated, or maybe he just wasn't entirely "there". But Stephan could've sworn he'd seen something moving under the man's skin, though when he looked again, the man was normal. From the girl's hand and the prowess she displayed in handling the 2 men, the probability that there were others like him was almost 100%. If so, it was possible that the man was also similar to them. And even if he wasn't, it wasn't like Stephan had anywhere to be at the moment.

Cori Woods
Third and Main? Cori's lips pursed as she watched the officer stroll away, suddenly worried about her car again. She didn't dare approach the grouchy officer again, though. She had never had an issue with the law--especially after having her own car stolen--and that wasn't going to start today. "When things cool down, I'll just have to make a formal report. This night seems a little crazy for the department," she decided out loud, ending with an exasperated sigh. She loved her car, but she was already thinking about the next one she could get. Rolls Royce was rather stylish...

She shook her head and looked to the other girl. "Thanks. But did you say wooden sword?" Her eyebrow raised slightly--she was clearly judging the other.

When the paramedic approached, a new smile appeared on her lips. Her eyes flickered up and down his tall figure and she smoothed her hair out. "Yes, of course. I'm Cori Woods," she responded with a suddenly light tone. Was it too obvious? she worried, pink creeping over her cheeks and ears. She cleared her throat and gave the man her number, suddenly shy as his attention turned to Himeko.

After being questioned by the police who seemed to notice his whatever
-high, pulling out a pair of plastic handcuffs and saying:
"We'll need to take you in.", Darren could not care less and let The cop do his thing before noticing the pinkish hand belonging to Stephan. The blood rushed to his fingers again and the knifes came out, Darren cut through the plastic cuffs and rushed towards Stephan, grabbing his arm and taking a closer look at the hand.
"You're like me!", Darren pulled his own hand up to show the mark and the blades, "can you do the same?" he asked before being pulled back by the officer, he struggled, "Please, I need to know!", at that point the officer pushed him down in an arm lock, Darren tried to keep his blood running smoothly but soon turned his whole hand into a blade, the officer stood back in shock, falling to the ground then screamed only then noticing the cut in his hand.
