Zeke had finally found the best spot when he felt Yellow's shadow fall across him. He looked up to object just as Yellow said something stupid. He laughed. Not out of cruelty, but just because he'd said something funny. "Boys don't have breasts, Yellow," Zeke pointed out. "Girls do." Camera ready for the perfect shot of a rainbow, he turned back to the fountain.

"CANNON BALL!" Somebody shouted. Zeke jumped backwards, his carefully planned photograph ruined as two people splashed into the fountain. Water cascaded down on him a moment later. The shock of the cold water getting him over his fright faster than usual, he hurriedly made sure his camera was alright. The water had beaded on it, and he wiped off the drops.

The screen still showed the last photo. Instead of the rainbow he'd clambered over the girl to find, Zeke saw a frozen wave of the two people breaking the water's surface. "Yellow! Icy!" He shouted. "Come look!" He held up the camera, but realised that they might not be able to see it properly. "Wait, I'll draw it for you."

Dia stood back as her friends moved forward. There was another new person, a girl, and she felt really... Bland... Compared to her. She looked down, frowning.

I look like a child compared to her... she thought​ dejectedly. I don't even comprehend how she's comfortable with herself enough to wear that.

She was roused from her thinking from a bit of poor wording. She felt herself blush at it, given her own train of thoughts.

And then there was a splash and even as far back as she was, she almost got soaked.

Hearing Zeke, she moved forward quickly, stopping just as quickly as he mentioned painting.

Staying apart seemed like the best option, in her opinion. Everything was so chaotic.

"Why does is always have to be so messy?" She blurted out. "Why can't everything just be in order?"

Her eyes got big as she realized how loud she'd been.

Oh god, she whispered inaudibly.

A soft breeze fluttered past her head making her curly blonde wave with the wind for a brief moment. The weather was perfect, together with the water of the fountain softly splashing on her back from time to time made it feel like a bliss being here today. Birds were peacefully cheerping around her just as the students cheerped against each other. Emi didn't have any plans today so it might be nice to sit here with a magazin or her phone in the sun sunbathing all day. Maybe get a snack from somewhere and just laze the day away. Emi closed her eyes for a moment while turning her head up to the sky. Coming to this academy wasn't the worst decision ever after all. It felt a bit of a bother to her doing everything on your own but that hadn't been so bad to her the past two days.

The sudden bump against her thigh made her head snap down at the boy. Her eyes had a somewhat scared look in them for a moment before looking calmer and gentler towards the boy. She game a calm yet sweet smile towards the boy who presumably didn't bump into her out of his own will. The boy seemed to have been in his own little world while looking around the waterfountain for something. Zeke looked just as absent minded as Emi sometimes was, the blonde did seem like a kind person to be around with and cute too.

With a short sorry he continued his search by placing his hand onto Emi her knee and moving on further down the fountain edge. Emi gazed after him with a slight open mouth wondering what he was doing. The sun was taken from her body by the small midday shadow of the boy in front of her. Her head turned up towards the boy his face. Jideh looked really pretty, her cheeks felt a tad warmer than normal. Emi kept gazing at the tall boy wondering why he came up to her like that. He probably was here to keep his airheaded friend from any trouble. But after he began talking her facical expression only looked to be more confused then before. He didn't have any breast so how could he play with them... Why would he say that in the first place. Emi gave the boy a worried look, was the sun to hot for him? He looked beet red, perhaps she should help him to the nurse her office.

Zeke laughed at the pretty boy as he had made that statement. Obviously he had misspoken and was really embarrassed about it now especially now that his friend joked about it even more so. Maybe Emi thought about it the wrong way, perhaps Zeke is looking out for Jideh instead of the other way around. Emi chuckled a little at the two of them.

"You two seem nice. Are you friends?"


-stop time-

Emi didn't know however about what had been happening behind her back. Some punk guy had lifted up a girl he was joking around with and just threw her in the fountain just like that, poor thing. Emi was gonna be a poor thing too pretty soon.

-cut back to normal speed-

A wave of water splashed over Emi and the whole edge of the fountain following with a bigger second wave by the boy jumping in himself too. Emi had tried to move herself out of the way but it was already too late. She was completely drenched.

"Waaa it's cold."


Her hairs were hanging down besides her head like a poor puppy. Her white blouse was sticking close to her body giving her skin an uneasing feeling. She was shaking her arms dry and moved the strands of hair away from her eyes while she was at it. Emi seemed quite sad about her wet clothes but didn't seem like she completely hated it. It was just a bit of a bother. Emi unbuttoned the remaining buttons of her blouse and slowly undid the wet piece of fabric. Underneat she was already wearing a bikini top which was quite a common thing for her to do. It still got some of the attention of the people around her but she seemed completely not bothered by it at all. Emi slowly went on removing her socks and shoes from her feet since that wasn't the nicest feeling either.

The sun was already heating her body again so the cold and shivering had gone away rather quick. Emi always felt warmer then the rest from the sunlight but it probably was still not a good idea to stay out here with a wet half naked body. Emi undid her hair and formed a ponytail with it instead so it wasn't in her face half of the time. Absentmindly she looked around her like nothing had happened to her. She eventually spotted the two in the water next to her and immediatly poked out her hand at them.

"oh... Are you both okay? You will get a cold if you stay in too long..."

Vera watched the teacher leave, and then turned to Lyra with a reply. "Oh, I would love to!"

She chatted with Lyra as the both of them wandered practically aimlessly across the school grounds, occasionally taking interest in a few facilities that they passed. Vera appreciated having someone with her to check the academy out and exchange opinions with, though, she hoped to meet more people along the way, especially other first-years so that they could all begin this so-called journey together. There was always safety in numbers.

"Ooh, we should totally check out the specific places meant for the students of each element one day. You people get the roof, that is so awesome! It does actually makes sense though. The strange thing is, I heard that the light students don't get their own place. I mean, that seems really unfair right now, but perhaps there's a reason for it. Like..."

Vera then trailed off as they emerged into an open area with fountain that seemed to be its main feature. There were a bunch of teenagers hanging around the fountain, and a couple of them were even playing in the water.

"Do you think they're first-years too?" Vera asked her redhead companion, before a grin crossed her face. "Let's go say hi."

She approached the group of teenagers with a gentle wave of her hand. "Hey there! Are all of you new as well?"

Vera then turned to one of them who stood out due to her current clothing. She had her pink-blonde hair in a ponytail, and she seemed well prepared for some time near the fountain. "I absolutely love your top, darling."

”Zafiriel Marie Louise! Dear Lord, am I disappointed in you!”

Grandfather Giancarlo was pacing back and forth in his reception room. Zafiriel, sat in a cushioned sofa in the corner staring at the floor, was mortified. Her cheeks were glowing with a rosy tint. She batted her eyelids to prevent tears from running down her cheeks; it would ruin the makeup her maids had applied on her. Firiel did not quite like her stuffy, heavy lashes sticking out to darken the view she had of the room. When Grandfather hit his cane on the marble floor with a loud clank, Firiel couldn’t help but flinch.

’Don’t show emotion. Don’t show emotion. Else, Grandfather is gonna scold you. Don’t show em –’

”Zafiriel Marie Louise! Are you listening what I have to say about this… incident?!”

”Y-yes, maestro, I am”, she said, wiping the tears from the corner of her eye. As Grandfather’s codemnding gaze fell on her, she straightened her posture and put her hands on her lap.

”Fine, as you should! Now, let me get to the actual issue here. – Why, Zafiriel Marie Louise, why did I see you tangle yourself with the son of Monsieur Leblanc?! He is an important business partner of mine! I do not want to have the name of Paolini get sullied by the HEIR to the corporation! Be so kind and explain yourself!”

”As I said, Grandfather, it was a mere accident. It just so happened I was not looking where I was going and tripped on Monsieur Leblanc – and then we both crashed down on the floor – ”

”ZAFIRIEL MARIE LOUISE! Never, never should you behave in such a manner! It is shameless, impudent – lewd, even! Never, ever let me witness such a horrifying scene again!”

”Yes, Grandfather. I understand.”





As Grandfather’s words echoed in her mind, Zafiriel found herself lying in a boy’s lap, staring up at a pair of golden eyes. She could feel the two teens burn her forehead with their curious stares. In just a few moments, all sorts of feelings flushed through her head. She had acted incosiderately once again – and towards the person she had just hurt. Worriedly, she glanced upwards at the bewildered boy. She was about to say something -

All of a sudden, Silas started to laugh. He laughed and laughed. There seemed to be no end to his tears of joy. A small cloud of steam erupted from the top of Firiel’s head. Surely he was laughing at her and the other girl, them both having embarrassed themselves almost simultaneously.

”Not sure if you've noticed but your panties have been showing this whole time. My advice? Invest in something a little less short. But hey, you do you!”

The other girl turned beet red. In her, Firiel could see a ghost of her younger self. Only it was an overjoyed teenage boy chastising her instead of a furious grandfather. Firiel knew exactly what the girl was going through. She raised her arm to reach out to Kanako to tell her it’s alright. To say she was not the only one having done such things by accident. Her attempt was cut off by Kanako shouting at the still laughing Silas.

”Y-y-y-you're the one looking up indecently! Y-y-y-y-y-you should know not to look up in the first place!”

Firiel felt her upper body wiggle as Silas laughed at the girl’s remark. She felt his rapid breath on her neck – a sensation wiping all other thoughts from her mind. Her whole body shivered with a feeling she had never felt before. She felt a drop of sweat run down her temple. Why has her heart beating so fast? Her rapid heartbeats hammered her eardrums like a summerly thunderstorm. Was she sick? After all, she had not been wearing a jacket during those chill nights during her travels.

”How you doing down there?”

Silas’s earnest question broke Firiel free from her stupor. Suddenly, she was reminded where she was – sitting in Silas’s lap in the hallway she had just blown. Firiel knew Silas was looking at her expecting an answer. Not daring to meet his gaze, she tightly squinted her eyes close. Carefully, avoiding touching the boy, she raised her upper body so she was practically sitting in his lap. She let out a sigh before replying.

”Je vais bien, merci. I’m okay.”

As Firiel opened her eyes, she was blinded by a sudden blast of sunlight squirming its way through the sooty glass. As the light scattered across the hallway, Firiel saw it mirror itself in a strand of Silas’s hair. Slowly, she lowered her gaze.

”Pardonnez-m –”

The word got stuck in her throath. She was staring at Silas with wide eyes, their noses almost touching. His golden eyes really were beautiful. They were shining almost as bright as the sunrays dancing on the ash-covered floor. For a moment, time froze engulfing the two teens in their own little world. Firiel felt her pulse thump against her temples and wrists. Her face was growing very hot –

”Never, ever let me witness such a horrifying scene again!”

The spell was shattered by a memory of her Grandfather’s fuming face. In a godly speed, Firiel sprung on her feet. Realising the situation she had just been in, she bowed to Silas, grabbing her trembling knees.

”Pardonnez-moi! Pardon! I was – I was – tes yeux, magnifiq – non, non! Pardon! I di’nt meaned to!”

Merde! This is bad… This is very bad. He will surely hate me now. Bloody hell, Zafi… What was I even thinking?!

After a while Firiel got up. Her cheeks were glowing rosy, tears running down her cheeks. She bit her lower lip trying to stop her emotions flowing in. She shot a tearful glare to both Silas and Kanako. It all was ruined. She would not dare to talk with these two again in the near future.

Firiel felt a sudden urge to burst in tears of shame. Not wanting to further provoke either of the other two teens, she took a few steps back, planning on making a run for it.

Jake back on the otters pocket subject "Ok what did they look like, how many of them were there, and would you know there names by any......." Jake noticed ShiZhen wasn't as near as concerned as he was and decided to explain. " An 'otters pocket' is another word for 'girl parts' and a 'pocket otter' is another word for 'boy parts' that is why this is a big deal. number one that is rude, disrespectful, and straight out bullying and number two they were being rude, disrespectful, and bullying 'you' and nobody messes with my Shi." Jake grabbed ShiZhen in a bear hug.

"And on the sparing with the head master note that's for when I get better with my element and besides I probably wouldn't win but it's better to learn when your put in a situation where you have to learn in order to survive. It's like when I learned to swim, I just jumped in the creek, it was swim or drown and so I learned to swim pretty quick. Now... Jake noticed they were still soaked and he was still warm."Ok you have ten seconds to take all the electronics out of your pockets if there not already soaked 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...times up!" A huge smile ran across Jake's face as he picked ShiZhen up, ran over to the fountain, and dropped her in. Jake nodded to the other students that were there and then jumped in the fountain as well. "CANNON BALL!!!"

"Th-they sat behind me during the assembly. I didn't turn around to look at them..." ShiZhen replied, while in his hug. Though she was never one to break propriety and hug or let others hug her, with Jake it was different, he was practically a brother to her and besides, there was no stopping his spontaneity.

On his statement about sparring, ShiZhen began protesting, ""B-But there must be safer ways to..." but she was thrown off by his statement about electronics. "I-I've already waterproofed all my...wait...ten seconds...? Eh? Eeeeeeeeehhhhh!?" She yelled as Jake picked her up and splashed them both into the fountain. Disoriented, confused, and having the time of her life, ShiZhen giggled and smiled. Jake always had a knack for taking her mind off of the worries that plagued her, that is, until she heard someone say:

"Why does it always have to be so messy?" She blurted out. "Why can't everything just be in order?"


A cold washed over ShiZhen, pushing away the warm feelings. Turning to the girl with long, black hair, ShiZhen stammered an apology, "I-I'm s-sorry!" Looking around she saw a bunch of people at the fountain, noticing that she had gotten many of them wet, including a boy with an expensive-looking camera. "I-I'm really sorry! I-is everyone okay? Nothing broken?" With glasses askew and wet clothes clinging to her, ShiZhen stood up only trembling legs to give help to anyone who needed it or to take blame from anyone who wanted to give it. It didn't matter to her that it was technically Jake who caused the splash; first of all, she would never throw him under the bus like that, and secondly, the fact that she was present at a time when people were being inconvenienced made her default into guilt-mode.



Catherine floated above the campus grounds when she suddenly heard a loud splash by the fountain. Moving closer, she saw a gaggle of students splashing or getting splashed. She also noticed Jordan nearby and decided to let him handle it while she observed, though she made no attempt to hide and was ready to jump in if he called her down. For the time being, watching these young people have their fun and awkward moments was nothing but pure amusement for her.

Kano Hargor


Location: Academy host building, 3rd floor, overlooking the Fountain

On the hip of Headmaster Kano rested a locked and leather bound book that never left his person for any reason, a treasure cataloguing the memories and events of his life that were most precious to him. The first year students roaming below in the sunlight, relaxing and playing, stirred his mind back to the days when some of his prized students has danced in the moonlight in much the same way.

The book lay on the windowsill wide open as Kano etched this momemt into one of the dozens of pages. Careful to record the name of every student who embraced the opportunity to enjoy thenself and make friendships without judgement.
The book closed quietly, the locking mechanism snapping into place as Kano placed it on his hip again.

"Itsy bitsy spider.." he hummed.

~At the Fountain~

------

Drawn to the whim of the caller, the river flowing about the entire surrounding village responded to the flow asked of it. Long thin lines of crystal blue water snaked through the air, to the outstretched hand of Kano Hargor, idly humming the tune of the nursery rhyme about the spider climbing the drain..

The water swelled high in the sky, its clear blue masked by the skies clear complexion. It was gradual at first as more thin lines of water met and flowed together in the air. At first it was no bigger than a person.. then a large animal. Faster and faster it swelled with the hundreds upon thousands of snaking streams weaving through the air to the gigantic bubble.
Satisfied that the collected water could flood the lower floor, shouls he want to, Kano brought the sphere of swilring water into position.

Right above the fountain.

"Down came the rain.. though these spiders won't be washed out."

His grip on the spher dropped, the circular ball of water hovering perhaps 20 feet above the gathered students, dropped with it. Of course it wouldn't fall as one giant blob of surprise and shock..

"Pop!"

The globe of falling water did just that. When it popped, everything within 20 feet of the fountain was now a major splashzone. Every last student below would be in the localized waterfall and summarily be soaked right through with cold water.

When the last drop fell and everything returned to normality, Kano stood at the doorway to the first floor woth his hands crossed over his chest holding in a slight laugh as he marched out towards the group of students.

"Great weather today. Too bad we get such sporadic bouts of heavy rain." This time he did chuckle. "When you are all done, please dry off. There will be a school announcement for all first year students in 2 hours."

Jordan had spotted Catherine. He'd then decided it would be a brilliant idea to walk very slowly, yet purposely, until he was at a precise angle. Throwing an eye skywards, he cackled softly. His plan was a success. Digging into his pockets, he brought out his pocket spyglass, which naturally, he always carried with him for a variety of needs. He brought the glass up to his eye, lined up his gaze, adopted a goofy grin and adjusted the focus, muttering to himself.

"Why wind users never think to wear pants is beyond m-"

A giant shadow loomed over him, throwing Jordan into high alert. He pocketed the spyglass and saw it an instant too late. His pervy pursuits had been purposely paused by that perfectly pastiched punk of a pesterer, KANO HARGOR!

"DAMN YOU KAAAAAAAAAANNNNNOOOOOOOOO-" The rest of Jordan's melodramatic scream was a mix of gargling and bubbles. He was washed this way and that, the violent currents yanking him around and pulling at his clothes. When the water levels finally returned to normal, that is to say, there wasn't any water sloshing through the square, Jordan found himself washed up and hung on one of the fountain's many spires, hanging a good ten feet in the air.

He was also, unfortunately, hanging rather awkwardly. That is to say, he was hanging by his shorts. Jordan wasn't fond of belts, and this was one instance where he deeply regretted the decision. His shorts, before he could stop them, slipped off, ripped, or otherwise gave way. It was all Jordan could do to muster the strength to lift the waterlogged soil to catch him wetly, painfully, but in one piece.

It was in this sorry, muddied, soaked state, that Jordan formally met several of his new students. The man was wearing boxer shorts that said juicy on the posterior region, and were otherwise decorated with hearts.

"Professor Manilow, at your disservice. My apologies kids, for scarring you prematurely. That was supposed to come later, but our good headmaster is always a hasty one to get to the scarring, if you catch my meaning."

And speak of the devil, Kano arrived just like that. All sarcasm and dry business talk. Two hours, and Jordan would be delivering his speech. Thankfully, his slab had to have escaped the massive torrential rainstorm, safe and high in the teachers' offices. It wouldn't have mattered, because Jordan did excellent work, but you can never be too careful with water damage.

The Headmaster took his leave, and Jordan sat up, wiping the grime from his limbs unsuccessfully. This is why I take sandbaths, Jordan thought crankily. Water is too messy. A nice clean scrub with some uniform grains, and no hassle whatsoever. Gets odours out, gets grime off (assuming you're using clean sand obviously), and it feels heavenly. I could start a spa! Then I'd make a killing! I give the BEST sandbaths! Jordan scowled, remembering the oath he'd taken. Maybe in another life I suppose.

Jordan stood up, and shook himself vigorously. Still covered in mud. Jordan growled angrily and mustered up all of his latent energy. In one virulent jerk, he shot every last earth particle into the ground at his feet. It took far too much effort. Trying to lift a pile of dry towels, versus trying to lift a pile of soaked towels, is a very profound difference. No different with Earth elementalism. It was why Jordan adored working with sand. It felt light as can be, as though he were moving his own limbs. Still, in that burst of effort, Jordan was clean, if still very sodden. He met the rest of the students' eyes and then sagged down onto the fountain. Then, he took a breath, cleared his head, and fell back into the fountain headfirst.

Jordan hated Kano. The bastard always got the last laugh.

Darkness.

Jideh's mind melted. A girl had removed her shirt in front of him, and his gray matter was mush. Utterly useless, Jideh stared. He forgot himself, and he forgot why he'd even felt ashamed to have done... What had he done? There were other people, he heard the voices. There had been a reason why this girl he was staring at had gotten wet in the first place right? Right?

She reminded him of Calla Lilies. Strange how that specific plant came to mind, when all that Jideh could remember of it was that it was poisonous when fresh. It was as though his brain were trying to tell him something...

Before Jideh could piece any of this together, a monolithic blast of ice cold water slammed into him from above.

Needless to say, this cleared Jideh's head quite effectively. Among... other things. He ended up on the ground, looking at of all things, a teacher hanging from the fountain's spire! The teacher seemed to be slipping though, and Jideh extended his reach, but before he could find any fertile earth, he realized... There wasn't any. The teacher slipped and fell, and appeared to be wearing ridiculous underwear, but Jideh's mind was elsewhere. He felt all of the water, choking, and drowning the earth. It felt as though an entire village had been burned down, its crops razed. Such is the destructive power of water, Jideh thought grimly.

Jideh flinched as a few dozen specks of mud splashed onto his already sodden pants. He looked up and saw the teacher, Professor Manly-Load? Was that his name? Professor Manly Load looked tired, fatigued, absolutely put out. Jideh recognized that look anywhere. It was the same look he got when he fed the plants too long, and Jideh almost saw what was going to happen before it did. He rushed forward, trudging through the muck, and reached down into the fountain, a panic descending on him as he reached out and tried to grip one of the professor's arms. "Help!" He croaked, not thinking as he simply tried to pull with all his might. But the Professor, Manly-Load, was well-built with thick bunched muscles, and he was a heavy fellow. Jideh, never having been the physical type and also having a chronic habit of burning more calories than he ate on occasion, was having trouble. He desperately needed the help he was calling for.

Dia found herself on the ground, very near the fountain.

She was staring wide eyed at the retreating Headmaster, a wide mixture of feelings bubbling up through her.

She vaguely registered everything else. She felt everything though.

The wetness of her hair and clothes. That sticky sensation of her clothes clinging to her. The complete, utter loss of control.

Dia felt her breathing quicken, tears flowing from her eyes. But she didn't make a sound.

She decided she couldn't fathom anything anymore. She was drowning in the recent events and emotions, the loss of any sense of symmetry.

The water in the area started slowly freezing over, quickly, with the exception of the fountain. Dia hugged herself, far beyond controlling herself or her powers.

The beautiful girls around her... They didn't have to worry about any of this. The guys didn't have anything close to her to worry about.

She closed her eyes, moving her hands to her head to try and block out all this chaos.

A whimper finally escaped her, quickly followed by a choking sob.

And then all the water within three feet of her froze in a flash freeze.

"WHY?!" she screamed.

There were quite a lot of people near the fountain, and in a few seconds, there would be quite a happy incident. But for that short moment before the heavy splash (and the freezing that followed it), Lyra was completely captivated by the boy near the fountain, the one who was holding a camera the one who was, wait, was he drawing? In the air??. Lyra's mind was reeling. Is he hanging paint in thin air? No, wait, there's nothing there! Is he changing the wavelig-

*SPLASH* *DRAMATIC MUSIC*

Water. She was wet. Everybody was wet, and there's a teacher yelling above. Lyra blinked and stared at her violin. Considering the volume of water that just came, she was surprised to see it survive mostly unscathed. She should take a closer look back in her room.

A little voice in her head was yelling at her, something about the violin making some dramatic music when she wasn't looking?

"WHY?!"
*FREEZE* *A SINGLE LOW NOTE*

"Eek!" She instinctively looked at the violin. It was safe from the freezing spell. Good. Goodness. There are a lot of things to wrap her head around here.

The boy she had tried talking too seemed completely zoned out after she had removed her shirt, with a somewhat worrisome look she angled her head at him. She put a finger on her chin to ponder what had happened, she got a bit closer to him and tiptoed to look into his eyes. She gave a short wave with the other hand directly in front of his face.

"Are you okay?"


A girl with long pretty golden blonde locks had entered the fray as well giving a small wave towards the group of students that had gathered together. Emi didn't completely understand why all these strange people were keeping so nearby to her but it wasn't all too bad. Emi gave a short wave in return looking quite airheaded and a tad curious about the new girl. It felt to her as if she was a peaceful girl to hang around with. Vera had noted on how cute Emi her bikini top was, Emi gave a short bow towards Vera.

"Thank you very much."


Emi patiently turned her airheaded look into a sweet smile. She felt happy the pretty blonde girl had noticed her new bikini top. It was a full white top with a decorative white ribbon in the middle.

"I bought it especially for today hehe."


After that Emi tried helping the two in the fountain by leaning on the ledge of the fountain poking out her hand at the two of them which seemed to no avail. The glasses girl was freaking out about how she made everyone wet around the fountain. Emi felt a bit sorry for the girl feeling so bad about herself.

The sky turned dark making Emi look up for a moment while still being stretched out over the fountain. She thought it was a cloud or something but it was not, there was still sunlight shining through but just not as dense as it was before. She wondered what it was but before she could give any judgement to what it was she had already become even more wet. The entire area had been flooded with water making everything and everyone completely drenched. Emi had lost her balance and had fallen into the fountain head first while trying to help the girl. She had been under for about twenty seconds trying to get herself upright again from the sudden shock of falling into the water. Luckily for her it wasn't deep in the slightest so she could just stand in the water.

Emi grasped for air as she got up from under the water, she swung her hair about a little to get all the water out as quick as possible so it wouldn't feel so heavy. Emi glanced around her slowly seeing how the whole area had turned wet, the aftermath of a giant heap of water quickly crashing down. That wasn't normal rain right? If you looked at the building and the ground further from the fountain they were both still dry as sand. Emi was a little confused but ignored it for now, she wanted to help the girl get out first.

"Ugh I hate this..."


Emi swung her hands around trying to get as much water off of her as possible. She slowly pushed the water away as she moved towards the girl, she quickly tried grabbing ShiZhen her hand and moved towards the ledge again.

"C-come... it is c-cold."

Zeke was left more or less in shock. He'd been drawing the beautiful and fantastic image of a splash frozen in time when he'd been dunked in water. No. Not dunked. Drowned. He was soaked through, his hair covering his eyes and ears, and... Worst of all... His camera got wet.

He pressed the button and the screen flickered to life, the splash still on the screen. A sigh of relief passed his lips, then he looked up for his drawing... It wasn't there. He looked around, but it was completely gone. All of his work gone! "M-m-my..." He stuttered, his breath catching in his throat.

Then Icy screamed from behind him. Maybe he'd have been able to hold together despite that. But hurt, scared, and now with the back of his shirt and pants frozen to the floor, he broke down into tears. He curled up, around his camera, and started quietly sobbing.

Vera was about to reply the other blonde female after she had thanked her for her compliment, when it suddenly seemed like a shadow was cast over the fountain. It didn't look like it was made by something solid, however. It looked more like... Vera glanced up, her eyes widening in alarm. Water?!

The event that followed happened way too quickly, and the next thing Vera knew, she had been washed several feet away from her original position near the fountain. She quickly pulled herself to her feet, swiftly and expertly gathering her wet golden hair in her hands before wringing the water out. She turned back to check on Lyra to find that she, and her violin were both alright. Annoyance clearly written on her face, Vera strode back to the fountain in time to hear the information given by the headmaster. It looked like the rest of these kids were first-years as well. Was this how announcements were made at the academy? She should have known that there was a catch to this beautiful school.

Vera then jumped when one of the girls present suddenly screamed out loud, the surrounding water which she hadn't noticed was slowly turning to ice almost immediately freezing at the same time. The Light Elementalist was stunned at this reaction. She had expected the others to be irritated or slightly upset, but this girl seemed practically traumatized. Her scream and act of freezing the water around her appeared to have frightened another student - a platinum blond boy who had started crying.

Her eyes darted from one sobbing teen to the other, before attempting to gently address them. "Oh my, calm down loves, it- it's just water..."

Vera's attention then turned to an adult man in heart boxers who had started speaking. He introduced himself as 'Professor Manilow', before collapsing headfirst into the fountain. She didn't know what to think anymore. The entire situation was just too strange. One of the students, another teenage boy, rushed over to help the teacher, but he seemed to be struggling and called out for help. Vera snapped out her thoughts, trudging over to assist him, though, she didn't prove to be of much help in getting the teacher out either. She urgently glanced around, hoping for someone else to lend a hand.


Xavier pulled his head off of his desk, waking to the sounds of chaos that seemed to be coming from below. He could also faintly make out someone cursing at the headmaster. What in the world was going on, and how long had he even been out for? He made his way over to the window of his office and drew the blinds open to look over the square below, only to see the aftermath of Kano's 'prank'. There was water everywhere, and it appeared that everyone in that area had been drenched. He spotted an obvious victim, who was hanging by his pants from one of the fountain spires. Manilow... of course. He and the headmaster had quite the rivalry going on. The science teacher let out a snort at his plight, thankful that he was higher up and escaped the disaster.

Xavier then turned his attention to the other unfortunate victims. The students that were caught in the shower didn't look too pleased. Two of them even looked extremely distraught. Oh boy, look what you've done, Hargor. Seems like you've really upset a couple of them. He was rather intrigued by what one of them had done to the surrounding water. Ice? That's interesting...

He couldn't help but cringe when he saw Jordan slip out of his pants, revealing his heart boxers. He watched as the gym teacher tried to address the students, feeling even more relieved that he wasn't down there with the rest of them, though, he immediately grew concerned when Jordan fell face-down into the water. He was going to drown if he wasn't pulled out of there soon. Xavier saw a couple of students try to help him, to no avail. He had spotted Hargreaves hovering above the place, but wasn't sure if she had noticed the urgent situation. He thought it best to make his way down in case his help was needed, and promptly left his office for the square.

Current location: Ground Zero, Fountain.

The end result had been less jovial than previously envisioned. Though it had sparked to life in a few of the students an opportunity to release their emotions in a display of elemental force. Even if they did not understand why. So it was that when Dias pittiable whimper and show of force froze everything within her proximity to ice, Kano was already strolling forward at a jovial pace to her.
As he strolled by the fountain he hooked a finger at it and flicked his wrist, the waters spewing out the usually dirty teacher Jordan Manilow, now down to his underwear apparently. Kano chose to ignore this fact, his focus unrelentingly drawn to the ice.

The girl sobbed quietly, emotions a jumble and likely overwhelmed by the days events. A boy with a camera nearby had also turnee on the waterworks and had been caught in the ice. Poor boy was soft, stuck, and cold.
An idle wave of his hand shattered the ice around Dia and held it aloft, a slow moving series of ice shards lazily orbiting her.
The ice on the boy was different. Instead of shattering, it simply melted. As quickly as it had formed into ice before, now it had turned to warm water.

"Why?" The Headmaster echoed a moment later, his hands idly picking out the largest and well formed chunks of ice floating about the girl. "For this. To see how the untrained react to the unexpected and overwhelming moments."

Kano gave another slight wave of his hand, all the ice around and on Dia turned to water and flowed back to the caller. It only took a few seconds for every last drop of moisture that had been dampening her clothing to have collected in his outstretched hand, leaving her completely dry. The orb of water was idly tossed behind Kano, back into the fountain with a tiny splash.

"You've been brought here to learn of your ability and control it. The first step is using it. Your emotiona tie into your power, the result is often situations where you are overwhelmed by them. Fear, anger, even doubting your own appearance can effect your control. To this I believe that without being pushed, being confronted with challenges large or small, a student cannot overcome their own hearts and begin to control the elements. You must hold the reigns, Dia. Even when you are to upset to think, your element must be controlled. Otherwise you risk injury to yourself and others you may come to regret.

Long winded speech done, Kano offered his hand out for the girl to take.

"Will you rise above your doubts and learn?"

Dia looked at the Headmaster wearily, confused on so many accounts now.

"The basic underlying truth is that it can kill you. We're mostly water. What happens when that water freezes immediately inside you?" She asked through her tears, sounding different than normal. "The other underlying truth is that water expands upon freezing, unlike anything else. Given purity, water turned ice is structured, uniform, simple even in it's complexity. It can promote healing, in an abstract way, or quicken the end of things."

She gingerly took the offered hand, closing her eyes. "Please, I need help. Everything is wrong. I'm wrong. I want to heal, not hurt," she continued quieter, sounding much more like her normal scared self. "I-i-i want to be..." She trailed off, unsure of what she was even saying anymore.

"I made friends for the first time today. Assuming I didn't lose them now. It's a step forward, isn't it?" She asked, looking for answers.

Is he right? Can he help me control it so I don't always make people cold around me? Will I ever be remotely normal again? she questioned herself.

As Silas had predicted, the new girl turned crimson at the mention of her careless flashing. Albeit her reaction was not nearly as comedic or dramatic as Zafi's moments earlier. Silas knew that he may have been a bit too cruel by straight up telling the new girl that she'd been exposing herself to both himself and Zafi, but he thought it was better than not telling her at all.

Besides, it's not like he would hold a girl flashing him on day one against her. It was only the first day and as far as Silas was concerned, nobody else needed to know about anything that happened here today. His laughter was only because Zafi had acted so... weirdly, it was all in good fun.

"I-I-I-I-It's not my fault, you pervert! This skirt is an uniform from my old school so the length is totally normal! Y-y-y-you're the one looking up indecently! Y-y-y-y-y-you should know not to look up in the first place!"

Or so it was until the new girl decided to try and blame Silas for her own mistakes. This girl had the NERVE to throw back insults while Silas tried to make light of the situation, so Silas decided to make a few more jokes... at her expense of course.
If you want to start throwing insults around, I've got quite a few for you...

" First, I'm not a pervert, you shoved that in my face! Secondly, unlike a certain person here at least I have enough dignity to not go around flashing people I just met." Silas said, his words dripping with spite and sarcasm with a cocky grin on his face.

Looking down into his lap, Silas found Zafi with her eyes nearly closed, slowly rising.

”Je vais bien, merci. I’m okay.”

Well that was a relief, Silas was worried that Zafi would be embarrassed beyond recognition because of the recent comedy of errors.

”Pardonnez-m –”

All of a sudden, Zafi had gotten very close, and she was staring and him with wide, azure eyes. Eyes that were deep enough to get lost in, as Silas found out. The outside world crumbled away, and for a moment the two were alone. It was nice, sure Zafi was weird but she was also a nice person.

The moment ended abruptly when Zafi shot to her feet like a rocket and started... bowing?

”Pardonnez-moi! Pardon! I was – I was – tes yeux, magnifiq – non, non! Pardon! I di’nt meaned to!”

"Um Zafi? What's up with the bowing?"

For whatever reason, Zafi had got up and began retreating with tears in her eyes. Silas stood up as well but he did not move any closer, the tear-ridden visage of Zafi was enough of a sign to convince Silas to give her some space. I didn't do that, right? She's not crying because I did something bad... right? Unsure of what had occurred and without any idea of how to proceed, Silas went ahead the only way he knew how to, up front.

"Whoa, Zafi why the tears?"

The word dancing on the tip of her tongue was 'normal'. That simple line of thinking in an older student had always sparked a wrath in the Headmaster, who viewed the intertwining of elemental practices into everday life as completely nornal. It was natural.
To Kano, a day without someone working in tandem with the powers they wielded, would be the strangest day he could imagine. But for a fledgeling just beginning their journey to understanding it was a good sign. It was a natural starting point.

"I do not believe you will lose friends over something you have little true control over. If anything, Miss Sidonia, you will only continue to make friends. That is the community we build. Trust, friendship, respect. We thrive whede others would falter.."

A thin line of water was slowly rising from Kanos feet, taking shape to the invisible will of the practitioner. Control was achieved through understanding. Hnderstanding came from a place of respect. To shape the element you were blessed with required time.
In the capable hands of Kano the form of a rose bloomed to life, made from crystal clear ice so perfectly smooth and well shaped to the resemblance of the plant, that you could swear it was made of diamonds.

The rose was cold to the touch but even as he placed it in thr girls hands, it was clear that nothing would melt its exquisite form unless Kano willed it.

"You will learn to wield your gift with time. Much as I have done, so to will you. The rose is yours, a reminder of sorts. When you can shape from the ice something that mirrors the beauty of your body and soul, we will march further into understanding. Until then, practice. Learn from mistakes. The chill you give off will obey your will when you learn what subtle worry controls it."

Of course, Kanako didn't take kindly to this. Oh no, not at all. She could feel her embarrassment and rage mixing into one. There was no way she would just let this one slide!

"I-I didn't flash my panties in purpose, you idiot! Y-you people just keep standing in places you shouldn't be standing!" she retorted.

Kanako glared at the boy, steeling herself for his inevitable rage-filled response. But instead of that, what she witnessed was something straight out of a shojou manga. The boy was now staring deeply, too deeply into the girl's eyes. Kanako was instantly assaulted with the feeling that she had stumbled into something she wasn't supposed to be there for.

And then, the girl shot up, before profusely bowing and apologizing to the boy with tears in her eyes. The girl also shot a tearful glare at Kanako, which she certainly had no idea how to respond to. She then took a few steps back, clearly intending to make a run for it, but not before the boy stopped her on her tracks, asking why she was crying.

With all these bizarre things happening, even Kanako couldn't stay angry anymore.

"H-hmph, I'm out of here!" Kanako said nonchalantly to the two, not really caring if they could hear her or not. She was weak to all this sappy lovey dovey stuff and she wasn't just going to stand here watching the two get it on. She had better places to go to after all, like to the courtyard where Professor Jordan told her to wait in.

Dia took the ice rose with wide eyes. "It's... Perfect," she murmured in an awestruck voice. "Perfect structure. Perfect resemblance."

She looked back up at the Headmaster, wiping away her tears. "Thank you," she said softly. She practically hugged the rose, already thinking of how she would be able to carry it with her everywhere.

Everything else around her started falling into place in her mind, and she let out a little gasp.

She turned and ran over to Zeke, sitting on her knees, and threw her arms around him. "I'm sorry, Zeke," she said quietly into his shoulder. "Are you okay? Is the camera okay?"

I will be better... Somehow.

"P-picture broken," Zeke mumbled, almost in response but not quite. Having his work interrupted hurt, in a way. He put a lot of effort into making the colours right, especially with things like the pepper rock, but this... The splash had been transparent. He'd never painted transparent before. It wasn't a colour but it changed light and he had to figure out how to change the light properly and...

He dissolved into sobbing again. He was so close to figuring it out. Then the water and the cold and... "Icy!" He lifted his head up. "You froze me! That hurt!" He pushed her away. "And it's cold and I'm cold. And you're cold and I want warm." He put his hands around himself, shivering a little. "Can you warm me up, Icy?" He looked at her, pouting. "Take the ice away and make it warm, I think."
