KOSEI ACADEMY - OPENING CEREMONIES
@Animal | @Araby264 | @yahoo3422 | @Superboy

They came from all corners of Japan, by air, land, and sea to attend. No matter their route they all eventually found themselves aboard the train that took them to the city of Musutafa which was host to the academy. There they are welcomed by several black cars with Kosei Academy written across their sides in a bold flowing text along with the school's emblem of a dove-like wings. Like a well oiled machine, the car arrive, load, and depart without end like a serious of cogs working in perfect unison. In time, the buses eventually pulled free from the concrete jungle of a city, and they were all awarded with a clear view of the island which Kose Academy was located at.

The school was an expected sight but no matter how many images they had seen or descriptions they were given it was impossible for them to truly grasp the size of it. It was a city onto itself complete with dozens of buildings with hundred of people already moving about between them. The academy may have attracted their eyes first but it was hardly the only thing to be seen. A great sweeping forest dominated the area and a clear blue lake could be seen opposite them on against the far mountains. It was hard to imagine such idyllic scenery still existing somewhere. Looking down on it all like this made it feel as if it were from another world. That everything that laid outside that wall of mist existed somewhere else, far away from were they are now. The closer they came to the school the deeper that feeling became.

Outside the main entrance, just over a hundred seats had been set out for them before an ornate stage where already several faculty were seated. A few members of the faculty and staff greeted the new arrivals with smiles and directed them to take up a seat while they waited for the opening ceremony to begin. They were told not to worry about their luggage for it would be taken to their dorms, but they deferred any questions as to what their dorms would in fact be. Simply informing them that the housing announcements were running late and would be made known in shortly. With the constant stream of cars, they only had a few minutes to spare for each batch of arrivals before they had to see to a new one.

OOC: Just something to get things started. I wanted to post something but nothing that significant to allow others who wish to join to quickly catch up. Feel free to react with each other and if you want to have one with an NPC, you can create one. Just give me a brief description of the NPC so that I can build them for future uses.

Dante sat in the car that was driving her to Kosei Academy, the view took her breath away. she had never seen anything like this In the orphanage. As the vehicle came to a stop, the driver told her it was her turn to get out, so she thanked the man and began to make her way to the main entrance, where is seemed that most of the students who had arrived were waiting. Dante couldn't help but grin.
"so, this is where I'll be training my quirk, eh? I bet there're some strong opponents here."
Dante looked the students up and down, trying to see if she recognized any of them as being strong opponents. She mostly just got an eyeful of amazed students. There were a few people like her, taking in the competition and just observing. She slowly made her way over to a seat, still watching the people around her.
This is gonna be AWESOME!!!

// Kosei Academy - Front Gate - Morning of Day 1 \\

Eir Hayashi stared out the car window at the rolling green hills and thick forest that passed by. Butterflies scrambled about in her stomach, indicating the young girl's growing apprehension. She could feel the tension in her body as her muscles locked up. After years of torturous 'training' beneath her father, Teruo, Miss Hayahi was finally going to take her first step in her journey to becoming a hero. Eir was terribly anxious about the whole thing. If she didn't do well here, she knew the sort of reprimanding that awaited her when she was sent home. To avoid such punishments, Eir would have to do her very best at Kosei Academy. She doubted she'd live up to her father's inane and grossly disproportionate expectations. He assumed his daughter would some day go on to become one of the very best heroes to ever live. Eir knew she could never reach such heights. Still, she needed to try, if not just to avoid his wrath. Hayashi was also a tiny bit glad to be going to the Academy. It meant time away from her parents. Eir didn't know what the teachers and students would be like here at Kosei, but she assumed they were better company than the kind Hayashi held back home.

'Maybe I'll finally get some time to myself.'

The bright green landscape gave way to a magnificent sight. Standing tall above everything around but the peaks of the nearby mountaintops was Kosei Academy. The school was absolutely gigantic. Before, Eir couldn't have imagined that the school was a proto-city; but now here she was, staring at the towering buildings that gleamed hopefully in the morning light. Hundreds of people moved to and fro among the concrete and steel pillars to human achievement. The sprawling metroplex blew away all of Hayashi's expectations, even if she had seen pictures of the place beforehand. No photograph could do the place justice. Eir also saw more of the black cars pulling onto the same road hers inhabited. More students, she guessed. Hayashi leaned up out of her chair, practically pressing her face against the glass to get a better view of it all. Her anxiety took a backseat to pure astonishment and awe. There was a quiet chuckle from the driver's seat as Eir audibly gasped. "I felt the same way when I first saw the place." The mustached, sixty some years old man responsible for her transportation commented with a smirk. Eir turned to look at him, smiling from ear to ear.

They came to a stop right outside the front gate, lined up with the other dozens of identical cars. Hayashi plopped back into her chair, waiting patiently for the driver to step out and come around to her side. The aging gentleman opened up the back passenger side door, motioning widely toward the many chairs set up in front of a stage. "You'll be inducted right over there. I'll make sure your luggage gets to your room. Best of luck to you, miss." Hayashi peeled herself from the leather seat, her converse hitting the pavement beneath her with a dull thud. She looked up at the taller man, bowing respectfully to him. "Thank you, sir!" Eir exclaimed. She quickly rushed out of the road, making a beeline for the staging area. There were tons of people that looked just like her, absolutely enthralled by the wonder of the Academy. Eir's smirk faltered at the handful of individuals that weren't smiling ear to ear. They looked over the crowd like prowling lions, looking for unsuspecting prey to devour. Hayashi put her hands in the pockets of her magenta hoodie to hide their shaking.

The short girl's pink and white hair, a result of her mother's quirk being partially passed on to Eir, bounced in the cool breeze. Eir maneuvered through the crowd, quickly moving to find a seat before all of the good ones were taken. She found a nice spot near the outside edge of the seats, toward the middle of the pack. Hayashi should've been practically invisible there, despite her bright clothing; she was in a hero academy, where appearances like hers were par the course. Eir's eyes wandered over the growing crowd of perspective superheroes. She noticed one particularly tall girl, perhaps six feet in height or maybe an inch shorter, seated a little bit ahead of her. Hayashi didn't usually see girls that height, at least any that were in the age bracket the Academy housed. I wonder what her quirk is... Eir wondered, finding herself staring for an uncomfortably long amount of time.

Dante sat enjoying the speculative people watching and the gorgeous weather. She wondered idly if anyone had been doing the same to her... wondering what she was capable of. It would make sense considering the large amount of students present, but she didn't think she would stand out that much. As Dante was pondering this, she felt a light breeze blow her raven black hair back slightly. She hardly cared for her hair, but it somehow always seemed to be smooth. Dante thought that her hair was pretty much the opposite of her hands, which were constantly rough and calloused. Whelp, It would suck if my hair got in someone's face. She reached back and grabbed the un-brushed, ill-cared-for, somehow-not-a-frizzy-mess strands of keratin attached to her scalp in her rough, calloused hands and pulled it back, quickly tying it into a messy bun. As she had her head turned while tying the bun, Dante happened to glance over her shoulder to see a shock of pink and white hair. It wasn't that unusual to see someone with odd colored hair, but something about it just seemed to grab her full attention. It took Dante a moment to realize that the girl was also looking directly at her. Dante's eyes met hers, so she gave a big, friendly grin and waved with her free hand.

As she finished tying her hair up she stood, almost knocking another student over as she did so. ,"Ah, sorry, man." She continued to walk down the way to narrow aisle, moving herself through the somewhat dense crowd of people. Dante finally made it out of the dense crowd and began systematically working her way over to where the interesting girl was sitting. As she got closer to the girl the crowd seemed a little more sparse, not much, but a little, which made walking easier. When she was finally close to the girl, or you know, close enough to talk anyway, she approached with the same grin as before and spoke with what she hoped was a charming tone. Can't start on making friends and allies to early.
"Hi, I'm Dante. I couldn't help but notice you were looking at me, so I thought I'd come over and introduce myself."

The car came to a quick halt in front of Kosei Academy and the jolt woke Iccho from his sleep. He quickly came to his senses and quickly stepped out of the car. The light of the sun was blinding and it took a few seconds to adjust. Iccho started towards the back of the car to unload his luggage, but the chauffeur stopped him.

"Your luggage will be delivered to your dorm room which you will head to after orientation," the driver interjected rather abruptly. This did not sit right with Iccho, the duffel bag had been his father's and it brought him back to the days on the sea the two spent together. It was because of Iccho's father that he even came to this academy. His father was a man of strong morals and a strong moral compass. Iccho inherited this from his father, but he did not inherit his father's gregarious personality. Where his father was able to lead his crew with ease, Iccho always had a problem of having people follow his lead. Iccho feels that the duffel bag, and it's contents connect him to his father's spirit and help him grow to be like his father.

Iccho knew that his father would just laugh off the stern driver, but that is difficult for Ichho. Through gritted teeth Iccho mumbled, "That's fine. Just make sure nothing is tampered with." Iccho then forced a smile and made his way toward the crowd. He let his eyes lead his legs as he made his drifted toward his new classmates. His eyes wandered as the march towards his future drew closer. Growing up in basically a glorified fishing village made this forested miniature city seem like a different country. The opulence of the entire campus came off as slightly gaudy to Iccho. This is the wealth that city folk have while those on the outskirts have to fend for themselves. Sure there are more villains in the big cities, but when a villain strikes in the boonies; it will take hours for any hero to show up and help. That is why his father died and Iccho swore to become a certified hero. Then he would move back home and be the hero that helps the islanders of the Nagasaki Prefecture.

He didn't have time to dwell on anger though; his father would never do that. As he came back to his senses, he was bumped into by a tall girl with long black hair. She said a quick informal sorry and then she was gone. Iccho could not stand that. This day had been stressful for him due to the whole move, the driver, the reminder of his poor life, and this was the final straw. He followed her as she weaved her way through the crowd. His mind became singularly focused on speaking to this girl and getting a proper apology from her. The crowd made it tough to follow her, but he was able to pick up her trail once the crowd thinned out. He quickly looked around and then he saw her lording over a much smaller girl. He didn't make any assumptions about what connection they had or what was going on. Iccho just wanted to make sure that he would not be disrespected.

He marched up to the girl and formally introduced himself, "My name is Iccho Matsuo. You just bumped into me rather rudely, and I would appreciate a proper apology." He finished his statement with a small sense of accomplishment that he was able to stand up for himself to these city people as he waited for the girl's response.

// Kosei Academy - Front Gate - Morning of Day 1 \\

Eir Hayashi was absent mindedly watching the tall girl fix her hair. She didn't mean to stare, honestly. Eir usually had rather impeccable manners, if only because her parents beat that sentiment into her every single day. 'A hero doesn't have poor etiquette!' Her father would screech if Eir so much as put her elbows on the table. Miss Hayashi was distracted, though. Her anxiety at finally being at admitted into a hero Academy, mixed with the awe inspiring sight of the building's massive size, made Eir forget to keep her wits about her. She had been day dreaming about...something. She couldn't remember exactly what. But whatever thought had been going through her head was abruptly shattered when the raven haired woman waved at her. Eir blinked a few times, recognizing what she'd been doing a moment earlier. Her cheeks flushed red as she scrambled to look anywhere else. Maybe if Hayashi pretended to be doing something else, the stranger would think Eir hadn't been looking at her at all. 'Oh no. Oh no no no.' The short teen panicked. Despite how friendly the prospective hero had been, what with the smile and the wave and all, Eir felt terribly embarrassed about the whole ordeal. It was a minor mistake that her young blind blew so far out of portion, her whole world might as well have been ending.

The nice lady didn't veer from her path toward Hayashi. She was keen to come over and say something. Eir wondered if she was just coming over to say hello, or if the stranger planned to rebuke her for Eir's earlier staring. She hadn't meant to do it! Her head had been on the clouds! It was an honest accident. Hayashi held her breath, occasionally shooting a quick glance toward the approaching figure. Her anxiety peaked when the stranger stopped moving not but a few feet away. Eir forced herself to turn and look at the woman, ready to be chewed apart for her social failings. Only, that's not at all what happened. The woman introduced herself as Dante. She had a disarming smile, and she spoke with an easing charm. Eir's butterflies departed from her stomach, though her shame doubled, her cheeks growing a deeper shade of crimson. 'Say something!' Hayashi internally screamed at herself, realizing she was staring again. 'Don't be stupid. Come on, you can talk!'

Eir opened her mouth, taking a singular breath before saying the first thing to come to mind. "I-I didn't mean to stare, I'm sorry!" Her first instinct was to apologize. 'Great job, E. Fantastic work. You're really good at this whole talking to people thing.' Hayashi reproofed her own ineptitude, as her father might have if he was standing over her shoulder at that moment. Eir realized she needed to introduce herself as well, lest she continue her string of rudeness. "I'm...I'm Eir Hayashi. It's very nice to make your acquaintance, Miss Dante." The small wannabe hero jumped out of her seat, shuffling over in front of Dante. She curtsied, formally introducing herself in an effort to repair her already soiled reputation. Eir also thought to tell the older teenager why she was looking at her earlier, perhaps to ask her about her quirk.

The opportunity to continue the conversation was abruptly stolen away from Eir by the arrival of another figure. This time a boy. He was a good deal shorter than Dante, but judging by his features and developed body, the guy was around her age. He, like most people, was still a few inches taller than Eir. She might as well have been a bonafide midget by how often she had to look up at people her own age to speak to them. Hayashi subconsciously slunk back behind Dante, keeping her distance from the man. Whoever he was, he didn't look very happy at all. He was the polar opposite of Eir's new acquaintance. He formally introduced himself as Iccho Matsuo. He didn't speak like most people Eir had met; was he from far away? Or maybe he just had a different set of rules of etiquette that made him seem different. Whatever the case, he had Eir's attention for the time being. "Um. Pardon me, sir." Hayashi spoke up from behind Dante, poking her head around the tall girl's legs. "But I don't believe following after Miss Dante and demanding an apology is proper behavior." Eir rather naively pointed out, completely forgetting that pointing that out to Matsuo was equally as rude as his own and Dante's behavior.

Dante couldn't help but let out a quick chuckle at the smaller girl's shyness. It was quite adorable, that she seemed to be So polite about everything. Then when the other girl, she now knew her name was Eir, actually curtsied Dante blushed a bit and rubbed the back of her neck. She spoke tenitavely, somewhat embarrassed by the level of formality.
"Th-there's no need to apologize, and please don't call me 'miss' it's a bit to formal for my tastes, you can just call me Dante. Would it be alright if I called you Eir, or do you prefer Miss Eir.. or um... Miss Hayashi?"
Dante began to ramble for a bit, she really had never been taught anything about formality, so she really didn't know what to do in this situation.
Just as Dante felt as if she were going to die of embarrassment from not knowing squat about ettiqute, a boy who was a bit smaller than her came up and started going off about her not apologizing correctly. Her friendly demeanor waivered a bit. She did not appreciate being talked down to or yelled at, but maybe she had made a mistake. Eir, who Dante hadn't realized moved behind her, spoke up in her defence. It made Dante smile. she reminds me of some of the kids at the orphanage. Dante was suddenly filled with the desire to get to know this girl. Dante turned back to the boy, who had introduced himself as Iccho Matsuo, and have a terse smile, that seemed to barely be forced into place. Her voice still gave off a friendly tone when she spoke though.
"I agree with my friend here, it isn't very nice to chase after someone like that, and I also believe that I did apologize to you a minute ago. If that apology wasn't good enough, I don't really know how to make it up to you...But i can tell you one thing"
Her voice drops an octave, and her eyes drill into the boy, iccho's. She was a little angry for being approached like this, and there was no way She was apologizing again after that.
"I won't be apologizing again."

I guess you can't start to early on making enemies either.

Iccho could not believe his ears, both of these girls opposed him and his want for a true apology. It wasn't an outlandish request, in fact it would be proper to apologize. Sure Iccho might have been out of proper etiquette by following her and demanding an apology, but he was not overtly aggressive with his want for an apology. Now he is dealing with "Miss Dante" and her aggressive behavior with here apparent distaste to manners.

Iccho addressed the small girl behind Dante, "You are probably right. It has just been a rough and hectic day. I apologize that I didn't catch your name." Iccho realized that the little girl was the best option for getting out of this situation peacefully. Still, he could not let the fact that the she-giant spurned his demand. She even got defensive, and it was apparent through her change in tone. Her eyes became lasers that burrowed their way into Iccho's mind. He had to stand up for himself in this academy if he ever wants to become the best student, and it looked like he just found his first rival.

"I was just looking for a proper apology, not a quick glance of pity. A true hero should never turn to anger, so quickly," Iccho commented on Dante. He could tell that she was getting defensive, and he also realized that he probably wasn't helping the situation by goading her on. Still, his mouth moved before his mind could properly create a response. Iccho was in too deep now and he could only hope for a miracle to end this situation. His father would be disappointed that this is how he would make his first rival. That is the thought that ran through Iccho's head as he awaited the responses from the girls.

// Kosei Academy - Front Gate - Morning of Day 1 \\

The situation was beginning to escalate, that much was certain. Dante had been fairly easy going and friendly when she approached Eir earlier, which had been a blessing; Hayashi was glad her first interaction at Kosei Academy, while a little awkward, was a net positive one. The colossal student had looked intimidating at first. It wasn't exactly proper to assume based on appearances, but just looking at Dante, Eir's first instinct told her the raven haired girl would be trouble. Their brief exchange of hellos and introductions would have Hayashi believing that presumption false- only, the exchange continued. Someone else Hayashi didn't know came up to them, demanding an apology from Dante for an earlier slight. Eir wasn't sure what to make of the boy. He seemed a little aggressive, but not overly so; he was obviously flustered by Dante bumping into him. 'Dante said she already said she was sorry.' Eir reasoned in her own mind. It was either a disingenuously apology or Iccho was looking for further retribution. It wasn't easy picking sides, though Hayashi wouldn't have even if it was easy; the better option was to get both parties to come to an agreement and deescalate the confrontation. That was easier said than done, given how Eir typically fumbled even the most basic social interaction. Stopping a fight was not something Eir was good at.

Hayashi's face fell as Dante straightened her stance and adamantly denied that she would apologize again. 'Nooo. J-just say your sorry.' Eir tried and failed to telepathically beam her thoughts to Dante, internally begging the girl to stop things from getting out of hand. Iccho Matsuo wasn't going to back down. Instead of letting bygones be bygones and going on his way, the abrasive boy doubled down on his efforts. He implied, in no uncertain terms, that Dante wasn't a real hero. It was the kind of comment that would no doubt get beneath her skin. Iccho targeted her character; something anyone looking to be a hero likely held in high esteem. Morality was paramount to anyone looking to join the profession...by will, of course. Eir was only there to avoid her father's wrath. Hayashi looked between both people. They were strong, opposing personalities looking to establish dominance over each other, like a pair of wolves vying for the spot of alpha. Letting them go at it would be disastrous; not just for Eir, who could be caught in the crossfire, but for both of them too. The staff would not look kindly on people fighting before they even started the very first day.

Eir was rarely one to speak up in this scenario. She was a timid girl that would rather stand in the shadows and hope she wasn't drawn in than the type to throw herself between two quarreling parties. However, Hayashi knew someone needed to do something. If their argument escalated into open conflict, it would be terrible for everyone! Eir turned to look at the crowds of people. All of them were there to become superheroes. If Hayashi could expect someone else to step up, it would be in a place like this. And yet no one cared. Maybe Eir overestimated the potential their talk had of becoming anything more than a petty exchange of harsh words. Or maybe nobody knew what was happening. Whatever the case, Hayashi decided to speak up. "Maybe we, um, shouldn't right now." She piped up, shuffling around to stand directly between Iccho and Dante. "This is all just a biiiiig misunderstanding, and I'm sure we can work things out without resorting to attacking people's character or getting physical." Eir silently prayed to any god that might be listening that things didn't go poorly. "Didn't Miss- excuse me. Didn't Dante already apologize? I'm sure you meant it, right? She was probably...j-just in a hurry! And I'm...positive Mister Matsuo meant no disrespect."

Temperance let out a soft sigh as he let his eyes take a quick gaze out towards the school that would eventually become commonplace for him and plenty others. Of course he had seen pictures and read articles before this fated day, but even those weren't enough to prepare him for this. Kosei Academy was truly a sight to behold. From the people walking down the sidewalks to the architecture of the buildings, Temperance could only call it 'perfection'.

Unable to hold in his excitement, the blonde let out a quiet, almost inaudible gasp. Unfortunately, this gained the attention his driver; a young woman, probably in her mid to late twenties.
"Yeah, I know. This place can be quite the eye full the first time." She said, taking a quick glance back at the boy through the mirror before focusing on the road. Embarrassed that he was actually heard, Tempest let out another sigh and scooted up his seat, placing an elbow on the shoulder of the passenger seat and flipping a few locks of his short hair with his free hand.
"Yeah...well, you know what else is quiet an eye full? Your beautiful smile..." The blonde smiled sweetly, earning a quiet, but surely audible "Awww".

Before he had a chance to strike up any more conversation with the driver, they had arrived by the front entrance of the school. Cars similar to the one he was in were dropping off other people one by one. It was clear that there was some kind of rhythm going on, so Temperance moved back into his seat, not wanting to be the odd one out.

He waited in patience. Three...two...one...now! Tempest practically hopped out of the car, giving a quick thanks to the driver before facing forward. He wasn't given much time to do anything else really, as his attention was quickly brought to what he could assume to be the staff, alerting incoming students of what was going on. So no need to worry about their luggage and such? Well that makes sense, as to be expected of Kosei Academy.

"Okay, let's find a seat up front. I don't wanna miss anything." Temperance mumbled out loud only to freeze where he was. He could already see from where he was standing, a conflict had emerged. The blonde tried to act natural as he was approaching them, while still listening on to what they were saying. From his perspective, it looked like "Long Legs" and "Mr. Blonde" had a little falling out; nothing to big. "Short Stack" almost looked like she was hiding behind Long Legs...literally. Although Tempest wasn't the type to get into other people's business, Short Stack looked really uncomfortable...and it was his job to do do something about it!

Once he was close enough Temperance coughed into a balled fist, attempting to get their attention.
"Aw, come on guys. We haven't even gotten our dorms yet. Having this lass here break it up for you two? You should be embarrassed...especially for arguing in front of a lady like that." Tempest sighed as he gave Short Stack a quick wink before looking back up at Mr. Blonde and Long Legs with his hands on his hips.

Dante couldn't help but grit and grind her teeth. She took an angry step forward, intending to close the already short gap between them. As she did she spoke on an angry, gravely tone.
"What would you know about being a hero?!?"
Mid-step, Eir moved between her and Iccho. She stopped moving forward, slightly afraid she was going to step on the, quiet girl. As Eir spoke, she just grit her teeth... of course she knew that the girl was right, but her pride just... Would not allow her to yield... Maybe that should be your first lesson then, Dante. Learning humility?
She took in a deep breatbreath in through her nose and then let it out through her mouth. As she did so she unclenched her teeth and let go of a chair she had been unconsciously gripping. As she did another blonde boy walked up, talking about how they were being dumb, and brazenly flirting with Eir. Which slightly irritated her, but she let it go.
"yeah, yeah... I got it. Thanks though."
She looked at Iccho with a softer gaze and held out her hand in a gesture of apology.
"Listen, I'm sorry for what I said... and you know..."
She grit her teeth , but then visibly relaxed herself.
"For.. accidentally bumping into you. How about we start over. I'm Dante. Nice to meet you."

Well here Iccho was...on the first day of school and being lectured by a little girl. His father would find this situation hilarious, but it Iccho was finding it difficult. However, it was not impossible. Iccho was starting to awake from his trance of anger. As that was happening, the smaller girl was winding down on here peace talk. She was completely right, there may be friendly rivalries between heroes, but it should never devolve into a fight. He really needs to self-reflect on this moment later.

Before he could respond to the Eir, another boy came up to be an outside commentator. God, if there was something that rubbed Iccho the wrong way more than what Dante just did, it is someone talking down to him. And what his he going on about a "lass" and a "lady", this guy talks like he fits into the Edo Period. Then he winked at her, Iccho no longer held any anger towards Dante, and now it is all pointed towards the outsider. He was lucky that Eir already talked him down from his previous anger, and he will be able to respond at least somewhat coherently.

However, Dante interjected, why do people start talking right before he is about to? However, what came out of her mouth was a short response to new comer, and then an apology. Wow, Iccho never thought he would actually get it, but it didn't feel as good as he thought it would be. He could feel the guilt of what he did and what he said build up inside of him. Great now he is going to have to apologize to Dante if he is ever going to get over this.

"Thanks for the apology, Dante. I am sorry too for demanding one in the first place. It's just been a tough day, and I guess I took it out on you," Iccho said sincerely. "As I already said, I am Iccho. I'm from Tsushima in the Nagasaki Prefecture. It's nice to meet you all," he said with a slight bow. Even though he was still not over the arrogance of the boy injecting himself into the conversation, Iccho decided it would be best to act cordial at least for the moment, since they were starting to make a scene.

Just as Eir put herself out there and stepped between Iccho and Dante, someone else decided to speak up. The small girl's gaze shifted toward the equally short boy that sauntered up to the group. He admonished the brash pair for locking horns as they had, taking Hayashi's side on the subject. While she was grateful for his intervention, Eir couldn't help but wish he had been there earlier. 'You couldn't have stepped in thirty seconds ago?' Hayashi wouldn't have said a word if she knew the blonde haired midget was planning to jump in. She wasn't at all comfortable with speaking up, especially when things were beginning to get tense between Dante and Iccho. Still, some help was better than no help. "Um, thank you." Eir nodded toward the as of yet unnamed boy. Her cheeks flashed red when he winked at her. 'W-was that one of those knowing winks? Or is he flirting with me?' Hayashi wondered. He...he couldn't be hitting on her, right? Boys rarely showed interest in Eir. Not only because Hayashi perpetually looked three years younger than she actually was, but because Eir considered herself about as interesting as a piece of wet tissue paper.

She put the confusing social cue out of her mind for the moment, focusing instead of the two quarreling classmates. Eir was glad to see both breaking their tough guy facades in favor of apologizing to one another for their behavior. It was a nice change of pace from the typical macho hostility Hayashi was accustomed to. Maybe Kosei Academy would prove to be better for her than her last school. Dante and Iccho took the time to reintroduce themselves, now from a more friendly stance than before. Eir decided it was probably a good time to introduce herself to the boys, too. "And I'm Eir Hayashi. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She briefly bowed, choosing to forgo the curtsy this time. Dante hadn't reacted well to the formal move; it seemed most people here weren't that used to such rigid rules of etiquette, unlike those back home. Hayashi looked between the three other people, an idea coming to mind. "Well...Since we're already acquainted, maybe we could all sit together?" Eir quietly suggested, her hands grasped behind her back. She needed familiar faces to feel comfortable. And, while the four of them were far from close friends, Hayashi would rather get to know them more than sit next to a bunch of people she didn't know at all.

It was clear to Temperance, he was getting mixed reactions for his rather rude interjection. Long Legs took the more neutral approach, letting her brief annoyance show in the tone of her voice when addressing him. Mr. Blonde, however, had a more negative reaction, which he made excruciatingly clear with his body language. But those two didn't really matter to him, as the one that had saw his intrusion as positive, was the one he meant to help out. It was insightful going to a new school with new people, since he could study and gauge how his personality went with others and where his flaws were so he could fix them; it was a great learning experience, one that he couldn't let go to waste.

The blonde couldn't help but smile when Short Stack blushed, it was definitely cute. He gave the girl a small, but encouraging, smile before putting all of his focus on the two that were now apologizing, as well as introducing themselves, to each other. Bringing his hands up to create a praying motion, Tempest nodded eagerly.
"There we are. Much better than arguing over silly business." He chimed, now clapping silently. He did stop, however, when the shorter girl introduced herself. So there was Long Legs... Miss Dante. Mr. Blonde... Mr. Iccho. And Short Stake... Lady Eir. "Oh yes, very fine names indeed. Although I don't feel I've earned the right to introduce myself to you three...my name is Temperance Wilk. Please, just call me Tempest." He spoke up, his last sentence ending in a much more casual way than expected, even from him. "Meeting on such tense ground might have been...rude, but I do hope we could get along in the near future, Mr. Iccho and Miss Dante." This time, Tempest ended with closed eyes and a faint bow. He had no reason to include Eir in that statement, since he would already see them going quite far together... At least he should try to get to know the other two...despite how hotheaded they both seemed...

At the sound of Eir's suggestion, Temperance immediately perked up, raising a hand just as quickly.
"That sounds delightful! Would it be alright if I sat next to you, Lady Eir? Or would you prefer Eir?" Tempearance's attempt to split his attention among the three failed as soon as he thought of it.

Dante let out a sigh of relief when he also apologised for his behavior. For a moment she was afraid he was going to keep the argument going. She smiled at him, the. Turned her attention to Die and the new boy, who shortly introduced himself as Tempest. She also noted how he referred to Eir as 'lady Eir'. She didn't know if this was another flirting attempt or something else, but she wasn't sure of the guy's intentions. Dante honestly couldn't help it, but she felt a strong sense of protection about Sit. They had litteraly only just met, but Wit reminded her of some of her friends back home. The familiarity was very welcome on the foreign environment.
"I agree. Let's sit together. It'll give us a chance to get to know each other more."
She turned to Iccho.
"And it'll give me a chance to redeem myself for being such an a-... ahem, for being so rude "
She quickly moved the short distance to the seats and sat four chairs in, leaving space for the other three to sit.

Jefferson St. John

Location: Front Gate
Interacting with: Dante @Araby264, Temperance @Tenma Tendo, Eir @Superboy, Iccho @yahoo3422

Stepping out of the car, Jefferson St. John stretched his legs, grinning as he breathed in the fresh ocean air. It had taken months of effort, thirty applications, and around twenty hours of travel, but he had finally arrived at Kosei Academy. The air was clean, the forest was dense, the lake was beautiful, and he was going to have a grand old time.

He smiled to himself as he went to hoist his duffel, only to realize that it had already been taken away. Apparently there were porters for the school. Porters! God, this was exciting. Still, hopefully he would be able to understand more than he had so far. The driver had rattled off like a machine gun the entire way from Mustafa to the school, and all that the student had managed to pick up was something about bad fishing in the lake and to steer clear of the forest. Strange dialect, local probably. There was also a short mention that tipping the driver was customary, but Jeff took that one as a joke.

Regardless, he had just become a small fish in a big pond, and hell if he wasn’t going to make a good impression. Someone was speaking loudly over the crowd, but he didn’t pay it much mind. As it was, he was busy being bludgeoned by the hundreds of students around him, scanning the flow of bodies to figure out where he was supposed to go.For a moment, he was thrown. He spotted several shocks of blonde hair facing away from him and headed over. It made sense that there would be other transfer students. Hell, one could even be from the States! Wouldn’t that be funny, two Americans in a Japanese academy. He approached with a broad grin on his face, loud English booming when he got close. “Hey, you guys from around here?”

As he drew close, he saw there was a third with them, a small girl with pink hair. He cocked an eyebrow and tilted his head just a bit. He honestly couldn't tell if she was Japanese or not, so he decided to play it safe with his language choices and prayed for his accent to be less pronounced. She honestly looked... a little terrified. Maybe could use a confidence boost. "I like the hair."

Iccho was glad that the anger had died down and now everyone had started introducing themselves. The small girl was named Eir and she wanted to sit together. That might not be a bad idea, even though they might have gotten off on the wrong foot; this is the only group of people that Iccho knew at Kosei. This group seemed to at least interacting on friendly tones now. After Eir introduced herself, it was Tempest. Who even talks like this anymore? Iccho wondered if Tempest's quirk was time travel and he just forgot how to talk in today's vernacular. He also seemed very interested in Eir, calling her lady. He really is doubling down on that super formal approach to talking to woman, guess chivalry really isn't dead thanks to this guy.

Dante agreed with Eir and took as seat, while she wanted to redeem herself for her prior behavior. Iccho could not be happier about this proposition. He wanted to make up for the way he acted before and it is good that Dante was in favor of making peace. "Are you guys gonna join us?" as Iccho looked up at the two still standing. "So Dante, where are you from?"

Before he could get a response, a strange boy came up and then spoke it what seemed like tongues to Iccho. He had picked up some Korean at home when they interacted with Korean fishing ships, but he had no idea what this boy just said. He just blinked at the boy a few times before the stranger transitioned to Japanese to compliment Eir's hair. Why are all these guys talking to Eir? Was Iccho the weird one here? Should he start talking to Eir? Iccho couldn't think about that too much, but rather transitioned back to the guy that just walked up to the group.

"Sorry, I didn't quite understand what you said. I'm going to guess you're not from around here. Well neither am I, looks like we have something in common," Iccho was trying hard to act friendlier than he was before. He needed to improve on his people skills, especially since his first interaction here was almost getting in a fight. "My name is Iccho Matsui. It is nice to meet you."

Everyone had accepted her suggestion that the four of them sit together. Eir was glad; she wouldn't need to get to know anyone else if she stuck with the same small group. Establishing a tight knit group of friends had been Hayashi's first personal goal at the Academy. While Eir certainly enjoyed being alone, she was keenly aware that she couldn't do everything on her own. She had many weaknesses that, hopefully, her new acquaintances good make up for. 'So long as Iccho and Dante don't tear each other apart.' The two of them were making an effort to talk to one another, and make up for their earlier clash. Eir was just a little bit proud of herself for being one of the reasons they had set their differences aside to talk. A slight smile etched across her face, Hayashi watched the others begin to move toward the rows of chairs to sit together.

Temperance Wilk, or simply Tempest as he apparently preferred, turned his attention to Eir. She still wasn't quite sure what to think of the boy. He was very nice and quite cordial, something the other two could learn a thing or two about from Tempest. The well spoken teen asked if he could sit beside Hayashi. She was taken aback by the forward request. Even if Mr. Wilk wasn't attempting to flirt with the pink haired, he was making a concentrated effort to interact with her. Hayashi was, on one hand, flattered by the amount of attention she was getting and on the other worried she would screw things up and look like a weirdo. "A-alright." She agreed to sit next to Tempest. There was also the issue of how...formal he was being. 'Lady' wasn't a prefix anyone had ever used to speak to Hayashi. That kind of talk was left for the nobility of old, and for the few remaining monarchies in the world. Eir would be lying if she said she wasn't flattered. "Um, just Eir's fine." Hayashi giggled, her smile broadening. Naive to the boy's intentions, she started to follow him over toward the seats he'd chosen, where Dante and Iccho were already getting comfortable.

Before Eir was even half way to the seat, she heard an alien accent calling out into the crowd in different language. She picked up on it almost immediately. 'English?' Hayashi was familiar with the tongue. Her home town frequently has tourists from America and Europe. There was a point where her mother's store was getting customers who didn't speak Japanese every day for almost a month. Communication was difficult, making sales near impossible. Eir's father decided she should do something about it, so Teruo ordered her to pick up English classes at school. Hayashi had taken four years of English classes back to back, studying hard so she could act as an interpreter for the tourists that came to the shop. It paid off, with Eir capable of...conversational English. The short girl turned around, searching for the source of the voice. Her eyes fell on the bright skinned man- or, boy, if he was a student. He must've noticed she was paying attention to him, because he looked right at her and spoke. His Japanese was rusty to say the least, but Eir caught on. He...complimented her hair. 'Why is everyone paying so much attention to me?' She internally moaned. Attention was the last thing she wanted. "Thank you." Eir responded. "Are you from America?" Eir swapped from Japanese to English, her attempt at his native tongue rusty but still quite clear and understandable.

"O-oh. Where are my manners. I'm Eir Hayashi, it is nice to meet you." She continued in surprisingly clean English, bowing toward the outsider. Eir had spoken more just minutes after getting to the Academy than she had the last month. It made her anxious and uncomfortable to get out of her shell like this. However, far be it for Eir to be rude to someone.

"Eir it is then." Temperance smiled as well before his attention was brought over to Iccho, who was already sitting down with Dante. Oh yeah...these two also exist. Maybe it was because they weren't arguing with each other anymore, but they seemed a lot more approachable now. It probably had to do with them now being below eye level for him...

"Of course we will be. Come along now, Eir." Tempest spoke, trying hs best to refrain from grabbing the dual haired girl's hand. Judging by the earlier arguement, she had to a little shy. So instead, the blonde motioned to the chairs right next to Iccho. He opted taking the seat furtherest to the end of the group so that Eir wouldn't feel left out in anyway.

Just as the girl was about to take her seat, however, a sound he wasn't quite expecting reached his ears, making him jump a little. It was obvious that the noise was English and coming from a fluent English speaker, but just because Tempest knew, it didn't mean that he understood what he was saying.
"I-I'm sorry?" The boy stuttered, as he brought his emerald gaze to yet another tall boy; was it just him that was short, or was everyone else just freakishly tall? His hair was an interesting shade of blue, one that he couldn't tell was natural of not. But instead of questioning it, Tempest looked back at Eir, who also was speaking English. The blonde's eyes lit up happily, clearly impressed with what he was seeing.

While taking his seat, Temperance waved at the blue haired man and followed after Eir, hearing her name within the other language.
"Temperance Wilk. Tempest." Of course, he would have said more, but he was a little afraid that the other wouldn't understand him or something.

KOSEI ACADEMY - OPENING CEREMONIES
@Araby264 @yahoo3422 @Superboy @Tenma Tendo @Tominas

All in all, it only took around an hour before the entire group had arrived and found their seats. The speeches began shortly thereafter and for the most part went largely ignored. Many students were too distracted with their new setting to really listen while others had already heard the same speeches time and again and had long since learned how to tune them out. There wasn't anything that any of them could say that could out weigh the effect the arrival had on them.

Their words felt hollow next to the reality of the school before them and the artificial island they were now on. One of the faculty drew some notice but for most of the wrong reasons. Though she smiled and welcome them to the school, the Vice Principal's eyes were anything but warm and if anything seemed to imply that she was wholly unimpressed with the students that had shown up. She went on a quick rundown of some of the rules which for the most part were par for the course but with a few exceptions. Most notable was the mention of being disallowed from venturing too far from the academy without escort and the brief explanation regarding point and ranking system they wish to implement. She also made a quick comment about defenestrations being prohibited above the third story. It wasn't long before she was excusing herself and welcoming the next and final speaker, Principal Arata Sako.

"Aha. I recognize that look. Don't worry we're about done." The speaker winked conspiratorially at them from up behind his podium while his face twisted into a wry smile.

Arata Sako was hard to place. He wasn't old but he was clearly past his youth. He wasn't dirty or slovenly but at the same time he was neither clean or or well kept. Jasper was far from ugly but he was just shy of being called handsome. There was a down to earth quality to him that seemed so out of place in the setting. He was a man apart from the rest of it all and it didn't seem to bother him in the least.

"My name, as many of you may know, is Arata Sako. And this, is my school. You are all here because you're different than everyone else. Special is a word that gets thrown around a lot but I want you to know that in this instance, I mean it. You are unique. There exists within you that unidentifiable quality that drives you forward that others lack and here we're going to hone that aspect of yourselves into something more. Now, I know you all have your own reasons for coming here, but whatever your purpose, I hope you'll come to enjoy this school as much as I do."

"Well...that's all I wanted to say. So how about we just call it a day and let you see what this school's all about for yourselves?" The gates that had been sealed behind him began to swing inward invitingly."Explore the campus, meet the faculty, or find a quiet place to do nothing at all. The day is yours. Make of it what you will."

OOC: Alright then, feel free to do whatever you please. Its time for some cooperative world building since I also want the participants to have some contributions to the setting you're all going to be RPing in. Describe or create scenarios, locations, and NPCs if you wish, but make them a bit vague to allow me to alter them as needed to fit the whole setting we have. You can start breaking off into group or going solo; I'll be updating accordingly.

And before I forget, here's some information regarding the aforementioned Rankings and Points.
