It's a quick but ugly trade-off I made to fit the checkbox into the grid layout without having to rewrite the layout.

Unfortunately, UI development is the slowest part of the Guild, so I try to aim for "meh, good enough" for the sake of getting anything done.

The Guild would probably be able to keep a UI developer busy full-time for years.

Would it be possible to have archived or no-notification subs on the same page as normal subs? For example, if an RP has a lot of OOC chatter, I don't necessarily want a notification every few minutes, but I still want to be involved IC.

@Mahz Can there please be a way to turn off notifications for something you're subscribed to without archiving it? I just, don't want these kinds of notifications at all. So, that kinda puts me in a situation where everything is now either annoying or archived- and then I have to go to a different tab to see all my stuff.

I suppose Archiving is nice for all the dead RPs I'm still subscribed to (because they were awesome) but for all those I'm active in this is a little bit of a hassle.

The new subscription features look nice so far, @Mahz. Sure, they still need a few of the planned features, but they're planned, so it is a good start.

I was wondering, with the RP Tags, if there was a way to work in a GM tag? Like for an RP to be tagged by the GM name or something where people could easily search for RP's hosted by a specific Gm. Or even a tab that could be added to their profile page that shows topics they have started in the RP sections, divided up by Interest Checks and RP's. Would make it easier for people who enjoy certain Gm's to see quickly if they are hosting something new.

That and perhaps a ~enter tag name~ tag, where you type in your own tag. In case your Rp has something about it that isn't as common and needed for a "full time tag" but would be useful for describing the RP.

@Ellri Yeah, anything would be great. I mean finding new Gm's is always awesome but sometimes you just find one you click with and are comfortable with. Would be easier to keep up with their new endeavors.

Also, the new roleplay search thing... could you add the middle pagination things? right now it has only got "next page" "first page" no page count or anything.

i know it's probably really late, but maybe with the whole rp roster thing, it could become an extra tab next to ic, ooc, and char? it's just that the new features are great and all, but what really drew me to the guild was the organising that kept everything simple and separated, yet in the same page. it's a lot better than other rp sites, where you have to craete separate threads for ooc, ic, and character sheets and the like. then that roster tab could only be viewed by gms and co-gms, and maybe they could actually assign the character sheet post in the character tab to the player that posted it.

for example:

the bit about naming it (as each RP might have its own use for it) is simpler. It could be renamable, but still be filed as the same thing in the system, where the label is simply a label, rather than hard-coded into the URL.

i don't think it'd necessarily require its' own spot on the subscriptions page imo.

also, another idea: just to make mahz's coding life even more hell, it could add a little extra options when making a post in the character tab. ooc and ic posts would remain the same, but perhaps when posting things into char tabs, you could have a box to input the character's name (editable by the gm just incase someone tried to fuck around and name it something like "penis"), and a checkbox for gm and co-gm character tab posts so they can uncheck something that says "is this a character?". that would avoid the standard things like the top post containing a character sheet skeleton showing up in the roster tab.

Suggestion - Instead of the bell at the top of the page being for total notifications let it be for tags/quotes/upvotes only. We get a notification for Pm's and we get one for subs, no need to have the total be the bell plus the rest. I dunno, just something about having it be a total plus things not covered under Pm's and Subs seems a little disorganized.

So say, we have 3 Pm's, 4 Subscribed topics posted in, and 1 tag - instead of the bell reading 8 total, it would just read 1. If that makes sense.

Is it possible to change the Notifications to what it was before without Archiving our Subscriptions? As it is, it gets pretty irritating to constantly see notifications about update that has nothing to do with you. I would much rather be able to make it so I only get notifications if someone is mentioning me specifically.

@kapuchu It is not possible yet, but it is planned to make it so that you can choose the notification level of subscriptions.

Would no work with any non-standard use of the tab (even something as simple as multiple characters), or even just character profiles that are too long (this far has only occurred with one of mine, really).
Also bad idea to make arbitrary bits editable by others, even the GM.
