So just wanna put this out here. I will have owner ship over a massive desert that is located in the middle of the continent and takes a good chunk of it. It is compromised of 2 layers of defenses. 5 citadels on the outskirt, 3 on the inner region and the main one, the castle of the city is located at the very center. The 3 citadels on the inner region are all connected to the main castle with multiple underground routes which expand to open underground areas where different trade and what not is performed. The castle itself is mostly located underground. And to pass from one side of the desert to the next, the fastest way is to pass right through the dessert. Passing around it would increase the travel time exponentially.

I swear I will not abuse this monopoly of the main road and you are all free to pah..ahem..pass without over charged fees and -oh boy.

But seriously now, it just seems aesthetically pleasing to me to have this desert and the citadels. No ulterior motives on gaining the upper hand. This isn't even a NRP.

@Bishop

It is a political RP. It's sort of like if a NRP, romance, fantasy and political pot all got together and decided to give, motherfucking play with polyamory. But the change of powers is done via intrique, marriage and all that moss and mold. Kindred.

It's not like. An insane boon. The only, motherfucking. deal is that the land mass is distant from the main kingdom. Like, no big deal. Just it gives the capital a wide berth. So like..it makes sense lore wise for the king not to just order it open so capital trade is easier.

but shit. Yeah, you can have that. Show what sort of society lives inside it when its on your sheet, brother. I'm curious.

Registration of Current Nobles

The Name of the Noble:
Cheick Bosanda

The House of which said noble belongs: House Bosanda

Current Age of said Noble: 26

House History: Tradition holds that House Bosanda is the oldest of the 10 Houses, and this may well be true. Long, long ago, the diverse and squabbling clans of Handon's eastern savannah were united under the rule of a line of priest-kings, terrible in war yet generous in friendship, and wise in the ways of that land's Four Gods - the Lion, the Spider, the Eel, and the Stork. These priest kings were the early Bosanda, and their people were and are fanatically loyal to them; only a Bosanda will ever truly rule their lands.

When the ten houses united, House Bosanda threw their support behind the new kingdom unconditionally; they pride themselves on being a generous ally and a staunch protector to the king and the other houses. Though peace and prosperity reign in Handon, the armies of House Bosanda have not forgotten their history as warriors and conquerors, and remain ever vigilant for a threat to the peace of the realm.

For time immemorial, leadership in House Bosanda has passed from father to eldest son in an unbroken line of lords. Traditionally, the Lord of House Bosanda serves three roles - the first is as a military leader, for every son of Bosanda is trained in the arts of war from the moment they are able to grip a weapon, and the old Bosanda were said to always lead from the front (though in recent days, this role has fallen to less prominence). Second is as religious leader, for the lord of House Bosanda is said to have the greatest connection to the Four Gods, and the old faith remains strong among the people of the east. He is expected to provide the blessings of the gods to any of his vassals who seek him out, and is an important figure in many holidays and religious occurrences. Finally, he serves as representative of his people and peer of the other lords of the realm, for Bosanda's connection to the other houses is strong, as it always was.

The banner of House Bosanda is simple - red and yellow, the colors of the Savannah sunset, with a stiff stripe to indicate their military prowess. The image of the Lion represents the god that the house associates itself with most closely, for their ferocity and courage. Rather rarely, it is considered a minor religious infraction to paint this symbol on anything but a shield, making it a 'banner' in name only; for House Bosanda believes themselves to be the aegis of the realm, and has no patience for silken things.

Lands and Ownership: The Eastern Savannah - a large expanse of plains on the southeastern coast of Handon. There are a variety of small villages and towns that swear fealty to Bosanda, though the jewel of the Savannah is the walled city of Konsak, also known as 'The Glass City'. This is the largest settlement in the Savannah, and the traditional seat of House Bosana. Most of their people are farmers or fishermen, though they boast a larger-than-average army of elite warriors, and the skill and art of Konsak's smiths and glass-blowers are well-known throughout the kingdom.

Autobiographical Knowledge: Cheick is the eldest son of the current Lord Bosanda, and he has been groomed for leadership his entire life. Ever the dutiful son, he studied the teachings of the Four Gods, practiced his skill at arms and sat through lesson after lesson about history and courtly tradition from a young age, as all eldest sons have before him. He is well beloved by his people, though his stoicism and silence are a stark contrast to his father's boisterous good humor.

Cheick has two siblings, a sister and a brother. His elder sister Aya is a powerful sorceress, believed by her parents to have been blessed by the wisdom of the Spider from a young age - the two are very close, and she is his most trusted confidant. He is more distant with his younger brother Ajak, a frail and sickly young man who was never quite up to the rigorous expectations of his household, and reacted to this difficulty via resentment of his prodigal brother. His father is an old man; though in his childhood Cheick knew him hardly at all, so busy was he with the Lord's duties, the two have become increasingly close as Cheick prepares to accept his father's responsibilities, though his father has not given up encouraging him to smile more and sing louder. "You have the strength of the Lion, and the Spider's wisdom, my son," he is so fond of saying, "But the Eel and the Stork are mysteries to you."

As to whether he has any ambitions in his life aside from serving in the office he is destined to, the answer is simple; he has never been allowed to, and he knows this. His role has always been clear; the solemn son, the warrior prince, raised in a land of beating sun in a City of Glass, friend to the people of the kingdom and peer to the great houses. Outwardly, this is his only identity, yet in private moments he admits to himself an abiding loneliness; for though the Lord of Bosanda must always be available to his people, he has never truly known a companion, someone he may be at peace with.

I'm really digging these gems you all up melting about. But I ain't approving sheets until a bit of time has passed for everyone-including any new interest- get a chance to post sheets themselves. Then I'll start moving your marriage materials into the old gallery of goods.

@Sisyphus

I'm digging your lions of the land, my eroder of the earth. but one motherfucking. thing. it's Handon, not Hanlon. I mean. Hanlon sounds cooler to be honest but if I change it now shit will get confusing.

My bad. I think I made the typo once and then kept cross-referencing the spelling with the typo. It has been fixed, my most slamming of poets.

We might need some more mammary gland merchants in this RP. A balanced, motherfucking. number ain't needed but a big theme is marriage and power.

I ain't gonna force shit because the RP can still function with a large amount of competing kings, but just throwing this out there, my kindred of they keyboards. That, there will be only one winner and marriage with another house can aid you greatly in trying to get noble support for a king spot or, give your house a comfortable alliance/position to fall back on if you lose.

This is a big shuffle of who's on top and who's on bottom for everyone with this event.

@SisyphusCheik and Llewelyn are going to be best bros.

Snake=Spider

Goat=Eel

Lion=...Lion

They'll bond over useless animal trait comparisons while crying over the lack of Stork in their lives.

The Name of the Noble:
Lady Anastasia 'Ana' Kovalenko the Unwed, Keeper of the Flames and Lawbringer

The House of which said noble belongs: House Kovalenko
[/i]

Current Age of said Noble: 26

House History: There are two things House Kovalenko is known for. Being adept pyromancers, and being the first house, in ages long past, to civilise the once barbaric southern territories and settle it for themselves and the good of the kingdom. These two traits are reflected in the titles given to the current patriarch or matriarch, all of whom gain the titles 'Keeper of the Flames,' and 'Lawbringer,' upon coming to power.

Kovalenko is an often secluded house however, and tend not to busy themselves with politics. The south, being both mountainous and quite arid, still holds all manner of bandits and other beasts. Quashing these 'characters' is a matter that house Kovalenko takes no small pride in, viewing themselves as the wall that guards the rest of the kingdom against attack.

Lands and Ownership: Huge swathes of the south lands. Kovalenko is the, hands down, largest house in terms of territory owned, but much of it is desert unfit for human habitation. Most of the land that is fit is farmland, although there is also an unusually large amount of magical academies in order to train the unusually high number of pyromancers the land produces.

Autobiographical Knowledge: Lady Anastasia was born and raised to become keeper of the flame, being the eldest daughter, and indeed child, of her parents. In Kovalenko, when one parent dies, their child rules alongside the other parent, until such time as the child marries, upon which the remaining parent (or sibling, should the parent die,) steps down, in order for the new lord and lady to rule.

This means that all Kovalenko children must be taught the values of leadership and how to conduct themselves at an early age, which Anastasia took to well, being an animated, if a little impatient, learner, something which has tempered with age. She, like many other Kovalenko lords, including both of her parents, showed an aptitude for fire magic, and she was trained in that too, from as soon as she was deemed able to.

Portrait: Lady Anastasia, or if you're one of her few friends, Ana, is a tall woman of about six foot, with long golden hair kept tied back in a complicated and ornate hairstyle that only the nobles can really afford to have. Unlike the vast majority of the peasantry, she has pale skin, almost alabaster, although her hands are covered in numerous scars, which she covers up with gloves no matter what company she is in. Her eyes are a greyish blue, albeit more grey than blue, and she speaks in a particularly strong accent.

@Lady Selune I am constantly thinking on how my house would interact with others. So maybe we have some petty squabble on who was the first house? The Bastij claim it was theirs and Kovalenko claim they were the first. But aside this historical inconsistency house Bastij respects house Kovalenko as they know and acknowledge that your house was one of the founding houses.
