@Bishop

Give the outer ring of your people a strong merchant culture of wagons and land. It seems natural that, being so land based and isolated that, having a strong lower community of traders is becoming a must. This also let's you kink out the details, because if you got a buttload of merchants moving in and out with private industry. You can just say that, a private organisation moves goods in and out voluntarly out of @Sisyphus shores.

Then, you can focus on your idea originally of having a strong tax economy. Because it fits. Also justifies where you get alot of your current money from besides just looting.

TL/DR: capitalism.
@Silverink

I'll draw a map when all the nations are set. Right now, it's still mold.

But, my sister. You got hope, because, I'm you're, motherfucking, herald of the hereafter.

Basically: the original post that will go up either tomorrow-or the day after- will be a month before Merin's 99th birthday. At this point you can all have posts of you dealing with family. Fucking with the farmers, visiting each other and all that shambles.

People can post sheets durring this point.

I will put up a count down of the start, in which Merin's announcement will have happened, the one in the very first post OOC. This will be the point in which you are all attending the House Union ball-you called it, my crystal clue cleaver- and from here on your nobles will be living at the main castle for a little while.

This will be a big part of you meeting, greeting, getting harrassed by family to find a fuck fondler, and forming relations. This is a prelude to the tour. Each of you will be systematically moved from land to land to RP and towards the end of that single land tour you, who can be be king, will make a speech to the people.

This cycle will repeat.

The people votes is worth it, but the nobles vote carries a lot of clout-sometimes, even more than the people-

voting powers is determined by 3 things: populace, influence, assets. This is so voting power remains balanced despite land differences..although..you will still have roughly different lands stats. Don't worry about the stats. They're all hidden and just a way of me judging who votes, how, what..ectr towards the end.

At the end of the tour. Those are counted up by me, you return to Handon. One last ball happens and king is declared.

Oh, a question while the subject of map-making is on the table. @Viciousmarrow, is your house on the border to Grey Valley, the little strip of land that connects to Geriang? I only ask because that would make sense, since (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think anyone's claimed the border to Geriang yet, and the term 'marches' applied geographically essentially means 'borderland', or the part of the kingdom that neighbors another kingdom. Just found that out today when I googled it.

Fun fact, that would also make the lord of your house a Marquis. The more you know!

Sounds like quite the plan. I assume the RP won't end even after King is chosen..I imagine..a few interesting events could happen.

Question: would it be possible for a candidate to, later down the line, withdraw their candidacy and throw their support behind another house? I'm not asking because I plan to do that, necessarily, I just think it would be a cool option / dynamic later in the RP.

Yes, you could. But naturally your house will probably be pretty red and rude, if you catch my cold, my Terra tugging trooper.

Not including, your motherfucking, populace reaction.

Well, comrade of the code. It's a motherfucking. possibility that's for sure. Mostly now, though the route is all the way to the throne. Then an epilogue of the king rule and how the house change/rise/fall based on all the marrital madness and shifts going on.

Just to paint a clear picture for my persona's who might not, mtoherfucking. manage to marage the system for voting in their heads. I'm gonna lay one down here.

Lesser House Leffen's: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ASSETS : INFLUENCE: POPULATION: POP Traits: Cautious/ Mercantile/ Isolationist
1 1 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assets: A small amount of farm land. A single barracks. A small manor.
Influence: Are established nobles. Have no recognize authority. Aren't known for anything. No religion.

CHARACTER 1: CHARACTER 2

1 Make a speech appealing to pop. The speech is good so they buy it. They vote for char 1.

2: tries to win the house itself. The House overall power is only 2.

Char 1 wins this round by number.

Now. I will be adding 1 point. Just 1. If the dialogue is especially good, incharacter and convincing.

and another 1 if the overall post itself is written well but I won't hand those out easily.

This is just an example of what I'm doing behind the scenes to judge voting winners at the end. Just so you kindred know I ain't arbitrarily picking someone.

House families decide who they vote for, not the characters in this game. They just are put forward for kinhship, to marry other houses and play the marriage game. The house itself and its beliefs vote in this system.

OOC RULES

Min post are expected to be 2 paragraphs with a max being 5. I am mostly relying on player judgement for this. So, don't expect me to become a grip on your post amount but if it consistently too long or too short, I may warn you.

So now that the RP is going to start soon, I wanted to bring up a concern I've had. A 5 paragraph maximum for posts is a bit restricting and vague, even if I understand the general idea of not wanting your roleplayers to ramble on for 12+ pages every post.

We're going to have to include speeches, negotiations with NPCs and other players, internal conflicts, and writing out physical actions, sometimes all in the same post.

Could we maybe get that limit extended some, and clarified to a character count for the post? Since we have a handy dandy character counter right in the bottom left, and we don't have to worry about if the paragraphs we're writing qualify as 1 or 2 if they tend towards the long side. @ScreenAcne

I made it a hard line mark to begin with because I wasn't sure what kind of writers would sign up. But you kindred, all seem pretty sensible. So, yeah. I'll remove that.

The post amount is contextual sensitive:

Standard Posts: are things like "My character goes over to the dinner table. He looks at the charming, enchantress in her golden eyes as he passes" Now, I don't want to put on red on anyone wedding dress here, kindred. But I've seen all sorts of wizards with pens be great at putting smoke and powder onto this digital chowder..but pads it harder than a Japanese shrine.

This ^ is mostly where the 2 min to 5 paragraphs applied most, but. you know. It's a long ass suggestive guide line to put in a OOC.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Scenic posts: describing your house.

Intro Posts: naturally being cinematic or taking an approach to introduce you or a person.

Threatric: When two characters are actually interacting and something is being added. You know, drama. Depth. Convo. Fights. That kind of stuff.

Story Important: This is stuff pertinent to the entire rp such as speeches, marriages, political talk say..between a father and another about a set up marriage. This stuff forwards not just one story, but ALL of the character stories inadvertently.

All of those. I trust you to keep their length sensible and focus on overall pertinent details-character growth, lore, rp itself ectr- but you can pretty type as most as you like...but if you're nearing say double digit paragraphs it might be an idea to cut it down a little.

There is no specific character max.

Basically. I'm trusting you guys judgement more or less.

I dig this diamond, brother. I like how you are referencing my rough raps into this royale. Even using the slang paper kings.

My only, motherfucking. moan about this marvel is 3 things:

I'd like to see just a little bit more hint towards the dangers of training for magic in the culture. Not alot, even if it just the effect of such high hazard rates in the families and populace in a line or two. You did a bit of this towards your character which is a good start.

In future. Slimming its fat away a little would improve this sheet. It's good conceptually and in lore references, it just a little fat.

Over use of the word sorcerer. I know, that's like, they're name and all that title, but breaking it up even just a little helps the writing stay fresh and keep track of where I was reading.

But those are like, sheet, writing, motherfucking. shit.

I'm ready to accept this if you just solve the first one alone.

Shit, this gallery of ghouls and good guys is, motherfucking, a pretty good turn out. Normally my RP gets less traffic than a pork free barbecue in the outback of Texas.

The prologue post will be up tonight. I'll be handling any sheets I still need to do before that though. If you know a brother or sister that might like to be in this twister of misters, they can still post a sheet to join. But once the prologue is done submissions are closed.
