hmm, well since i have till the end of the weekend i think i will spend a bit more time on my character, editing or even changing things if i think it's needed. The one i have up is a pretty rushed version. I'll keep the dark element.
Fiery red hair, green eyes and immaculate white skin, Fia is a girl who has quite the presence, especially due to her attire of choice: Half plate armor with a red combat skirt and a long leather glove to protect her arms. Her old and knightly look is very common amongst the members of the Rozenkreutz order. Her body, well trained and developed for her age sports some scars here and there, result of her tough training.
PERSONALITY
Virtuous, polite and honorable, she was raised amongst knights and knightess. Although she loves to talk and is generally a kind and caring girl, she will try to act as "knightly" as possible, although, due to her age, she is prone to act out of impulse and emotion sometimes. Fia is not "girly", although she cares about her appearance, she does it only to maintain the proper looks that a member of the order is expected to have.
ABILITIES
Marksmanship: Trained as an combat archer, she is very flexible with her bow, being able to take far away shots with the same ease than hitting a target while jumping and avoiding its blows.
Armored agility: A half plate armor normally would hinder down many people, but Fia is able to move with it easily, without impacting her mobility at all, including being able to perform jumps and acrobatics with it.
Unwavering Focus: Fia can keep focused on her target even under the most stressful situations.
ELEMENT
Electricity
POWERS
Void Barrier: Electricity
Move with the thunder: "Overloads" her body by sending electric pulses through it. Heightens her reaction time, strength and speed.
Conjure Elemental Arrows: Conjures a ring of arrows floating above her head. These arrows are have both a physical and an energy aspect, inflicting normal, piercing damage that a normal arrow would and elemental damage as well (electric).
What makes this bow so unique is that its string is made with pure magical energy coming from the wielder. Normal arrows shot with this bow are augmented by raw magic energy and the user's elemental energy. Arrows shot by this bow are way faster than normal ones and carry the energy of wind with them. The user of this bow can choose from 3 different augmentations to its arrows: 1-Spiral Arrow: Imbued with electricity, this arrow spins through the air with an impossible speed, letting behind a spiraled trail of electricity where it passes. Its able to pierce almost anything. 2-Burst: Sends an arrow flying at normal speed. This arrow is completely surrounded by electricity, making a characteristic sound as it flies. When it gets near its target, it explodes with electric energy. 3-Lightning Storm: One arrow divides itself in 5 different arrows, bouncing through the air with an unpredictable pattern.
HISTORY
With the Rift Wars and the discovery of magic powers, a number of different organizations realized that the power of magic was undeniable. And it would be better to use it for their own purposes than try to eliminate it and destroy it. That is how the Rozenkreuz order was created. Differently from the traditional church, that saw the magic and these powers as unnatural things, things that no man should be able to wield, the Rozenkreuz order thought that both scientific and religious enlightening was only attainable by mastering magic.
The Rozenkreuz Order was formed with two principal objectives in mind: research, understand, develop magic and be the "limiter" of magic in the world. They decided that if the humanity were allowed to freely tamper with magic, they would make weapons strong enough to destroy the world itself, and as such, they needed to be controlled. The Rozenkreuz order quickly became known as "magic inquisitors". Using antique armors, swords, spears and bows instead of modern weapons, they hunted those who used dangerous magic that was capable of interfering with the natural order.
Fia Rozenkreuz is the youngest member of the Rozenkreuz order, and one of the most promising ones. Trained since she was little in the use of the bow, she is a force to be reckoned with. Together with Erin, a lightning elemental creature summoned by her, she was the one chosen by the Rozenkreuz to go to the Aether Bridge academy to further develop her skills and to learn more about the world, since she has never left the Rozenkreuz order temple since she was born.
SUMMON
Erin
APPEARANCE
SUMMONING MANTRA
Si vis pacem para bellum.
ABILITIES
Erin is quick, unpredictable and lethal. Be it with her bladed ring or with her legs, she moves and strikes as a lightning. Her bladed ring can be either used as a melee weapon or be thrown (after throwing it, the ring will come back to her hand). All her attacks are naturally imbued with lightning.
ELEMENT
Electricity
ELEMENT GIFT
Erin's combat style include throwing her ring on the air as she jump and attack. This ring will always have its hole facing a target. If Fia shoots an arrow through the ring, it will be empowered with lightning, boosting even further the arrow. If the arrow shot was a Spiral Arrow, it will stop for a brief second, still spinning and then go straight to its target, even faster than before with a spear of lightning around it. If the arrow shot was a Burst Arrow, it will stop inside the ring, the arrow itself will be disintegrated and a big ray of lightning as wide as the ring itself will be fired after a brief delay. If the arrow shot was a Storm arrow, the arrows will bounce until they strike the target, but instead of stopping when they hit a target, they will pierce it and turn back, hitting the target once again.
ABOUT
Erin Is very agitated, but not as much as other lightning elementals. She fights fiercely and with dedication. Outside of combat, she loves to play and talk to others. Always moving herself, she is never completely quiet. Be it either dangling her legs, playing with her bladed ring or simply jumping around, she is a very lively and agitated creature. She is unable to pay attention in one thing for too long, requiring a rather considerate effort of its summoner to keep her attention on it for too long.
By "second speed-based character", I was saying that i had already created a character with supernatural speed and reflexes before, and Aria was being sort of modeled after him. That character was meant to be in the Expanding Horizons RP.
But who knows? They might actually be related to each other after all. It's a small, small world...
@Apollosarcher Aaaaaand it's finished! I really hope you approve of the character. I'm really excited to begin roleplaying, and I'd be fine with buffing or debuffing the character if you want me to.
Aria Coleman
The Quick and Dandy Maiden
Age: 14
Appearance: The topmost picture depicts her face accurately. Her height is that of an average 14-year old. She usually wears a sweater like this:
Personality: Aria is a quick thinker and doer. She does everything quickly and precisely.
Other than that, she is comparable to a hyperactive munchkin with a cold, and she talks more quickly than Scatman John can rap in the chorus of any of his greatest hits. She moves rarely, but when she does, she runs at the speed that Usain Bolt would run at if he was being chased by a hungry Rottweiler.
And mind you, she was just rushing to the cafeteria to make sure that the vendors wouldn't run out of shawarma.
She is also somewhat touchy and emotional. No need to elaborate on that. She likes cute animals and chocolate chip cookies.
Non-Battle Abilities
She is fond of playing the piano. Doing so somehow makes her get constant flashbacks and feel emotional. She is also good at cooking.
Element: Lightning
THE STORY SO FAR...
Aria was abandoned as a baby, and left at the door of the local orphanage. She was raised there, and sent to school by the caretakers. She was named by one of the caretakers, who called himself Mr. Coleman
Her life took a turn for the unpredictable once she saw a glowing stone tablet in the nearby forest. Out of curiosity, she took the tablet and kept is as her own. Surprisingly, Mr. Coleman revealed himself to be a war veteran. He thought Aria how to read the tablet, and she summoned Irune. Unfortunately, she electrocuted herself badly in the process, and her survival could be considered a miracle.
Irune offered to teach Aria how to defend herself, for the feline creature had seen worse in its lifetime. They would train in the same location wherein the stone tablet was found, and Aria eventually mastered her craft.
Eventually, the people at Aether Bridge noticed her and took her away. Her story would start from there.
Powers
Lightning Strike: Aria can project thunder either from any part of her body, her chakrams, or from Lightning Spheres, if any are present.
Double Judges Dual chakrams.
She can create two of these. Aria can summon these weapons at will. She has complete control over their movement, unless a psychic, airbender, or anybody capable of interfering with the chakram's airborne movement interferes.
Gifted Power: Dash If she focuses, she can quickly dash to an unobstructed place within her field of vision. This isn't exactly teleportation, and Aria can neither move at FTE speeds or break at least the sound barrier.
Aria is very energetic. She has a deep pool of stamina, and she tires more slowly than the average person.
She moves very swiftly. She runs at the speed of a full-grown professional athlete, despite her height. It can be said that her legs are unusually long, and her energy is untapped.
She isn't entirely immune to getting electrocuted, but the shock hardly does deter her. She can control electricity, after all.
Elemental
This symbol should be on the cat-like-creature's forehead
Name: IruneAlthough she gets called a variety of weird names by Aria, such as Fluffy, Yiffy, Speedy, etc etc etc
Summoning Mantra: "Irune, come forth!"Wow this mantra is so poetic, it makes me cry.
Element: Lightning
Element Gift: Lightning Sphere Irune can project "Lightning Spheres" anywhere within a radius of _______. This allows Aria to project her lightning energy from each of them.
Other Powers
Irune can naturally conjure and manipulate electricity. She can do so virtually anywhere within a 20-meter radius, as long as the object is not an insulator of electricity.
Irune has the uncanny ability to dash through air. She can change her direction in mid-flight, and she moves fairly quickly.
About:
Beyond the Rift, there existed a kingdom of unknown name nor origin. It is said that feline-like creatures would be at the top of the social pyramid. This is because they were naturally born with powerful element-manipulating abilities. They enslaved another race, whose members resembled that of a giant centipede. These creatures had no magic powers, but they were very sturdy and physically strong. They were looked down by their feline masters, and knew nothing of freedom.
Eventually, the centipede-like creatures got fed up and revolted. Years of hard work had caused them to evolve a resistance to common elements, and the feline creatures had become infatuated and lazy. The rebellion became a downright massacre.
So Irune here was the child of an aristocratic feline family. The family wanted to save their dear daughter, and so they used arcane magic to ink her to a summoning stone. The young Irune was then left to flee. She trains Aria on self-defense and electricity manipulation since she doesn't want her to go through the same pain.
Age: 17 Personality: Being the son of a weapons magnate makes him rather disillusioned from the world. Some would describe him as stern, severe and 'stiff as a stick'. However, this also makes him disciplined and a strong leader. In the face of adversity, David will stand and fight until he is utterly broken. This ferociousness also spawns forth from his youth. Where discipline was mixture with the occasional outburst. For all the strength he possesses though, some would say he uses it wrong. He can be a bit of a bully, shoving away those he deems too weak or too unwilling to do what sometimes must be done. From the moment he got Ruina, he knew that he'd be forever do what is necessary. Even if that means the necessary evil. His life motto is "the ends justify the means."
But do not think that he is heartless. He also learned that no man can stand alone against every challenge. Those he calls his friends will have his undying loyalty and trust. He'll stand with them against anything they need to fight.
Abilities: Few expect it but David is actually a pretty good cook. Aside from that he writes to keep his mind occupied. He's also quite good in MMA. Some friends also know that he greatly enjoys creating ashen constructs. Even when they often crumble to dust soon after their creation.
Powers Activated Spell: Ashen Constructs - David can create forms from pure ash. Ruina has often referred to this as a Legacy. Fire brings destruction and ruin. It renders all to the most base of matter: ash, carbon. These constructs, while sometimes even beautiful in their black and white, specked contrast are far from strong. In fact, even the slightest touch that is not David's (or anyone else who can manipulate ash) and the constructs would collapse.
Summon Link: Imperium Ignis - While David cannot summon or create flames out of nothing, he can command, control and feed. This manifests itself as manipulation of fire. He can command flames to spread. Even over stone. Feeding them with his own energy. Furthermore he can turn a candle into a massive fireball. However, these abilities are completely powered by his emotion and will. If he wills the flames to move around him, they will. But the willpower must be strong enough. To develop more consistent results, he uses physical mnemonic. Binding physical movement to an expect result. Through training and habit-forming, he gains consistent results. And thus is able to uphold what can be rudely described as an illusion of control. Despite these expected results, emotions can still flare up and render them dangerously unpredictable.
Gifted Power: Caer Incendium - Sometimes overwhelming power is required to beat down a challenge once and for all. Sometimes playing it fair or on an equal level will not yield the right results. Caer Incdenium calls upon the constantly hungering side of fire. The flames manipulated by David turn blue as the chemical reaction is fed a purer energy. The flames burn higher and hotter. Yet also consume themselves incredibly fast. David knows that once he calls upon Caer Incendium, the battle must end swiftly. So far, it always has.
History: The Camberians are a family entwined with military service. In one way or another. David's father is a veteran from many wars (but not the Rift War) and inherited his father's company. Camberian International. A global weapons manufacturer. The Camberians often either served or worked at the family company. So they uphold a great pride in military service. Every child of the next generation must somehow prove itself. The smart by designing ever more destructive weapons and the strong by distinguishing them military service.
That is David's fate as well. He was born as a second child. His brother proved incredibly smart, thus would become the heir. David knew from a young age that he'd have to join the army. His father did not come off strong and did not push him hard in one direction or another. Instead, he nurtured a sense of pride and honor in his son. When he was old enough, the old man often took him on camping and hunting trips. Teaching him much of the knowledge of his family. One thing stuck the most: to defeat an opponent thoroughly, you must utterly shatter them. Not just the armies. Not just the people. Hit first, hit hard and make clear that more is to follow should they stand up again.
The Rift Wars had made the family even more wealthy and David's father thought to buy his son a present. One of the tablets. However, he knew full well what the tablets could do. Much to David's father's delight, the tablet started glowing and his summoned creature spawned forth. From that day on, David's fate had changed.
Name: Ruina Appearance
Summoning Mantra: Reign of fire. Reign of ruin. Come forth, entropy. Ashes must be made. Abilities: Using her wings, Ruina can fly and soar through the skies. Though her size should be taken into consideration when it comes down to maneuverability. Also, she can inherently breathe fire. Element: Fire Elemental Gift: Imperium Ignis - Much like David, Ruina can control nearby flames and bend them to her will. However, for her it has less to do with will and more with nature. Flames naturally obey her rule. Meaning she has no use for physical mnemonic. Her control is inherent and completely expected. About: Many, at first sight, feared the dragon. For obvious reasons. However, after a bit of time they often realize that Ruina is actually pretty gentle. She doesn't toast most people. Yet it seems that she ignores most humans except for her Summoner. Ruina, at first glance, seems like a peaceful creature. Until she is either forced or asked by David, to fight. Then embers flare up into flames. Her gentleness is replaced by red-hot temper. She demands utter destruction of her foe. It's sometimes so bad that David must forcibly return her to the tablet. Never the less, she is a valuable ally.
Though, when in her gentle state and alone (or with David) there seems to be almost something sad about her. Like she lost something she could never get back. There is a strange sense of passionate sorrow inside of her.
@Gareth How so? I there will be differences in powers, but that's the nature of magic. However no one person has morepowers or gift than anyone else. More importantly characters all seem to have strength and weaknesses to some degree.
@Sketcher Depends on how you write it, you could have been their for awhile like my character or fresh off the boat arrival. Character who have been their for awhile might know each other and you can work that out among yourselves if you like. They would probably at least know each others names. The school maybe has a three thousand students at any given time. With most of them being thirteen or younger, and the rest spread out though grades. So roughly two hundred and fifty students a grade which is pretty small when you consider each grade level has it's own class sections.
Then does anyone from the 14 to 17 group want to do some interactions to give some background to how they might know each other and what kinds of relationships they might have?
