@Spanner Goddamn, this is a kickass god you've got right here. You definitely kept things thematically close; fire is the overarching thing, which certainly has a classic rebirth sub-theme. Plus, a f*cking dragon. No complaints here, feel free to post in the characters tab.
@Hammerman Better, but there's still some of those light based aspects in there... That's not a problem, but just as a reccomendation perhaps you should have at least one power based on making things? Like maybe her barrier of purity, if left in an area, can cause the place to become extremely pure and wholesome?
@Man Jack Frost Hmm, that's a good idea. Like a Holy Relic enshrined in her churches that would enhance the purity in an area and protect it from corruption?
I've also thought of her creating her own race. Like Angels of Purity with no desire to sin unlike humans.
@Hammerman First thing sounds like a great idea, but creating a race is precisely the thing that's gonna go down when we're building the world in-character.
Monster Creation: Ulrus has the power to peek into the souls of lesser beings and see what they are afraid of. From there Ulrus uses the elements, either individually or a mixture of them to create a creature capable of evoking that same reaction. These creatures range from simple animals with no sentience that is just looking to survive to sentient beings capable of using magic to better themselves. The more intelligent and the more abilities it has, the more elements it will need, and it will take more time.
Shapeshifting: Once a creature has been created by him, Ulrus can shapeshift completely or partially into that being, even mixing it with other creations to achieve better results.
Fear Aura: An area around Ulrus where most beings that aren't very brave or stupid slowly become paranoid to their surroundings, fearing for a hidden terror that isn't there, till they go mad, escape for their lives or Ulrus deactivates his aura.
Nightmare Illusions: A process similar to his monster creation, but instead of creating the monster in the flesh Ulrus uses magic to create an illusion. The illusion follows Ulrus commands and has no thoughts of their own, and while they can not harm someone physically, they can affect the psyche of their victims by making them believe his injuries are real.
Fear Removal: Unlike what most people think, a person without fear is not brave, just insane, but still there is always someone who come to him asking him to remove their fear, believing they can make themselves braver. Firstly giving him a few test to see if they could survive the procedure and if they pass warn them about the risk of not feeling fear. If they still accept Ulrus will peek into their soul, and with his hand rip the fear from it, leaving an empty hole where fear was. Those who have no fear usually don't last long, they sub estimate their capabilities and die a fool's death.
Personality: Ulrus is a serious god that doesn't like using his powers to help his followers directly. Instead, he prefers to slowly test them and give them opportunities for them to obtain what they want. While he has some followers, he prefers not to be worshiped especially since most of them either want power or a solution to a problem they already have. Ironically despite being the god of fear Ulrus hates cowards as he believes that the emotion fear should be reserved for real threats to one's life and not petty things.
Hello everyone! Your newly appointed Co-GM signing in here! Seems Jack hasn't introduced me yet, but I'll go ahead and help where I can in regards to CS's and whatnot. I'll be filling in for him since he seems to be a tad bit busy most of the time. I'm about to head off for the night and dunno when he'll be posting again, but I'll address what I can at the moment.
Well, doing some thinking, and what about Shadows? It seems pretty similar to secrets, but if you'd object, that's fine, too.
I want to apologize for not getting to your question Sooner, Myst! Perhaps Secrets, Shadows, and Night would be applicable here? Nighttime is often associated with both of those things and as long as they fit I don't see too much of a problem there. Either way, Shadows sounds lovely by itself if you'd want to do that.
@Hammerman Personally, I like Lux the way she is at the moment. Can't really say whether she's accepted or not yet - Jack has yet to get back to me on whether I can accept CS's without his approval yet~
@Man Jack Frost What do you think about the domain of luck and shadows ? Her followers could be thieves. They dwell in the shadows and they need luck no to get caught.

We already have someone who wants to be death, so perhaps shadows and assassins may not be the best, but a luck god sounds interesting!
I'm just a lowly CO-GM, but to weigh in on my own opinion - Luck and Shadows sounds lovely to me. Thieves are always fun to play as, and they don't realistically have anything to do with death. They just like stealing shiny things.
Reminds me a bit of Nocturnal from the Elder Scrolls~
@Ashevelendar Oh goodness me, I just misread what you said completely, pardon me on that one. But yeah, lucky shadow-thieves sound awesome! Maybe they could have some Han Solo types in their ranks? ;)
@Rune_Alchemist Yep, that's where the inspiration came from. Nocturnal. I was pretty obsessed with her when I first came up with the Goddess I'll create here (10 months ago) xD
@Man Jack Frost No problem. It happens :) Han Solo types ? Nah. I am thinking about making the followers of Ashevelen The Goddess of Luck and Shadows to be strictly women xD
Well. Here's a good amount of my character. I'm still looking for the rest of him, it's in that cupboard somewhere.
“Welcome, Mortal, to the Afterworld. Prove thine worthiness to me, and pass through!”
”Look. Being the god of death isn’t all it’s said to be. Yeah, I can be scary, but that doesn’t mean I’m evil. I just do my job, like everyone else. Appearance: As is so often found with gods, Morten has two forms… one is his true appearance, his godly form. The other, he wears should he walk among the mortals… it matters not whether they be alive or dead. His first form is an ethereal collection of mist that inhabits armour, using it to retain Meanwhile, his human form is that of a young man, at least in shape. But his skin is as grey and as cold as death, and his eyes are far from common. While once upon a time they may have allowed him to watch both realms at once, it is not presently possible. Now they simply serve as something to scare the mortals with… and it looks cool.
Name: Morten
Domain: Death and Secrets Morten is not just simply controller of the Afterworld… but its gatekeeper. And where better to take secrets, but to the grave?
Judge, Jury, Executioner: Guardian to the gate, it is Morten that decides who comes into the Afterworld… and in those few instances, who may leave, sometimes causing conflict. Those he can tell are pure may pass through. Any less, and he will look over your life. If you fail to pass his test, then your soul will be sundered forever, to always walk adrift, only finding peace when they cease to be.
Gatekeeper: Morten can open and close gateways at will anywhere in the world, and can travel between them just as easily. However, if he is too far too long from his post at any one point, there is an exponential increase in the numbers of the Undead. Thus, he is bound to the gateway.
Death’s Cold Embrace: If Morten so wishes, he can change the fate of someone’s death… simply by touching them. Often he doesn’t use it, so as to avoid angering the others… but if he decides that the mortal is to die in a different way, then very little can be done to stop him.
Soul-Searching, Soul-Searing: When you come face to face with Morten, as long as you are mortal, your life will be laid bare before him, and he can sift through it at his own discretion. Do not attempt to hide anything from him.
Oath of Silence: Morten has learned many things that others do not, should not, or cannot know. And, as the holder of the domain of secrets, he has sworn that any secret known to him will remain as such.
Personality: Morten is not a benevolent god. But nor is he malicious. He tends not to work with the other gods. But nor will he work against them. Like death, he simply is there, unchanging, and unavoidable. It comes to all beings, but it does not go after you. Morten is just… Morten. His relations with some of the other gods can be a little shaky, though. With Aldnari, he doesn’t care for his tendency to cause disasters, thus increasing Morten’s workload. And, in return, he can restrict who the Fire God is allowed to resurrect if they have already passed through. Hrelskíninn, who grants a number of her followers the ability to fight past when they ought to have died, is less of a bother, since they’ll die soon anyway, but that doesn’t mean he likes it. But he will eventually reconcile with them, since he never knows when he will have to welcome them to the Afterworld for the last time. He can be quite grim, but he will talk casually enough if he isn’t at his post. While he takes a neutral stance on most things, as most things will one day come to its end, he may occasionally be persuaded to get involved. After all, while he doesn’t want to cause lasting grudges, sometimes you have to get involved.
I think secrets is still yours? Shadows/Theivery doesn't really have much to do with Secrets in my opinion, and I don't think that was in @Ashevelendar intent.
