He also takes the equipment of your average burglar, like climbing gear and lockpicks, with him on his missions. Short Bio: Felix was born into a minor venetian merchant family. They were by no stretch of the imagination poor, they owned quite a few slaves and ships, but they were unable to truly play the politics of Venedig and reach the high society. Nonetheless Felix got a good education in combat, trading, sorcery and politics. The only problem was, that he was the seventh son of the family. He would not become the heir to the fortune, neither would he get to commandeer a ship. He would work for his brothers as an administrator, more specifically he would be tasked with the slaves. Being a rebellious young man like Felix he did it as bad as he could. However that changed when he fell in love with Eva, a beautiful redheaded young slave woman. After they spend their first night together Felix knew what he had to do. He joined the KUM. However he quickly realized that their moral grandstanding would free nobody so he and a bunch of other young radicals joined the Choir of Freedom, or Der Chor der Freiheit, a radical secret terrorist group hellbound on freeing the slaves. While he still is a member of the KUM and now oversees the banking branch of his family, he also sets fire to buildings and assassinates famous slavery advocates and owners. All for the cause. Starting Faction: KUM, Der Chor der Freiheit Spell List: Now you see me: (Mind, Spacetime) Felix plants an Illusion in the head of his victim to make him believe he is still standing right in front of him doing whatever he was doing. In reality however he has already vanished and disappeared a few feet away. Short Bio: Mergoux was born under the name Thalia Coldstone to Elain and Jacob Coldstone in a village far to the North in the mountains. There she was raised by her mother and father, wanting for little as her father was a well established merchant in the area. When she was 8 her village was attacked and destroyed by bandits. She was forced to watch as all the adults of the village, including her parents were executed. Then she and the other children were taken as slaves, forced into hard labor and other less... innocent workings. Finally, at the age of 19 she was able to escape. She stole a weapon while she wasn't being watched, and using the Claymore, she took brutal vengeance on her captors. She left none alive, and freed the other slaves.
After that she enrolled in the military, working her way up to sergeant before being discharged due to 'Erratic and disturbing behavior'. It was after her discharge, at the age of 2y that she shed the name Thalia Coldstone and became Mergoux. She departed on a spree of bloodbathed incidents where she worked as a mercenary, protecting small towns, hunting bandits and killing monsters for coin. She never boasted of her conquests however, and preferred to remain anonymous where possible.
While she tends to do good and punish evil, her methodology is disturbing to say the least, she's a violent psychopath who just so happens to target what she sees as Evil. Bandits, slavers, corrupt rulers. She fights against them all. She cuts them down, or when she gets the chance, will spend hours torturing her victims to death. She is a cruel woman, scarred both emotionally and physically by her past and wanting to take revenge on the world.
Starting Faction: None (Herself?) Mergoux doesn't owe allegiance to anyone. She works alone and prefers it that way. Though she has worked for and with people in the past, she prefers to go it alone, as most companions are deeply disturbed by the way she punishes what she sees as evildoers.
Spell List: None, going with skills
Exceptional Skill List: 2x Swordfighting. Mergoux is a excellent swordwoman. She's spend over a decade using her weapon and has grown well accustomed to it, though she'd fight nearly as well with most other swords. 1x Crossbow. Mergoux often carries a crossbow with her. She's a good shot, but nowhere near a pro. 2x Endurance. Mergoux is a tough mothertrucker. She's endured cruel punishments of her master and being used as a sex slave. She's as tough as nails both physically and mentally.
1x Intimidation? If this is a thing that's allowed. Mergoux is a scary woman. She knows how to scare the living daylights out of people, Batman style, and uses that to her advantage wherever possible If it's not allowed then she's got 2x Crossbow skills
This good? Anything I need to change? Let me know!
Physical Description: A beautiful young woman with long silver hair, emerald green eyes and a slender and highly flexible body
Important items: Arguably her most important possessions, the two double-bladed daggers she has on her are expertly crafted and expertly refined silver daggers given to her by her former master for her job and though she hates her master now, she keeps them to remind herself of what she truly desires.
Short Bio:
Elyria did not really remember much from her early childhood, the only thing that stuck in her memory was her master saying "You and your kin will be very useful to me!" before the rest blurred very quickly and any further memory vanished.
As years passed and her memory became clearer, she would find that the person who had said those words had become her and what was left of what he called her kin's master and that they all had become slaves, though none of the children there even remembered what their life before this was and how they had become slaves in the first place.
What was more surprising was that instead of training them in different menial tasks or selling them, he had hired skilled trainers and mages to teach them how to fight, how to survive and many sorts of magic, though many were more focused and combat more than anything else. She herself was trained by a few people, a few of them were spies that taught her how to be stealthy, a few more of them were (odd enough) foreign dancers that taught her to become flexible and agile. The last people to train her were several previously convicted assassins that in exchange for training her to be the best she could be with knives, daggers and short-swords, her master would use his influence and at least save them from being executed.
The trainings were harsh, especially with the assassins, who were forced to do this, but nevertheless, the training had paid off. By the end of her training, Elyria had become agile, stealthy and very skilled with daggers. Her kin had also become quite efficient in their training, be it simple combat with swords, to even many sorts of magic, yet none even bothered to question why this certain man was bothering to train them so hard.
Halfway through their training, they were all moved to one of the large estates their master purportedly held and were mostly allowed freedom outside their training, though they were not allowed to exit the estate at all unless their master gave them his express permission and for another year, nothing really changed, until... In one of the days, during what would normally be their training time, instead of their trainers showing up, large groups of soldiers and some mages showed up armed to the teeth and surrounded the estate. The leader of these soldiers came up and shouted that their master had become displeased with them and so, they would all be killed as a result.
For a few moments, silence followed as her kin processed what was actually happening, but the soldiers did not wait for them and after a few seconds passed, pikes and swords were prepared, a charge was ordered and combat started. While Elyria knew that she was very skilled in combat, she would be killed by the vastly superior numbers of the unknown soldiers, so instead of outright combat, she opted to sneak out of the estate taking advantage of the battle that was taking in place in courtyard of the estate.
And as if by seemingly impossible luck, she was able to escape through the combat and find a dozen more of her kin close by and together with them, they were able to escape outside the estate, to find out that the estate itself was quite close to the city of Venedig.
So, all of the people there promised to one another that they would get their revenge for their fallen kin one day by trying to finding the man, their former master, question why he would do something like this and then finally killing him, though for now, they had to establish themselves in the city.
Starting Faction: The Silver Daggers- The guild recently started by her and her kinsmen once they escaped the clutches of their master, named after the pair of silver daggers she received from her master during her training. Though they hide their past about their pasts, the members of the guild act as killers for hire, with each person in her guild having their own unique way of killing their target.
Though they take jobs to kill anyone, they are not very willing to kill anyone that is directly associated with the city's government, or directly associated with the emperor as it would draw too much attention to them and possibly mean the end of them if their hideout is discovered.
Elyria and the faction's secret mission however, is to and has always been to find their previous master and to enact revenge for his senseless killing of their kin.
Spell List: None
Exceptional Skill List:
Exceptional Stealth x2: Elyria is quite a stealthy and light-footed character, her steps barely make any noise and to most people, she simply blends in with whatever's around, unable to see her, though a person with more acute sight or hearing may see or hear her. Exceptional Dagger Combat x2: Elyria was taught at the order of the master she now despises to be taught to fight with knives, daggers and short-sword should the need arise and though she's decently skilled with the other two, her skills with the daggers are nearly top notch, though she knows that she still is nowhere near the skill level of her former master. Exceptional Agility: Elyria's body is not very resistant, and as such, she has adapted to be very agile to dodge the attacks of larger and slower targets. Exceptional Seduction: Though she does not like to use this certain skill very often, due to her pleasing physique, Elyria has learned on her own to seduce people, regardless of their gender to quite an advanced level, controlling their actions with her words, though at her current level of skill, she has to seduce her target once every two days or the effect will fade. Also, more strong-willed characters have a good chance of resisting her charms.
Name: Siegmund Holderlin
Age: 54
Physical Description: Though being in the latter years of his life, Siegmund carries himself with all the dignity befit of his family. He is a stout man with broad shoulders and somewhat thick arms. Though his hair and beard has become white from the dark hair he had before, his presence still demands all the respect that comes with his stature. Though his face has started to become old of age, many people still consider Siegmund still handsome in a stoic sort of way.
Important items:
Locket- Though not helping him in any, this item is a memento to remember the love of his life, the wife he had lost so long ago.
Dueling Gloves- Though again, not serving any other purpose than pure look, these seemingly indestructible gloves have never left his side, should a need arise to fight in combat.
Short Bio:
The head of the Holderlin noble family, Siegmund from the time he was a child, he had despised his father and grandfather as they rested on the laurels that his great-grandfather had worked himself nearly to death to earn, but throughout the years, he simply watched his family waste away their enormous wealth while he planned for his time to become the head of the family, and when he did, the family took a very different path.
His fore-fathers before him had been opposed to the policies of the emperor and had nearly started rebellions by themselves in their foolishness, however he worked to do the exact opposite during his lifetime. As soon as the new emperor ascended the throne, he used all his political savy to aid the emperor as best as his wealth and titles allowed him to.
At one point, he even offered his own eldest daughter as wife to the emperor... and sure enough, the years he spent siding with the emperor had worked. He had accepted and now his own family was tied to Reich's own. However, unlike his parents before him, he did not stop there to rest on his laurels, all his life he worked to better improve the standing of his family both in the empire and in the eyes of the emperor.
To show that, he even aided the emperor with his own regular troops and with His Hunters, hunting down and assassinating those he could and defeating those he could either in combat or in duels. Even now after the rebellion, his spies work tirelessly to find out even the slightest trace of dissent and his Hunters work to put down anyone that might think of disturbing the Empire's peace.
Starting Faction:
Die Kaiserjäger(The Emperor's Hunters)- The Hunters were founded two generations ago by Siegmund's father, though during his and his father's time they were only called Die Jägers and served only as glorified bodyguards of his family and though they did more than a perfect job with this, for what Siegmund wished, he had to overhaul them, to expand their horizons.
During his time, he has spent large amounts of his earned wealth to train his old guards by professional soldiers and had them train a new generation of guards picked from the orphan children of the realm, nobody would miss them and with him raising them, they were bound to have their loyalty. These new guards however, served more than bodyguards, whilst some were trained as close quarter warriors, some of them were trained as mages and a few more of them were trained as spies to serve for his own interests.
However, when his eldest daughter married the emperor, in his honor, he renamed them to their current names and offered their services to the emperor to serve him as faithfully as they had served him. However, though they serve the emperor, they have not forgotten where their true loyalties lie, with their own master, the one who saved them from death.
Currently, he is using of his estates as a training ground for his newest generation of loyal bodyguards, mages, warriors... and hunters.
Spell List:
Iron Body(Change)- This spell developed by himself to aid him in both protecting him and in combat turns the outer layer of skin of the user to something akin to iron offering both more protection and allowing the user to pack more of a punch than he usually does.
Exceptional Skill List:
Exceptional Unarmed Combat x3: Though he could have as well learned to fight with weapons, Siegmund has always preferred to fight with his own to bare hands and all the training and the duels he fought throughout the years has honed his skill in combat so much that even with his bare fists he could punch through steel armor and through the flesh of an opponent even without his Iron Body Skill.
Exceptional Endurance: Though not as honed as his combat techniques, after all the punishment his body has received, it too has begun to harden so that he may better handle hits from other opponents.
Exceptional Diplomacy: Siegmund has lived most of his life in court and as such, he has become quite exceptionally skilled in his way of using words.
Alias: Wukong True Name: Liam Leric-son. Age: 20 Physical Description: Wukong is a human, but due to a magus, his former master, using change magic to cruelly punish Wukong, he know looks as this.
Important items: One wooden staff, with the ends capped with iron as to make its strikes more weighty. It's enchanted to make it rather hard to break, or cut by normal means. Magic, however, is still able to harm it normally. A large burlap sack, that he uses to carry his other belongings. 3 books, about old tales of the warriors of the old gods. 1 robe, complete with hood for when he needs to hide himself.
Short Bio: Wukong was born Liam, Leric-son, son to a slave named Leric, who was owned by a powerful mage, in the most eastern stretches of the territories controlled by the Reich des Goldenen Grahles. This magus was a cruel man, as he enjoyed testing his change magic out on his slaves, for to him, changing them was just like turning a fork to a knife, or turning a stone to a stick. Good practice, and nothing of value would be lost in him doing so. This magus also owned a large number of books, of times before the goblet was thrown into the earth, back in the times of gods, and warriors. Liam having learned to read as to be able to bring this Magus the books he wanted, when he wanted, quickly found himself enamored with these stories. In his free time sneaking into the library when his master was gone, to read. One warrior he read about caught his attention most. Sun Wukong, a warrior of mayhem and mischief who defied even some of the gods. Such rebellion gave Liam hope, that one day even he could resist against his masters, as Wukong did his. However, fate is cruel, and existence cares not for hope. At the age of 16, Liam was caught in the library by his master, after many years of reading. The Magus saw a drawing of the Monkey King, and smirked evilly. With a twist of his fingers, and evil intent, he shaped Liam's body like clay, turning him into the spitting image of the creature depicted in the drawing. He then turned a near by chair into a staff, tossing it to Liam, where he ordered Liam to preform tricks for him. To many, this would of been crushing. To have your self changed, to be humiliated, to know that most likely, you'd never be yourself again, knowing that you would be trapped forever in a near monsterous form would crush most. However, to Liam, this was fate dealing him a kind hand. Liam was strong due to the heavy labor that his master put him under. His muscles honed, and his anger strong, Liam swung the staff with surprising speed. As the magus attempted to yell a spell, his neck was struck, and snapped by the wooden staff. The Magus was launched into a bookshelf by the force of the strike, and it then collapsed onto him. Along with the broken neck, this ended the Magus once and for all. On that day, Liam died too and from him arose a being from old. Leaving behind his old name, Liam took up the name of the old warrior. Sun Wukong now roams the land, a force of nature, seeking out evil and destroying it. He seeks to set all free, and to crush all who would enslave under his staff. Hearing of the Iron Decree, Wukong sets his sights on Venedig as his next stop. Will Venedig grind the new monkey king under its heel, or would he be left standing, against its crushing force? Only time will tell.
Starting Faction: None. Spell List: None. Exceptional Skill List: Exceptional staff skills x2: Wukong is quite skilled with staves, using wooden ones to even dent, and shatter, metal equipment without the staves breaking. Exceptional Speed x2: Wukong is quite speedy, able to run up buildings, and deflect arrows with his staff. Exceptional Durabilityx2: Wukong is rather tough, being stuck with magical attack without being worn down to badly in the moment. However, many times, after battle is when the damage truly takes it toll.
Important items: Roulette-Watch and repair kit Short Bio:
Seth was born without the ability to use magic, even though his parents could use a small assortment of magical abilities. Seth was devoid of any Magical gift. However, the universe seems to have replaced any magical abilities with knowledge and a creative touch. From a young age, Seth was always tinkering with objects like toys and other household items. As he grew he began to take apart the appliances in the house and put them back together. It seemed after he did this, they worked better than before.
Since his father owned a Workshop. He allowed Seth to use his tools, scrap metal, and spare parts he could find to create inventions without having to destroy any appliances in the home. With so much creativity and materials at his disposal, Seth began building. To the point, he stayed up all night to finish his projects. His first project took him over 10 years to complement, but once it was done. He knew it could help those without magic.
His new invention: the Roulette Watch was able to gather the Elemental properties in the air and store them to be used later. After researching Magic and its properties, he was able to put the knowledge to use the watch. Each of the 12 slots had a symbol and colors that corresponded with its element. Even though he placed two hands on the watch, only the large hand would move when the watch would activate. The watch allowed his physical body to control and manipulate the elements the watch selected. However, he couldn’t simply choose an element since the watch randomly chose an element after the large hand spun and slowly landed on the element. The watch also had a cool down mode when he over-exerted the mechanisms inside. After three uses the watch would go into the cool down mode and would be inaccessible for five minutes. To keep the magic from harming his skin, the watch requires reinforced Gloves to keep Seth’s hands and skin from being affected by the magic. He knew this watch could change the world and help those without magical abilities, but he also knew the dangers of it. Instead of putting it in the market, he kept the watch to himself. Once his parents passed, he became the owner of the workshop and rebranded it. He called it: Gear Works. He continued to help those who brought in their alliances or objects that needed fixing while also creating new inventions his customers asked for or might need. He will sometimes craft weapons, but that’s on a rare occasion and for those who are collectors of weapons of want to decorate their home with them. Starting Faction: N.A Spell List: N/A Exceptional Skill List: Exceptional Craftsmanship Exceptional Science Exceptional Technology Exceptional Repair Exceptional Magical Knowledge
Name: Clarimonde Sauerstein Age: 24 Physical Description: Clarimonde is a stout woman, firm of base and a tad busty. She's as strong as she looks, and often was forced to carry wounded soldiers across the battlefield during the Rebellion. That being said, she has a worn sort of beauty about her, like an eroded statue. The war left the beginnings of a few lines across her face, but she's still young.
Physical appearance
Important items: Since the Iron Decree, the possessions of the Sauerstein family were completely confiscated, their estate given to the Emperor’s replacement of their family. She managed to hide away a small, bronze locket with a magically made portrait of her family before they were broken apart, and is actively looking for a few other items tied to her past. Non-enchanted. -Her father Rayner’s rapier, well-made and well-used. Nonmagical, unnamed, but has a small inscription at the base: “Stärke des Blutes, Stärke des Steins.” Location unknown, belongs to the Emperor as a trophy of sorts. -Her mother Wilde’s favorite broach, a palm-sized piece of shaped black onyx with silver filigree. Used to control the magical defenses of Steinholme, currently held by whatever noble the Emperor deemed to place in her ancestral home. -Her brother Amwolf’s bones, to be buried in Steinholme. Location unknown, likely scattered.
Short Bio: Clarimonde Sauerstein was born to her mother and father in Steinholme, high atop the Grimrock mountains. The position in nobility had its privileges, but her parents always made sure to remind her that first and foremost, Sauersteins were strong. She attended every execution in Steinholme, was taught tactics, the basics of High magic for self-defense, and how to tell when loyalty to orders was more important than personal initiative. In particular, she took to medical studies with vigor, fascinated by the paradox of how hard it was to kill and how easy it was to die. That is not to say that her childhood was joyless; far from it. She and her brother were inseparable, and her father showed a side of himself that few had seen in the presence of his family. He told them stories, his grim countenance relaxing into an expressive face full of wonder as he related tales of heroes and villains, legends and love. Her mother taught her court manners, but also how to sneak out the back when politics grew too dull. At nights, she would take her children to watch the skies together, pointing out constellations and shooting stars as they savored sweets stolen from the kitchen. Commonborn, Wilde told them of how to read weather and the beauty of simple joys. It was a good time in Clarimonde’s life, but it was not to last. Eventually, the war came. Her father a major commander in the emperor’s army, he and his loyal forces stood with Du Reich des Goldenen Grahles staunchly… at first. As it progressed, he was summoned to meet with Emperor Maximilian XV for war counsel time and time again, emerging from his chambers less convicted every time. It came as a shock to the nation when his forces raised a new flag overnight, joining with the Rebellion as Rayner found himself swayed. Clarimonde herself was surprised, but her father remained silent on the matter. He always just stood there, jaw locked, and said that he couldn’t support his liege anymore, that he refused to see reason. As time went on, the war went poorly. Clarimonde, seeing her twin brother enlist himself at the bottom rung of the military, as was custom for their family, saw fit to do the same. Though her father would not allow her to fight in the infantry, she enlisted as a field medic, an arguably more dangerous job. Medics were not allowed to carry weapons, in exchange for clemency from enemy forces. All the same, magic wasn’t innately offensive. Though she never killed, her wards and constructs saved more than a few from magic. More time passed, Clarimonde bringing more soldiers back from the brink than she could remember, losing countless more. Her parents would not have wished it, but this experience more than any other taught her what it was to be a Sauerstein. While she was away, the Reich reached Steinholme. Her mother led what defenses there were, but it was not enough. Wilde fell in defense of their home. Amwolf perished on the front lines, his body desecrated and his bones stolen. Her father was captured along with the rest of the leaders of the Rebellion. The war was lost. The Iron Decree came. Clarimonde was to be auctioned off to the highest bidder as a slave. This was not to be allowed. To herself, bound and prevented from using her magic, the newfound heir to House Sauerstein composed herself. She would not show her captors any anguish. She would give those of her blood who fell a proper burial. She would find and save her father from his prison beneath Castle Goldenreche, and do what she could to spite the Empire any way she found. She may be a slave for now, but Clarimonde Sauerstein is not a woman to be trifled with.
Starting Faction: N/A, slave. Loyalty belongs to her family, and the legacy of House Sauerstein
Spell List: -Minor Constructs(High): The user conjures simple tools and objects no larger than a breadbox, remaining in existence so long as she focuses on them. Traditionally, Clarimonde utilized this spell for field surgery, summoning sterile clamps and scalpels. Occasionally she drinks out of a conjured teacup for kicks. -Lesser Judgement(High): Crude but effective, this spell hurls white bolts of energy, doing damage which cannot be healed by magic. Hits as a crossbow bolt would. -Lesser Ward(High): Simply a ward against other magic, this spell protects its target for a few hours before wearing off. Has no effect against physical weapons. Analogous to chain-mail, the ward does not completely negate other spells, just lessens their effect on the beneficiary.
Exceptional Skill List: -Exceptional Will: Clarimonde has seen more than her fair share of death and pain. Holding a man’s intestines in while lightning crackled an inch from her head changed her. Nerves of steel. Functionally, this is the same as mental Toughness, resisting mind-altering affects. Not immunity, but a very strong will against effects of the same level. Fluff-wise, her face is a stone wall. -Exceptional Medicine(x2): Studying under the finest tutors the Sauerstein coffers could afford, Clarimonde then spent several years performing meatball surgery in muddy trenches with minimal supplies. She can’t bring back the dead, but if the brain is alive she’ll damn well keep you that way.
Physical Description: A somewhat thin noblewoman of middling to high standing with quite beautiful features accented with light make-up around the eyes and mouth to suggest a somewhat more wasp-like appearence. Generally Kamile is seen wearing dresses with corsets that constrict around the belly and lower chest, pressing her bosom up to give the illusion of lift while keeping her appearing thin, though whether she is or not is unimportant. In addition to her gown she also sports a single-finger claw ring styled like a hornet facing towards the back of her palm with the stinger as the actual talon.
Important items: Claw ring of the noble house Vespid seemingly enchanted with curse infliction that leaves those stabbed under her control through unknown means.
Manor vespid; Essentially just a normal manor and small estate sporting a respectable entourage of mind controled and heavilly altered humanoid guards, as well as slaves to tend to the grounds among other more secretive tasks that generally don't make their way to the light of day. Generally attacks on the manor are met with rather vicious and brutal punishments that often leave attackers as little more than experiments in her labs although on good days she can be coerced into simply torturing you to death which is arguably preferable depending on who is asking. None have before escaped alive, and forces attempting to free her slaves largely find themselves attacked by the very people they're attempting to free.
Underlings/experiments: While less important in terms of attatchment so much as she simply enjoys the study material and ease of living that comes with having them around to deal with things she just simply can't be asked to partake in like some common peasant. Lady Vespid's underlings are of decent power and I will be providing altered cses for each basic type, though like with Lady vespid herself, the actual bios will be ommitted for the time being, though I might add them in if they are every somehow learned about.
Starting Faction: Unless you would like to be mind controled, experimented on, or otherwise lose that character i'm going to hazard a guess and say you don't want to join her faction. However, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT, she is able to make deals to people seeking information, however her costs are not monetary and largely feature someone having to volunteer themselves to be experimented upon (non-invasively so as to keep (most of) their sanity) This can and will mutate your character or leave them with some other affliction so You have been warned.
Spell List:
~Controlled mutation (Change): The fruits of experimentation are applied here, allowing lady vespid to mutate those under her service in the most advantageous ways she's found, generally endowing extraordinary talents at the cost of disfigurement.
~Swarm Queen(mind and exception entomologist): Lady vespid is capable of manipulating insects using little more than mental commands. This allows her to implant and raise specialized insects to handle the less chitinous minions.
Exceptional Skill List:
~Exceptional entomology(x2): The study of insects both mundane and mystical.
~Exceptional wealth: she doesn't care about money in the slightest. If it was a battle of hitting each other with sacks of all the wealth the two parties owned, 8/10 times she'd win
~Exceptional medicine: Mostly for surgery and experimenting on test subjects as well as altering her babies(the insects not actual babies before anyone asks, though I wouldn't put it past her to bring in pregnant slaves for that purpose) via her change magic mixed in with medical knowledge.
Appearence: Generally the men in masks are rather tall, broad, and muscular with every inch of their bodies covered in black and yellow clothing with their faces covered with wasp masks. Equipment:
~Wasp masks: largely ornamental, though they do work as protective face plates due to the metal in them in a pinch. ~Vespid sercoats: black and yellow with the vespid crest eblazoned on the center worn over half plate of black steel. Un-enchanted and of middling quality, however it's still some fairly hefty armor. If you couldn't guess it, they're also all male.

Name: Atrius Age: 31 (Which is a little older than a juvenile in gargoyle years) Gender: Male
Important items: A small purse of money, an enchanted cloak that allows him to walk about during the day, so long as he isn't touched by sunlight
Exceptional Skill List: Flight, super strength, night vision
About gargoyles: Imagine a large, reptilian creature with glowing eyes, swooping at you from the dark night sky. That was the vision the mage that created these creatures was going for. They were an experimental watch dog, enchanted to turn to stone during the day (their resting period) and turn to flesh at night to protect their master's domain. They were a success, and began to multiply among themselves. These beasts of the night are intelligent, capable of compassion, and very territorial. Once given a roof to roost on, they will protect their homes, and thereby the occupants, with their lives. However, once the human occupants of their roost have fallen, they will typically except a new family as their masters.
As far as abilities, gargoyles were molded to bring fear into the hearts of enemies. From their hulking size, legendary strength, glowing eyes, and batlike wings, no man would go into battle with one without fear of losing.
Gargoyles are warm blooded, so they can live in colder regions if properly cared for. Most are very lazy, enjoying the care of their masters in return for their protection. They don't ask a lot; a few pounds of food each night and the promise of safety during the day. Because they do tend to eat a lot, they are typically only owned by the upper class who can afford to feed them. Gargoyles, if treated well, can live up to 200 years.
Appearance: Atrius is still young, so he has yet to grew to his true potential. He stands are a measly 6'7", with a slightly heavy muscle build. He has ashy grey skin and darker, almost black colored hair. Typically, his hair, which is long enough to reach down his back, is held up in a pony tail. His eyes are bright gold, and shine yellow at night and in the dark. His wings are just getting to where they are mature enough to allow him flight, so he's still a little wobbly in the air. His claws, however, are very prominent. Atrius has two horns on his head, but he rarely actually uses them. They're mostly for decoration.
History: Atrius was one of the first hatchlings born at Steinholme. As a youngster, he often interacted with the human occupants of his home, who treated him very well. Atrius, like most of his clan, enjoyed the Sauerstein family. They felt like they were more than just decorations and guard dogs, but actually part of the group. They grew to earn his loyalty, something that most gargoyles lack towards anything other than the spot they rest on.
When Atrius hear of the family being overthrown, he was bent on stopping it. However, his clan held him back. They didn't want him causing trouble and getting them all smashed come day break. No one was happy about the change in ownership, but no one was willing to do anything about it. No one but Atrius.
Come the night after, Atrius awoke and fought his family over it until he finally just flew off on his own. His mission in clear: find his masters and free them.
