Hans stopped in his track as suddenly as someone caught him off guard and called out to him. Oh great another woman what now? What was with him and girls today? Japan was weird. Then again he wasn't a shut in, and he was working out so that made him better than some people now of days. Hans sighed and grumble a little but decided he best go over and check out what this woman wants. "Um ok I guess but I'm watching you. Don't try anything funny alright? I'm not going to lose my phone that easy." Hans said as he eyed the woman and pulled his phone out of his pocket and handed it to her after bringing up the google app on the phone. He honestly didn't know why he was trusting a stranger with a phone but it sounded urgent, and she said as much so he figured he'd play the part of the good Samaritan a little before he got home.

As Alex approached the door, Kimiko was still getting a feel of the newfound weapon in her hands, a quiet conversation shared with her friend about their situation. Creepy would be one way to describe the atmosphere. Esoteric, with a side of danger. Nothing about this world made sense, nor did it feel like it was supposed to. From the glimpse she had of the outside, it seemed as if they were stranded here, surrounded by nothing. Their purpose was unclear; their journey unguided. Exit was unlikely, as was survival. But Kimiko had no idea what sort of danger they were in until she saw... them.

Like a verdant flood, they poured into the room, covering Alex in their sickly forms. Her wooden weapon would be nigh useless; she was as likely to hurt her ally as her enemy. And yet, what was she to do? Nothing? A moment of hesitation as she fought through the paralyzing fear, then she screamed.
"FROSTY!"

Kimiko rushed forward, knowing her next move was about as stupid as it could get. "Take my hand!" she called out as she reached into the chittering mass of flesh. "Come on, come on! Where are you?! Reach out... please!" The pain was almost unbearable, and tears streamed down her face, but still she persevered.

"Come on, I can't lose you now!"

"Wow, you don't trust easy at all," said the woman bluntly, the light of the screen reflecting off her shades as she tapped in directions to the location she wanted. From his vantage point, Hans would be able to easily read what she was typing in: Hata Express HQ. And over the sound of fingers against a touchscreen, he would also be able to more easily identify what exactly she was humming, the light, half-hearted notes immediately recognisable as a song that was currently quite popular.

"Ooh, it isn't far?" she mused, almost eagerly. "Just head down the road and all? Ex-cellento, I got this."

The jacket-clad woman handed the phone back to Hans.

"Thanks for the help," she said casually, adjusting her glasses. "Oh and uh, don't tell anyone I was here. Going incognito today."

Even if the patch on her jacket was recognisably one from a certain music group.

"Yeah it shouldn't be too far away." Hans said as he took back his phone and put it in his back pocket. "I'm heading that way if you want to follow me. Otherwise have a nice day madam. And I didn't intend to tell anyone about you regardless." commented Hans as he made his way towards his own destination that coincidentally was in the same direction. He really wasn't interested in talking to a stranger. He had enough social interaction weirdness for one day. He supposed it could be much worse. He could be back home dealing with his parents' issues. Or he could be in some hospital because he missed a flip landing and broke his ankle. He resumed his brisk jog towards his dorm. He hoped that the world would slow down again soon.

"I think we are the rough customers."

The reformed(?) delinquent commented a little dryly, but glancing down the street anyway. Yesterday had him a little on edge. A fight you could see coming was one thing, but...

Well, whatever controlled the DRUs wasn't playing by the usual rules. Or by human ones. He and Kimiko weren't either, not anymore, but he didn't know how to replicate that. Daisuke'd tried, on the way to work. He'd tried to tap into that feeling, summon Benkei. He wasn't sure how. If he didn't know how he didn't know if he'd be able to do it again. And that made the prospect of another fight very, very uncertain.

Knuckledusters weren't gonna do much, but he had 'em in his bag anyway.

"But you're right. Let's head inside." He glanced over to Kazou and shrugged a little. "More than fifty of 'em, I'd bet. Wasn't pretty. I'd tell you how we won, but... I don't think you'd buy it."

"DRU's fine. Let's say we counter-whammied whatever whammied him."

"How unlucky," she muttered, following after Hans. She was jogging after him, quickly catching up within seconds. Her face didn't look like she was very excited to stick with him until she reached her destination, but she had other motives that she felt were necessary to keep up. Most prominently, making sure he didn't blab about her lack of being incognito.

"You ain't at all talkative huh," commented the shades-wearing woman. "If that's right, you won't blab at all."

Relief washes over Ryoma as Jin spoke, denying death for a later date, he couldn't help but let out a soft relieved sigh. When Jin asked how he was able to help them, Ryoma couldn't help but let out a thoughtful expression, it was hard to put it in words, especially with such little time to collect and gather his thoughts on his new power and knowledge. But suddenly Ai rubbed agaisnt his arm gently before speaking for him as his lack of speaking seems to get her notice.

Ai explained his abilities as 'superpowers' which is correct as it reminded him of powers from TV and the few anime he was able to watch as a child. Ai then explained they ran from a monster, the Icy samurai no doubt she was talking about and how running away from it was how they found Jin. Ryoma nodded, Ai talking about the recent events made him realized how insane the past hour or has been, but it also allowed him to collect his new and ill explained knowledge, must be related to that number, XX, or 20. But Ryoma has to speak at least for Jin's sake.

"That's a way to put my new abilities..." Ryoma said thoughtfully. "I'd admit I don't fully understand it all myself..." He admitted. "But from what I can gather... This power is called a Persona, mine is called Anubis... I don't get why its called that." Ryoma spoke as he tried to say the right words. "I was able to summon it after a voice inside my head forced me to confront... who I am as a person... It must sound insane... but its true." Ryoma spoke with firm honesty.

But Ryoma let out a sigh as he finsihed speaking before saying one final thing, "but I'm so relieved you're still alive Jin-Kun, I was worried it was only me and Ai-Chan stuck here." Ryoma spoke softly. For once in nearly four years Ryoma wasn't alone in the world, he had friends and allies with him by his side.

"I'm from another country, and I like to keep to myself. There's no reason I have to tell my dorm mates about some lady I let use my phone. Look I promise I won't tell anyone on my integrity as a man. Does that comfort you? I hope so I don't have anything other than my word." Hans said as he slowed down his pace he figured the woman wouldn't stop bothering him one way, or another it would seem. Too think he was having an nice day until some old guy started to chat with him. Those girls weren't so bad in earnest but he still didn't like how they were kind of pushy with him. "I'm not going to follow you don't worry I'm going back to my dorm I have no interest in whatever business you're conducting. I'm a simple guy."

Jin listened close, their head clearing and giving way to something more stable, as Ryoma's story started to sound very, very familiar. "...that's... not as crazy as it sounds, actually. I heard something like that too. I'm pretty sure I was..." They looked away, a twist of fear stalling their tongue. "I was almost dead, and someone spoke to me. Asked me my name, and... well, I told her. It was a her." Jin ran a hand through their hair. "Clotho. I don't know why I know the name. I don't even really remember exactly..." But that was a lie. Jin remembered every single horrifying moment. Goody. Something new for the nightmare bank.

Slowly, Jin stood, wincing and expecting pain, but finding none. "Ryoma-sempai, you did a damn good job. I probably shouldn't be able to stand up. How about we try to get out of here? I've had enough playing the victim for one day. I am really tired of it, actually. I would like to kick some ass, but maybe we'd better just find an exit."

Natsume; Saturday Morning - Practice Building?

Yuuhei's attack connected, and it was vulnerable. The noises it made grated hard on her ears. The monster was trying to regain its footing, but she wouldn't let it. Although she didn't possess any of the magic that the girl earlier had shouted, she did have one that could blow it up a little more.

The girl stopped running as she passed the girl, shielding her from the creature. "Persona!" Saying that outloud came to her was like second nature to her. And in response, the white tiger from earlier had manifested once again beside her. With a roar, the tiger had casted an explosion that Natsume had aimed at the abomination's torso.

"Seriously, what is this thing?" She asked no one in particular. Although it was down right now, at the back of her mind she was considering if they should try and retreat for now while they can and tackle it after they recuperate.

Natsume turned to the black haired girl. "Are you alright?" The girl didn't seem to be hurt much aside from a few bruises from probably stumbling while trying to get away from the monster, but it wouldn't hurt to make sure.

A few blocks away from the park

"Hah, integrity of a man huh?"

The phrasing seemed to amuse her.

"Yeah, that's good enough," she conceded with a firm nod. "No need to tell nobody that I'm here or -"

There was a quiet thudding sound somewhere further beyond them, one that was so faint that only those with good ears could hear. The woman, likely somebody with good ears, stopped abruptly, taking her shades off and squinting into the distance to see what was going on. If Hans were to follow her gaze, he would see nothing of note, yet there was a strange haze, an unfitting golden tinge to the air that seemed to waver in and out of existence. One that was ... somehow approaching them. Rapidly. Displacing the air. The tar of the road seemed to shudder.

Then a gust of wind, light yet clearly unnatural, blasted past them. Down the road. Towards the park.

A haze of air that rumbled away.

The woman adjusted her sunglasses, placing them back on.

"Huh," she said in an incredibly flat tone, turning around. "What was that?"

If Hans was still looking ahead rather than turning back as she did, he would be able to notice a tiny pink, glinting light also in the distance that pulsed too regularly to be anything but artificial. Situated right in front of a house, in fact.

Uchima Senior High - A Hallway, 2nd Floor, Classroom Building???

"Um, so both of you have a ... Persona ..."

Ai trailed off, looking down at her hands quietly. For a split second, she wasn't doing anything, only staring at them, but then she immediately squinted, and her hands clenched, squeezing tightly. Her face was scrunched up cutely in exertion, but nothing was happening. A moment later, she stopped, and sighed almost dramatically.

"Looks like I haven't gotten powers mysteriously," she mock-lamented with an exaggerated huff, pouting. "If I did, I could help Ryo-kun and Takahashi-san against ..."

She quickly paused, eyes going unfocused for a second, before quickly moving her gaze in the direction of where she and Ryoma had come from.

"Ah, um," the third-year began, her tone somewhat squeaking as fear creeped back into her voice. "There's uh, um, this ice monster hunting us, so we need to find the exit before .... before ..."

"It finds us," she finished lamely.

Ryoma was keeping a close eye on Jin, making sure they were okay, they looked close to death just moments ago, after all. Jin admitted to not thinking his ramblings as mad and even said they heard a voice of their own a woman's voice who asked for their name. Jin even give them a name on their Persona. Clotho. Jin admitted to not knowing how they know the name, it was like him with Anubis earlier. It was all so confusing and worrying to think that unknown words and knowledge can arise from a mind like that, even if it was caused by a rather traumatic turn of events. "Yeah, I was like that with Anubis as well... but I say we wait till later to worry about the implications of this whole thing..." Ryoma admitted, he wanted to talk to Jin in great detail about this and what it means but right now is not the best time to think about this madness.

Ryoma watches as Jin stood up, it looked easy and smooth, easier than what the wounds from moments ago should allow, it would seem both Ryoma and Jin are thankful for his healing capability. When Jin praised, Ryoma simply smiled and nodded. Jin continued saying they wanted to leave this place and not be a victim again today, Ryoma nodded in let out a sound of affirmation.

Suddenly Ai spoke up before trailing off right away about the both of them having Persona's. Ai seemed to stare at her clenching hands and had an expression of pure concentration before easing up and letting out a sigh, in a more causal affair Ryoma would be confused on what she's doing and maybe ask if she was okay. But he knew what she was trying to do. Summon a Persona. But it would seem for naught. Her very next words confirmed his thoughts. But honestly. Ryoma was thankful Ai didn't have powers. From what Ryoma can gather from his own 'awakening' and from Jin's is it is highly stressful and distressing and from what he tell from Jin's case, bloody. Ryoma wouldn't wish this 'awakening' on anybody.

But before Ryoma could speak up about this thought, Ai mentioned the reason why they ran this way. Ryoma looked at Jin and held his tongue for a moment to find the right words. "Ai-Chan's right, a giant monster attacked us... and I wasn't strong enough to beat it on my own..." Ryoma honestly said, Ryoma was aware enough to understand his capabilities and limits. He is a healer with limited offensive power. But his supportive ability seems very useful, but not so much when he's the only one who can fight. "The monster gave us 5 minutes to run, and I'm not sure how much time we have left... so I suggest we run away from here right away." Ryoma spoke, while he's acting as calm as he can but he as scared as Ai and as eager to fight as Jin but he doesn't want to put Ai-chan and Jin-san in danger and ultimately he just wants to get out of this school unharmed with his friends.

Alexander Furst

@Crimmy @JBRam2002 @GarlandDaHero @Suku

As he observed the outside before him, he reached out a hand towards the window, aiming to lay it on there... and he saw...

Oh dear god, what was he looking at?!

Alexander's hand visibly recoiled back just as it was about to reach the glass, the teen jumping back just a little as his eyes widened, mouth agape. Swirls of colorful neon green and purple were what he saw before him... it was as if he was staring into the abyss after taking a huge dose of LSD, mucking around with his head.

He began stepping back, trying to get the hell away from whatever this... slime monster was... and then the walls started rusting. Oh good, so he was right about being stuck in a Silent Hill setting as well. That was probably the most normal thing that he had seen so far...

Because this goop started becoming legs. Why was he getting scared? "Calm down Alex, you're just surprised, that's all, you can get out of here!" Why? Why was he breathing so heavily? Were these his instincts telling him that he was going to die? No way! Not a chance in hell! As he drew his baton, it hit him.

He was surrounded by the noxious puddles of slime, now dripping with decaying pink sinew... Alex might of thrown up a little in his mouth at the repulsive sight... and then there were golden eyes. Excellent, just... perfect.

As one of the fleshy eyes began to near him, he reacted with swift impunity by stamping down on the golden eye, hearing the squishing under his foot. That... that didn't help him at all!

As the strange goo began closing in on him, there was another option that he honestly should of just taken.

Jumping out of the middle of this puddle of caustic unfamiliarity.

Alright... one, two...

Three.

With one valiant push Alex launched himself into the air, almost seemingly making it... if not for the sludge that was still attached to his shoe. He quickly plummeted down into the gunk, now covered in it, face and clothes! Trying to get up, he found that much to his horror he couldn't get out. It was on him!

Struggling only made it worse as he attempted to wrangle the goop off of him, only to have his hand stuck... oh my god, this just went from bad to worse.

...

OK, NOW IT'S AT THE WORST OF THE WORST! Claws and mouths were spawning in the sickly goo that was now enveloping his body, biting at him, scratching his cheek! He winced as it scratched at him, causing a bit of blood to trickle down his temple. All of them, the others... they were seemingly at a loss at what to do...

Until suddenly he saw it.

A huge wave of that repulsive mix of toxic flesh was about to come crashing down on him. He... he had to do something, no matter how futile it was. There was no way in hell he could go down this easily...

"Get the hell away from me," he bellowed at the wave that was coming down on him, swinging with his baton arm at the crashing tide. This was true desperation as he was covered by the tide.

The world, it became muffled to him. This... this was so disgusting! It was blinding him, he couldn't breathe! Alex thought he might lose consciousness, until suddenly he barely made out a familiar voice...

"Maita-san?" The only thing that was visible was the back of his other hand and some parts of his arm, dipped deeply into the fluids. He tried to reach out, he didn't want to die here... he... could he? He felt at a loss here; should he truly give up? No one would try to use him anymore, to get a head start on the latest trends.

Plus, who would really miss him? Some people he just met and was cold as ice to? His parents? Anyone who only cared about fashion? Then why was she...

Alexanders hand reached out just briefly... before receding. The goop slowly made its way up, working to finally envelop the young man.

... it hurt.... all of it... it felt like he was being torn to shreds. They didn't have to waste their time on someone they just met, so he tried to scream "Get the hell out of here, run!"

... yet, his attempts were muffled. Alex had no strength to move his mouth, though, not like he was able to move it in the first place. This... thing that was consuming him was keeping his whole body on lock-down...

It hurts...

It hurts...

Ithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsthurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsthurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsthurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsithurtsthurtsithurtsithurtsithurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurtshurthurtshurtshurts.

... and then finally, not a trace of Alexander Furst was left.

He was taken by the waves.

Run, he would like to say.

Run, he would like to think.

But he couldn't.

He couldn't do anything.

And then his consciousness was lost to the darkness.

Happiness. Their chittering intensified, the joyful cries of an angelic choir filling the air as the shambling masses of beautiful, tumour-ridden flesh arched in shuddering pleasure, the acidic green overflowing from those cystic pores. A million feet tapped in an eerie, disjointed rhythm, and they simply began to pull away, escorting the stolen boy from his companions with naught a care for their efforts. They were quick, unnaturally so. A horde of happy, bulbous creatures of pulsing rot - black, yellow, pink - that rolled their manic, disgusting eyes as they sought to flee.

To take away the unfortunate Alexander.

They wanted him.

They chittered, rapidly skittering away from the teenagers.

And nothing would stop them.

Not when the would-be saviours would soon too be dead.

"NO!"

From a hallway beyond, the cry was made. A desperate, despairing scream.

Panicked running.

The world was reborn anew in flame.

Behind the unfortunate group, a rushing torrent, twin lines of searing white, burst across the wooden planks beneath them, raging heat bursting through the air. Two creatures, black and red and burning, rose from where the streams met the walls: groaning, hissing as fire crackled, sparks flitting through the warm, smoking air and dissipating into the clouds. They stood in front of the teenagers, a looming threat between them and the door, taking up their time as the chittering tumours disappeared.

Those creatures spasmed.

Enveloped in flame. Smoke mixing into the dull orange.

Golden pinpoints of light flashed into existence.

"I'm too late ..."

The same voice from before. Drained. Scared. Exhausted and pained. The footsteps slowed. A young man, slightly shorter than average and with his hair shaken into a mess, stopped mere metres away from the group. He was dressed in the uniform of Uchima Senior High, but his gakuran was covered in cuts and burns, and soot littered its entire surface. Small wounds dotted a bruised face, and there was a clotting cut right underneath his eye. Most eyecatching, however, was the small red hairclip attached to his hair.

Something shook.

"Get away!" he tried to shout to them.

It was too late.

Though the wisps of flame still burnt through the air, there was an eerie, unnatural coldness. Of the heart.

The newcomer froze.

And it came.

The simple, normal, footsteps.

Emerging from the smoke surrounding the door.

Striding past the two monsters of fire.

Towards the group.

A student in a gakuran.

A student walking closer. Like any other student. Like any other teenager. Male. Surrounded by horror.

No face.

None.

Just a mask. White. Black.

Like a mime.

The Park

There was a loud bang. Yet for those few in this area of the park at such a time, there was no sight, nor physical manifestation, of the source of the strange noise. There was a tinge of golden along the air, but such could easily be dismissed as merely the glow of the day. Nothing to be concerned with.

Another bang.

Smaller.

Quieter.

Unnoticed.

For the three teenagers standing in the park, the air seemed to rapidly displace. The air began to twist. It was distorting, the world around them taking upon a foggy, golden glow. The haze fell upon them, and the sounds of nature, of the park they were standing in, seemed to dull considerably. And then the air shook again, and the world itself seemed to shake for them.

Not just them.

Because something had come.

A new presence could be felt in the breeze. The atmosphere, glowing, seemed to shift.

Something snarled.

A primal, disgusting snarl.

"MORE OF. YOU. HUMANS."

And a barely-strung together declaration.

In front of the three teenagers emerged a massive creature. Its massive legs, two in number, were like powerful, muscled tree trunks, and black oozed down from its shins to its four-toed, heavy-stepping red feet. A cloud of white seeped from a hole in a red-yellow torso of immense size, a strange entrance where normally one would find the human navel. The cloud descended around the creature's body, obscuring much of its lower half. It had two arms, humanoid arms, that were muscled like a champion's, each bulging muscle almost frightening to behold. Yet above there was where the humanity seemed to stop.

A long, flowing neck. Flexible. Pale red. Jerking too and fro with wild abandon. A head more pig than man, with tusks emerging from beneath its fanged mouth. Protruding from the chin. Its eyes were a gleaming red. As if it had been crying. Pink strands of hair hung off its teeth. It hunched over, slamming its fists against the ground.

@Crimmy"Ugh..." Hans mumbled to himself quietly as he stopped and turned back to the lady he was with. He wondered what it was exactly that she was up to but he knew it didn't concern him. If anything she was acting suspicious at this point. "Look miss is there something you need? I think you're just being paranoid if you want I can call the cops or something and you can go find them. I mean you look really uncomfortable I suggest we keep going to where we're going. Chances are there's just a big storm brewing, or some sort of large pipe burst." Hans suggested as he looked at the woman with indifference. He just hoped this all wasn't one big joke.

"Ice... monster." Jin echoed softly. Great, the one thing they hated most. The closest thing to winter that Jin could deal with was an ice cream cone. "Great. Yeah, let's get moving. I really don't want to encounter any more ice today. Or for the next several months, actually." Jin bristled, goosebumps spreading down their arms. "I can still feel crystals in my blood." Now wasn't the time to be afraid, though, especially in front of other people.

"Come on then. Lead the way, Ryoma-sempai. You know where it was, let's keep moving the other way." Maybe that could give them time to call Clotho again. There was a rather large part of Jin's logical mind saying that this was all some bad dream, still, that they'd wake up in bed very confused and probably having eaten some expired instant noodles the night before. It had to be unreal. Had to be.

As her grip tightened Alexander was nothing but asshole to her but he was a student a fellow human being and she would not leave without him. Kagami gave a brief yell as she charged forward nothing else mattered she would NOT leave without him this thing would give him back even if she had to force IT! Her sword at the ready in she ran closing the distance between her and the mockery in front of her closed. Her hands slipped to her right side the edge of the sword dragging along the floor.

"Kidnapping this boy. Why?"

It wasn't long after Enju spoke up that the other boy was in risk of being kidnapped that he extricated himself from the situation entirely. Such was always the case when you were outspoken with such dubious intentions. Jake crossed his hands and nodded with the silent line of thinking without realizing that the other girl had all but stated she did not want either boys along for their adventure to get ice cream on this particularly warm day.
All jack heard was 'get ice cream' to which he naturally assumed it was ok for him to tag along! A refreshing cool cone of frozen confection was exactly what the day called for!

"That sounds like f-"

Whatever it was spoke loud and clear, menacing and dark, with a presence that made Jacks spine tingle. A rare taste of fear.
Complete and utter fear.

Jack swore by the sun and stars that he was a brave young man. Could stare down any man that meant him harm.

"-ucking run!"

Jack reacted to the monster the same way any sane or rational person would, grabbing Enjus hand and pulling hard while poor Blair was slung over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"GO! GO! GO!"

Nowhere to go! Out of the park, into the streets, get the police! Yes! They had weapons right!?

Sasori and Co. Investigations

The shamus scratched at his pale cheek, seemingly pondering on what he could say. He didn't know the new kid, not when they could easily be a wrong gee, but if the bearcat thought he wasn't just some chiseler, then Yoshinori Sasori would give him a chance to take a flutter at the caper too. He couldn't rattle much out of this queer case, so maybe the kids could take a squint instead.

"All the other cans have gone croak," he explained, crossing his arms. "But the goons behind this lav got a clean sneak. Lammed off before the prowl-car boys even got an eyeful."

He'd gone 'round to grease something out after the kids had left, but no dice. It should've been eggs and coffee to nab some extra, but the rest had gone and faded by the time he drove back. Without even the bulls noticing. Man, he thought he was a bit of a card sharp, but whoever were these hard numbers certainly made him look like a real dope.

And if that dingus inside was a sign, he fingering them on being definitely from upriver.

"You kids wanna come in?" asked the detective for a second, adjusting his hat. "Don't want no rough customers catching wind."

Kimiko shrugged and led the gang inside from atop DRU, with Daisuke hot on the little robot's wheels and Hitomi and Kazou bringing up the rear of the children's crusade. They were hardly inside when DRU swiveled around to bring Kimiko face to face with Sasori, and her questions began.

"What? How could all those bots have been glommed off? There were at least ten five spots worth of 'em. What about that ugly mug I konked in the back of the wagon? You jugged that and brought it back, righto? It's not like it can just take the run-out, it's a puss."

It may have been a Tommy gun's drum mag worth of questions fired off in rata-tata-tat-tat rapid fire fashion, but hey, if Kimiko's gut was right, that's why the dick had taken a shine to her in the first place.
