No, seriously, The whole city has been blanketed in a thick layer of Dust and smoke, breathing isn't Impossible but it's going to be extremely hard, risky too... A Quality gas-mask or other environmental protection is highly recommended if one wishes to avoid suffering from inhaling dust and smaller bits of glass or metal debris. quality visual range is between 5 and 50 feet so soon after the event depending on how far from ground zero someone is, and if history was ever any indication it's going to be a few days before it settles down to 'clear view' again.
The whole city is kindof sweltering from the massive fires still carrying on in some places, some aerial vehicles are still making the journey back towards the ground, and many bits of debris from larger explosions are still falling from the sky here and there... with the occasional body mixed in.
The World-net has gone Silent, inaccessible, though short range and web-repeating transmissions are still functional, there's no telling how many people can actually respond.
There also appears to be some kind of EMP like effect still at work, though it is noticeably wearing off, the larger and more complex things will take a bit longer to start working again, but smaller electronics appear to be regaining their functionality already.
Madness... That's what many would wish it was... The sky was filled with lights last night, beams from some unknown source cutting into the city's mass, Colorful ribbons of light that would slice clean through any form of defense the Corporations could muster, Fires so grand their light glowed furiously for miles around... and they were everywhere. It wasn't the single explosive detonation that supposedly saw the end of Old Ark City, but some may argue that it was even worse.
I remember sitting on the balcony of my own little estate in the high class district, east side, cackling madly because I thought it was just a fancy light show at first, perhaps complaining a little because my view was obscured by the dozens of even richer bitches who had bigger buildings than me... that was before the first explosions.
Then I was watching in irresistible fascination and horror as 'something' did what billions of people have spent centuries trying to do... Tear the Corporate towers from their foundations and bring them tumbling down. I cannot truly put into words both the horror and beauty of watching such a titanic construction slowly tumbling towards the earth, of watching countless hundreds of airborne vehicles plummet as if thrown to the ground, even seeing one of the distant great flying cities visibly falling... It had been such a remarkably clear night, I remember thinking it was suspiciously clear.
I will never forget the strange alien sounds of such massive beams, or presumably living light zipping around... nor the less alien sounds of catastrophic destruction, the explosions, the sounds of fire's so massive you could hear them from rings away, the ear-shattering boom of the towers falling.
Then my vision was erased as the Colossal tens of thousands of tons of Tower fell upon the western sector of the City, thankfully the opposite direction of myself... The last things I saw were the tower's actual impact, imagining it must have nearly wiped out the western districts. Then I saw the impossibly large wave of dust and debris being blown my way, the force of which tore into the tallest buildings along it's way, bringing them down as well and making me more glad than ever that I had one of the 'smallest' estates.
Then one of those colorful ribbon's swept over-head ahead of the wave of debris, seemingly overlooking my comparatively paltry estate, yet I felt something astounding as it passed overhead... It left this strange sense of 'fulfillment' behind before cleaving right through the taller structures around me... It was silly, but I wondered if it was 'fighting for the little guys', if it recognized I had tried to and acted to prevent me being wiped away like the rest.
Then my vision flickered horribly with the holographic displays, as did the rest of me, my right arm began fidgeting uncontrollably... then I blacked out shortly after.
From the Interest Check
Progress was trucking right along... or, at least what had been defined as progress by those who held all the power. It was far from perfect, it was far from safe, and it's purpose was undeniably profit over people... But damn if it wasn't still a history of amazing achievements, even if it had devolved into a contest of who could be the better criminal businessman without getting caught.
It started way back when endless dirty schemes led to the Corporations becoming too powerful to challenge, and claiming the world's governments for themselves... ohhh, pockets of resistance will always exist, there's simply too much 'world' for them to hope to control willingly, though this isn't exactly relevant. Under the monopolistic demand for 'the next profitable thing' and without government over-sight to regulate it's development technology boomed, both wondrous things that made life a little more amazing, and horrible mistakes, some of which we were lucky if the only result was a handful of dead people.
Of course we never delved into the depths of Artificial intelligence, one of few things that strictly regulated... afterall, the Corps didn't want anything to have the possibility of challenging them, and even they heard all the horror stories.
More importantly though, this period brought with it incredible advancements, sometimes horrible or oppressive, but truly incredible. I-phones became tablets, then merged into Hand-held PCs, then gained projection screens, then touch screen holograms, eventually becoming 'personal assistant projection suites' and the like, mere chips under the skin that would respond to mental impulse to project the screen and let people interact with them, though mental 'control' of these system was only possible with the simplest programs, other's still required physical contact with the hologram... though physical computers still had vastly superior processing power, and the 'best new thing' was always so expensive that either only the rich and elite had it, or those who stole the technology and supplied it to the 'criminal element'
Medical science exploded, allowing life-spans to be extended, of course only in ways that required frequent payments to keep it working and clearly favored, again, the rich and elite, still, from new but familiar chemical and physical 'solutions' for all manner of illnesses, to clone farms pumping out organs by the truck-load, to regrowing/attaching lost limbs, and of course engineering 'superior limbs' to replace the originals... you know, mechanical augmentations ranging from simple replacements to full body modifications and even walking arsenals... well that got out of hand fast, but thems the breaks! Naturally, there's a full array of 'criminalistic counterparts' for every corporate owned business.
... you know what, this is taking too long, and i'm sure you get the idea. roads became massive spider-web networks of automated vehicles, cities became monoliths surrounded by seas of smaller buildings wrapped in countless roads, 'airborne' cities even became a thing! Borderline indefinite lifespans became 'possible', weaponry became more 'awesome' yet always designed with limits in mind that kept them at a level where it would be insufficient to over-come the corporate overlords, unintelligent robots became common... There was always something new being advanced, some new 'upgrade' that was needed, some new report about criminals somehow getting their hands on the newest thing without corporate will...
Oh hey, speaking of that-
As is typical with those who have too much power and an endless lust for more, the corporate leaders always tried to drag themselves one step higher, one step closer to so called god-hood, and one step deeper into control of those beneath them... Enter the Solaris project.
Nobody has any clue what was actually done to make it possible, much like many of the brand newest things the Corporations threw trillions of dollars at to bring into existence, at least until some criminals dig up the truth about it.
They did know that one day it was announced that the United Corporate Empire [UCE] had taken successfully devised a method to control the 'sun'!... and they would all now have to pay for solar hours... Naturally, there was an up-roar about once again going much much too far beyond the scope of reasonable advancement or power, and once again there was an explosion of 'arrests based on suspicions of terrorism', followed by countless being released back to the public but much 'quieter'. It wasn't even known if it was true, and legions of conspiracy theories arose about it ranging from a reverse dyson sphere being constructed to imitate the sun, to a false sun and sky being projected into the atmosphere, to even creating their own miniature sun.
The only real 'certainty' was that whatever they were doing was causing a great golden beam of light aimed up into the sky, so who knew!...
Until short-lived legend of the 'Sunjacker' heist.
They hadn't been claiming control for even a whole month before the supposed facility storing the Solaris Project was raided... No, not by an army of angry civilians armed to the teeth, but just a little crew of apparently very amazing thieves who'd pre-emptively boasting 'stealing the sun', and somehow pulled off the grandest heist against the greatest security measures that could be mustered, without so much as a nick... Once more, nobody knows 'how', but it was followed by a message broadcast across the world-net 'We control the sun now.'
They didn't actually do anything with it though, and seemingly dropped off the radar as if they'd never existed... oddly though, the Solaris facility's beam of light turned blue, and still glows to this day.
Barely a week later the corporations announced that they had simply made another way to control the sun... And that's when the world exploded!
Well... not literally, since we're still here, but something happened. maybe something went wrong with their next attempt, or someone decided they'd had enough and unleashed some kind of catastrophe, or perhaps it was just a natural disaster of tremendous proportions caused by all the tampering that leveled... well, everything.
Whatever was the source, something swept across the surface of the planet unleashing destruction and chaos with unerring completeness. Great beams of light and explosions in one city, Ribbons of color cleaving the cloud-splitters from their foundations, a grand old eruption in another... It seemed less a singular catastrophe and more a string of hundreds of different ones, either from something unrestrained or perhaps simply a chain reaction of one over-bearing system after another going critical.
What followed though is the 'most' important detail for us, because it's what we face as the survivors.
The great cities of the world lay in ruin... relatively speaking... It seemed as though the destruction depending on the size of something, the towering cloud-splitters were scattered in pieces over the cities around them, or the aerial cities crashed down, yet aside from the monstrous tonnage crashing down on them and whatever side-effects followed, most smaller structures stayed intact. Large under-ground structures were not spared either, caved in or erupted into... Nor was the absolutely titanic world-net, though none know if the central facility is intact or not, it stopped functioning either way. Flying things crashed, the aerial cities plummeted, and even the satellites in orbit came crashing down... though no-one knows what happened to the stations up there.
Perhaps biggest of all, the corporations have stopped broad-casting, silence reigns as if they've simply ceased to exist... though that is of course another mystery.
While the 'massive' systems of the world were crushed in some manner or another, the smaller one's remained intact. Many vehicles were still perfectly intact, even flying ones, though those in the air during the event invariably crashed. Even smaller factory's tended to remain intact!... provided something didn't fall on it or happen to blow up nearby. While not able to reach too far, communication remained possible through the various smaller devices that got by intact... and these told a greater story between the people able to communicate with eachother.
In the wake of the destruction came change... broad, wild, and chaotic in nature, there seemed to be no defined system guiding it, as if something had been unleashed and just left to do whatever came naturally.
Whatever this event had been 'changed' people as it came to a close. Countless humans became... some other creature, sometimes some form of fantastical beast from legend, other times a seamless synthetic life-form. Some may become griffons, or simply a humanoid with great magical intensity. Some might become strange little magical equines where other's could have been turned into a great and terrible dragon. Some even became things that history had no words for...
Unfortunately, there were a great deal of failures that accompanied these changes. Great swaths of people for some unknown reason simply keeled over and 'rose again' as mindless husks wandering the world and following hungry instincts. Other's had mutated in some horrific manner that either broke them and drove them to madness, or directly ruined their brain and left only some twisted monster in it's wake... Other unfortunate 'could have been' successes had risky implants that were incompatible with their new body... afterall, a cybernetic brain case doesn't meld so well to the wrong kind of head. Most of those at least died quickly, while other's lucked out with their incompatible parts simply being inconvenient rather than fatal.
There was however a smattering of communication from people who'd been over-looked, who were still 'normal' humans... not precisely 'rare' per se, but now no longer the majority 'top predator' as the species had once been.
The Reign of Mankind seemed to be at it's end, and in it's place was a whole new world waiting to be tamed.
New Ark Metropolis
Gray: Factory District Brown: Slums Hot Pink: Party District ;3 Green: Middle Class Residential and Business Red: Security District Gold: Big Market District Light Blue: High Class District Black: Corporate Towers
Why is it called 'New' ark one might wonder?... well, it's not exactly 'hidden' information, just downplayed. The original Ark city was eradicated in some unfortunate massive terrorist attack nearly a century ago... At least, that's what the corporations say, but most other people will tell you it's because the Corporations fucked up some experiment of theirs and blew the city to bits.
New ark is actually built upon a massive Miles wide crater left over from that event, covering the entire thing and packed to the brim above and below with supports and reinforcements, the city looks more like a 'mountain' of construction with every ring built on a slightly higher tier than the previous one. The crater below the surface of the city is filled with endless artificial construction designed to hold the entire city upright, mixed with networks of subways both abandoned and not, as well as the 'ultra slums' as the Corporate types will call it, where those who can't even manage the Slumming District will reside, digging for scraps from old Ark City, subsisting on molds and fungus or whatever grows underground, and generally living just the 'worst' kind of lives!... more corporate opinion, but who knows what the truth is, it's probably criminal territory, but most people don't dare go down there to find out, as beneath it also reside vast networks of corporate transport tunnels, heavily guarded by automated security as likely to mistake a mere 'rat' for an intruder as a person.
Anyway! Back to the surface!
The Outer Ring, Grey, The Factory District.
The Factory District, almost entirely a single monumentally massive building of it's own that surrounds the entirety of the massive city, both forming an oppressive wall around the slums outer edges, only out done by the 'actual' wall around the factory district that was even higher, As well as forming a peerless 'sea' of factory structure, exhaust tubes, pipes, stone and metal, above and below the surface of the city, split only by the massive primary roads leading in and out of New Ark.
The Factory District is, predictably, responsible for nearly the entirety of the City's actual mass production, vastly over-shadowing the production power of even the most impressive 'on site' factories of both the syndicates and the corporations themselves... It also produces an endless ocean of fog that sickens the air of the Slums.
The Second Ring, Brown, The Slums District
What can be said about the slums... they're shit...
I suppose I should elaborate... They're shit compared to everywhere else... It's a living, a very basic one, car, living space, job, weekly mugging, endless hours slaving away for the profit of the Corporate overlords... It's a shitty place to live, but it's better than trying to safely leave through the factory district to even just live in the wild.

that said, if you know where to look, the shitty low class exteriors might be hiding something more interesting... Many smaller gangs make their hide-outs in the slums where security is the most lax and the Syndicates don't keep too much of an iron grip. Similar for lone or smaller hacker groups. Maybe if you're really lucky you'll stumble across an abandoned one with lots of loot you can snag.
Of course the Syndicates 'have' areas there under their control, there's no ring they don't have 'something', the slums are just normally used for things that call for an excess of space and low corporate security, such as concealed factories and warehouses.
The third Ring, Pink, The Party district
the Party district, the talk of the town, the backyard Las Vegas, the den of debauchery and hedonism that 'everyone' in the city is eager to spend a little time in now and then. Just about the only place where one's status means absolutely 'shit', nobody gets a free ride without 'special' connections, and those are 'not' corporate connections.
The Party District is home to the Syndicates actual Headquarters, usually separated by North, South, East, and West, they're all working together. Everything from Micro factories to armories, Drug dens to gaming houses, Brothers to Fantasy hollows, Renta Hookers to Pony Sex bots... If someone can imagine it, no matter how freaky, it can be found 'somewhere' in the Party district... and is also a front for the Syndicate's countless operations, though it's usually at least organized so that the most 'strange' something is, the more private of an area one would have to be in to stumble upon it.
That said, you will 'not' be mugged in the Party district. The syndicate is very serious about local security and it's well known that even the littlest unsanctioned criminal tends to 'disappear' mysteriously when they don't play nice.
The fourth Ring, Green, The Middle Class District
The fourth ring is just like it sounds, it's where the middle-class citizens live, the one's who've got more money available than the slum-bugs and usually some kind of position above 'expendable plebe'.
It's also where the middle-class private businesses are centered, scattered around the ring are countless tens of thousands of smaller businesses just barely staying useful enough to the Corporations not to crush or buy out.
It's also right on the border of the Security district, so predictably Syndicate presence is much less voluminous, though it 'is' there, it is generally deep underground and very well hidden.
The fifth Ring, Red, The Security district
Also sometimes referred to as the militarized ring, this is where the vast array of the Corporation's military might resides, waiting to unleash swarms of enforcers, security drones, or any number of other tools to try and catch the various threats against corporate interests. It's also where the Corporations usually store 'important stuff' with the highest of security requirements.
The only time Syndicate interests ever move in this district other than to pass through to the market district if when there's an inside deal going down... or a long-planned raid on some well guarded facility.
This district was clearly designed with the idea of numerous intimidating and heavily armed towers over-watching the entirety of the city, and with the rapid release of whole armies in mind.

The sixth Ring, Gold, The Market district
Once more, the name says it all, this is where the vast majority of the city's marketing transactions take place. Everything from high quality drug deals to military vehicle purchases, clothing stores to designer augments, quality holo-PCs to real estate... It is the only ring in which the Syndicate 'behaves itself', because of the sheer volume of security that surrounds the market district and the intensity with which the corporations protect their interests... this also makes it a very safe place to be unless you're a known enemy of the Corporations.
The seventh and Eighth Rings, Cyan and Black, The High class District and Corporate Center
The most exclusive portion of the city, predictably the center. If you're in this area, you're one of the maybe Ten Thousand non corporate people who can claim to actually be 'rich' in this city, or you're working for one of them. The corporate's themselves reside in the very center, in the quartet of massive towers reaching clean up to the clouds, surrounded by open easily covered space around their bases... There's little to say about them outside their oppressively tremendous size and seeming impenetrability, though infiltration still happen rarely.
surrounding this center is the ring filled with the private residences or businesses of actual 'Rich' Individuals, every building belongs to a single person there, and anyone else there either works for one of them or is buying from one of them... or, you know, is a friend of one. The size of the building's varies greatly dependent on the owner's wealth and preference for ostentatiousness. Nearly every one will have impressive private security and
Technology Examples
They come in a variety of quality.
Lower quality Holo PCs are usually external, only project a screen, and have an installation plug, or wireless port, to connect keyboards and other peripheries in order to operate them... they also have a habit of getting kindof hot when operating complex programs and have little electro magnetic protection...... there's also a high chance of being stolen suddenly.
Middle-ground Holos are implanted and provide a projected screen as normal, but now there's a plug in 'you' for the peripheries, though they are more efficiently refined and shielded because now it's inside of a valuable human resource that needs it's brain to not melt from overheating. They also feature basic neural interaction and 'internal' sound projection.
A real high quality Holo PC has been refined to a point of being a mere ship implanted into your brain with tiny wireless receptors installed in your finger tips, allowing you to operate a fully holographic interface with no physical peripheries Necessary. previous new features have been refined so that some features can be handled purely with neural impulses, also known as thoughts, though most complex programs don't function so well with this method yet and still require physical input, though it's not uncommon to see powerful people casually playing simple games with just their minds... it's usually sign of someone with high influence either in the corporation, among the elite, or in the syndicates. These are also thoroughly shielded and only likely to over-heat if severely over-loaded, something where it's more likely the human around it is already dead.
Corporate tier Holo PCs naturally have the absolute newest tech, though they are functionally similar to mere high quality, just refined, a few more functions can be handled neurologically, they run even smoother, have improved shielding... Basically and MK.2 model.
Syndicate Neural Hacker Suite Holo PCs are a different matter though, while still functionally similar to high quality, they are designed to maximize the neural interaction and allow their users to remotely interact with all kinds of electronic devices, provided a connection can be established and maintained, even better with physical input included... It's also kinda cool watching them touching air to hack things.
The first thing many would think about when hearing about Magnetic applications, is weaponry.
EMPs, Electromagnetic discharge weaponry, Magnetic rail weaponry, hyper magnetic singularity grenades... so on and so forth, we can all kind of imagine where this goes.
However, there are other applications that have been used, such as Electromagnetic elevators that either raise a platform, or in some places just push a person's individual magnetic field up or down.
Magnetic rails in roads allow compatible vehicles to be propelled along at extreme speeds, not unlike trains that use similar methods, at minimal actual cost to fuel or batteries.
Magnetized Construction Blueprints, a specialized magnetic projection field that allows an arrangement of materials to simply be dragged into position to form a structure of some form or another... minimally effective when 'only' magnetized, but it makes it easy as pie to put it all together manually while it's floating there.
Oh I could go on for hours about the possibilities here... I won't though.
Augmentation has broadened from mere prosthetics, though those have become very simple to do, from things such as improved organ replacements, to weaponized augments, to various experimental currently one of a kind custom systems.... You need only apply your imagination.

I am really, really, REAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY sorry about how big it is. Because my character is coming from another world, I had to write a whole bunch of fluff. Nothing has really changed from what I originally pitched to you, it's just a lot more fleshed out. My posts will not be anywhere near this size, so don't worry about me whacking everyone with an essay every time my character does something.
Briefly summed up though, here's what we have:
Fiirnmir was a powerful mage, the greatest of his day. His world Agros exists in a different reality or material plain than New Ark. He upset some Gods, they did something, he over powered them, became ruler of the world for thousands of years and was busy working on a pet project when Agros starts getting torn apart. He finds the source of the catastrophe to be New Ark, and travels there. He is initially powerful enough to stop it all, and maybe even reverse it.
But then he'll bump into a robot at the RP's start, and his dance cards get drastically rearranged.

Former Species: High Elf of the world known as Agros.

Appearance: Fiirnmir is a High Elf of Agros, and as such, is an image of beauty and perfection. His skin appears as unnaturally pale, yet unblemished and smooth. No birthmarks, freckles or moles mark his flesh, and nor would one find any signs of age or weariness in his features. Those who look upon him would do so with an unconscious admiration of his image, though it would be paired equally with unease.
He is of a lithe build, with toned - though not bulging - muscles. Certainly, he falls more into the athletic spectrum than any other, yet there is an unnerving about his apparent bone and muscular structure. Everything is too well proportioned, too symmetrical, as if he is more the creation of an impassioned and very precise engineer, than a product of a nature.
Long golden hair crowns his head, running its way down across his back in an immaculately brushed river. His head is narrower than one would expect of a human, and yet it is longer, giving him a prominent brow that borders on giving his hair a receding appearance. The whites of his eyes are of a bright yellow, and his pupils are an icy blue, and this can appear particularly menacing to someone to familiar with his kind. No lines mar his face however, nor any stubble. He appears youthful, but a time wizened gaze hints at a weariness that has accumulated over the course of several millennia. His ears are pointed, and share a perfect symmetry, but they are not much larger than those of an average human.
He wears an assortment of brightly coloured robes and other loose and voluminous garments, and a golden crown embedded with flawless gemstones sits upon his head. A gnarled wooden staff, six feet in length and headed by a large green crystal will be seen clenched in his hands at all times.
New Species: Fiirnmir the Broken // ED #708 Height: 5'8 lbs Weight: 210 lbs Appearance: This is not Fiirnmir's state at the initial start of the RP, but will quickly become so after I have established his introduction to the story.
Fiirnmir's melding with a synthetic being has left his appearance a mockery of his former self. He is now an unnatural entity; flesh has melded with metal in the most gruesome way possible. Spliced down the middle between man and machine, his body has become a walking abomination.
ED #708 was a humanoid-shaped security android, programmed to maintain peace and order. As such, Fiirnmir's left side appears as a darkened metal endoskeleton - more or less in the style of a normal human skeleton, yet bulked up by circuitry, projectile resistant plating, wiring, motors and electrohubs. ED #708's face is likewise skeletal in nature, and projects a constant menacing half smile complete with a set of aluminium teeth. ED #708's remaining eye changes between a constant red glow when acting hostile or aggressive, and green when it is being passive.
Fiirnmir's right half however, is more grotesque and terrifying than the metal skeleton it has attached to. His flesh is reddened and inflamed where it meets the metal, and has overgrown its bounds in places to cover exposed gaps left over from the melding. His formerly pale skin has taken on a sickly greyish tone, and his eye has dulled to a complete blackness. His hair, or what remains of it, has turned an icy white, and his mouth is caught in a permanent grimace where it has unevenly joined with the jaw of ED #708.
To cover the extent of his horror, Fiirnmir has taken to wearing a large and heavy brown cloak, taken from the corpse of a slum dweller. This item of clothing obscures most of him from view, though his mutilated face and ED #708's glowing eye is an ever present feature to onlookers.
Personality: Initially, wise, compassionate and selfless yet troubled. Later... Fiirnmir's sanity, knowledge and ability to reason may become severely compromised.
Location: Fiirnmir starts at the city's centre, where he has just arrived. There at the heart of the catastrophe, he hopes to prevent the world from falling to ruin. However, I quickly intend for him to relocate to the slum district, which will be shortly after his melding.
Status: Starts in his High Elf form. ED #708 will join the party shortly.
Secrets:
1) Has two daughters. 2) Wife was slain by Mortus, the Lord of Death back on his home world after he questioned the Pantheon's sovereignty over Agros. Though not content to merely let her soul traverse the "Eternal Plain", Mortus put her into a realm of suffering and fire so that she would be tormented for all of time and beyond. This is not something Fiirnmir was able to reverse, and it haunts him greatly. 3) Destroyed the Lord of Death, earning the unofficial title of Fiirnmir Godslayer. Clashed with others Gods shortly after, and drove from the Agros. 4) The victory over Mortus is the reason the High Elves do not age. 5) His world is being torn apart by the same catastrophe that is affecting New Ark. 6) He arrived to stop the catastrophe. 7) In his original form he has the power to reverse the damage, and undo the cooperations' hubris. 8) He is the guardian of Agros, as well as its High King; he is more or less the emperor of an entirely united world. No other High Elf came close to his original power and prestige. 9) His "living" half after the melding, is kept alive by using 90% of his magical reserves, greatly reducing his potency as a Mage. This will not be immediately apparent to someone not familiar with magic. If he uses more magic than he can afford to spare, he will simply die.
I'm stating the above, because after the melding he may not remember most of it (losing half his brain). Other characters though may be able to help him remember by asking the right questions. If at the some point the players wish to save the world somewhat, him remembering everything might play a pivotal role in that potential story line. Also, his knowledge of magic, and by extension his ability to teach it, might be something else other players want to explore.
Assets: Fiirnmir is the greatest Mage that ever lived on Agros. He is the envy of his peers, and beloved across the entire planet as a benevolent and mighty ruler. His knowledge of the arcane is vast, and his power in his original form put him on a level playing field with the very Gods that created him. Any other characters wishing to excel in magic, should seek him out if they wish to enhance their powers.
However, after his melding, the following will apply from ED #708's half.
1) System Diagnostics - ED #708 is able to quick fix damage to his half of the body via re-routing power and shutting down non-essential systems to prop up the more essential. This does not extend to Fiirnmir's half.
2) Connection to Host Server - Though communications to corporate headquarters are down, he periodically makes contact that lasts a few seconds, allowing ED to access bits and pieces of information. Probably useless, but may come in handy.
3) Android Strength - ED's half of the body is built for battle, and as such posseses great strength. He can upend a car, or pull open a reinforced door if given enough time. Also, if he punches someone, it's unlikely their skull will survive the impact.
4) LR-17 Photon-Cannon - ED's arm can transform into a photon-cannon, which is a standard weapon for an android of his type. It takes approximately ten seconds to charge, and can hold that charge for a further ten seconds before he either has to shoot it or deactivate it. The resulting impact causes a blue explosion, on the scale of an RPG or hand grenade. Using the weapon draws power however, and he can only use it a finite amount of times before having to recharge his on-board munitions battery.
5) 4th Generation WarCo CPU - ED's CPU is a self contained super computer, the size of an apple. It is immensely powerful, enabling him to analyse situations through explicit use of mathematics. As such he is able to make tactical predictions and hazard assessments with decent accuracy.
6) EyeScan 3000 Series - ED's eye can scan a variety of things, and gain information. These range from sky formations, terrain and biological entities. However, as the world is changing so rapidly, there is much ED's CPU will not be able to understand.
Possessions:
1) The Star Crown of Agros - a magically enchanted artefact, forged from the bones of Mortus, the Lord of Death. It is able to amplify Fiirnmir's powers, granting him immense magical strength. It is said that whilst wearing it, he is greater than any of the Gods and could crush them easily - though this is something that was never tested. After the melding with ED #708, it not only becomes broken, it also becomes lost. Another character may find a broken shard or section of it, and the results of which can be discussed with me. Obviously anything I say will be subject to the GM's approval.
Equipment:
1) The Staff of the High-born. A gnarled length of wood, approximately six feet in length and headed by a large green gemstone. With it, Fiirnmir is able to focus and channel his energy, enabling him to achieve mighty magical feats. Dangerous in the wrong hands however, and will consume those who are not familiar with magic. It is said the green gemstone was Mortus' left eye, though this is only known by Fiirnmir himself. Like the crown, it too will become broken and lost after the melding. Leaving the possibility for another character to locate the gemstone. Again, seek me out before you do that, so I can tell you what might happen depending on the scenario involved. Obviously anything I say will be subject to the GM's approval.

What foolishness. What hubris! You were their most humble servant, their most steadfast supporter - their most loyal soldier.
What madness possessed you? Why did you do this? Can you not see what they do to me?
No. But you can hear!
Fiirnmir, High King of the High Elves. Godslayer, and bane of Mortus. Life giver, and Master of Time Eternal. Mighty titles, bestowed upon a mighty being.
In his early life, he was one of those fortunate to be gifted in the arts of the arcane. He had great teachers, and a passion for learning all that he could. His powers adulterated quickly, and before he was even a man, he was surpassing those around him by many leagues. He was pious too, as was the way of his peoples, and he paid appropriate homage to the Pantheon. Yet he was damnably a thinking Elf, and in a land of Gods, thinking Elves were always a sore fit.
He married the daughter of his father's rival House, and though the marriage was not initially agreeable to either, they went on to have two daughters. However Fiirnmir was not really much in the way of family, and he neglected them for many years in favour of pursuing his arcane studies. And it was such pursuits that put his life into a collision course with destiny.
Through his research, he was able to gleam hints and snippets of how the Gods came to be. He came to understand that like he, their lives too were finite, and that though time left them be, they could be killed like any other being - if one knew how. This brought further questions to his conciousness, and he clashed with the greatest minds of the day over a God's unchallenged right to rule over creatures they wrongly thought to be inferior, merely because they had created them.
Such clashes of intellects led to his banishment from the learning centres of Agros, and he returned to his family a somewhat broken man. Scorned by a wife who had always hated him for putting her and his children second to his research, and outcast from the community that he had known all of his adult life, Fiirnmir began to curse. Indeed, he cursed aloud, for days and nights, and he challenged the Gods to battle over the right to rule Agros.
They were foolish words. They the words of mortal being, who could not contemplate their own actions in a sea far bigger than their own pond. They should have been ignored, but Mortus, the Lord of Death, took an exception to the constant barrage of insults from this lowly mortal mage.
Mortus appeared in a flash of lightning and fire, and for seven days he battered the world of the Elves, until finally he appeared in the flesh, before the dishevelled and raging form of Fiirnmir. The Elf was initially terrified, realising his folly instantly, and he begged Mortus for forgiveness.
Mortus did not heed the words of mortals, though. He was their End, their Keeper, and he had been offended. He lifted a hand, explained to Fiirnmir that his soul was about to spend an eternity in suffering and fire, and then uttered the words that would haunt the Elf for the entirety of his life.
Una. Maxis. Expelum.
A spear of potent arcane energy burst from Mortus' exposed palm, and shot towards Fiirnmir. Before the Elf could react however, his wife who had always hated him, always scorned him, inexplicably threw herself into the path of the Godly magic. She exploded there and then, leaving behind cinders.
Her screams started in Fiirnmir's mind instantly. They were horrible sounds, full of an indiscernible pain, of a rage and madness the Elf's ears had never been graced with. The dark form of Mortus merely smiled, and heckled the stunned Elf, who could do no more than claw at his ears in a vain attempt to cease his wife's ethereal screams of pain.
Mortus cackled as he explained the fate of Fiirnmir's wife, but reassured the Elf that he would soon be joining her. It was at these words that Fiirnmir found his metal, and put a life time of arcane research to the ultimate test. He prepared himself to fight a God, the first Elf to do so in living memory. At first Mortus laughed, but when Fiirnmir sent a searing bolt of lightning at him, far greater than a mortal should have been able to conjure, he sobered immediately.
And so the two clash. A mortal and a God, toe-to-toe, in a battle of magic that tore apart the land and left the great Houses of Agros in ruins. The other Gods watched on from the Pantheon, unsure whether to intervene, or whether to let Mortus handle the matter on his own. He was a proud God after all, and he didn't take kindly to the other Gods meddling in his affairs.
For twenty days and twenty nights they fought, until finally Fiirnmir's rage allowed him to over power Mortus, and he cast the Lord of Death aside; broken and dying, Mortus could only stare up at his brothers and sisters at the Pantheon in a mixture of wonder and shame, as they stared back in horror.
Using Mortus' remains to fashion God-killing weapons, Fiirnmir wasted no time in challenging the Gods directly. Having been shown their own mortality, they were unwilling to face him in battle; they were, despite their powers of creation and mastery of the elements, cowards to the last one. Fiirnmir chased them away, and banished them from Agros.
And so Fiirnmir became a God himself, though in name only. He disbanded the ancient Elven Houses, established himself as leader of the Elves, and led them as their King. There were troubles of course, and not everyone accepted his rule, but as it turned out, Mortus' death had ended the ravages of time affecting the High Elven people. The elderly became young, and the young ceased to age at adulthood. Natural deaths were no longer a thing, and Fiirnmir had all the time in the world to forge the path of his peoples.
And so for twenty thousand years Agros prospered. Cities so great and magnificent dotted the landscape, and the Elves multiplied into billions. Fiirnmir for his part continued his arcane studies, and yearned to find a way to break his wife free from her eternal prison, that she may yet find peace in whatever remained of the afterlife. But as time wore on, it became clear to him that Mortus' work had been pristine and nearly impossible to undo. Even with a limitless lifespan, Fiirnmir began to consider that he may never find a way to cease his wife's torment.
He was getting close though, making progress, and he may yet have achieved his goal if Agros was not assailed by a catastrophe. The world was placed under siege by a force unseen; her landscape split and ruined by volcanoes, her skies sundered by storm and blizzard, and her seas bloated with the turbulence of a power untamed. Entire continents began to drown, and Agros' many cities, so wondrous as they were, crumbled to the ground. Millions died in the first seconds, and many many more were set to follow.
Fearing the Gods had returned, Fiirnmir ascended to the Cosmos to do battle with them. It would end here he decided; either the Elves would be masters of their fate, or the Gods would have the world back again. Though as he crested the sky and the stars, he found no Gods. Just an empty void.
Scanning the endless void for a sign of the disturbance, he found that the trouble was stemming from a different plain entirely to his own. Had he not being working to rescue his wife from her prison, he may never have realised the patterns that told him this, but there they were, clear as day.
Someone else's catastrophe was threatening to undo everything he had worked to achieve. And so he tapped into the source of this cataclysm, found its location, and stepped forwards to put an end to it before it put an end to everything he knew and loved.
I have some great ideas coming to me for my character. Including some sweet secrets which I will only be sharing with our illustrious GM to start with.

Well, mine isn't starting in the corporate district, but he's pretty close xD in the high class district right outside of it, but he's gonna be pretty quick on getting the hell away from the city center. xD

Name: Roxanne Roth Apparent Age: 17 Actual Age: 17 Height: 1.4 meters meters Weight: 51 kg Former Species: Human
New Species: Tiefling probably Height: 2 meters Weight: 80 kg
She has a pair of extremely extended arms that end up covered in a stonelike carapace, these limbs are incredibly strong but have relatively poor dexterity, this is compared with the smaller set which are quick and nimble yet have little strength at all. She has a long armored tail and birdlike legs that end in vicious talons. A ring of spiky horns radiate around her neck, serving no initial purpose but may be a channel for magic if she learns any.
Personality: She is energetic, rebellious and full of that assurance that she will live forever that only the young have. She is an almost compulsive liar, generally trying to avoid giving away any info about herself or her nefarious activities.
Location: East party district near Club Nova, located close to the edge of the slums Status: Punk Teen, Courier, Red Sun Gang Member
Secrets: Unless you're in the know about the underworld, you don’t need to know she’s in a gang. Addicted to Rush, a drug that massively heightens alertness and reaction times. She’s killed someone before.
Assets: Club Nova, her boss’s headquarters, is a den of debauchery and filled with all kinds of thing you need to run a gang. Various small hideouts in the eastern slums. In fact she knows the east slums like the back of her hand, having been a gang's courier she's brought illegal goods to basically every criminal group that operates there. Good deal of underworld connections via other teens in their organisations. She’s not going to get you into the syndicate or anything, but if you need drugs, guns, explosives or hackers she could have probably found you them before everything fell apart.
Possessions:
A tank tread based bike she stole once, capable of crossing rough terrain and slippery hazards withe ease. As an almost entirely mechanical system this should be capable of running even after the EPM. as a thief she know exactly how to lock this thing up so that someone else doesn’t steal it off her. It was a bit big for her, now it’s a bit small.
Wallet with some Cash, a Fake ID etc. A nice hat.
Equipment: Easily concealable Handgun Headset for long and short ranged communications Rush pills, that increase her reaction times for an hour. Coming down from these leaves her feeling groggy and sluggish. Small risk of heart attack. Neckerchief used for identity concealment(a little pointless now) and it makes a poorly improvised air filter when necessary.
Story: She was born into one of the many many working poor families that are crammed into the slums like sardines in a can. While her parents busted their asses of working in the factory district for meager pay she was left mostly to her own devices and quickly fell in with the wrong crowd. As it so often does loitering, graffiti and shoplifting turn to much more dangerous affairs as the youths got picked up by the local gang.
There she learned how to steal without being caught, how to brawl and shoot, how to avoid unwanted attention and how to intimidate people. It’s also where she got hooked on Rush. At first she was just some kid in the gang, an extra pair of eyes and fists, but she started climbing the ranks with her tenacity, quick wit and hands. She’s one of those people who the boss actually knows by name even if she isn’t one of his inner circle.
Her proudest achievement was nicking this sweet ass bike by sneaking into the middle class district and breaking into a garage and then riding it back to the slums, all without anyone noticing till it was way too late. It was like a little syndicate heist, in their mind at least, her sneaking out, one friend keeping watch and a script kiddie they ‘asked’ to help disengaging the electronic security and cameras.
With her new ride she became something of a Courier and messenger, bringing the boss’s goods and words to where they were needed when phone lines and third party deliveries couldn't be trusted. She was out on one such excursion when the event hit.
She actually seems pretty cool so far >3> I dig her :D

I got bored and created a couple of NPCs that people might want to use/take ideas from. I have no intention on playing either, but if anyone wants an insta-NPC, here's ya ticket.
Also, the second guy, Ronald Rahner, might serve as a perfect antagonist to anyone looking to take on some NPCs. He's someone you wouldn't want to run into during the catastrophe.
Again, I have no interest in playing them, I was just exercising my creative muscle a little bit and thought I may as well share them.

Apparent Age: 40's Actual Age: 37 Former Species: Human Height: 6'1 Weight: 170 lbs Appearance: John was never what one might call a "looker", but this wasn't something that particularly bothered him. Fat, balding, and equipped with a pair of noodles for arms, he looks to be your typical male who is rapidly descending into the perils of middle age. A pair of thick framed glasses rest upon a bulbous nose, and his pale sun-shy skin seems to have a constant sweaty sheen to it.
His ill fitting suit trousers, that end a few inches too early, and his white shirt riddled with coffee and food stains, give further credence to the idea that John is someone who gave up on keeping appearances some time ago.
New Species: White Unicorn Height: 5'9 Weight: 1,800 lbs Appearance:
Personality: Easily excitable, extremely optimistic about himself and the world, despite its state. More interested in exploring his new found self, than caring about the mess going on around him.
Location: Galloping gleefully through the factory ring.
Status: Ecstatic Unicorn.

1) Loved unicorns since he was a boy. He decorated his room with pictures of them, and dressed up as one at every opportunity. 2) His aforementioned love of unicorns earned his father's scorn, to the point of domestic violence. 3) Hates his father. 4) Mother died in an industrial accident when he was 9. Went into state care, where he was brought up by an unfeeling system that educated and trained him to perform a mindless, soul destroying middle-management job. 5) Hates any and all forms of government or authority as a result.

1) Unicorn Horn - John's horn is magical (obviously!), but he doesn't know how to use it - or even that it is magical.
Most of John's adult life was spent listening to that sound; the noise time makes, when it gradually but inevitably passes you by as you waste your time on things that are of no relevance to your existence.
Trapped in an office, working a middle management position in a WarCo CPU factory, slumped over his desk as he fantasised about a life that did not so closely resemble Hell. No ambition, no future, and a past he'd rather not think too much about. There was no sweet heart on his arm, no children to greet him after his 16 hour shift, no real wealth with which he could numb himself. All he had really, was that sterile looking white clock on the wall of his office.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick.
But no tock.
John looked up at the clock, startled that something so familiar had stopped so suddenly. He immediately jumped to his feet, and walked the width of his office to take a closer look. A clock like John's, designed to kill people by lulling them into a life of mediocrity and despair, never stopped. It had, or so he thought, a nuclear battery after all. Yet there it was, it had stopped.
Suddenly his office door flew open, and in ran Director Hayward, John's direct superior. The man was terrified, babbling and sobbing about some unseen catastrophe. John didn't know what to make of it, but then he didn't have much time to give it any thought. There was a bright flash of searing white light, and the entire factory shook - all 50 floors of it.
And John felt different suddenly. He felt taller. He felt heavier. He felt strange, yet oddly, he also felt free. Director Hayward however, backed away from him, snot running from his nose and tears streaming down his face. He screamed, and hurried back through the door of John's office.
Turning and looking into the reflection of his office window, John could not quite believe what he was seeing - could not quite understand. At first he thought that perhaps he was hallucinating, but then he looked down at two magnificent white hooves - his hooves, and he laughed - no, he whinnied. Perhaps he was dreaming? Perhaps he was dead? It didn't matter. For the first time in John's life, he felt happy. So happy, that he turned towards his office door, knocking over the desk in the process, and galloped through it.
And then he continued to gallop, with no aim or pause for thought, as a childish giddiness took over what remained of his human sanity.
Name: Captain Ronald Rahner Apparent Age: 40's Actual Age: 45 Species: Human Height: 5'9 Weight: 150 lbs Appearance: Ronald is a military man, through and through. Sun darkened skin, a meticulously shaven head, muscled in all the places where it matters. He has brown eyes that seem to be permanently encircled by a frown, and a nose that shows signs of several breaks. Scars run across his cheeks, and his neck, and there are other signs of previous injuries dotted across his body.
However, most of time Ronald will be found wearing his WarCo Corporation security uniform.
Personality: Ronald is a grim and serious man, with little humour. He is cold and calculating, and sees himself as an answer to any problem. Definitely a "victory at any cost!" kind of soldier, and someone who isn't afraid of sacrificing others - and himself - for the greater good of the mission. In short, if you're not an asset to him, then you're an obstacle, and he has no qualms with removing obstacles regardless of their age, gender, political affiliation or combative status.
Location: The Security District.
Secrets:
1) Earned his promotion to Captain by assassinating the infant children of a former WarCo exec. 2) Has killed many Slum Dwellers during routine clean up operations, often going beyond what the situation has called for to do so. 3) Is infamous for ordering an artillery strike on a ten-thousand strong protest march in the Factory Ring, three years ago. Not many know that it was he who gave the go ahead to use heavy munitions, and someone else was framed and executed in his stead for the atrocity.
Assets:
1) Ronald has security clearance for many of the Security District's armouries and munitions depots.
Possessions:
The WarCo Third Generation IFV, or W3G for short, is an infantry fighting vehicle that hovers above the ground for maximum mobility in the tight streets of New Ark. Equipped with a 30mm kinetic energy cannon and two machine guns, it is a reliable and robust model used by a majority of WarCo's military contractors. Able to carry a squad of 8 soldiers, plus 3 crew, it is an asset to any modern mechanised force.
Crafted from specially tempered alloys, it can take a heavy beating before being put out of action - unless someone is able to get lucky enough to strike it in the rear, where the fusion powered gravity generators are located.
WarCo's military contractors are some of the best on the market; battle hardened, well paid and well motivated, they form the core of a crack team of professionals. Conditioned to the point of having little regard for morals or the rules of war, they will carry out any mission regardless of the political, social or moral consequences. Those who have not been affected by the on going crisis, have been rounded up by Ronald, and they usually accompany him at all times in his W3G.

Story:
"This is Blue Bishop. Solaris has gone critical."
"Say again, over."
"Solaris has gone critical, Captain. Do you understand what I am telling you?"
"Affirmative. What are my orders?"
"Maintain city-wide law and order, at any and all costs, Captain. We will get the Solaris Project back under control, but until then, we need you and your men out there to keep the people from getting... too excited. I have already explained the situation to your superiors at WarCo, and they have given me full authority over yourself and your men for the duration of this crisis."
"Understood. What are my operational parameters?"

At last! I edited the last little bits of the OOC post and added a couple technology examples, and I shall drop my CS so people can mercilessly judge it!... and I shall be making the first post tonight, within a couple of hours I'd say. There's no hurry for eveyrone else yet, but I'm hoping everyone who 'can' [since there's 2 who've expressed delays happening] will have a CS done before the weekend's over, and if it hasn't already been done over the weekend, everyone's first posts on monday.

Handsome was one of those words I heard quite often, at least from the upper class ladies, and some men... Hot, sexy, and 'i'd spank that' were the more common from my preffered collegues.
I was tall, good looking, rich... firmly on the higher end of the range of desirability in this painfully vain world we live in. Even after I'd lost an arm and had to get a hunk of metal to replace it I was still hounded almost constantly by cheap suitors wanting to get in on the money of any available bachelor.
You might notice I haven't gone into detail about my appearance... that's because of my dermal implants. I'm certainly not the only one using a suite of holographic projectors to change my appearance on a whim, but I am among the few that uses them to alter my 'entire' appearance... I happen to enjoy my alone time without everyone recognizing me.
... Of course, it also helps that It's incredibly useful for my more clandestine activities, and for not getting caught... I call it my 'Fashion Assassin Suite', heheh... shut up, it's clever!

I couldn't believe it myself... ontop of all the shit going on in the city, the sirens, alarms, the explosions... I wake up to find out I was turned into some freaky dark horse thing! I think old myths called it something like a 'thestral', some kind of carnivorous bat-horse monster with a skeletal face, though I don't think they had horns... Thank god I don't look as hideous as those images, but I desperately need to find some goggles big enough to cover these bigass eyes or i'll just get all kinds of shit in them.
Now if i'm being entirely serious, I could still call myself kindof 'tall, dark, and handsome'... in a sense of 'handsome for some kind of disproportionate bat-horse thing'. If it weren't for the 'horse' part I'd almost think I was trying out for a part in one of those 'attractive vampire movies'. As it was I was all dark gray fur, with ironically purple hair and eyes... ironic, because despite my name being Indigo, I used to have white hair naturally.
Of coure, I have no idea how this body normally works, and come to find out whatever changed me only changed the fleshy bits... Can you guess how awkward it is to walk with three horse legs and one mechanical human arm? VERY awkward... It's uncomfortable too, my old arm is just a little bit too thin for this horse shoulder and it pinches when I move too quickly. I suppose I'm lucky that my brain and dermal implants were small enough that they stayed intact when I changed, without horribly warping my flesh around them... they still worked too, so somehow my brain implants must've stayed in the same place.
Personality: He puts himself off as a playful partyboy, never taking anything seriously, throwing money at whatever he wants... a pretty but bumbling fool among the elite, easily manipulated, easily controlled... He loves when people underestimate him, but also finds it to be a simple pleasure to 'act the fool' and try to be entertaining... It might also have something to do with a deep hunger for companionship that he doesn't normally get.
In reality he's sharp and calculating, older than he looks and experienced in interacting with those who have power, elites, corporates, security... criminals... Especially criminals. He's very careful and experienced at covering up his more suspicious connections and relishes in having numerous options for sources to work with.

Syndicated Omnious Co. Generation 3rd Verson 32 Holoprojection Personal Computer Implant - Neural Hacking Suite Augmenated
As a Syndicate corporate infiltrator it's only natural that he'd be provided with the best technology they could possibly offer, even if sufficient failure would have resulted in that technology being... 'revoked', probably fatally, The investment was made quite often in those who'd successfully dragged their way into positions of power.
The Base functionalities of an Omnious 3rd Generation were among the most broad, as one of the present's highest quality models it could cover everything from gaming to high security business security, recording and surveillance suites, covert communications... The thing could do an amazing variety of things, only slightly more amazingly than the previous generation!
It becomes something far more dangerous with Syndicate improvements however.
'As' a Syndicate Infiltrator, it's to be expected that many fascinating features will have been illegally spliced in to make it a viable tool and maximize chances of successfully ripping valuable data from the corporations.
The biggest feature is the Hacking Suite, High Quality enough to allow neurological control of approximately 87% of all hacking activities of sub-corporate security levels, and a record breaking 32% of Corporate security levels, with a physical input suite capable of taking on most of the remaining obstacles... It also allows nearly all Civilian level activities to be controlled neurologically.
It comes with certain banned modifications as well, such as the Holo-flash, where it will project a hologram to protect the user's eyes, while a variety of blinding flashes are issued to the environment around the user through use of high charge destabilization of Holo projections, resulting in a controlleable Flash-bang effect with minor EMP like effects... 'minor'.
Another of it's special features is holo-manifestation hacking... this doesn't actually make holograms solid, but it directly a chain of holograms towards a target to supplement neural wireless hacking with something between wireless and physical contact... It's not as good as getting a physical touch on it, but every advantage however redundant might have it's uses someday. It just uses a lot of energy to pull this off.
These kinds of tools are practically required to come with thorough training in being very tech savy, as well as able to maintain it and understand a variety of machines that one is expected to interact with.
Another prime tool for Syndicate Infiltrators... though many don't quite have the neural structure to make maximum use of it, He lucked out in the cranial genetics department and was able to use it to simulate complete changes in identity, though limits still exist naturally, and a number of methods exist to destabilize the Holo projection, it is invaluable for all manner of stealth activities.
It can also be used to project more mundane holographic effects, especially while synergizing with a Holo PC Implant.
A reverse engineered experimental modular weapon system built around magnetic rail technology that fires tiny projectiles at varied levels of charge... that's about it.
In it's pistol configuration it has an effective range of roughly 50 meters or so, with an ammunition load between 50 and 80 pellets. Fired in maximum speed it can fire roughly 5 pellets per second, but doesn't have the punch to be fatal, though it very good at laying out stunning pain on biological targets. With at least half a second of charge it manages enough force to punch through skin and clothing, but needs about a second of charge per shot to tear enough to be potentially fatal. With a full Five second charge the projectile can gain enough force to devastate soft targets and to punch through most lighter forms of armor, but heavy armor will still repel it easily.
Syndicated Arc-light Co. Prosthetic Right Arm
At base the Arclight arms have always been popular with people favoring mobility over hefty durability without wanting to sacrifice all modularity or power as one would have to for the 'cheap' mobility models. It maintains a 'moderate' level of durability and strength enhancement while minimizing on awkward imbalance or slowing someone down with weight.
Most importantly it is highly receptive of modifications, within reason of course, of which there are several in his right arm.
Dendrite hacking wires - Each finger opens to release short range attachable hacking wires that magnify one's ease of hacking things, as long as they can actually find somewhere to be plugged in of course.
Pile-bunker Fore-arm Spike - Every infiltrator needs to have 'some' kind of last-ditch extremely deadly weapon they can use, which usually means melee as ranged threats are more likely to be fled from success. In his case, a catch limited Durasteel spike approximately 10 inches long is hidden in his fore-arm, surrounded by a compact magnetic rail system that allows it to be propelled either out of his elbow or his palm with an energetic release similar to that of a grenade, focused into a singular point of impact. It takes 1 to 10 seconds to charge depending on how much puncturing power is desired and how many other features are utilizing available energy.
Tesla Burst Bicep Suite - A short range Electric Discharge Cannon hidden inside the upper arm, revealed through the elbow opening and releasing the discharge for any number of expected results. It can be used to fire a focused bolt roughly 10 meters away, or a radial blast with about a 2 meter radius in-front. It can also be used in conjunction with the Pile-bunker if he keeps his arm straight, allowing him to bury the spike into hardened mechanical devices, such as sentry bots, and unleash a powerful electric discharge directly into the sensitive innards. It takes 2 to 10 seconds to charge each shot on the same ratio as the pile-bunker, and several more to prepare both of them.
Story: His backstory is going to be one of his secrets ;3 The public gist is that he seemed to come out of nowhere, suspicious to the Nth degree to the corporations by nature, but the sheer volume of 'party boy' he exuded, cover though it surely was, it made him look so much a rich wasteful fool that many let their guard down around him... Afterall, the corporate types rarely liked something more than a useful idiot with disposable income they were willing to throw away on a whim.
Story:
I'm sure everyone would wonder how I came to live among the elite without being born there... well that's simple, I had backup, a lot of it, though with it came debt... or so one would call it, though I saw it as mutual assistance rather than debt.
It was a real 'pauper to prince' kinda dealy, born in the slums, wallowing in the muck and leavings of the rich to survive, but there was a fire behind all the filth, a burning desire for more... perhaps it was born of the stories I always took to heart with a childish innocence, maybe it was some strange brain wiring that made me 'hunger' when I saw those massive towers in the center of the city lording over the rest of us.
Either way, I was filled with... determination? Motivation? both are powerful forces aren't they? It drove me to get more, trading, buying, selling, stealing, killing... Like everyone I had my failures, but I had my successes too, and those got the attention of New Ark's local Syndicate.
At first, it was merely as yet another lacky, but it didn't take long for my ambition and drive to be noticed... Oh, it wasn't easy, nor fast, the syndicate doesn't invest in someone like me without absolute certainty that i'm going to be a valuable asset for them in the future... The specifics are none of your business, but eventually I got a 'boost' from them, and was able to quicken my rise from the slums to the middle class, and onward to the upper.
It was years before I was called on to start 'paying out', years that I had spent establishing myself, gaining contacts, building an easily over-lookable reputation as a useless playboy wasting his money, and I fulfilled my expectations gladly! It was eager to do something even more exciting than party.
I finally joined the ranks of the 'true' elite in New Ark City, The infiltrators, the whistleblowers, the tech thieves, the corporate saboteurs... The criminal elite I mean, The ones who picked away at the corporations power every day and night, snuck into classified facilities and stole the 'newest upper hand' of the corporations to be reverse engineered and mass produced by crim-factories that would make it available to the little people at an infinitely more affordable rate.
What better way to claw my way higher? I certainly wouldn't be able to do so while working 'for' the Corporations, they were designed to keep only those on top 'on top', so I was excited, Happy!, to be a part of the counter-system that spread their technological power out to the rest of the populace. In return I could get just about whatever I could ever hope for, life extensions, top quality augments, illegal modifications the corporations ban simply because they offer the little people an edge.
Oh yeah, speaking of augments... aside from my brain and dermal implants I had intended to stay as human as possible, the less tech in me the less chances for the corps to trace things back to 'my' kind of tech. I was perfectly happy with a holo-stealth suite and the highest quality Holo-computer implant the Syndicates could supply me with, filled with alll kinds of stored data, apps, games, the bloody works, HO! I could entertain myself for years even when locked up with nothing to do!
unfortunately, one of my thankfully rare failures caught up to me, not from the corporations mind you, it was actually another of the Rich Elite who'd taken exception to her husband hitting on me, remarkable that I can actually 'say' that... but she put considerable resources towards booby-trapping my own home and setting loose some hacked security droids on me... needless to say, the results were a tremendous mess, some seizure of assets because for once the target of 'the game' had survived to tell the tale, and a lot of comensatory acquisitions.
All things considered I came out ontop, and that 'after' I lost an arm to it all.
Of course this is all kind of old news... and irrelevant, I don't even know why I'm talking about it, considering what happened recently with the entire Corporate empire coming crashing to the ground... literally! [This leads right into the Intro snippet for the OOC ;3 ]
